*sigh*

Yep this has taken an unpleasant turn for me in the romantic department. I am ok with multiple mates but me this is getting ridiculous. Quinn has far too many claims and I am having a very hard time with this. The unfairness of it to some of these mates is aggravating. I know she is a siren but come on ....this is too much.

With the exception of the plethora of mating's the storyline is pretty good still with some mystery.

I have come too far not to finish, so on I go.

Happy reading

4.5.

Well, that was a fully packed book with so much action, revelations and relationship development.

It's hard to say too many specifics, as it will just give away so many spoilers, but we get lots of answers to past questions, such as the origins of the taint and more of Quonn's heritage. We also get some glimpses i to the world under the sea and Quinn comes back to land with a bit more than she bargained for!

I really liked the development of her relationships with Bryce, Emmit and Jax. I love the way they are presented as an alien, bestial race with ways so different to humans.

Quinn was someone I didn't insta lntly love in the first book, but she is someone I have definitely come to respect and I loved her growth in this book.

I highly recommend this series.

Book three picks up pretty much where book 2 leaves off and it takes off like a rocket! Quinn is after answers about her heritage and she won't be satisfied until she gets them. She has agreed to mate her three fated mates but only after she gets to know them a little bit more. there is a deadline that has been set and as it draws nearer she finds it harder and harder to wait. We get more answers as to who/what the taint is and what role Quinn is to fill with it.

All the characters are developing really well into their own. They each have their own personalities and you really get a feel for how things work and where each person ranks in that world. We get more info and more interaction with Emmit, which is very exciting. He has always been the really strong silent type so to see him interacting more really does give us something more to look forward to. Another person we see more of is Dillion. We met him briefly as the owner/bartender of the local bar but we never got too much from him. This book turns that on its head as we find out the Dillion has been hiding a MASSIVE secret.

So much happens in this book that you are always on the edge of your seat. There is never a dull moment and you will find yourself holding your breath the whole way through. Debbie Cassidy has done a fantastic job at creating a new word as well as a new breed of shifter. The descriptions are fantastic and really make the story come alive. I really do look forward to the next book and I am at a loss as to what can happen, I have stopped trying to guess!

I really do not think that there is one of Debbie's books that I just do not like.

Quinn is amazing, and her mates are just as equally as amazing. But that is never a problem with one of her series. She always has the most interesting characters.

And the plot!! Always having the most interesting storylines. I never get bored with any of them.

In A Shifter's Heart there is plenty of character development. Quinn is a great female lead who is good for her guys. I really liked finding out more about her linage. I cannot wait for more!

It's time like this that I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I think this is probably my new favorite set by this author. I love the sci-fi feeling moments, I can't get enough of this story!! Every puzzle piece, every bread crumb, I highlight and obsess over and get so excited when things come together! The dialogue is amazing, the action and steam are perfection and I love these characters so much! I love the anticipation, this author really knows how to keep you hooked and craving more!

Quinn has finally got some answers about who she is and how she came to be. Does she like the answers? No, but not she has to deal with them and stop the taint before it takes over the whole world.

I'm loving Quinn's story and I really like that although she has bond marks with her mates she still asks for time to get to know them before finalise the bond.

I was kindly provided with an ARC by the author, but I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.

From the pulse-pounding start to the shocking ending this book is a deadly, emotional ride for Quinn and her mates. Quinn has a brutal awakening and a treacherous journey ahead of her as she struggles to separate truth from lie, acceptance and understanding from confrontation and challenge, dangerous enticements, heartbreaking betrayal, new connections, warring emotions, and loss. In a search for answers an imminent threat hovers in the distance while her promised deadline nears, along with the constant taunting of the taint. Enlightening revelations are made along with a close call with death when Quinn finally understands her place and comes to terms with decisions that are dire to herself and her mates. When an unexpected and urgent event surges forth, the relationship dynamics will be forever changed between Quinn, Bryce, Emmit, and Jax while the taint waits in the shadows issuing its’ final demand. One life possibly lost and Quinn’s forced compliance in the end of their world.

