Another great book of a thrilling series.
For me personally this one was harder to get into than the others, but I honestly couldn't tell you why, as it was good but then it became great. I think maybe I just missed the characters that we've grown to love, so became more engrossed when they popped up.
This couple definitely grew on me though and I loved how they took everything in their stride and had each others backs once trust was built.
Do they finally get to live the life they deserve filled with love and family?
Definitely recommend you read to find out.
Already eagerly awaiting the next book.

This was a really good read, and a great addition to this series! It was really interesting to see a dynamic that was outside of the families, and I really enjoyed that. It was enthralling, thrilling and exciting. My one complaint is inconsistency. It wasn't major inconsistencies, but it was enough to give me pause on small scenes. I think it was more of my OCD that caught it, but it absolutely had nothing to do with the major plot or anything like that. This author as always knocked this one out of the park. It was hard to put down and I absolutely can not wait to read the next installment to this series!

I loved it! If you enjoy reading romance stories about Mafia families, then this is a good series for you! It's best to read all of the books in order because there is character development that you would not want to miss, and there are innuendos referring to situations that appeared in earlier books. This story is not for the faint of heart because Mafia stories include both blood and fear, but you can safely enjoy the story from the comfort of your favorite reading place. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Nothing comes close to how amazing this series is! This author has written 5 amazing books that only get stronger as they go. This book had the right amount of angst, and a good bity of mystery that also intertwined parts that were steamy, suspenseful, intense, and unpredictable, I was prepared to finish this book in one sitting because there is not putting it down with this series.

Luc and Summer had passion and fire together. The chemistry from that one night proved to be enough for a life time. Summer was tough and felt smart and fearless. Luc was a pure Alpha who was complex and not easily trusting of those around him, but still charming enough to make his lady swoon. Their relationship begins unconventionally, but soon blossoms to be more if they can make it through the Mafia underworld in once piece. As Summer's secrets soon prove to be bigger than believed it becomes a question of if that pull they feel is enough, and if Luc is the one who will save her or walk away.

Wow.....I continue to love and be all in on this series and this book does NOT disappoint!!!

I love the chemistry between Luc and Summer in this book. I love a strong female character and Summer's character was totally fantastic! Summer is on the run, trying to escape her roommate's boyfriend, Ben. Summer ends up fleeing to Chicago, and ends up meeting up with Luc for a night of fun. Luc, whom is a very successful businessman but finds out he is the head of the Brambilla mafia family. Little did Summer know that who her new boss is at her job...ends up being Luc. There are plenty of twist and turns in this story along with secrets and danger. Will Luc protect Summer from what is to come? Definitely read and find out!!

I am so looking forward to the next book in this series!!!

If she had a chance she would run from me, and I had to learn what part she played with the men who plotted against me…and who Max Caruso was.

Luc Savino has worked hard to rise to the top and come from the streets with a smart head…and hard fists that have strengthened everything inside of him. Taking over a new business should have been a simple walk in the park, only someone is playing games with his money and the pretty blonde from the previous night hook-up could be the very source…that is until a dark haired male oozing with power turns up in his office.

With very little choice, Luc follows this stranger's lead and not wanting to let Summer out of sight until this matter of the missing money is sorted out, Luc drags her along with him to Chicago.

“Your birthright-you’re in line to be boss of the Brambilla family-and accepted within the Five Families.”

Everything is soon unfolded and a new path now lies before Luc…including a family unlike any other. Luc however, still needs Summer’s help and together they form an alliance working together on the new business and Luc starts to uncover the depths within the mafia families accepting his crown within the families.

I felt a kinship with her. Those of us who grew up or spent time on the streets at some point would always recognize one another.

There is something about Summer that is luring Luc in closer, that one night was not enough and with each day that passes that electric current is sparking up each time they touch. But all is not as it seems, Luc can sense that Summer is hiding something and that fear behind her eyes, Luc can’t work it out.

As each event happens it becomes clear that Summer might be in danger…but who from and will his new family support them in this fight?

