Lindsey is a bestselling Science Fiction and Fantasy author who lives her life with one foot in a book—so long as that book transports her to a magical world or bends the rules of science. Her novels, from Science Fiction Adventure to Time Travel Romance, always offer a hearty dose of unreality, along with plenty of history, mystery, adventure, and romance.
When she's not working on her next novel, Lindsey spends her time hanging out with her two little boys, working in her garden, or playing board games with her husband. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family and their small pack of cats and dogs.
The biggest take away from this series is that Kat finally realized how poor her judgement is 99% of the time, but it didn’t change jack.
She finally stopped dancing around Nik. FINALLY!
I don’t understand why Kat continuously has sexual encounters with others. Is it taboo and exotic that she flirts with women? Quite frankly it’s unbelievable and unnecessary.
And is it just me or is Kat turning into some kind of clueless OP god? Don’t get me wrong, godhood is cool but I’m still wondering how she lived this long and as the badass assassin everyone claims her to be if she continues to make rash and uneducated decision.
I don't like spoilers so I won't spoil it for anyone else.
I can't get enough of Kat! I don't ever want it to end. I loved this book and I know I'll love the next. EVERY BOOK IN THIS SERIES IS WORTH THE READ!!!! Don't hesitate! It's great!
Lindsey Fairleigh continues to surprise me by exceeding my expectations. I started in Kat's world with the Echoes in Time. To say that she's been a thrill is a total understatement. She is thrilling, relatable, exciting, frustrating, but absolutely exhilarating. I personally read for escape, and this author and her characters do such an incredible job of giving me that. Well written, edited with incredible talent, I simply cannot say enough good things about these books, and this book in particular, takes it all up a notch, or 12. My kudos and heartfelt thanks go out to Ms. Fairleigh, her talent is immense and I thank her for being willing to share it with the rest of us mere mortals.
Kat Dubois find yourself in the most precarious situation. There are soul eating creatures loose and she must find a way to stop them before it's to late. The only problem is, she's the only one that can see them most of the time. As If the soul eaters weren't a big enough problem, Kat has discovered the Nick is soul mate and she's not so sure that that something she wants. There's one problem, if her and Nick are to far apart for to long the could die!😱 Book 5 was definitely the most fast-paced and nail biting chapter of the Kat Dubois story so far. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
I can't believe how fast I'm flying through this series. I'm a major mood reader and it's rare for me to stick to a series back-to-back like this, let alone an author. But..I just can't put Lindsey's books down! I started with The Echo trilogy which takes place before the Kat Dubious Chronicles.
The Echo Trilogy is about Kat's older sister, Lex. The whole trilogy is more paranormal romance. This series; the Kat Dubious Chronicles is more urban fantasy but of course, has romance in the plot!
I loved the progression of the main plot as well as the smaller plot within this book. Lindsey is fantastic at pacing and really fleshing out her characters and their development. I'm proud of Kat and how far she's come.
If you love original plot lines, urban fantasy (heck, even paranormal romance), unexpected twist ( seriously, there's unguessable twist in the plot in each and every book!), and romance, then please check out this series! *You do need to read the Echo trilogy beforehand.*
Damn! She's literally turning into a goddess for the humans. And her having a mental health challenge in this book was something so human that I could relate if it ever happened to me. For God's sake that woman died! Talk about some serious psychological damage. I do love that the author has made her bi which can again relate to the LGBT community not seen many author's doing that. Massive amount of respect. NIK and KAT have finally stop running from each other, I did not know what I would do if they still didn't kiss. And the soul bond part eh I guessed it in the first book, am a genius what can I say. I love their romance and all the sexual tension between them. Overall this book did a good job in making me go to this imaginary world and helped in forgetting everything cause I was a nervous wreck. I had my exam results today. I got 81% couldn't have been more happier.
