A lot can change in one year and it’s not often we as readers get to pop back into character’s lives to get an update on how they all are now.

Vera, the avid audiobook listener, is now working in the industry and loving it. Her husband has released his first novel and it has just been recorded for audio. The Audie awards are coming up so there is excitement among the narrators when the nominees are announced.

I loved the discussions about the pronunciations of words and Atticus’ interpretation of the word ‘missionary.’ The difficulties of working from home with all those annoying background noises made me appreciate all of those who worked through lockdowns - it was also really funny. The bloopers were very entertaining, it’s great to hear the unscripted versions of my favourite narrators. I also loved the discussions about whether or not the narrator gets turned on reading steamy scenes, it’s something I’ve wondered about myself. Too many laugh out loud moments to mention :)

Once again this audio features: Erin Mallon, Joe Arden, Andi Arndt, Shane East, Tanya Eby, Teddy Hamilton, Emma Wilder and the addition of Maxine Mitchell.

Update 10/30/22 reread /listen and watched LIVE from Vegas! (I have the pb books too)
The entire 3 part play !! I will never get tire of this !
*****************
4.5 STARS. Do not be fooled by the length. This is a full length audio play. A multi cast audio play.
I was going to mention a narrator that stole the show. I'd have to name them all.
I especially enjoyed Tanya Eby- as Georgia.
This was so much fun. A lot of snarky dry humor.
Audio listeners, Romance authors, narrators, and the audio producers are spoofed.
No one is spared. I bought this from Audible.
Well done Erin and Cast!

If you haven’t read These Walls Can Talk you must because These Walls Can Talk 2 is even better.

You fall in love with the characters in book 1 and you get to find out how they are doing in book 2. I swear I never laughed so much listening to a book before.
If you’re a part of this romance audiobook community you will totally get it feel like it’s an inside joke of sorts. But also if you’re not you will enjoy it maybe even more because these characters suck you in.

My favorite part hands down is when Erin Mallon’s character comes in Smoochy my Boochy I have no idea if I am spelling it like it was written but it’s just down right funny.
Also; The Lords Work & Missionary… When Atticus says that’s what he wrote down I almost peed myself.
Too funny.

These narrators are amazing and I want more, I need more. I loved the story, I loved the bloopers.
Grabby hands more please!

(audiobook) With this unexpected second play, the author delves a little more into the audiobook industry. From the difficulties of working from home to the discussion over pseudonymes, she reveals the internal cogs of the machine.

But she also knows how to exploits her colorful characters and we learn a bit more about their personal life, especially their love life–love is definitely at the center of this book. Their conversations are alternately hilarious and deeply emotional.

The narrators of the first play come back, with the addition of two female narrators–including the author herself–for two new characters. They’re once again amazing. The immersion is helped with a great sound design. Who needs eyes when you can see a play just with sounds?

This is the audioplay you’re looking for.

Erin Mallon is amazingly talented! She has done it again with These Walls Can Talk 2! This audio play is pure comedy gold! I had the best time catching up with all my favorite characters and meeting new ones. This audio play was fun, flirty, and full of laughs. The entire cast is EPIC, and their performances will keep you entertained throughout the entire audio play!

These Walls Can Talk 2 picks up one year later, and each character has grown and changed a bit. It's intriguing to find out what these characters have been up to and see how their careers have grown.

This cast features several of my favorite one click narrators. It is simply perfection when they all come together for a multicast performance. I never have to guess who said what because their voices are that distinct and spot on! Joe, Andi, Emma, Teddy, Shane, Tanya, Maxine, and Erin deserve a standing ovation for their outstanding performances. Several of them perform some quirky and fascinating monologues throughout the play, that inspired me to stand up and cheer! Also, the sound effects were so good! All the special attention to every little detail was perfect and gave a clear, vivid image in my mind; not to mention sounded great in my ears too!

An Erin Mallon audio play is always a definite must listen! Thank you Erin for another wonderfully, brilliant audio treat! I did not want it to end! Looking forward to more from one of my favorites!

The Narwhal has found love!!!