There was no choice-I want her. And not just once. I want all of her, days and nights.

Luc & Summer…<3 A slow burn heated couple! Once they got over and forgave each other, these two actually had a very sweet relationship. It was different and they were thrown together through circumstances but this worked really well for them both. Trust was a work in process, with the mistrust at the start and then Summer holding her secrets close to her chest. I loved when everything came out in the open, it was a slow burn even with the night they shared but now they are building a relationship together. It’s sweet and adds in the family antics helping to push these two together too!

“It matters because the wives are just as dangerous as the bosses they’re married to.”

I think my favourite chapters were when all of the family was together! Just all the wives, the bosses and then as a whole group! I loved those scenes, we know the characters from the previous books so now seeing them all together with their husbands…yes perfect! Then how they accepted or rather adopted Summer along with Luc into the fold…was great to see and have different characters added to the group.

The twists and new leads to other families are now starting to seep into the story now which is opening up new and exciting leads on where this story could go!

“I’m your judge, jury and if needed, executioner.”

Luc Savino is the heir to a Mafia throne, but he is unaware of that, he has success in in his life, a business he has built from the ground up and a determination which keeps him wanting more. Summer Johansson is a woman determined to be better than her childhood, she wants to have a life without worrying where the money for the next bill is coming from, or whether she can afford to eat, but her current temp job is allowing her that, although not by much.

When Summer was attacked in her home by a Mafia boss, she grabbed what she could and left, with little left and less opportunities in her future, she asked for help and managed to keep under the radar, that is until she found out her best friend had been murdered, she forgot her own rules and ended up in a bar and then the arms of a handsome stranger for the night, but when she wakes up and realised she is late for work, she panics knowing that this is not the day to be late. Meanwhile, Luc is preparing himself to meet the employees of his new company, as well as delegating out work he needs completing so he can get a better idea of the structure, personnel needs and future plans, however when he comes face to face with the mystery woman from the night before, he is determined to find out more about her.

As Summer races into the office, she sees her old boss being dragged out and shouting about something, but she is in too much of a hurry, however when she sees the new boss coming out of his office, she doesn’t know how to react and when she is about to bolt, he stops her and demands to how why she was about to leave and why her former boss was accusing her of being a spy, this is when she finds that her plan to stay under the radar is about to be blown sky high. Shortly after this, another Mafia boss enters Summer’s life, although this time it is because of Luc, the boss wants them to go on a plane to Chicago with him where he has somethings to talk to Luc about.

With all the lies which are flying around when they arrive in Chicago, Luc will not let sleeping dogs lie with Summer, but as they become closer, the attraction they are desperately trying to deny comes to the fore, but can they forgive the secrets and lies which lie between them? This is a dark romantic suspense which is full of action, emotion and betrayal as worlds collide and truths will out in this story which will keep you on the edge of your seat and hooked until you know what happens.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Well I am not going to lie and say that it was not hard to get into. I was on the struggle bus big time. Then just as suddenly as I was about to give it up and not finish it got very interesting. This is the story of Summer and her roommate get her entangled in with a mafia boss in New York and he wants her dead so she runs to California and starts her life all over again. I swear though this girl has the worst taste in men because her one night stand in California leads her into another mess with the Chicago mafia. This is really bad news for her because Chicago isn't that far from New York and New York is where all her trouble is and she holds on to a whole lot of secrets. Now here is where I struggled. There are so many characters in this book that your just all over the place trying to remember who is who and what is what and who goes with what. It's not a bad book at all it just got gaaaaah so hard to keep up with all the characters and the things going on in the book.

OTT mafia rom - sweet and steamy some violence

I am totally invested in this world! I absolutely love that the women of the 5 Families Mafia are total baddies and the men that love them might be super Alpha, but damn do they love their girls. Luc and Summer were the perfect addition!!

This story is no different. It is filled with angst (especially the beginning), some major swoon in the form of super sexy and cocky Luc, a bit of mystery, a dash of spice and a touch of violence.

