Dangerous is moving the new trade in when you have secrets to hide

Trevor Cane’s built a name for himself in the NHL. At 5’4” he’s one of the shortest players to ever play professional hockey. He also has a secret. A secret that he’s kept from everyone. But a surprise phone call from a friend leaves Trevor risking it all.

Brax Cernak first met Trevor ten years ago when his dad moved the new NHLer into their house. While Trevor barely noticed Brax, Brax noticed him. Now in the NHL, Brax still harbors that crush and a trade to Nashville and a “helpful” call to Trevor finds them living together.

When Brax discovers Trevor’s secret, he makes it his mission to become the Daddy his little bear has always needed. Will tension between them and the risks to their careers prevent Trevor from seeing Brax is everything he’s always wanted?

This M/M sports romance has some really lovely (and interesting) dynamics between MCs, Trevor and Brax.

Not only are our two heroes ice hockey players (winning!), but there’s a slight age-gap and perceived power imbalance that initially makes their attraction and connection somewhat forbidden (such fun!), with Trevor being the seasoned pro and team captain at 30 and Brax being the younger, newly traded 23-year-old hot-shot that moves in with him.

Add to that, these guys both have their unconventional kinks, which they each keep close to the vest outside their inner circles—naturally so due to their high-profile pro-athlete status—but which they eventually find to perfectly align as they get to know one another through some tasty (not-really) forced proximity.

Here, the kinky themes revolve around Brax identifying as a dom/daddy, despite his younger years, and Trevor, smaller in stature than most pro-athletes, identifying, very secretly and in the safety of his own home, as a ‘little’, enjoying everything from sippy cups and colouring, to naps with his blankie, pacifier and teddy bear.

In this way, these two are the perfect match, with Brax longing for a boy/little to care for and Trevor wishing for nothing more than to find the perfect daddy for him.

BDSM themed romances of this nature aren’t typically within my reading interests, and I’m not very well read in this area, truth be told, but every now and then I see a review or get a recommendation from a friend that piques my interest and spurs me to step outside my comfort zone to try new things.

In this particular case, I’d been considering trying a Carly Marie book for a long while, and the ice hockey backdrop seemed to be the ticket to pull me into this particular world of daddy and his little.

While I enjoyed the sweet romance and the sharing of their most secret but vital desires, which built between Trev and Brax as they opened their inner worlds and (eventually) their hearts to each other, I don’t think this particular type of kink works all that well for me personally.

Although my heart gave a few big sighs of contentment whenever Trevor felt truly at peace and cared for by Brax’s natural daddy skills, I still found it hard to find the level romance or heat all that appealing, especially when talk of sippy cups and pacifiers were mentioned at near every turn.

Obviously, this will differ from reader to reader, and I can certainly see how a story of this kind—that is very warm-hearted and full of love and sweetness, and most importantly, acceptance—would be a big win for many readers who are more inclined to relish in the kinky exploration of it all.

So, despite my indifference to the specific kinks being explored, I mostly consider this reading experience a win, particularly when it came to the characters and their friendships and bonds with their hockey team. That stuff was really enjoyable—so much so that I will definitely come back to try the sequels, which I’m sure will still be kinky in their own right, but probably in different ways.

Edit to add: A quick note, to all the newbies like myself that actually enjoy reading order and (usually) take that stuff very seriously 😝.… although this is the first book in a new series (and can totes be read as a stand-alone), there are several couples present in Brax and Trevor’s story that have featured in other books of Carly Marie (notably the characters from At Home and Seth), for those playing at home.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

I hope that’s enough for a swoony book review, but I still want to talk about it! 😙🕺 Okay so this is the kind of book that has everything that just fit into place. There are a lot of things to say, and I can’t help loving them all.