There is a smorgasbord of activity in this book. It’s emotional, action-packed, edge-of-your-seat goodness that will steal your breath. Yes, there’s a cliffhanger. And yes, it will make you want the next book now. There’s so, so much…I really wish I had it in my hands. Another fantastic read!

OMG Debbie Cassidy has done it again. This book grabbed me as soon as I started reading and it was impossible to put down! It kicks off tights where book two finished..but there is so much going on in this book that the pages seem to flick through themselves! Quinn has gotten better and better as the series continued, initially she was not my favourite FMC but her character has developed over the series and I really enjoy reading about her…she is strong, independent, intriguing but she learning to think from others POV instead of stonewalling everything. I enjoyed reading the deepening the connect with Emmit, Jax and Bryce…I especially like how much we learn about Emmit, the connection actually gets so much deeper. I also liked Pontus and what he brings to the story (no spoilers!). But that ending…OMG Debbie how could you leave us like that! I wanted book four immediately and cannot wait to see what comes next! Bring on more from this very talented author.

Best one yet!

This was the best one yet. We get tons of more information about the world in which Quinn lives. We get to learn more about her, though I dislike her stalling tactics and I wish she’d communicate slightly better. Still it wasn’t anyone’s fault that she went where she shouldn’t, and they didn’t tell her she shouldn’t have been there.

In addition to this, we learn more about Quinn’s family, and her siren side of things, as well as a few other things happen. Especially with Tate. I also dislike that Quinn befriended Willow, especially since Willow was someone who was trying to get with Tate. I really expected her to betray Quinn, and be super shady, it made their scenes together difficult to read with this expectation. But surprisingly she hasn’t done anything shady despite her random odd expressions.

Overall I’m intrigued in where this is going.

RH - MMMMM/Supernaturals/Enemies to Lovers

SYNOPSIS (of 5 book Series): This story is set in a world where supernaturals and humans coexist. The FC (Quinn) believes she is part human/part Lycan but is unable to shift. As a result she is treated as a bit of an outsider by her pack. She is fated mates with the Alpha’s younger son and her father is Beta. To earn a place for herself in the pack she has become a top enforcer. Quinn’s mother left when she was 3 and her father has always treated her badly and never supported her. Quinn is rejected by her mate and receives an inheritance of a house in Hawthorne Cove. Hawthorne Cove is a place where all supernaturals and humans can live under their own law, protected by an ancient artefact but it does not allow Lycans admittance. Initially Quinn goes to Hawthorne Cove with her best friend Theo to try and steal the artefact as she thinks this will allow her to return to her pack and have a place their which the Alpha has promised but only if she returns with the artefact. The story covers Quinn meeting her other mates, learning that she is not part human but part something else and learning that the artefact is needed to protect not just Hawthorne Cove but the world from an evil called the Taint which wants to destroy the world. There’s plenty of drama and heat with a final battle and HEA in Book 5.

If I could have given this series a 3.5 overall then I would. The writing and editing were good with not too many errors. On the whole this was a decent series but there were some real frustrations that materially detracted from my enjoyment of the story. The world building and back story were solid enough and provided in bits and pieces as the story progressed.

As mentioned by previous reviewers, the author does not so much build Quinn’s character so you can see she is strong and kick ass but just tells you she is both i.e. by telling you how she dresses - yes, leather and a long coat and plenty of weapons - but without any real description of situations where she has shown her strength. I don’t think I ever got a real description of the FC but just had to cobble one together. I prefer to see evidence of a character’s persona and not just be told. The FC irritated me through most of Book 1. She’s supposed to be strong yet she is willing to steal an ancient artefact and leave a town unprotected just so that she can get a position in a pack that have treated her like dirt and where there is no actual certainty she will get what she’s been promised. It took too long for the FC to come to her senses. It took me a while to get over this level of selfishness and weakness and to buy into the apparent selflessness and niceness of the FC which the author then tried to portray.

