This is a book I have been eagerly anticipating. I loved how the plot was progressing at a really nice pace. And just when you start to learn more about what’s going on, we get further unexpected twists that I did not see coming. These twists left me on the edge of my seat.

J. Rose has become one of my favorite authors and her writing is phenomenal!! The way she hooks you in right from the first page… holy moly. It’s amazing.

“𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒓 𝒅𝒊𝒆, 𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒅𝒂𝒎𝒏. 𝑨𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒔 𝑰 𝒅𝒊𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒔, 𝑰’𝒍𝒍 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒍, 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅.”

I am obsessed with these characters! Emery is a bad*ss dark witch and I am in love with her (I think I developed a girl crush 😂) She gives no sh*t’s and never apologizes for who she is. I also loved how possessive and protective she was of Kody, Luther, and Atticus. Even though they were separated, due to circumstances that I won’t spoil, their love never died. And once they come together… they are a force to wrecked with.

Powerfully Written! Explosive Twists! Exposing Turns! Bindingly Ambitious! Great character development and world building. A must read for sure!

I put off writing this review because I didn't know what to say about this book. I still don't, so this will be a short review for now. (I'll post a detailed review later in the week probably.)

I'll give away no plot points whatsoever. The blurb is more than enough to understand the main theme of the story. I'd even suggest to go in blind, but I know there may be things you don't like and then you'll come for me. So please, check the TW before reading this.

I hadn't read a paranormal romance book with witches in such a long time and I was so excited when I got the ARC for this one. J. Rose is one of my favourite writers when it comes to dark romance and reverse harem. She always nails it.

This book was extremely well-written, the characters had depth to their personalities and each one was different from the other, the world-building was exceptional, the character development was delightful, the heat was off the charts, and the twists and turns kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I devoured this book.

J. Rose always manages to capture that it's okay if there's a darkness within you beautifully and the relationships she builts amongst her characters are so very deep, you can feel what they feel and you can easily sympathize with them.

Emery and her guys have my whole heart and I can't wait to re-read this book.

Also, I can't wait for J. Rose to delve into the high/epic fantasy realm. If this paranormal book is anything to go by, I think she would do a fantastic job writing high/epic fantasy.

Thank you to J. Rose for providing me with an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

I’m going to start off by saying this was my first read by J Rose and now I need to read everything she’s wrote. I’m fully obsessed. Next is I’m not actually the biggest reader of paranormal romance, I have read and enjoyed some but it’s not my usual go to. Saying that, I really, really enjoyed Departed Whispers. The plot was so incredible and I got whiplash with that many twists I didn’t see coming!! When I thought I had recovered another one smacked me in the face. You can tell a lot of research and care actually went into this book. The writing is beautiful.

We have Emery, a beautiful, badass dark witch who’s entire life she’s been condemned and on the run. You know I love a badass FMC so she’s now tucked away in my heart. She also had a ghost for a best friend!
Then the brothers… oh my god the brothers 🥵 there is Luther, the oldest. The protector. Atticus is the middle brother. The broken one. And then we have my personal favourite Kody who’s the youngest. He’s the brains but also the charmer. I loved everything about these three! They’re so sinfully sexy and fiercely protective over Emery.

I’m just obsessed with everything in this book, it was such a good read. Departed Whispers is part of The Twisted Legends Collection and you should definitely check out the other stories out so far! As always please check the trigger warnings. 🖤

Ohhhh my Lordy
This book is …. Absolute fire. How doe I even put this all into words? Seriously?
J Rose is pure talent. I will forever read every and any book written by them.

Departed Whispers is a dark, reverse harem; paranormal romance. There definitely are some triggers, so check those out before jumping in.
I literally could NOT stop reading this once I started. I had to force myself to take breaks or I would have been up all night to finish it. 😂

This reverse harem was soo so hot. The spicy scenes were …wow. Luther’s dominant side had me squeezing my own thighs for our FMC. 😈🔥

And we all love a stubborn, hard to get guy right?
Then add in the soft and loving one, you got yourself a perfect harem.

Believe me when I say this book combines the perfect amount of spice and storyline. I’ve never read anything like this. Read it. Now. 💜

ARC REVIEW OF DEPARTED WHISPERS!
This book is a Dark, paranormal refer harem with trigger warnings such as blood play, breath play, knife play, and light bdsm.

“I have always been more comfortable with the dead over the living. Less complications.”

I want to start off by saying I DON’T read paranormal. I don’t normally enjoy witches, fantasy, werewolves, vampires, or anything that isn’t ‘real’ per say. That being said, I could not put this f***ing book down. I love J Rose so I was going to read it regardless if it was an arc or not.. but this book really had me biting my nails until the very end!

This book starts off with Emery Lockwood, giving in to forbidden Magick, leaving her three best friends behind when she decided to run from everything she knew. Little did she know, they would show up again, needing her help with the black magick, the same magic that caused turmoil in Reapers Hollow.

