Everyone remembers the night the boy band Eleven broke up. Hearts shattered around the world, including my own.

I made a mistake, and I’ve been avoiding bandmate Mason Nash ever since.

At first it was hard, but eighteen months ago, he made it easier by leaving Hollywood and disappearing.

When Eleven reunion talks start, I’m against it completely. I could really do with the publicity, but I don’t want to face Mason again. I’m sure he won’t want to see me either.

MASON

I don’t miss LA or anyone in it. Not even the guys from Eleven.

So, when they turn up on my doorstep talking about reunions, the last thing I want to do is hear them out.

I hold strong too. Until my eyes land on Denver Smith.

My ex-best friend.

Two and a half years ago, he ghosted me, and I still don’t know why.

I want answers—I miss him—but I don’t want to let him back into my life if there’s a chance he’ll walk away again.

When I think of Eden's books, I generally associate them with banter, snark, steam, and plenty of humor, but this third book in the "Famous" series had all of that and... more.

That "more" came in the form of anger, bitterness, abandonment, hurt feelings, professional (and personal) failure, fear, and no small amount of pride.

In short, unlike the usual fluffy and sweet tone to which I've become accustomed, Eden pulled out the big guns, channeling her inner Amy Lane, and introduced her readers to some full-on, gut-wrenching, heartfelt angst. GAH!

And gurrrrrrrl, I have to admit that at around seventy-five percent in, the Maroon 5 "Memories" part had me on the absolute verge of tearing up, which honestly hasn't happened in quite some time.

The main focus on the story was Denver and Mason repairing their deep friendship, which had been obliterated after Denver ghosted Mason two and a half years prior, when Denver kissed his straight best friend, then fled the scene.

Right off the bat, the MC's weren't really in a place where Eden's usual snark and banter would've gotten them any nearer to their goal of becoming close again, maybe even closer than they'd been before.

So while this one still had a decent amount of humor, the snark and banter felt less prominent, with that only really happening between the MC's and their former bandmates.

Other than The Sad Sad Spoilery Thing That Happened, my very least favorite parts of the book were and their , which I'm extremely thankful was only short-lived. Yes, it still PISSED ME OFF at the time, though.

But this was a romance, and Eden always, always, ALWAYS writes happily-ever-afters, so the story ended as I'd expected and was happy with where it left off.

While this slightly more serious story wasn't my favorite of the series, I'd still rate it at around 4.25 stars and wholeheartedly recommend it to fans of the "Famous" series.

I'm seriously dying to read Blake's story, but it appeared that his (potential?) love interest may already have a boyfriend, and I despise cheating, so I'm nervous as to how that might play out on-page.

This was yet another book I was looking forward to reading that didn't work for me in the end.

On the positive note, I did really like the first 30% or so and I really liked Denver's character. Mason's character was the one I had problems with, which I didn't expect at all, as well as a couple more things that are a part of this story.

OMG that was a hard fought for happy ending and totally different to what I was expecting.

One part, which I'm not going to spoil, really came out of nowhere, and I'm not ashamed to admit it made me teary.

The one thing that wasn't a shock though was Denver and Mason's feelings for each other. It was very clear their friendship had more than just a bromance vibe.

At times I wanted to thump Mason, bit I also completely understood him and the fears and doubts he was labouring with.

Denver is a sweetheart, but he's got his own demons to fight too and, while this is still as steamy and has the great banter I'd expect from Eden, it tackles a few more serious subjects too.

It's a wonderfully realised exploration of falling for your best friend and the sexual intimacy develops organically.

My favourite one so far in this wonderful series.

Now, roll on Blake and his intriguing man!

so i was very excited for this book. I mean second chance, best friends to lovers, band getting back together. it all seemed solid right?

W R O N G

good gosh, i love many of Eden Finley's books but this one was just so boring. the beginning was fine; you see Harley and Ryder ( previous books ) trying to hunt everyone down and get them back together. and this follows Mason and Denver trying to mend their broken frienship.

but after that it got soo boring . i dont know if it was the writing or the plot but it just didn't click with me and i found myself skipping a lot.

i really hope the next one will be better because this is 2.5 to 3 stars for me.