The story is not unique - FC finds she is more than human and is, in fact an incredibly powerful hybrid; FC is some incredibly kind, generous and selfless individual who is catnip for all her mates; FC is the only one who can save the world. Having said that it is still an enjoyable romp and the story keeps moving. Heat level is above average but not too OTT or plentiful that it overtakes the story.

Unfortunately, by the end of Book 5 I felt there were a number of frustrating holes and unfinished business. The relationship with Dillon was very underdeveloped and having made the whole “immortal” piece a big issue the author just waived it off at the end with a side reference to it being no problem to achieve. It was also hard to correlate the fact that he was a god with the fact that he seemed to be able to do very little to help the FC in any situation.

There were situations that were raised but not resolved - Henrik, for example. Why was this not revisited and why was he not punished or something done about him and what he was doing? With Willow, the climax of this story line was unsatisfying and you never find out what happened afterwards. The situation with the Mageri and their treatment of the Onyx mages was also unresolved. The carnival piece came a bit out of the blue and seemed more of a plot device than organic to the story - it was suddenly introduced as a big reveal and then over with. Finally, what happened to Quinn’s father? Did her mother and grandmother every regret their behaviour? Why was Ward allowed to get away with everything he did? Did Theo resolve his issues about being part of a harem?

I get the author was trying to portray Quinn as perfect and selfless but honestly, ensuring evil is destroyed is also important. It was beyond annoying to have all these evil, nasty individuals just be allowed to get away with what they had done and not be held to account. The climax itself was a “blink and you miss it” finale. After wading through 5 Books the author could not be bothered to provide a decent climax and ending. I mean, the FC is not even the last person you hear from in the book, it’s Nyx. One of my biggest pet peeves is an author who drags you through a long drawn out story and then tries to wrap everything up in a few pages. That’s what this author did and it is beyond annoying and insulting to me as a reader!

So, in summary, a decent enough series if you can overlook the holes and frustrating ending and don’t think too deeply about anything 😬

If you want to know if they bang in this book the answer is yea. At the very end, as in the final 10 pages so skip ahead if you want some (piss poor and disappointing) release. But otherwise? This story was trash. This book was all about that orgasm denial and it isn't a cute look.

3 books, 3 BOOKS into this series with 5 (count em, 5!) mates and the heroine can't do more than heavy petting with any of them? A pack of nonsense if I ever heard it.

At the beginning of this series Quinn was a badass who had her heart ripped out by the lycan clan she taught was family, so when she gets a package from her mother's estate telling her she's now the proud owner of a sprawling seaside mansion she grabs onto it like a lifeline. And what's a better way to get over heartbreak and give the middle finger to the people who never considered her a part of the pack if not fucking off to a mansion by the sea, in a community none of the other pack members can even get into? But of course abusers gonna manipulate and they dangle one juicy berry in front of Quinn and she capitulates to their ridiculous request. And the thing is I understood her reasoning, she's a victim who went through years of emotional abuse with barely any support and abandonment issues, so yea her rash decisions make sense in hindsight and foresight. And leading a life of trickery and subterfuge while in this new town doesn't leave much room for, ahem, intimate exchanges. Which is fine, there's plenty of slow burn heat to keep us warm.

With the second book the calling, the revelations about her genetic makeup and where and how she fits into the world she inhabits I can see how stress doesn't lead to any happy times but my patience was starting to wear thin. This series was starting to feel like a bait and switch. This *wasn't* a paranormal romance, this was a fantasy novel with some romantic aspects. Some may call this a story twist, I call it an annoyance.

By this third installment I was getting really fed up with Quinn and her dotishness. (Which as I step back I wonder if this isn't related to the feeling that this story does not a four book arc.) By her own admission Quinn realizes that her need to 'find out who I really am' and 'what's my purpose' is putting her mates and herself at risk because her self doubt and insecurities is what's allowing the evil to manipulate her. And she still refuses to fuck them. Let's be clear here, Quinn isn't some blushing virgin or some maidenly ingenue, she's a 25 year old woman who had a mate beforehand, and who grew up in a lycan pack. She knows the mechanics of consummating a mating bond, understands the importance of it, understands how much stronger she'll get at resisting the manipulations, understands how she's weakening the alpha and thereby the rest of the pack by not consummating and yet she doesn't. Which is fucking odd because a lot of time was spent spewing how full of heart and selfless Quinn is. Okay, sure.