First of all, the relationship development was amazing! It flows really easy, and they were so sweet figuring each other out. Both were mature and they communicate very well. The relationship wasn’t easy, and almost realistic I adore them. By the time they engaged in their sexual relationship, I was already gone for them. And they didn’t focused entirely on sex after. Well done 👏🏻 I also think that it balanced out perfectly with their BDSM lifestyle. Other than that, the plotline was really simple, and I wouldn’t say the story made my mind blown because it really didn’t, but ugh, idk what it isss, but I was hooked since beginning 😩

It is difficult for me to enjoy sex scenes in romance, really. I found it boring, and most of the time, I don’t really care. Ofc not all the time, and I do have exceptions. Traded is one of the books that’s left me panting, breathless and shaking my head melting over the hotness. It wasn’t hot hot but my eyes were glued to the pages on every sexy scenes they had and damn, at one point I had to put it down before continuing 🥵 I appreciate that, dear author. Thanks for the horny ride :)

Ageplay-wise, perfectly done. As a fan, I really enjoyed it. How can I forget Carly Marie’s ageplay? How can I not read them more after I enjoyed Surprise Play by her??? I am a dumbass. Anyway, I looove the detail explanation between Boy and Little, Daddy and Dom, because most authors mistaken those a lot. I also love the difference between Trevor’s being an adult and him being a Little. It was easy to differentiate and to love him as both. They complement each other perfectly. Same with Brax as he figures out he’s more of a Daddy than Dom. THIS IS HOW YOU DO AGEPLAY!! ❤️❤️

I love that I get to see them both as Trevor/Brax in a scene near the end there. That was such an icing on the cake. That also proves that this story prioritize them as a couple, not just their lifestyle. Very much details and just fucking perfect ❤️

Traded was just as cute as I remembered.
From teammates to lovers, from friends to daddy & little bear — Brax and Trevor’s story was light-hearted, filled with tender and sweet playtime moments, and a nice level of spice.

The reason it isn’t a full five is because I guess I wanted some level of angst, or drama or more relationship building. It just needed a little kick, some bitterness to balance out the ultra sweetness. Still haven’t found a good age-play romance with slow burn or angst, but here’s to not giving up.

Side note: I’m so confused why past me rated this installment a 4, skipped the second, and rated the third a 2? What happened in book 3 that pissed me off?
I have no idea, but I guess I’ll find out.

Tropes and NSFW info (spoilers):
- Hockey players and teammates
- Age-play and ABDL (no wetting)
- Younger daddy dom and older little
- Wax play and light restraints
- Caretaking
- Orgasm control
- Strict top/bottom on page

I hate to sound like a perv (I mean, I am a perv, but I hate to sound like one), but I needed more sex. This was pretty good. I’m a sucker for a younger Dom, so this was right down my alley, but I’ve come to have certain expectations from this author. I expected more on page sexy times, dang it 😒. Aside from that, this was a very pleasant start to a new series. Though there are characters from previous books, I don’t think anyone starting here would have any trouble following. I’m ready for the future books in the series. I can already see multiple possibilities for future couples.

So this was the first Daddy/Little book I've read, and I can safely say its just not for me. It was really cute and sweet, but like with puppy kink, it's just too sweet for me!

Ideally I prefer at least one person in the couple I'm reading about to either have some kind of emotional trauma/inability to deal with emotions, or just a general broody fuckboy that's about to be reformed 😂

Saying that, there were definitely parts of this story I loved - the playroom, soft things and the colouring all sound amazing to me (helps that I home ed my kid so I basically get to spend all day everyday in a playroom of my own 😊).

What I wasn't so keen on is the speed of going from teammates/roommates to more. It seemed super fast paced throughout, yet the book also felt like it went on for a really long time too - what I like to call a Bermuda triangle book 😂

Did I read the blurb? Of course not. So it was surprise Daddy/boy for me. And I had such fun with this one! I thought Trevor was cute and Brax was so caring. They worked well together and their story made a sweet, sweet read.

This is a hockey book but there is very little on ice time. That made the extensive game play description in the epilogue a bit jarring and made the ending of the book feel off balance. To me. I actually think the bonus scene linked at the end of the book made for a better epilogue, and I will leave Trevor and Brax’s story as a happy reader.

I look forward to reading more from this author.

I started out really liking this, but somehow the second half didn’t quite live up to the promising start.

It could also be my mood. I think I need to read it again to make sure.

It was fine, it really was. But it wasn’t great, nothing extraordinary about it. I knew what was coming and knew how it would end. There weren’t any surprises.

I would even go so far as to say that it was almost boring. At least the second half was.

This was different

So in here we have Trevor, who is the captain of the hockey team and is a little. Then we have a very young Brax, who is a Daddy.

These two knew each other when Trevor lived with Brax's family when the young daddy was a teen. He had a crush that never stopped.