Erin Mallon created comedic gold, again! I was skeptical about this second one because I have seen it too often where the second book can never quite live up to the first. I was completely wrong!

It is a year later, and all your favorites from book one are back with a whole new set of shenanigans.

Vera is now in the "industry", but Cameron is not sure how he feels about it.

Jennifer's narrator career has taken off.

Georgia & Neal are married now and that comes with its own set of problems.

And then Atticus, our seriously hot narrator has found love.

You can expect the same craziness from book one with a touch more... just a touch more everything! All of the narrators were incredible of course, and now I am obsessed with Erin Mallon and her Audio Play's.

If you enjoyed These Walls Can Talk then I have no doubt you will love These Walls Can Talk 2!!

How does one improve upon perfection? I sure don't know, but Erin Mallon does! These Walls Can Talk 2: The Narwhal Strikes Back! is sweet and funny and relatable and outrageous and all the things I dreamt of from the moment this creation was announced. Andi Arndt, Shane East, Tanya Eby, Teddy Hamilton, Emma Wilder and Joe Arden are all back reprising their roles, with new cast members Maxine Mitchell and Erin Mallon.

Right off the bat the Sound Design by Nick Long and Editing by Tyler Whitlach was perfection. It turned a book and narration into a play and experience for the listener. I was blown away by how perfect their creative choices were.

This play felt a bit like art imitating life. Challenges with at home recording studios, noises in the booth, kids in the apartment, These seem like challenges working parents (*cough* Erin) would experience on a regular basis especially since March 2020. Some of Neil's story line is even similar to stories I have heard Teddy Hamilton share in lives on facebook. Vera, is trying to carve out a career in the audiobook world in whatever way she can. If we could all make a living out of reading, wouldn't we try? The conversations about F/F romance and M/M romance were so accurate! Though I know quite a few people who enjoy F/F romance so maybe the market is growing?

While Erin's characters are fictional, they are archetypes of the people you find in the romance community, people who love books and the artists that create them. These Walls Can Talk 2 feels like a love letter to romance audiobooks and romancelandia and it was expertly written an performed.

Also, my name is in this play... MY NAME IS IN THIS PLAY!! sorry for the shouty capitals but OMG it was the coolest moment getting to hear my full name read by the talented Joe Arden! I fangirled HARD! At this point my husband was looking at me like I was a looney toon, so of course he had to listen too. Erin Mallon made all my audiobook, bookstagram, blogger romance reader dreams come true. Achievement unlocked, I have officially peaked but man it was good. (Vera would totally fangirl with me if I could tell her)

If you have any concerns about a sequel living up to the original, have no fear! This play is absolutely brilliant! 5 Stars and a standing ovation to Erin Mallon and the cast of TWCT2.

I received an ALC of this book and voluntarily give my review.

Erin Mallon is back with another audio play and I'm here laughing my head off.
If you haven't listened to the first These Walls Can Talk, you can, but I don't feel like it was totally necessary to enjoy this one. You do get to see where those characters are from the first play, but just go in and enjoy this insider play of working in the audiobook world. You will enjoy it just as much or maybe even more.

I'm not sure if this audiobook comes out in kindle or physical book form, but can I suggest you just forgo all that? Audio is the ONLY way to go. The first play was great and had me laughing and totally getting the inside jokes, but this play is even better. With the extra sound effects, this really went a step above.

If you're a romance reader and you listen to romance books, this cast of characters will be familiar and will leaving you star struck. They did a great job with their characters and giving us the inside feel of what an audiobook narrator life can be like (with the comedy thrown in). And the little inside details we as readers notice and love (and hate) makes it for a great audio experience. It's seriously a laugh out loud experience. This misunderstandings? Their mispronunciation? And the words that can be titillating while perfoming?? OMG! I was literally laughing while my kids were asking me what was wrong with me.

Just do yourself a favor and if you need a few hours of laughs, try this one out. It will leave you with the biggest smile on your face and nodding your head at the things you could only imagine.