It was also during this installment that the writing got sloppier and the twists that the author gave us was surprising but not necessary. I don't give a fuck about Tate's parents yet we got the background story on them - unnecessary. We got a brief history on how onyx mages are made - unnecessary. (Which was a pet peeve of mine, they kept referring to dark mages as onyx which made me think briefly that they turned into stone. As in the mages turned onyx after some traumatic life event, just say BLACK MAGES or DARK MAGES)
We also find out that Quinn isn't only a siren but one from the royal house. So to sum it up Quinn is: a siren from the ruling royal house, an alpha lycan, an apex rial-whatever, and a demi-god. At this point is there anything this overpowered Mary Sue can't be? If only to avoid fucking any of her men? What annoyed me greatly about this whole scenario is that Quinn isn't repulsed by any of the men, she is attracted to them physically and that bs about wanting to establish an emotional connection was just bs because she showed she can put that on the back burner and consummate a bond. But of course by the time she decides to put her 'apprehension' aside its too late and she fucked up the relic. Which I hate to say it wouldn't have happened if she had JUST. FUCKED. A. MATE. PREVIOUSLY!

So as I said in the beginning, this very slow burn, will they-won't they, was dragged out far too long over a heroine used her insecurities as a crutch.

Also, if this was a fantasy story told over two books? Awesome. A four book romance? Nah, that's foolishness.

Unique and interesting

This is such an interesting series so far. When I read book 1, I really didn't know what to think. The FMC was allowing herself to be taken advantage of, putting herself into a situation she didn't understand at the behest of those wanting to use her. I found the book unique and interesting enough to read book 2, which actually made the story more interesting.

So here we are book 3, Tate is away learning to control his Onyx Mage powers, Quinn on the verge of mating with her 3 Faodlah mates while dealing with the Taint.

I did find this book interesting and compelling enough that I almost gave it 5 stars. The Faodlah are very intriguing as a shifter type and I honestly think its the description of them and their culture that keep me interested because I really want to see how the author evolves them in their relationship journey. In books 1 & 2, we got to know both Jax and Bryce quite a bit, but in this book we finally learn more about Emmit.

Its a little disappointing how little we see of Tate in this book. Understandable given his circumstances and I'm sure his absence this book is to get him ready for a much bigger role moving forward, and I look forward to see what being an onyx mage will mean for him and Quinn and the upcoming events.

Now Dillon. So we met Dillon in book 1, and there's always been something there. I'm not sure what I though about the events involving him in this book, it felt very predictable and a bit cliche. In fact as soon as certain comments were made about him, it became very obvious who Quinn was and what would happen. While I'm sure Dillon will have a large part to play going forward, and I'm a bit interested to see how things will play out, the section involving him in this book wasn't my favourite, it almost felt out of place and extra.

Overall, I think my favourite part of this book was getting to know Emmit further, and considering his role in previous books was more of a side character, but now he has moved more into the forefront and more developed as a character.

This book ends on a cliffhanger with things looking to be heading in a very bad direction and thankfully the next book is due in November so not too far away.

Tattered threads

Quinn is working on a countdown. The darkness is still trying to take over. She has days left to complete her mate bonds. She can't seek her siren family if she's trapped on land by the bonds, so even less time to find and talk to them. And she's slowly going crazy worrying about Tate.

Spoilers ahead.
Trigger warnings for assault attempts. Kelpies don't like no as an answer. And another scene where her mate bond triggers one of her mates who suffers from a condition that puts him in instinct mode and shuts his brain pretty much off. He does stop because she's able to get through to him. But it bears mentioning for sensitive readers. Tate doesn't feature much in this one but we do learn quite a lot about him that even he didn't know. We get an revelation about a mysterious character that's been floating in the background for a while now. And I think if I had read this series first I probably wouldn't have read the Morningstar one. Because of all the assaults occuring. If I didn't know the author was capable of conflicts that weren't assaults I probably would have abandoned this series after the Book 2. And, honestly, if the next book goes similarly I probably will abandon this series and just hang around for the last Morningstar one. It leaves me wary about the other books by this author. Did they improve and pave a new path with Morningstar? Or is it just this series with all the assault threats and attempted assaults? Because if this is going to be the theme of this series, it isn't working for me.