While this story does end in an HEA and can be read as a standalone, there is so much more to come with added mystery to the overarching story. (Story within a story). I can’t wait for the next one!!!!

We are finally introduced to Luc, the head of the Brambilla Family and last boss of the 5 families in Chicago, and his girl Summer. Summer is very complicated, and on the run. Luc and Summer’s relationship started off with a one night stand and got a little rocky with a case of mistaken identity. But they really fell for each other while working together and facing serious challenges and death threats. Luc is pretty dang swoony. He has that possessive protector alpha nailed.

Summer fits in perfectly with the other mafia wives. She is strong and sassy despite her feeling like an outsider and unwanted because of her childhood. I loved how all the wives and bosses rally around Summer. They accept her as one of them. Summer can fight her own battles and accept that life isn’t always rainbows and butterflies, it can be guns and violence too… and that’s OK.

The Church wedding tradition continues. One of my favorite parts of the series!

I love AM mafia elite series because I get a little action to go with the OTT romance. I am a sucker for a mafia boss that falls completely in love with the right woman and does everything he can to protect her and make her happy. Add in a heroine that doesn’t take crap and is no damsel in distress. AM has this nailed and I am so there for it.

Ruthless Heir is an edition of the Mafia Elite that revolves around Luc. Luc is a successful business man that came from nothing with a troubled background. Luc absorbed a new business in California and when he meets part of his staff, he recognizes the assistant, the one night stand from the night before. Summer, the assistant, is surprised to find that her fling from the night before is her new boss, but even more surprised when he misinterprets a conversation and accuses her of stealing his money. Summer ran from the accusation due to a shady past dealing with the New York mafia; she has been on the run from them for about 6 months. After Luc catches her trying to escape his office, they are interrupted by a Chicago mafia boss, Max. Summer panics because she thinks he is there for her, however, Luc is unaware that Max is there because he is an heir to the Brambilla mafia family. Both are instructed to go with Max to Chicago. The rocky start Luc and Summer have quickly turns into something deeper, just in the knick of time too since the New York mafia family has found her in Chicago.

I am just so in love with this series. Just like all the others, the author writes in a way that you are never bored, each chapter brings meaning, and you quickly flow through the story and never want to put the book down. While these may not be my favorite of all the characters throughout the books, they still were presented where you couldn’t help but fall in love with them. Summer is a girl who has worked her whole life just to have a little bit of anything. Her upbringing provided her with an attitude of work hard for what you want and take the opportunities presented to you. While she is kind, she also won’t take crap from anyone, including Luc. Luc is that character that you want to slap, but you know his heart is in the right place. I do love his commitment and possessiveness to keeping Summer safe though. I will always be willing to read a book in this series!!

**Contains Spoiler**

After reading the previous books in the series I was curious to know how both the leads being outsiders would play out and how they would bond with the five families. But they blend in right along the group.

This book has many of my favourite tropes which made the read enjoyable and having my favourite characters from the previous books was a cherry on top.

Luc and Summer have a very different and unexpected start with a one night stand and are stuck together because of a fraudulent activitie. They might have started hating each other but neither of them can deny the attraction.

Luc is alpha male fiercely protective and possesive. When he learns about Lil he does not hesitate to join Mafia to have a relationship with his sister. His past is just an added bonus which helps him ease into the Mafia life.

Summer is strong and resilient. She is a survivor and craves for a family which she finally finds where she never expected.

Luc and Summer have a lot in common especially how they grew up which helps them form a bond and when they get to know each other they cannot help but fall in love. But life isn't easy they have enemy's lurking and their motives are unknown.

I loved how everyone accepted both of them from the moment they step into their lives and support them. I loved the plot, characters and twists the only thing that bugged me was Summer keeping all the secrets.

Although, I liked Summer she would fall last in my list of favourites among the wives. I understand her insecurities but I couldn't comprehend why she couldn't share all the details with everyone despite them accepting her open heartedly from first meeting. Max was shot and neither him or Lil blamed her for a second and they protected her.