I rest my case. I'm sad to say that this feels like everything just got thrown into the story without any
serious thought. I can't make any sense of the characters and their actions.

2nd re-read

All the emotions came crashing down again. It was such a good read with heartfelt characters and a lot of introspection. Loved it!

4.5 Hollywood sucks, but I can't wait for Eleven's comeback stars

HEARTBREAKS AND NEW BEGINNINGS

This novel was way more emotional than the two previous books. I don't cry often, but I still felt my eyes welling up and my chest contracting a few times. Even if I wasn't in the best mood to fully appreciate it - I'm more on a light fluffy road right now - I'm still giving it a GR 5 stars, because it tackled darker themes in a very good fashion and I was still hooked anyway!

Mason and Denver's relationship was the hardest to witness. There had been a lot of hurt and fear, which lingered for quite some time. The atmosphere was heavier and I actually loved it because it felt real. Forgiveness is hard to come by, especially when you feel betrayed, so it was unnerving watching Mason slowly figure things out and come to terms with his feelings. Their story kept me on the edge of my seat also because there was a lot of expectations about them getting as close as before - being a family again and re-starting Eleven.

Character-wise, I think I liked the characters more for their flaws than their qualities. In any other book, I'd have found the stalling frustrating, but not here. Aside from rebuilding their friendship and going beyond that, they also had to face Hollywood again. It was harsher for Mason, who had left the shark pool for more than a year, but Denver also realized he had no one real by his side all this time and needed to cope with his addiction. Depression, abandonment issues, addictions. It wasn't an easy story to tell, but it was definitely worth it! And the ending was so heartwarming 👍🧡

I'm excited for Encore, but a little sad the series is coming to an end...

I have to say that this was the weakest in the series so far, for me. I was really looking forward to Mason and his LI, but I don't know if this story being about two guys from the same band quite worked.

I didn't really feel much of a connection between Mason and Denver at the start, and while I eventually felt some connection, I still didn't exactly fall in love with these two.

You could say it was because they both thought they were straight until they fell for each other, but I have read books like that before where the romance has been done really well.

I think, maybe, it was because we didn't really get to see any of the build up of their relationship before the feelings were made aware, and Mason also thought he saw Denver as a brother and then when they reconnect he starts to see Denver that way and I'm not sure if the transition from apparently no romantic feelings to feelings was done well.

I think this would have benefited from just seeing them in the past, maybe a prologue of them being them together, to see what they were like as best friends, to see why Denver fell for Mason and maybe Mason feelings things but being oblivious to it or denying it, what have you.

I just think this story went too quickly into showing feelings and then getting Mason to realize his feelings for Denver. It fell short in a good portion of this.

I also felt that not a ton happened in this. Which, I don't usually have much of a problem with if the characters and relationships are interesting and sucking me in. These two didn't exactly suck me in, so the lack of plot affected my enjoyment as well. Like yes, there was the plot of Harley wanting them to come back to Eleven, and the random plot near the end with , but for the most part it didn't come into play and there was mainly just Denver and this stupid Fandom talent show, which I didn't care for at all.

So all that brought this down for me. I came to enjoy these two at times later on, and they had their sweet and sexy moments, and I enjoyed the story, at times - mostly near the end when the main plot actually came in to play, and when they - but overall I've read much better from this author.

I actually think this might be the lowest rated book I've given this author. I could be wrong and maybe I forgot if I've given her three stars before, but I don't think so.

I love this author a ton and will always read her stuff, but this was just one of the rare ones that overall wasn't a win for me. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. The lack of connection I felt also made this a slow read for me, and it's always a little frustrating when a book is slow going.

This was just a weak entry in this series and I really hope Blake and Jordan's romance picks this series back up. Already the premise of their story has a lot of potential, so I can definitely hope.

But this one, just overall not a win. Worth a read, and others might disagree with me, but for me it just didn't work like Finley's works usually do.

An okay entry, one to enjoy at times, but not one that I loved.

I was looking forward to Mason and Denver's story ever since I realised they would get one together and their book didn't disappoint.

Harley is still trying to get Eleven back together and he's doing it one member at the time. Here is the first time we see all five of them.