Edit to change my original 3 down to a 1 because after the 4th book I'm done with authors with no respect for readers. Three books in a row of s*xual assault themes and a r*pe by her mate. And not a single warning anywhere.

This was one of the most convoluted storylines I have ever read. I started the first book because I wanted to read a shifter book. Based on the description that is what I was going to get. Then the storyline just kept getting weirder and weirder. It’s as if the author decided to take 12 different books and throw them all into one series. Aliens? Sirens? Demons? Vampires? Sea gods? Beastly creatures? Faeries? And there are about just as many POV’s to boot. Not only that but there is no mention this was going to be a Reverse Harem book (which I would not have read. I simply thought there was going to be a love triangle. Then the heroine seems to be related to everyone powerful, and she ends up having more mates who are different species than makes sense. I honestly felt like I needed to keep taking notes because I had no idea what was going on, and it started to become hard to follow who and what each character was. I’ll give it to the author for being creative, but this series does not make any sense, and is just utter nonsense to be honest. I have to say that but it’s the truth. The heroine also has sex with so many people I don’t know how you can keep up. The world is ending? My life is over? Let’s throw in a random sex scene and add a new mate with mystical powers of their own. I read through to the end because it was in KU and I wanted to know how ridiculous the story would get by the end. In that sense, it did not disappoint. I also couldn’t get over the repetition of certain words. Unfortunately, this is an author I do not recommend nor will I ever read again.

If it doesn't, k!ll ya, it should make you stronger, right?

Fast-paced, action-packed, suspense filled read that had me in a chokehold with thumbnail on my pulse.
Quinn survived the Calling, with the help of the Faoladh. Bryce marked her as his mate. In turn, she marked Jax and Emmet as hers. Quinn is reluctant to consummate these bonds as she loves Tate and he is MIA at the moment. Armed with new info on her mother's family, Quinn ventures off to find her siren tail, only to find betrayal, tradegy, and a new suitor. Pontus a sea deity. But the darkness of the taint has gained advantage, and Quinn is on the verge of losing. Forced choices, twisting darkness, self doubt, and unknown enemies lurking has left this book on cliffhanger, and my nerves frayed. Beyond gripping, thrilling, and seductive. I am off the read book 4. I am truly grateful that I found this series completed because that ending was rough.

Trope:
Mates. Sirens. Deities. Betrayal. Mystery. Paranormal beings. Found family. Friends to lovers. Heat. Close proximity. Why choose. Enemies to lovers.

Quotes:
“Bryce say you find beast.” “Yeah, I did. I guess that means I’ve unlocked an achievement.”

His chest rattled softly. “For what it worth, I not care about death, not until now. Now I not want to die. I have reason to live.”

"...You’re her real anchor, Tate. You’ve always grounded her, and she’ll need you now more than ever. So f--- the preconceptions. F--- what people say about your kind and embrace the power, because that power could be exactly what saves the woman you love.”

Quinn's journey was not an easy one from the start, but the more questions appear and the more some of them get actually answered, the more dangerous it gets. And now more than ever she has to face challenges that almost cost her life, threaten what she holds dear, and try to break her.
The pull to the pack is becoming almost irresistible, yet Quinn's heart has enough space to accommodate Tate, some of the sirens that hold the key to learning the truth about her half-heritage, and even some of the fae. However the taint, the darkness, has upped her game, and with some shocking claims she seems to hold aces in her hand to manipulate Quinn.
The usual rollercoaster of action, adventure, and crazy emotions that are all over the place cannot be missed also in this book. Debbie creates amazing characters, full of life and as unique as (non)human beings can be, easy to understand and create connection to. I absolutely love to see how the pack dynamics now develops with Quinn in the center, and after the cliffhanger, I am also very much invested in what can be still done to prevent a complete disaster.