This is the second of two audio plays. If you haven’t listened to book 1 do that first. You will fall in love with the characters and their quirks - guaranteed! This second audioplay hits the ground running and is brilliantly hilarious in all the right places - So wrong it’s right! If you want 2 hours and 39 minutes of truly excellent entertainment you cannot go wrong with the one! Kudos again to Erin for knowing her audience. Atticus is at it again and I couldn’t stop grinning! I have listened several times and get the giggles with each listen. From Atticus and his creative pronunciations to the group making fun of terms like “netherlips” I was hopelessly entertained and randomly laughing out loud. It’s the perfect combination of informative, genuine, and hilarious! Erin touches on important topics like pseudonyms, the limitations of narrators working from home, and the interpersonal relationships between authors, narrators, engineers, producers, and their spouses. I loved every moment.

Every single contributor to this audioplay needs all of the kudos! The multicast duet narration is flawless with perfect comedic timing! Every actor delivers the lines so we get all of the humor, sarcasm, enthusiasm, concern, frustration, etc.. These colorful, quirky characters are absolutely perfect! Two thumbs way up!!

**Edit: Don't miss out on the bloopers. They are icing on the delicious cake!

I received an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review and wholeheartedly loved every moment of it!

Okay, it’s no secret that I’m a huge Erin Mallon fangirl. When I first listened to “These Walls Can Talk” last year, I checked my house for hidden cameras. Erin wrote an audioplay that pretty much expressed what all audiobook listeners go through. When she announced that “These Walls Can Talk 2: The Narwhal Strikes Back!” was being released, I screamed. Legit screamed.

Not only is the original cast back; Joe Arden, Andi Arndt, Shane East, Tanya Eby, Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder are back. We get two new characters, Maxine Mitchell and Erin Mallon. All eight of these narrators are amazing and I loved hearing all of them together in one play.

Now to pick a favorite part. Almost impossible. I laughed throughout the whole play and woke up my dogs often. Which is quite an accomplishment since they’re all 10+ years old and mostly deaf. The narrator party was hilarious and I want to go to one so badly now. The banter between all the characters is so witty. Atticus in love is a different narwhal and it was amazing. But overall, my favorite part was scene 18. Hearing that turned my terrible week right side up.

I could go on and on about it but why do that? Listen to this audioplay! It’s worth the audible credit. This will easily be one that I listen to over and over again when I need a laugh and pick me up. Plus, it’s 8 of my favorite narrators in one awesome package.

I can’t believe I listened to (most of) #2 in this audio play series!
It might be even worse than the 1st! But also even more hilarious!
I got this one when I got #1, then didn’t think I’d try it. But today I needed something more entertaining while driving and clicking on this audiobook certainly kept me awake while driving.
It’s a spoof on romance audiobook narrators. Completely off the wall bonkers and irreverent. Over the top - so silly. It made me cringe, and it also made me laugh!
The narrators participating in this multi-voiced audio play are fabulous. It’s fun that they can poke fun at themselves.
Lots of rave reviews for this. I think it does a great job of doing what it sets out to do. But it’s just not a 4 or 5⭐️ for me. Definitely for adult ears only.

I absolutely loved These Walls Can Talk by Erin Mallon and when I heard she was doing a second one I was all over it! Let me tell you, I loved it just as much, if not more. These Walls Can Talk 2: The Narwhal Strikes Back! shows us where our favorite characters are now and had me laughing the entire time. Not only that, but we also learn more about the industry. I loved the narration, characters and their interactions so much. This one is a must-listen and really the only way to truly enjoy it.

Happy listening!

Erin has done it again. I absolutely love everything about These Walls Can Talk 2. Erin has such an amazing talent to create these fantastic characters and then to cast them with the perfect actors. I laughed out loud so many times. It’s so easy to fall in love with these characters and wish to be their friends.

I truly hope Erin continues to write more of these audio plays. I will never get tired of catching up with Vera, Cameron, Jennifer, Andrea, Neil, Gloria, and of course the narwhal himself, Atticus.

Thank you Erin for writing something that I can listen to repeatedly and never get tired of.