It's a read worth loosing your sleep. It can be read as a standalone but I would recommend to read in order to understand all the characters and certain references.

Just when I thought Ms. McKinley had made it through all the mafia couples and she came out with this pleasant surprise. Which again, with how amazing she writes, this is one of my favorite books of the entire series. That is saying a lot because I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and she has quickly become a favorite author of mine.

Summer, after having worked her shift, is attacked in the apartment she shares with her friend Lauralee who is nowhere to be seen. Summer can’t dwell on that thought as she must run to save her life. She manages to land a temp job at a financial company and one night decides to celebrate at a bar. This is where she meets Luc who becomes her one night stand, but fate seems to have more up her sleeve for these two. When the next day Summer finds out he is her boss and not only that he suspects her of plotting against him with her former boss. This is where the Chicago mafia families come into play with a bombshell of a secret. This secret involves Luc, his mother, his past, and a position that may open doors for him but also endanger his life as well. As Luc is uncovering his past and what the Chicago mafia wants from him, he works to uncover Summer’s secrets that she is running from. Can Summer trust Luc to keep her safe or will he hand her over to the guys chasing her after he knows her secret?

This is an action packed mafia romance book full of mystery, suspense, and of course our favorite characters from the series. If you have read the other books I definitely recommend reading this one. If you haven’t I still recommend you read this one but I encourage you to read all of them, as they are that good. I cannot wait to see what else Ms. McKinley has up her sleeve!

I liked how this book started off in a different direction than previous books in the series.

Summer takes a temp job in California after escaping a near-death experience in Georgia. Finding out that her best friend didn't make it out of the clutch of a New York mobster had Summer acting out of character and hooking up with a hot guy she met at a bar for a one-night stand. Waking up in his posh hotel room, and running late to work, she rushes in to the office only to find out the guy she spent the night with is her new boss. Thanks to her old boss throwing shade her way as he was escorted out, Summer finds that Luc, her one-night stand, now thinks she's a spy who has worked with his enemies to steal his money.

When a Chicago mob boss shows up at the office and corners Luc while he's still interrogating Summer, Luc brings her along to meet up with the five families in Chicago until he can figure out how she's connected to his bank accounts being drained. Meanwhile, Summer fears her escape from Georgia may not have been as seamless as she thought, and she might actually be the reason for the Chicago mafia showing up. Hiding her own secrets, and trying to convince Luc she has nothing to do with his disappearing funds proves to be a challenge as both Luc and Summer get caught up in mafia business in Chicago.

Once again, the characters in this series make it hard not to fall in love with the families who run organized crime in Chicago. It's a brutal life full of danger, and yet, the bonds with the friends and family in the crime syndicate are strong, loving, and protective. This book delivers, as the previous stories in the series have, on drama, intrigue, mystery, and romance.

Book 5 of the series. Highly recommend reading the other books first as the overall storyline continues from book to book and some things would be spoiled by reading out of order.

This installation focuses on the relationship between Luc and Summer. Their relationship hits many of the romance tropes: (obviously) mafia romance, workplace romance, mistaken identity, one night stand to lovers, enemies to lovers, and more (which I won’t state because I don’t want to spoil anything). I enjoyed Summer’s strength of character and her ability to stand on her own two feet despite what life throws at her. I also enjoyed Luc’s character arc and seeing him grow from self-made businessman into a mafia heir who has a family and is one of five families who run the Chicago mob scene. I did enjoy the slow build up in their relationship despite their sexual tension, and their desire to wait to be together again until they knew one another more.

I wasn’t as big of a fan of this novel compared to the others in the series but I couldn’t tell you exactly why that was. I think it’s common to have favorite books in a series and ones that just don’t call out to you the same, especially when each book focuses on a different couple. I did enjoy both the romance and non-romance storylines overall, as well as how this novel fit in the continuing storyline of the series.