So Brax gets traded to the team and is staying with Trevor as he is new to the area. Little by little (heh) Brax figures out that Trevor is a little. This is instadaddy so of course these two end up together. I loved the face that Brax was younger. I loved that Trevor really didn't care about the age. I loved the story, though it really could have had less pages.

While Seth was in this, cause teammate, and Derek showed up in text form, I really did miss the rest of the gang. There has got to be a way to get them altogether.

I'm a sucker for Younger Daddy/older little books. I just never really felt the connection between Brax and Trevor.

This was also a much slower burn that I'm used to from this author. I think something like the first 20-30% is just their reunion and mutual pining. The actual romance doesn't come until the second half of the book. Which would be fine. If the beginning of the book were interesting.

I'm going to continue the series. I was definitely more invested in secondary characters and previous character cameos than the mains.

CW: regression featuring-sippy cups, bottles, blankies, stuffies, pacifiers, dishes, and discussion of abdl with one scene featuring.

Traded by Carly Marie is the first book in her Nashville Grizzlies series. It is tied in with several of her previous books that you do not have to read first but it would give you a greater understanding of side characters and plot if you did. It is the story of Brax and Trevor. Brax is a pro hockey player for Boston when he finds out he is being traded to the Nashville Grizzlies. He is excited because he wasn’t happy at Boston and had heard a lot of interesting things about the Grizzlies. He is also a Daddy but because he’s young, his hockey schedule, and going to a new place he doesn’t think he will be able to find a Boy. Trevor is the captain of the Grizzlies and interestingly enough, had spent a few years living with Brax’s family when he first started out in pro hockey. But he was older and that was when Brax first crushed on him and that feeling had never left. He is also a closeted Little who closely guards that secret because of what it could do to his career if anyone found out. When Brax tells his Dad that he is moving to Nashville, he contacts Trevor and gets him to let Brax stay with him until he can find a place for himself. Brax doesn’t like this because of his crush and Trevor panics because he’s afraid Brax will find out his secret. Once he arrives things start to get interesting. Brax’s crush deepens and Trevor also feels the attraction. The story continues from there as Brax learns all kinds of things about the Grizzlies and the players as well as how caring Trevor is. It has ups and downs as he eventually figures out that Trevor is a Little and Trevor finds out Brax is a Daddy. They have to decide if a relationship will work and then how to tell their families and the team. (Luckily the team has several out and proud couples.) Through it all their friends and teammates help them out and also provide some comic relief. I have loved all the books in this series and this one is no different. I like books where characters from previous stories appear and help the main characters out. This one had several that played a big role as friends of the couple as well as being in a Daddy/Boy situation. I also liked that both Brax and Trevor thought they could never find someone who shared what they liked and needed and yet they did and so it was that much sweeter. There was some angst about their situation yet it all worked out. All of the hockey scenes added to the story and I continue to learn a lot about the sport through the action. It also played into the plot and I liked how the Grizzlies were a team with a lot of quirky habits but they also cared for each other in a way that a lot of other teams don’t. All in all this was a great book and I’m looking forward to the next one in the series. Ms. Marie is one of my favorite authors and she does not disappoint.

I'm so excited for the start of this new series. We heard of the Grizzlies in several books and met most of the team in Seth's book. Now, we get a more in depth peek into the players, their lives and kinks.

First, I absolutely loved the differences between Trevor and Brax. Trevor's an older little while Brax is a younger Daddy. Brax is over 6ft and Trevor is just under 5 1/2. I also loved the shared history between the two and that Brax harbored a crush for so long!

Second, I'm grateful that their secrets were revealed earlier in the story. I hate when authors spend 75% of a book on the angst surrounding secrets and very little time allowing the characters to explore their relationship on page. I do wish that this wasn't SUCH a slow burn and we got more intimacy on page, but that's a minor complaint.

Third, I love that this is a book about hockey that isn't a book about hockey. The relationships are the main focal point of the story. While the hockey does play a prominent role, it's not a story solely about hockey and I appreciate that. Carly has kiddos in hockey. She has first hand knowledge of the game. She's able to incorporate hockey into the story without it feeling forced or reading as if the author doesn't really understand the sport.

Lastly, Brax is such a sweet Daddy. I loved the Daddy/little interactions. I'm so glad we finally got a playdate with our favorite country music star and hope there's more of that in the future.