Short “play” and I loved it as much as the first one. These characters are so fun and this one was surprisingly sweet. Again, the bloopers at the end are the best.

The narrators are all narrators that I love!!

Erin Mallon's newest audio play brings the laughs and heartfelt honesty we know and love. This sequel provides a look into our favorite characters' lives. We get a glimpse of Jennifer home life, Neil and Georgia's quirky newlywed experience, Vera and Cameron's marriage, and Vera and Atticus' newfound friendship.

Erin has also indulged us with a much-anticipated plot addition - Atticus "The Narwahl" Barnswallow has found love!

This gem of realistic fiction includes plenty of behind the scenes info and details fans and industry folks will connect with.

For listeners, the original narrators are back and better than ever! Joining the crew, Erin herself steps in as Atticus' love interest and Maxine Mitchell joins as Jennifer's wife Andrea.

If you're ready for hilarious banter, adorable HEAs, and a fabulous Susan Lucci connection, pick it up today!

🎧 Audio Review 🎧

She has done it again!!! Is it even possible that this one could be funnier than the first, I didn't think it could be but I was wrong! I laughed so much while listening to this audio play. As a romance audiobook listener these plays really make me feel like I am in on the inside jokes with the author and the narrators and I love that we can laugh about them all together. I also loved that the original narrators came back for #2 because they ARE these characters and also loved that we get a few new added characters & narrators. Not only is this play witty and funny but it's so spot on with some reality we see daily in the romance audiobook world. This feels like something I will need to listen to often, especially when I need to laugh. I suggest re-listening to book 1 so you can listen to them both together with the new sound design added to book 1 because it really added so much to the experience of these plays.

“We are in a book!”
Okay so, I really loved These Walls Can Talk, and I have always raved about it and recommended it to anyone who would listen.
These Walls Can Talk 2: The Narwhal Strikes Back! is no different.
This is an all-star cast and Erin Mallon never fails to make me laugh so hard, the people in the grocery store look at me funny.
Joe Arden IS Atticus. Tanya Eby as Georgia SLAYS me. Vera is trying so hard. Bless her heart, and Cameron— I just do not think he will ever fully understand. Giving Atticus a love interest is brilliant. I loved getting to find out more about Jennifer. But the best part for me comes in scene eighteen. It just DOES!!!

****AudioPlay Review***

We Are Arrived… These Walls Can Talk 2 is finally live, this audio play is absolutely brilliant, fun-fab-tastic, awesome, hilarious you name it! JUST WOW!!!

Erin Mallon is the BEST! Her comedic spin of the struggles, feelings, reactions and perceptions of a romance author, narrator, engineer and let’s not forget us fans is just genius and so entertaining. I love her brain. And then having this awesome audio cast turn this play into aural gold just has me in fits of laughter. So so good!

From “mmm-mmm romance”, “sest LAH-vee”, “nether lips”, “smoochie mah boochie” to the “primal growl” you want to listen to this comedy gem!

Also, kudos to the audio sound design and mixing as this made this audio experience so much more special.

I swear this is going to be one of my pick me up listens, this play, including these fun bloopers will definitely brighten many more days.

If your frown is upside down
put on this play and oh happy day!

You can hear that the whole cast had so much fun recording this!

Shane East, Andi Arndt, Emma Wilder, Maxine Mitchell, Joe Arden, Teddy Hamilton, Tanya Eby and of course Erin Mallon, ALL THE STARS and so much more for you! You all rock this!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+

Also, putting it out there, as many of my follow #bookfriends agree, please someone write a FF romance, and cast Maxine and Emma who blew me away with their performance. They just made it feel so real and believable. We need more of this as there are no nearly enough FF romances.

Romance rocks! Romance Wins! Romance in every shape and form. I am here for it!

Erin Mallon, one of my favorite authors and narrators is back with part 2 of These Walls Can Talk!! If you haven't listened to the first These Walls Can Talk, you can, but this piece stands on its own! It was fun-tabulous! Is that a word? Do I care? It was so fabulous and so full of fun!