Sadly, no Katya in this one. I will hold out hope of her being a FMC in the future, though it does seem like the Bratva connection has ended for now as it was only mentioned in passing and this novel focused on some new New York based Mafia families. Can’t wait to see where everything goes in the future books!

Summer has always had bad luck, from the moment she was born she was thrust into a world of poverty and neglect all she had was the family of misfits she has built around her but when her best friend gets into trouble and she needs to escape for her life, can the dark stranger she meets be the one to rescue her and bring light into her life.

Luc has strived for what he has got in life no one has handed him anything, now running a successful business but what happens when your past comes knocking and throws you into a world of danger, family, and loyalty and to top it of an attraction to a stranger you think is trying to ruin you.

Can I just say OMG, I knew Luc’s story would be explosive but oh me was it that and more? I love this series and although they are totally dangerous and have their own set of morals the Five Families welcomed both with open arms and drew them into the family fold with easy.

Your heartaches at the beginning with Summer and the strength she must have to escape the New York Mafia but when she gets thrust into the arms of Luc you see the chemistry bubbling all through the storyline. I always love the way that the main female characters are just as smart and dangerous as the Alpha males and that the relationship between the bosses and their wives is seen as equals with each of them having their very own skill set.

The story is well written and weaves through opening more glimpses into the Chicago world of the mafia. I am so glad that there is a hint to the next and that Trey’s story will not disappoint as the other books haven’t. I can not wait for the next instalment to arrive.

Ruthless Heir is the fifth book in the Mafia Elite series. It’s a gripping series, so I couldn’t wait to read the next book when it came out! The series focuses on the Italian Mafia in Chicago, with each book centring on different members of the families. Some have been brought up in this life, whilst others are new to it and drawn in either by family connection or romantic relationships.
I would definitely recommend reading the whole series in order. This story does work as a standalone – both of the main characters are new to the Mafia so we get to learn about it from their perspective – but knowing the backstories of the other characters adds to the experience.
Ruthless Heir is Luc’s story. He has clawed his way from a difficult childhood to becoming a successful businessman, unaware even of the existence of the Chicago Mafia, let alone his rightful place amongst them. His background makes him a good match for Summer – both used to having to fend for themselves.
A misunderstanding leads to Summer getting wrapped up in Mafia business (definitely nothing to do with the chemistry between her and Luc…). It’s interesting to see the families through her eyes – someone who is fully aware of the public image of the notorious bosses and their wives. She knows it’s dangerous to trust anyone, especially the Mafia.
Ruthless Heir was another book I couldn’t put down, and definitely gets 5 stars from me! It’s an action-packed story with plenty of twists and surprises along the way. I’m looking forward to the next book, due out in the summer!

I seriously can never get enough from this author or this series in general! Each book they have written I am Truly captivated and hooked. Each book in this series brings secrets and darkness of the character's own to light, and I am hooked and mesmerized! It takes a skilled author to truly to achieve that again and again!

I love how each one of these books in the series that brings on two characters that are placed together due to unforeseen circumstances. I loved Luc and Summer so freaking much. They had that chemistry that you only dream about. Their ties together seemed like it was just random, but behind every thing that happens with this Mafia in Chicago, there are secrets or skeletons in the closet that always come to light...whether you like it or not. Summer quickly became a fan favorite for me. her intuition was always spot on, and how she saw the world compared to the females in other books was different and enlightening. I learned so much from the way she sees. The moments she and Luc spent together were amazing, the suspense was to die for as well. I freaking loved this one! Loved it so freaking much!

If you have not had the pleasure of reading this amazing author, I must say read books by them as of right this moment! If you have not read other books in this Mafia series, it is best to read from the 1st one to truly understand and get wrapped up in the affairs of the Mafia. This book alone is a must read, it was perfect in every which way, and I highly do recommend it! It is a must read! I am dead serious about that!

This book had me hooked from the very beginning, as per usual with this author! She captivated me with character of Summer, who is fleeing from people who have all but put a bounty on her, when she meets Luc and is whisked away to the mafia world in Chicago. As with her other books, the author kept me wondering what would happen next with the end of every chapter, and kept with her tradition of showing the viewpoint from each character.