Mason and Denver were always a little bit closer than they were with the rest of the band, but they figured it was just friendship. Until Denver started to realize there was more to his feelings for his best friend and he made a move that resulted in him being embarrassed and Mason feeling abandoned.

When they see each other again, they have some past regrets to get over in order to reconnect and some new realizations to process before they can put that awkward moment behind and be as close as they once were.

The title of the book is in reference to a show that Denver is participating in as a judge. It's a fitting title because it plays a big part in the plot and in bringing Denver and Mason together again. Denver sees it as his last chance to save his solo career and so he goes along with every whim the production has. Some of these whims result in Mason feeling comfortable in front of a camera lens again.

Being back home for eighteen months and having regular access to homecooked food from his mom while deciding to let his hair and beard do their thing, has changed Mason's appearance in a way that makes him unrecognisable at first glance. That was part of the appeal of his new look for him, he could hide in plain sight.

I liked how Mason gaining weight was presented in the book. It wasn't something to be "fixed" and Denver wasn't put off by his different appearance. I liked that Mason was comfortable in his new body and didn't want to go back to super skinny, that it wasn't required of him to go back in order to join "Eleven" again, that Denver was as much attracted to this Mason as he was to the old one. Mason was a character with a real body, he started working out to reach a stage he was the most comfortable in and that was it. He had a belly and he was happy with it, Denver was more than happy with it too.

Harley, Brix, Riley and Lyric are side characters and we also get to know Blake for the first time along with his love interest. I'll admit I was super excited once I realized they were going to get a story of their own! As usual, I can't wait!

I had never read a book that related so much on the body positive message like this book did. All bodies are beautiful…muscled or soft, slender or plump. It's how the person they belong to handles their lives and how they relate to others. The banter between these characters is something I was always drawn to in the other books in the series. These guys...the 5 members of Eleve, have the ease of having known each other for so many years and having performed side by side throughout all of it. They know each other on and off-stage. When all five of them finally get together, in one room, it’s an experience that sparks clarity…almost like coming home. I found myself lost in Denver and Mason’s story. This book was a little angstier than we’re normally used to from this author, yet it still contained everything we’ve come to love about her books. It was well written with lovable characters. We’ve seen Denver and Mason before and heard about them as well. In this book, we get to really know them better. They are great characters that are so easy to like. I look forward to seeing where Eden Finley goes next with this series. We really need Blake’s book and I believe it may be out there, I just haven't searched enough. I wasn’t sure I was going to love Mason and Denver’s story as much as I did. They wasted so much time skating around one another and hiding their feelings from the others that already knew how they felt. I really liked Denver; your heart will break for everything he’d gone through since he was little. I liked Mason, too, although I wanted to shake some sense into him on a fairly regular basis. The sparks flew whenever they were close to each other, and I loved how natural the progression of their relationship was. This was an angstier read than the prior two books, even though it was well-balanced with Eden Finley’s particular brand of hot snarky, banter. It's about a well-deserved second chances, how love can happen between best friends...it's an angsty, sweet, and fun story. If you've read the first two books you will love seeing all the Eleven guys together at last at last.

Hmm, there were times I thought I really liked this book, and there were times I just wasn't feeling it at all. I think the reason for this is that the concept and premise is right up my alley, especially with the long-term friends having a fall-out after one of them has been in love with the other for like forever, buuuuuuut it sadly just wasn't executed all that well. I mean, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It's very.. average.

I also feel like these characters weren't super interesting or were developed all that properly. After all, there was plenty of angst and drama, and a lot of difficult situations they had to deal with, but.. I just didn't really care.. Oops.
There were also a lot of sex scenes and that got incredibly boring incredibly fast.
I did like how in love Denver was with Mason, and I am always a sucker for pining, so that was probably my favourite part of their story, but I don't think that's enough to create a truly good romance.

This series has really been giving me a different vibe and storyline every single book, which is interesting I guess, but I unfortunately think this one was my least favourite. The worst part about that is that this one definitely had the potential to be my favourite, but just did not live up to it, so yea... Sad.
Here's to hoping the final book will be a true banger, because so far, all the other three books have been entertaining, but nothing special.