Overall this series is fine. The action is good and the world building is alright. My biggest problem is with the main characters. I don't like the whiny heroine with deep insecurities that are borderline crippling (it reads as more YA than adult to me) and in making the heros "alien wolves" she's made them too unrelatable in terms of a human relationship. Things are very slowly starting to turn in respect to that aspect, but we're at the end of book 3 in a 5 book completed series. 😏 So it feels very much like a pacing issue to me. I like a slow burn, but this is a no burn to a burn off the pages in the last couple books. The same issue is at play for the heroine's growth. She's still making red shirt 101 errors at the end of Book 3. 🤨 So what easy button is she going to push in 2 books to make an HEA at all believable within the scope of this world?! That being said, the side characters are truly delightful. Anytime Bea, Grumble or Meri are on page it's lovely.

Takes the reader further into romance and self discovery

Quinn, the beta’s daughter, has abandoned the mission she was on for her pack the information she discovered in A Shifter’s Trial and is now getting to know her new mates Bryce, Emmit, and Jax, all Faoladh an ancient breed of shifter, while dealing with the startling revelation forced on her at the end of that book. As the story progresses promises are made, lines are crossed, and getting to the truth of their origins and beliefs could bring doom to all. Debbie Cassidy’s A Shifter’s Heart takes the reader further into romance and self discovery for the characters while also tangling the web of danger around them even tighter. Poor Quinn just can’t win no matter what she does even though her heart seems to love without limits.

I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

I for one am a fan of character development and growth within a series. This makes the story and the characters relatable and real. Through this story, Quinn has been headstrong, naive, willfully blind/dense, and a whole lot prickly. BUT through each of the books Quinn has changed. She’s adapted to her new surroundings. She begun to recognize and try to deal with her flaws, acknowledged her faults, and started stripping her blinders. Never afraid to be vocal, Quinn is speaking up for the “little guy,” and herself.

This character development and masterful story telling are why this book, this series, and this author are so wonderful! I was pulled into Hawthorne Cove and wasn’t ready to leave on the last page. I could see myself and people I know in the characters. S world that doesn’t exist came to life for me, and THAT make for an awesome read.

This book starts where book 2 left off, and it really doesn't stop until the end. I have no idea how so much could be packed into one book.
Quinn is now accepting Hawthorne Cove as her home, but she wants to tie up some loose ends before she commits fully to the Pack - and that's where all the action happens. She seems to jump from one adventure to the next.
Quinn started off as a determined but weak human hybrid, but as her character grows and she finds out more about her past she gets stronger, not just physically but mentally.
I missed Tate in this book, but I enjoyed getting to know her mates better. There are lots of characters to get to know and there are so many twists in the story that you really don't know what's going to happen next, or who she might meet.
Definitely looking forward to the next book.

This is the third book in this series, and Quinn is getting stronger and stronger each book. She started out as such a “weak” character, but as she learns more about herself, her confidence grows, and she really grows more as a character. In this latest, we learn more about the taint and how it relates to Quinn and the world. While that’s happening, Quinn is growing closer to her men and finding out more about her own ancestry. There is a big reveal in this book, well, maybe a few, but one I was really glad about. I hope we get to see more Tate and Quinn’s friends in the next one; I really like them, too. Great addition, and I after the big cliffhanger, I need to find out what happens. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

So book one and book two were completely amazing and this book didn’t live up to initial standards the author set. This book was an information dumb. There was more information about Quinn’s origins, her powers and the effect of the Taint on her. There was more focus on developing her relationship with Emmitt while her relationship with Bryce didn’t evolve. But there was just too much going and the book was all over the place. The purpose of this book was to show how amazing, powerful, unique and not-like-everyone-else Quinn was and it got boring really quick. I think the breaking point for me with this book was when an unnecessary love interest was abruptly thrown into the story. A sea-dwelling love interest who has to tie himself to Quinn in order to save her life is pretty low effort. It’s also more irritating considering that this exact same plot was used in book 3 of the author’s Deadworld book.