This book has been my favorite in the series so far because of the characters unique connections to the mafia unlike the characters before them. Summer captivated my interest very early on in the book and kept it the entire time. I was slow to like Luc with his brash and distrusting behavior early on in the book, but the more the story went on and we learned things about his past as well as discover along with him things he never knew, he has definitely grown to be one of my favorite male characters this author has written about. The romance that blossoms between them is also one I will not soon forget, as they both realize throughout the story just how much they have in common and how much each needs the other in their lives.

I absolutely loved seeing the old characters making appearances throughout the book, I’ve always been a huge fan of how she does this in every series she has written. Before finishing the book I discovered she has already started on another book in the series, and needless to say, I’m really excited to read it!

This isn't the first ME series book I have read, and it definitely won't be the last. There's some violence, being a mafia book. There's some steamy scenes. I enjoy the prose and relationship/world building. Pretty quick read, mostly because I can't put it down.

Summer was born into a world where her mother was an addict and she had to always be on her guard. She is a survivor, world weary, and finally feels like she is working her way out of that world. She and her best friend, Lauralee, have been working a lot of long hours and sharing an apartment in order to save up some funds. In between shifts, Lauralee spends time with her mafia boyfriend, Ben. One night, Lauralee brings home a secret she overheard and shares a plan with Summer to blackmail him and have her ticket out!

Her plan for blackmail ends with a target on Summer's back and her fleeing to California with a temp job. After a night with a hot stranger, she heads to work in the morning to find that hot stranger is her new boss! A series of odd coincidences leads to Luc dragging her along while he meets the Five Families of the Chicago Mafia. Will they be able to work together? Will they be able to resist eachother? What have they gotten into?

There are so many layers in this book, and series. It can be read as a standalone, but is obviously better when you have the background of the previous 4 books in the series. Fun reads, nothing too deep but still a well written, fun, steamy read, and I can see myself reading them again when I'm looking for something familiar and easy to enjoy.

The Five Families are about to go through an astounding transformation. Summer is on the run from Ben Amato, her roommate’s ex-boyfriend. Lauralee had recorded a private conversation and planned to blackmail Ben for money. Despite Summer’s misgivings about Ben’s involvement with the New York Mafia, Lauralee puts her plan in motion. When Summer arrives home from her job, she is attacked by Ben. She manages to escape with the evidence. Summer ends up in California and has a job as an assistant for a multi-million dollar corporation. When she sees Lauralee’s face with a report of her death, Summer goes into a hotel bar and attempts to drown her sorrows. She uncharacteristically ends up having a one-night stand with Luc. When Summer awakens, she sees she is late for work. As she hurries through the lobby at work, news cameras are taking pictures of her ex-boss from the take-over by another company.

Luc believes there is a spy in his company. When he finds his personal accounts are all empty, he automatically sees red. In front of his office sits Summer. The two lock eyes and he targets her. Summer jumps up from her desk and runs out of the office, only to be detained by security. During Luc’s interrogation of Summer, Max Caruso interrupts and requires Luc to travel to Chicago immediately. Still not convinced Summer isn’t the one that stole his money, Luc drags her with him to Chicago. What fate does Summer face?

Luc and Summer Are my absolute favorite couple ever I love they both come from a terrible background and have used that to their advantage to not just grow closer to each other, but they are also using it to integrate themselves into the mafia. I thought that these two had so much heart and I loved that you could see the progress of slowly joining the mafia life where they weren’t born into it.

I love that Summer is portrayed as a survivor and fighter it comes out in droves throughout the story and made her completely relatable to myself.

You could just feel Luc’s complete intensity and more than anything I fell in love with his protectiveness of Summer. This story felt even more realistic than the prior ones in the series I was excited to be introduced to even more families which I hope means the series will continue in one way or another for a long period of time.