I've given this an A- for narration and a B- for content at AudioGals .

Eden Finley’s  Famous  series about what happens to the members of the biggest boy band on the planet after they split up continues with book three, Fandom. It’s a friends-to-lovers/’gay awakening’ story that, while containing some of the author’s trademark humour and banter also touches on some serious issues – alcoholism, body image, depression, anxiety, loss – that make it feel more solemn in tone than the previous books in the series.

Since Eleven broke up, Harley, Ryder and Blake have been doing pretty well, but the same isn’t true of Denver Smith and Mason Nash. Mason released a solo album which tanked and then just fell off the grid, and Denver’s solo career is hanging in the balance so he’s taken a gig as a judge on an X-Factor/Pop Idol type show, hoping that the bump in recognition he’ll get from being on TV will get him a second album deal.

When Harley explains his plan to get Eleven back together, the idea has definite appeal for Denver – but he knows there’s no way Mason will go for it. Harley – being Harley – is undaunted and determined to find Mason and get him on board – but the problem is that no-one knows where Mason is. Well. Not quite no-one.

Throughout the seven years Eleven was together, Mason and Denver were best friends, but when, right after Eleven’s final concert, Denver kissed Mason, that friendship ended. Mason was shocked rather than angry, and explained that he loved Denver like a brother – and Denver, thinking he’d made a terrible mistake, was deeply embarrassed and fled. He ghosted Mason after that and they haven’t seen or spoken to each other in the two and a half years since that night – and Denver isn’t sure if he can face seeing Mason again.

Denver ends up accompanying Harley to visit Blake on the set of his latest movie; the visit turns into dinner, turns into a club and ends with – as usual – Denver drinking too much and passing out… but not before he’s told Harley where Mason is.

After his solo album bombed, Mason retreated to his home in Montana to lick his wounds, smarting from the sting of failure and from the fact that his best friend in the world wasn’t there for him when he needed him. He’s heard the rumours about an Eleven reunion so isn’t overly surprised when Harley finally turns up on his doorstep – but he hadn’t expected Denver to be with him. And Denver, Harley and Blake hardly recognise their former bandmate in the chunky, long-haired, bushy-bearded and unkempt mountain-man who opens the door. Not surprisingly, Mason turns Harley down. The guys leave and as far as Mason is concerned, that’s that.

Except, of course, it isn’t, because the presence of three of the former members of Eleven didn’t go unnoticed, and soon Mason is besieged by the paparazzi. Needing to get away, he manages to sneak out unnoticed, and makes his way to Denver’s place to hide out until the furore dies down.

Mason and Denver have been lonely and a little bit lost without each other, and this new enforced proximity gives them the opportunity to talk about what happened between them that night and afterwards, and for Mason – in particular – to really start to question the nature of his feelings towards Denver. He’d been so sure at the time that what he was feeling was nothing more than a deep friendship, but being with Denver now is different, somehow. And for Denver, spending time with Mason only shows him that what he’d suspected all along – that he was in love with Mason – was the truth. And still is.

I’ve been enjoying this series, and was looking forward to Fandom because I enjoy friends-to-lovers romances, but unfortunately, the romance is the weakest part of this story. We’re told Mason and Denver were best friends for seven years, but we never see anything of that friendship; we never see why Denver fell for Mason, there’s no hint that Mason might have feelings for Denver that he didn’t understand or was oblivious to, and without that background, it feels like there’s a chunk of the romance missing. That lack also makes it harder to buy their reconciliation, and that Mason – who has always identified as straight – is suddenly so open to exploring his sexuality with Denver.

I quite enjoyed the other storylines, however. Denver’s need to “remain relevant” in the industry is largely explained by his backstory (he grew up dirt poor and was abandoned by his mother), and his realisation that he has a problem with alcohol and his determination to do something about it are well handled. The same is true of the question of body image; Ms. Finley shows that Mason is happy with who he is and the way he looks – despite the disgraceful comments on the change in his appearance that are made online – and that Denver is just as – if not more – attracted to the new hot-lumberjack version of him as he ever was to the “old” Mason.