I suggest listening to the audio as it is an audio play, and this cast of characters is such a hoot and with a group of narrators so well cast, you wouldn't imagine another voice for each of these characters!

This story is exceptionally smart, laugh out loud funny, and full of insider jokes concerning the audio romance community, it is just a pure delight. Add in the extra sound effects, a few more cast members, and this made for such a well-rounded and enjoyable audio experience!

5 stars!

I want to start this review by saying that I do not give five-star reviews like ever, ever, ever. However, The Narwhal Strikes Back is the expectation of that rule.

Let's start with Erin Mallon's writing, which is sharp, clever, and unapologetically authentic. The best thing about Erin's pen-to-paper game is that it's genuine. Even the most outlandish lines/storylines are believable when you dive into Erin's universe because you believe in her storytelling style. It doesn't hurt when you know Erin is a narrator herself so you know there's a sense of reality around this story centered on the audiobook industry.

These Walls Can Talk 2 is equally about the performances by the narrators as the story itself. Like in the first, this audiobook has heavy hitters that deliver a show-stopping performance from beginning to end. One thing about a full-cast production of any kind is that it's rare for everyone to be on their A+ game. There's one performance that is sure to shine above the rest. However, in this, every single cast member is on the same level of excellence.

One thing about Erin's books is that there is always have a layer of intelligence that not all authors have. This book "makes fun" of romance, audiobooks, narrators, and its fans to an extent, but more importantly, it humanizes every single one of these entities too.

The final scene of this book is the perfect moment of that as The Narwhal has his moment at the highest level of "the biz." This moment, which I will be vague about to not give away, is where Erin's writing shines. It's raw, emotional, and has a strong feeling of connection between the writer to the narrator (Joe Arden who delivers the scene perfectly) to readers. And that joy is what audiobooks are all about.

I don't even know where to begin with this review because I just loved this audio play so much, it's ridiculous. I feel like These Walls Can Talk and These Walls Can Talk 2 are just absolute gifts to the romance audiobook fans out there.

If you haven't listened to the first book, I suggest you pick that that up, too, because you'll want to laugh so hard your husband thinks there is something wrong with you, and this way you can do that with two great listens instead of just one. Erin Mallon starts us laughing during minute one, and she does not let up AT ALL! So much humor, but all well-meaning, rollicking fun. I can't even pick a favorite quote because there were too many.

The cast of narrators is simply divine. They're so perfectly cast, and they capture the spirit of their characters so well that you wonder how much of their own personalities were written into their characters. Emma Wilder, Teddy Hamilton, Shane East, Andi Arndt, Tanya Eby, Joe Arden, Maxine Mitchell, and of course our author, Erin Mallon - they all shine. It's like a whole cast of scene-stealers that share the microphone. My headphones have never sounded so good.

As a voracious romance reader and listener, I love that Erin Mallon brings up the "bad reputation" that the romance industry has among "serious" authors and readers, and addresses it with class and flourish, that she leaves her listeners feeling like we are seen, loved and understood.

If I could live in a book world for a little while, this would be it. The entertainment factor, the humor, the snark - I would absolutely thrive!

The gang is back!!!

I've listened to the first book multiple times, and I was so excited when Erin announced she was doing a sequel!

Cameron and Vera have evolved both personally and professionally. Georgia and Neil (the best recovering misogynist/production engineer) are married (not a shocker) and going through a few things. We get to meet Niffer's wife. And the absolutely adorable Atticus does some evolving of his own. And he's in love!!! This character I believe runs the widest range of emotions, hissy fits, and observations in Erin's beautiful brain child. All these narrators do such a wonderful job. They're all at the top of their games, and I am so grateful Erin was able to create the perfect party with them!

Maxine and Erin do an amazing job as the new additions to this awesome ensemble. Stick around for the bloopers, because they're so funny! Fingers crossed for TWCT3!!!

As a side note, I really need someone to write an FF/les-lit book w/Maxine and Emma as the leads. There aren't enough FF/FFF audiobooks out there that are more story than porn--not that I don't listen to the porn ones, because I do.