There's a reason why this book has an orange banner. Carly writes characters that are relatable and I adore how characters from previous books pop in from time to time.

I cannot wait for the next book!

I just really like hockey and age play

Y'all this was cute as hell. But that's pretty expected from a Carly Marie book with age play. It's going to be cute and wholesome. What I didn't expect was how much of a role hockey was going to play in this book. I'm not mad about it because I love hockey so I greatly enjoyed actually getting to see the sport be played and talked about.

Brax and Trevor were adorable I loved revisiting former characters. The only thing this book didn't really have was a whole lot of smut. It's definitely a lighter book than some of her others in that regard. But I don't count that as a negative here. I don't think this story necessarily needed a lot of smut heavy scenes. I don't think it would have worked as well and it might have bogged down the pacing which we definitely talk about.

The pacing for this book is otherworldly. Not a whole lot happens and yet at the same time you don't realize that not a lot is happening because you're just flying through the book. Carly Marie could definitely teach a master class in pacing. I seriously have no idea how she did it. And this isn't that short of a book either but it took me a good 40% before I realized not much was happening and I didn't notice. you could argue that the easy pacing does slow towards the end. Personally, I don't mind when books slow down as they reach their end. That's a natural progression that makes sense for me. My point is, I flew through this without even realizing it.

All in all, I really loved this easy book. It was fun and cute and sexy all at once. I'm super hyped for the other couples that will be showcased in this series and I need to go back and read this series previous to this because I clearly missed a lot. How I missed it, I don't know. Apparently I was living under a rock. Five stars because little bear? Eff me dead, that had no right being so cute.

Me encantooooooo✨.

Necesito leerme esas historiasssssss.

Y que todos estos libros sean sobre jugadores de hockey sobre hielo🏒 🏒🏒, solo lo hace aún mejor💕.

As with all other stories by that author, I absolutely loved this book. Brax and Trevor come together with the perfect storm of events that help to open their eyes to what they needed to see. I liked each of their caring nature and how much support the team gives everyone. I loved how patient Brax was for Trevor to fully bring his little side out and accept their relationship.

I've really started to enjoy these author's stories. In this case Braxton gets traded to the Nashville Grizzlies. Great because he hates his Boston team and also his childhood crush Trevor is the Captain. Trevor lived with Braxton's family when he was just starting out and played on the same hockey team as Braxton's dad, but Braxton was 12 and Trevor was 20 and oblivious to a kid.

His dad steps in and asks Trevor to take Brax in until he finds a place. Trevor doesn't feel he can say no but is stressed because he's a little and his house has been in his sanctuary. When he freaks out Seth and boyfriend step in and tell him they know, so no stress. Meanwhile Brax is a dom whose roommate tells him he should be a Daddy Dom and starts sending him links to littles getting it in Braxton's head. When it turns out Trevor is a little, there is some dancing around because the idea of anyone finding out freaks out Trevor, but eventually they hook up and the team and their friends accept their relationship. Obviously they don't mention the kink stuff.

Now would there be a team that open? I'd hope so. There is lots of hockey stuff here, Trevor gets hurt and gets treatment, how practices work and about the team camaraderie, game play, etc. But despite being a little, on the ice and off, Trevor is the captain, the leader, making sure everyone is okay and ready to roll and that doesn't change. There are hockey fights and playoff drama, but it was a sweet story without too much relationship drama.

I'd say you should read Seth's story first to get to know some of the main characters surrounding Trevor and understand more about how the team works, the bears, etc. Lots of overlap from other books. You could certainly read it as a stand-alone but it is more satisfying if you know who everyone is.

This is the first book in Nashville Grizzlies series and can be read as a stand alone. But characters from her other books make an appearance and will be highly more enjoyable if you also read their book prior (especially At Home from Finding Home series and Seth from Johnson Family Rules. Warning once you read these books you won't want to stop and will want to devour the whole series 😁)
Trevor is the shortest player in the league but he fought hard and is fierce on the ice. He earned his title of Captain. But he's scared he'll lose all of this if his secret is known. Who is going to respect a captain who only wants to be little? But along comes Brax, who has had a crush on Trevor since he was a teenager and just realizing he's a Daddy. The way they first interact, each trying to keep their secret, is hilarious. But it is not dragged out making it frustrating or annoying. When the secrets are discovered (well at least between them) a sweet, emotional, trust earning journey begins. Brax is so patient, respectful, and understanding of Trevor's fears. His fears are not brushed aside or easily solved. Trevor is so sweet and cute as a little and Brax is the perfect Daddy for him. And of course have to mention that these two will melt your kindle, so hot together!!
This book focuses on Trevor and Brax but all the characters are well developed, hilarious, and loveable. I love the world of the Grizzlies. The tradition with the bears is awesome and the naming of them is hilarious.
Ms. Marie has outdone herself again with this new series. I have not been disappointed with any of her books and each one has me fall more in love with each new world she creates.