But I didn’t really ‘click’ with Fandom until the tragic event that happens in the last quarter, which takes things in a different direction. It’s tear-jerkingly sad in itself, and the strain it puts on Mason and Denver’s relationship sees them finally having to fight for each other rather than just falling back into old habits and behaviours, which made it the strongest part of the book. The ending is also very satisfying –

Iggy Toma returns to narrate this instalment in the series and delivers another intelligent, enjoyable performance. His interpretations of Denver and Mason are an excellent fit for their personalities; Mason’s gruff, deep tones work especially well to depict a big, scruffy mountain-man and contrast well with the slightly higher pitch and lighter timbre given to Denver. His portrayals of Harley, Ryder and Brix are consistent with the way they sound in the other books, and the other secondary roles are appropriately characterised and clearly differentiated. But the thing I always look forward to when I listen to Mr. Toma is the way he finds the emotional centre of the story and characters and conveys them to the listener; I had a bit of trouble completely buying into the romance in this one, and I suspect the connection between Denver and Mason in this story is considerably enhanced by his empathetic, nuanced performance.

Although Fandom is angstier than the previous books and touches on some fairly serious subjects, they’re handled sensitively and don’t overwhelm the rest of the story. It isn’t my favourite book in this series (that would be  Spotlight ), but the fabulous performance from Iggy Toma puts it firmly in the recommendation bracket, despite my reservations.

Aaaaand another sweet and quick read! Fandom was probably my favorite in the series when it came to couple dynamics? I really liked that we had two bandmates and their complicated relationship as the focus this time and it was super super sweet reading about Denver and Mason healing their friendship and that turning into something more. <3

3 just ok stars!! 😐 This book was a little Meh for me 🙄. I typically do enjoy EF's books and so far the series has been great, but this one just did not fulfill all the build-up. There wasn't much of a plot, which I admit is not always essential to the likability of a book; but I also didn't find the angst really credible. I liked Denver and would have actually loved to have learnt a little more on his background and alcohol dependency. But we got more of Mason's angst and issues and honestly, I couldn't quite sympathize with him. He seemed really flaky and indecisive. Except the steam and sizzle which is always well-written in EF's books, there wasn't much else. I kept waiting for something to click and it didn't. Nevertheless I won't disparage the book, it is still quite good and many fans will certainly love it. Although this was a tad disappointing for me, I'm excited about the next one with Blake and Jordan. 💕

It’s funny because even if this one wasn’t my favorite in the series (Spotlight was, I think, I'm not sure anymore) it’s the one I can’t stop thinking about. Loved the characters and the natural develop of their relationship. Loved Denver like crazy, all of him. Loved the presence of Harley, Riley and Lyric. Loved meeting Blake, so much that now I can’t wait for his book.

Highly recommend series and highly recommend author.

I have been thinking hard about my review for this book. I've been struggling a little bit to find my words, and maybe I still am.

First of all, I loved Eden Finley's Fake Boyfriend series and those books turned her into an auto-buy author for me. I also love her collab with Saxon James and the CU hockey series.
But when it comes down to the Famous series, we haven't really clicked. The first book started off well enough, but the second was just 3 stars (which, honestly, was just 21/2 star with a bonus 1/2 because it was Eden Finley) and this third addition, I'm sad to say, didn't work for me either.
It started off quite good, actually. The first two chapters in I thought this book was going to be great. Denver seemed like a real interesting character, with his troubled past, the way Mason hurt him after he kissed him. It sounded promising.
Until it didn't anymore. And I have been thinking real hard about what it is that I'm missing here, just like I did in the second Famous book. Partly it's because the characters seem flat and too...I don't know, boring? I don't FEEL them, but if you ask me why not, I don't have the answer to that. Has Eden Finley's writing changed? Am I changed? Do I look for other things in m/m romance nowadays? I really don't know. But in the end I wasn't really engaged enough to care about how this story turned out. I just don't click with these guys and I'm kind of sorry to admit.

I received an ARC from GRR in exchange for an honest review

This has to be one of the best in the series so far. I absolutely love the chemistry of Denver and Mason and the journey throughout this book. Eden Finley can do no wrong. I absolutely love her works.

This has been my most anticipated book in the series and the biggest let down.