I'll be honest, Kat is quite the hormonal B this book, however I believe she's found herself and accepted her circumstances. I personally felt there was a lot of internal development for her as she realizes how self-centered she's been and juvenile. I personally loved how she figured out about the mirror world and the Shadow People. Though, I was surprised how long it took her to figure out because once the ghost site she visited mentioned where they were concentrated, I knew immediately. I look forward to seeing how things progress for the Netjer's and hope to see some progress with the Senate and Isfret.

I loved Kat when I read the Echo Trilogy & I am so excited that she has her own series. I will say, I strongly suggest reading the Echo Trilogy before starting this series. It will give you some great backstory before diving into this own.
Kat is still battling against the results of what the Ouroboros Corporation has done. This time it is working to find a way to save all the humans from the Cascade Virus.
Kat is bound and determined to do whatever she can to save the humans, even if she had to go one at a time. This book has a whole lot of new information given that I have a feeling will come up again later on. th
This is the first book I read on the series and that was probably why I dislike Kat so much, she was such a whiner, she was supposedly a bad-ass warrior that could read some fancy tarot and had amazing powers, 3 books before this said that but I guess that since there isn't a continuity and every big chapter is a made a book, then Kat Dubois is suffering from a personality disorder. She was constantly doubting about everything, and most of the book was her inner dialogue doubting stuff.
I liked the way Kat bounced back and forth between echoes and present time. I also liked that she could see echoes of the future, but not always the exact future that would unfold. I continued to have hopes of a future relationship between Kat and Nik but just when I thought the relationship between them would grow into a true love, Kat would run away from Nik. Ms. Fairleigh kept me guessing until very near the end. All in all, it was a satisfying novel that was difficult to put down.
2 books in the series left and I'm already mourning the loss
I freaking love this series and the world that Lindsey Sparks weaves. Her subplots are just as dimensional as her main one. She may introduce new characters, but not so many that you cant keep up and always enough that you want more. The world she weaves and the lore she includes is astounding! I'm compelled to pick up the next book each time I finish 1. 2 books in the series left and I'm already mourning the loss. Happy reading!
Kat's life has just become more interesting not only is she seeing echoes, but also seeing shadows plus finding her mate in Nik. To save a candle vidal, she and Nik will need to join forces with the humans. Kit also finds out where her brother's ba really is and will Dom help her release Isfet?
Our heroine was do anything to save her universe even if it means sacrificing herself, but will she have to?
Pretty good for a 38 year old teenager, Kat continues to grow Supernaturally. Nick continues to run hot and cold and hides secrets from Kat. She is alone again except that everyone know who she is now “Goddess” and she still has a connection to Dom through the mirror. Now dreaming she has to determine if they are premonitions of another threat to humanity from the shadows.
This part of Kat's story seems to be the bridge, as she discovers her bonded mate, finds out just how far she is willing to go to save humanity, grows up some, and develops her skills. Being that there has been no direct showdown with the Senate yet, it seems that by the time she reaches her true potential, it's going to be pretty epic.
I have enjoyed all the books in the series so far--the fast-paced action scenes, and plot blended with Egyptian mythology is so interesting. But this book is my favorite so far! The relationship between Kat and Nik in this book adds a compelling romantic subplot, in addition to the continuing plotlines from the last book, had me turning pages! Could not put it down!
I've always thought of souls as beautiful. I love how this book's message seems to say that we're stronger than we know. Still not sure what to think of Isfet and the Nejerets.
This book tricks you into believing things and then changes it in the end. I loved it! The heartbreak, the many Epiphany of Kat. Lists of twists, and lots of making sense.
In length, the last two books should have been one book. It is fine since I read them both in under four hours in KU, but I’d have been frustrated if I had to purchase them.
So, in the last book Kat saved humanity for a horrible disease. Now there are ghosts haunting a local high school, and even through she's supposed to be keeping a low profile, she just has to see what's going on. And now she finds something move vile that needs to be stopped.
This series is becoming one of my favorites. I love the combination of action romance and Egyptian mythology/deities. I hope there are many more books to come.
Great continuation of Kat's story. You find out more of what she is capable of and what might be in store for her and her world in the future. Very creative storyline and I can't wait to read more.