Braxlyn (23) has harbored a secret decade-long crush on Nashville Grizzlies team captain Trevor (30) when he's traded to the up-and-coming NHL team. Their paths had crossed years before, and when the new teammates become new roommates, unspoken sparks fly.

Trevor, though, has a closely guarded secret of his own - he's a little. And little does he know the younger Brax is a caretaker Daddy who longs for a little of his own. They dance around each other a bit, figuring out their feelings, which for Trevor includes figuring out how to let his guard down and embrace being loved for all aspects of himself.

Braxton and Trevor have a ton of chemistry and make a pretty adorable couple. Their story is big on heart and all kinds of sweet, with mid-level heat and a wee bit of angst (poor Trevor). And yes, this age-play love story features some on-page ABDL, which actually marks a pivotal moment in the MCs' romantic relationship and the story itself.

While the first in a new spin-off series, this book firmly slots into a vast crossover universe of interconnected series by this author. Of them, I'd highly recommend reading Johnson Family Rules - Book 3 ("Seth") beforehand because it's where Trevor and his hockey teammates first appear, and jumps into the team dynamics at play here.

The network of loving and supportive family, friends and teammates is hopeful and heartening, and one of my favorite aspects of this story. I'm so looking forward to teammates Yuri and Igor's story next in the series. I received an advance reading e-copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily. (Also read in KU.)

Traded is the first book in a series where we follow the players of a NHL hockey team.
This first story is about Trevor Cane, the team captain and Brax Cernak, the new player in the team.
Trevor is an amazing team captain, everyone loves and respects him and he has tried hard to make his team great.
When his mentor's son, Brax, gets traded to his team Trevor agrees to let him live with him for a while as a favor to his old teammate. What he doesn't know is that Brax has had a crush on him for years.
But Trevor also has a secret desire that Brax accidentally finds out about when they start living together and that's how their relationship starts.
I don't usually read sports romance because I know nothing about sports but I've fallen in love with this team. They are a family, they are fun and they take care for each other. Trevor and Brax were adorable together. They are beautifully written characters that I connected with and cared for instantly. I loved their dynamics and the chemistry between them was amazing.
I had a wonderful time reading this book. It made me smile and warmed my heart. I can't wait to continue with this series!

it was interesting enough

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2022...

***spoilers little here and there***

All I got to say is I am sooooo ready for Igor and Yuri book. I figured that they kind of or liked each other. Because Yuri didn’t play about Igor but i did though it was going to be Jean-Luc book I think I say his name right lol but anyways on with the main characters in this book.

I think that Brax was the right fit for Trevor. Because he help Trevor be himself more even around his teammates. Plus nobody bet an eye when Brax brought coloring books for Trevor they all wanted one. Plus why i feel like something going on with the coach and the assistant coach lol.

It’s not much I can say about this book to be honest that I did enjoyed it and it was interesting. But I do want a book with Easton or he needs to be traded next or something to the Grizzlies or date one of them or something because I like him.

I really enjoyed this Daddy/little story in which the little was not only older than the Daddy but had known him when Daddy was only 12. Why? Well because he played pro hockey with Daddy's father. And now Daddy, aka Brax, has been traded to Trevor's team and Trevor isn't sure he'll be able to hide his attraction or his little side.

Not only was the story sweet but the concept was new to me and it feel fresh and fun throughout the whole book. And not only did the men get their HEA, i.e., acceptance by family, friends, and teammates, but the seeds were planted for book 2 and possibly 3 and more as well. I'm looking forward to more.

Note: some of the characters who appear here were first featured in other stories in other series including Derek, the country music singer, and Seth, one of the Johnson family. But it's not necessary to have read those other stories to enjoy their appearance in this one.