One of the things that touched me the most was in this story you felt at the height of what it means to have family whether by blood or not. The bond that they all have with each other and are continuing to build brought tears to my eyes in the greatest way possible. It hit home the fact that family is who you choose. This author did a tremendous job and is becoming hands-down one of my favorite authors ever. If you like a great character built romantic suspense book you will find yourself 100% enveloped and enthralled in the series.

This series I like should of read wine is just keeps getting better with time ❣️📕

So Summer is attacked in her flat that she shares with a friend , she’s scared so she runs, a girl needs to survive though and she finds a job at a finance company and one night she need to keg her gait downed heads to a bar for a drink or 3 ,one thing leads to another and she has a hot passionate night with the mist delectable stranger 🔥🔥🔥🔥 who turns out not only to be her new boss but also the next in line to head a mafia family , it would seem she left the pot for the frying pan ……

Luc has worked hard to get to where he is and he started at like ground zero , he’s also heir to his mafia family throne unbeknown to him….

Luc knows Summer is hiding something from him but she’s his personal heroine well I must admit they’re both addicted to each other 😱🔥😍 but they’ve got to get past a few hurdles and if they survive it they’re rock solid ❣️

Luc and Summer are the type of characters you’ll just love , their journey is filled with angst , fear , suspense , intrigue and hot , steamy chemistry that will leave you breathless 🔥

I’m so excited for the next book but at the same time I want to read slower because I don’t want it to end but it’ll all come full circle and I’ll know the entire family 😍it’s a real catch 22 😉❣️📕

Now we know what it would be like to be welcomed into the folds of the Mafia Elite. Thus far in this series, we have been getting to know this specific group of family and friends within the Five Families, and almost all of them have known each other since birth. This installment introduces two new characters that have had no ties to the Chicago Mafia until they are abruptly swept up into the whirlwind of the lives of these folks that we have come to love throughout this series. I would say this was my favourite so far, but I just love them all!

Self-doubt can damage one’s soul and self-worth and this is clearly represented within Summer’s character, having the reader root for her from the very start, and it’s lovely to watch her blossom throughout this novel. In comes Luc, who has grown into a successful business man through hard work and dedication, and can see the doubt and the emotions that run through Summer, but finds it difficult to move forward with the contrasting emotions that he holds for her, and vice versa. The writing style of this author has become my absolute go to when I’m looking for something to bring me out of a funk, and she delivers every single time. As always, highly recommend this series, and look forward to reading more!

Luc is set to possibly be the newest heir to rule the Brambilla family and he has no clue. Summer is working as a temp at a Financial company. Summer's roommate Lauralee has been on again off again dating Ben, who is in the New York Italian mafia. She has recorded a conversation between Ben and someone that she feels if she blackmails him that they will have enough money to finally live how she feels they should be. Unfortunately it ends up costing her with her life, and Ben comes after Summer. Well after learning about Lauralee she ends up in a bar drinking her cares away and ends up meeting her new boss, even though she doesn't know its him yet, and they end up having a one night stand. The following day at work as the merger is finally taking shape and her old boss is being escorted out of the building calling everyone feel that this is all her fault, she ends up being photographed and possibly exposed to Ben. Luc has come to believe that somehow Summer has drained his accounts and is working with other owners that he had taken over their companies as revenge. But much to his surprise it is the Chicago Italian mafia and he had to deal with them and he is taking Summer along for the ride. Could this finally be her place to fit in?

I am totally invested in this series. I love how each book is intertwined into the next. The author's attention to detail when it comes to connecting each book, yet each book centering on different members of the families is what keeps me coming back for the next book. I would not suggest reading this or any of the books in this series as a standalone because each book adds to the bigger picture.
In this book, we meet two new characters who are new to the mafia lifestyle. Summer, has bad taste in not only best friends but boyfriends too. Lauralee is Summers's best friend in Georgia but when Lauralee comes up with a plan to blackmail her New York Mafia boyfriend it sends Summer running for her life and Lauralee dead. When Summer gets confirmation that Lauralee is, in fact, dead, she finds herself in an upscale bar drowning in liquor. This is when Summer meets Luc, has a wild night of adult fun. It’s not until she arrives late for work that Summer realizes the man she has a one-night stand is her new boss! Running from the New York Mafia Summer finds herself now intertwined in the Chicago Mafia.
I love the fast pace of this book and how you feel the shift in the relationship between Luc and Summer. I can’t wait to see this series continue!! Keep them coming!!