I really thought this would be a new favorite, two boy band members falling for each other is basically my kryptonite, but here it just wasn't working for me.

I had so many small issues with it that they all piled up into a big one.

1. The characters

Listen, I liked both Denver and Mason. I really did, especially Danny. But the thing is: It's starting to feel like every character from this series has a similar personality. I was so excited when I heard that Mason was the 'Bad Boy' from Eleven. But in the end he was the nice guy, juuuuust like Ryder, Danny, Lyric... yeah I guess you can see what I mean.

No wonder Harley is my favorite, at least his diva persona is fun.

2. Where is the drama?

The plot isn't bad either, like I said there really is nothing I hated about this book, I was just expecting more.
I seriously craved some drama. And there was a lot of potential, not gonna lie. The gay awakening with the following denial, them having to be careful not to get caught by the media (actually I wish that that would've happened) or by the other guys, not to mention by the crew of Denver's reality show...

The possibilities are endless, yet for the majority of the plot nothing truly exciting happens. Well until...

3. The wrong kind of drama

As always, I try to keep my reviews spoiler-free, but since I really wish I knew about this one, I will just put it here – It deals with the death of a loved one.

That one did hit me completely out of nowhere, and I wasn't enjoying it. Their grief is described really well, yes, but I still wish Eden Finley would've chosen a different kind of drama for her novel.

4. The smut parts

The smut parts are getting a bit predicable, to be honest. I kinda wanted something new and exciting, especially since both Danny and Mason are new to the whole gay sex stuff, but if you swap out their names with Ryder and Lyric, no one could tell a difference between them as a couple and Denver and Mas.

There are still some things I really liked:

Seeing all the guys together was fun
and I liked how supportive they were of each other and how easily they admitted to past mistakes
Them all bashing Harley was hilarious (he is still the best one tho!)
Danny was clearly the star of this book and I loved seeing his vulnerable side

I know, I know I probably start to sound like a broken record, but overall it's not at all a bad book and I truly wish I could've enjoyed it more. It was still a nice distraction from... well, real life **shudders** though, and I'm still excited about the next and final novel.

Fandom by Eden Finley was a great addition to the Famous series. In usual EF fashion, the story was full of romance, banter, chemistry, but this book also dealt with depression. It added an extra layer to the story.

I loved the connection that Denver (though I called him Denny in my head the whole time because it was so cute when Mason used it) and Mason had was heartfelt. You could feel the love they had for each other and the pain their separation wrought.

Throughout the book, you see them repair their friendship, as well as navigate their newfound (well, at least, on Mason's side) romance.

This book has:

-Dual POVs
-Friends to lovers
-Hurt/Comfort/Healing
-Fun cameos
-STEAM
-Romance
-Nice pacing

This was almost a slam dunk except for .

All in all, Fandom was a solid read.

This was a really really nice addition to the whole famous series. Mason and Denvers story is a great second chance and friends to lovers series.

Eh I feel like all these books are blending together. They are so similar. Just happen to have different names and I'm getting kinda tired of it. I want something different. Not saying this wasn't good in its own way. But I definitely expected lots of crying. I also imagined a Denver almost dying of alcohol poisoning part but alas it was not meant to be *wipes tear*.

I really liked this book more than book two to be honest. It was great to see more of the Eleven boys come together!

I can’t wAit to see how the fourth book turns out with Blake! I can only imagine especially seeing how the banter with him and Jordan was hinted at in this book!

I can’t wait to see all the boys come together too! Ugh just great, makes me miss when One Direction was still together and being apart of that fandom haha love it 1D for life!!

Do you have an author where you get one of their books and you drop everything to read it? Eden Finley is one of those authors for me. When I saw Fandom hit my Kindle, I dropped everything and read this in one sitting, it's that incredible!

Denver and Mason were perfectly imperfect together, and I couldn't have loved them more! They both are struggling when we meet them, and their journey of growth together is so beautiful to read. I had butterflies in my stomach when I was reading their story, and was gasping along with everything they were going through! You just want to wrap these two in a hug and not let anything bad happen to them because you love them so much!

I have absolutely loved the Famous series, and cannot wait for the next book!