The characters in Debbie Cassidy's book can never catch a break, and Quinn is no different. She's accepting her new life in Hawthorne more and more, including the mates that seemed to come as part of the package deal, but there are still things she wants to learn about herself. And in true Cassidy heroine style, they always end up in positions they probably don't want to find themselves in and biting off more than they can chew.

A Shifter's Heart kicks off pretty much where book two ended and things are piled on from the get-go. There is so much going on in just one book, and I loved every minute of it. It was a truly epic journey from start to finish, and one hell of a rollercoaster ride.

Really can't wait for the next book.

Oh boy! Things are so hot in the Cove right now!
I ADORE Quinn. This series is up there as one of my absolute favorites with Reapers, Arcana, Midnight, and Dragons of Cassidy’s. Every time I get one of these books I CANNOT put them down.

Quinn is tough, loving, smart, strong, and brave! She will do what needs to be done for those she loves even if it kills her.
The guys she has marked as mates are entirely too hot to handle. Boy let me tell you, I would love some Bryce, Jax and Emmit!
These characters are interesting, hilarious, and will hook you into their story.
This book threw us some loops and introduced someone new and let me tell you I was SCREAMING. So excited. Seriously, I can’t wait for the next book.

Do yourself a favor and read this series!

The Ending

I do want to like this MC. I like her best friends and the family feel.

What I don’t like is instant forgiveness. The MC almost immediately forgives the alpha for trying to kill her and her mates for watching it happen. Just lets it go after 2 seconds of anger.

In addition, the fact that women are forced to die or mate with strangers does not seem to bother her. In what way is this ok? It does bother her that they can not see family and is stuck in a prison like situation where they are forced to have kids. I guess that is a relief that there is a line.

Spoiler
But what bothered me the most is the ending. It was stupid. No one gives up the entire world for someone they just met.

so many good things

Let me count the waaaaaays. The beasts she’s falling for are BEASTS. They don’t have human emotions but they’re trying for her. She’s strong and can admit when she’s wrong. She has beautiful friends who easily give her their loyalty and choose her as family. There’s family drama and world-dooming drama and I’m constantly being teased about the actual amount of trouble everyone is in because of her. It’s just epic.

The sexy times and teases are awesome. Very hot. And I’m just always hit with entertainment as the story progresses.

Dual POV. I definitely feel conflicted with where she’ll end up and if I’m questioning it, the book’s doing a good job. I’m so invested right now.

Oh Wow!!! Quinn continues to battle with her draw to the pack, missing Tate and understanding what she is. During this book she takes a perilous journey to discover her Siren heritage and in doing so discovers aspects of her past that she wasn’t expecting.
Full of action, plenty of sizzle and steam with world building and character development which is beyond AMAZING and second to none this series has it all including a female MC that we see grow in strength and character from book to book.
The ending was completely unexpected and is another delicious cliff hanger which leaves you desperate for the next book.

I am enamoured by Miss Cassidy and all the amazing worlds she has created in her writing. The third book in this series opened the world building up even more with a closer look at the Fae side and the Undersea, and I am so here for it all.

One of my favourite romance, fantasy, and RH writers, Debbie's storytelling never disappoints.

The harem is growing, and I can't wait to see the twists that come in the next book. I like seeing the MC starting to grow and gather understand herself more. She was a meek mouse in book one after the neglect of her childhood, but she is now becoming independent, unapologetic, and free.

Quinn’s story continues in book three of the Wolves of Hawthorne Cove series by Debbie Cassidy. I can’t recommend this book and series enough. It just keeps getting better and better.
The character development and the world building is on point. This story is full of action, danger, steam, and learning the truths of their heritage. I enjoyed the under the sea part of the book. Can’t wait for everything to come together in the next book. This story ends on a cliffhanger that has me waiting on the edge of my seat for more.
I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving an arc copy for an honest review.