This is the 5th book in a fantastic series by an author who has risen right up my favourites list in the last few years. I don’t think I have ever given any of her books less than 5 stars as they are just that good. And this is another 5-star read.
I was slightly worried before starting this book as it was a new character brought into the fold of a very tight knit bunch. My own fault for being such an anxious person as this author has never let me down before and still hasn’t. Luc was quickly accepted into the group of elite mafia leaders and Summer fit right in with the kick – a** mafia wives.
I loved Luc and Summer’s story. Both are fantastic characters that I immediately connected with and enjoyed reading about. This book is quite angsty, which I love, as they try to fight the attraction they obviously have for one another.
As well as the romance story, the author sure knows how to write a fantastic accompanying suspenseful storyline which keeps you gripped and not wanting to put this book down.
I loved this book as with all the others in this series and really hope that the author gives us more from this amazing mafia elite.

I have read quit a few books written by this author and she just keeps on amazing me with her work. The characters are strong and dark they have to be in their world. I love the little quirks and the way they play off each other makes them somewhat real. The plot what can you say it has it all danger, violence, secrets, lies, and romance.

This is Luc and Summer’s story

A Chicago Mafia boss persuades Luc Savino to board a jet and assume his destiny he didn’t realize that he was handed the crown. He is going to take his one-night stand Summer who is now his new, secretive executive assistant and probable spy for the former CEO of his latest hostile takeover.
Summer Johansson flees the state to hide after a mob boss viciously attacks in her apartment. He know she can only hide for so long. With the murder of her best friend, she find herself with a handsome man. Now she is being dragged back to where she ran from.
With the secrets Summer is keeping and the lies between them will Luc keep Summer safe? Can they move past the drama? Will they get a happily ever after?
I highly recommend this book slash series…

Another great installment in this series! I enjoyed the dynamic of introducing new characters that don't share the same origins as the ones I have grown to know and love in the other books. I would have liked more tension in the romance. It felt as though the romance when from uncertain to star crossed a little too quickly. Even so, the story was well written, and the mystery was intriguing. Though the backstories of the main characters in this series is different then I have seen in the other books, it is still heart wrenching. It helps make the characters fit seamlessly into the mafia families I have come to know and love. The found family aspects of the book were well down, and I LOVE strong women, which not only this book, but this whole series is full of. If you are knew to this series, I definitely recommend reading in order. Each book centers around different characters, but there are larger plot points and connections that you will miss if you do not start from the first book! Either way, if you are looking for a mafia romance with action, found family, fierce women, and protective men then definitely pick this series up!

Ruthless Heir, Book 5 in the Mafia Elite Series throws a huge loop than the other pervious books. At first, I was not sure how I would like it considering it is bringing in two new characters that have not been introduced yet. The love story focus is on Luc and Summer. Luc being Lil's long lost half brother, who has no idea he has a sister, let alone Mafia. Both Luc and Summer come from hard difficult childhoods, which is one of the things they bond over. The book focuses on Luc's training to become the new Mafia Boss for the Brambilla Family and the new girl who he has dragged along with him, Summer. She is also on the run from another less powerful Mafia Family, the Amato's. She keeps her cards close to her in hope that she Five Chicago Families do not turn her over. At first, Summer is there against her will, but slowly everyone, including Luc falls in love with her. As Summer and Luc work together every morning, their love connection grows so beautifully. Summer and Luc both fit excellently into the Five Mafia Families and are a great addition. Amy McKinley does a spectacular job at mixing adventure, mystery, romance and spice. I know I will not be disappointed in book 6!