Emery is such a badass! I loved her sass and take-no-shit attitude when it came to her men and even the demons that were trying to flip their world upside down. Luther, Kody and Atticus are so different which really makes their dynamic come together because they can give Emery different parts of them that make her feel complete.

The plot, character development and sex were fire.
4/5 stars! Wonderful read and I cannot wait for everyone to read when this comes out!

Bad witch and her boys

They searched for years for their childhood BFF, now dark witch. Why did she leave, and why is she agreeing to come and save the town, her former home to those who banished her?

I really enjoyed the premise of this story, new adult friends to lovers, why-chose relationship, good v. evil, darkness and light. The connection between Emery and her guys (Kody, Luther, and Atticus) was warm yet turbulent with former secrets, movingly nostalgic. I loved their all-around flawed nature and desire to stay together, even with some emotional betrayal thrown in. I also liked the depiction of good vs. evil, where what may be considered good, ostracizing bad, is not necessarily pure, or without fault. Instead, both sides existing equally demonstrated completeness.

For me, the writing style was the detractor. Despite the entertaining storyline and interesting characters, I found it overly descriptive and slow to progress. Emery also lost some appeal due to her bravado. Strong is fine, but it needs to feel believable.

Still, a spicy romance -- Emery’s guys were hot; and when they came together, there were some nice fireworks. And those twists…did not see some of those! While I prefer more progression over detail, overall good story.

Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆     Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶

Angst: 💣💣💣💣     Plot: 📚📚📚📚📚

Cliffhanger? ❌️

Trigger Warnings:

Tropes: dark, Reverse Harem, PNR romance

To say I loved this book would be a huge understatement. This is my first read by J. Rose. After reading the last page, I immediately added her other books to my tbr. She is one talented lady. The character and world development was top notch and I'm already excited to read it again. The world she created was so unique from anything I've come across before. I loved all the characters but I think I'm in love with Atticus!

Thirteen years ago, after being alienated from her family and coven, Emery Lockwood left everything behind and ran. When she ran, she left her three best friends behind. In the years of her absence, Reaper’s Hollow has changed and is in desperate need of help. When one of her best friends finds her, he makes her aware of how dire the situation is. Emery is a badass dark witch and she takes no crap from anyone, not even a little bit. Seeing Luther, Atticus and Kody again is something she never imagined would happen. There's a nice, new aspect to their relationship. An incredibly hot and different one. Luther is the oldest, the protector and delightfully kinky. Kody is the youngest and a scholar in every way as well as charming to boot. Then there’s Atticus, the broken brother buried in pain and rage. This plot will immediately pull you in and the fight between good and evil is more intricate than you can imagine. So many shocking twists and turns with an ending that will have you gasping for breath. You are seriously doing yourself a disservice by not reading this book as long as the trigger warnings don't stop you. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

ARC review!

Oh my... This book was fantastic!

This is J. Rose's new book and it is a part of the Twisted Legends collection. It can be read as a standalone! Thirteen years ago Emery Lockwood gave in to forbidden magick, leaving behind the ruins of her home as well as her best friends. She never expected to see her childhood sweethearts again, and the boys she once knew have become troubled men and they need her help. Reaper's Hollow is under attack, haunted by an evil force that loves to play sick games. Emery only has so much time to save the place she once left behind. For far too long dark witches have been hunted and killed. The bloodshed must end.

Damn, Departed Whispers is such a dark and thrilling tale that you will not be able to put down. Emery is such a bad*ss character and I loved how she handled everything that was going on. I really liked Luther, Atticus, and Kody too! They do have their flaws, but their love for Emery never faded even years after she left. So much went down that I never saw coming, and honestly this book was CRAZY... In a good way! Right when I started it I could tell I was going to love it! I love books that have witches in them, so if you like dark romance, with plenty of twists, steam, and great lead characters go and check this out!

I'm sad that this story is over, but at least they do get a happy ever after. It wasn't easy for them to get to that point though that is for sure. The plot was fantastic and had great world building. What I really loved is that Emery and her guys never gave up and that even though their reunion was a rocky one, they still held on to those feelings of love and safety. I could go on and on about this story, but how about you just go and read it!

You aren’t ready for this dark, twisty, and witchy ride. J Rose pulled me in from the start and I didn’t want to see this story end.

Emery is this badass mofo of a dark/black magick witch that I love with every ounce of my being. She is stubborn, strong willed, brave and is willing to do any and everything to protect those that she loves…even if that means sacrificing herself.

Luther, Kody, and Atticus - the protector, the sweet and studious one, and the angry one. These three won my heart with their loyalty to one another and their undying love for Emery.

These four together was a hot fusion of sexual tension, anger that melded into forgiveness, delicious banter and so much love and respect. Don’t even get me started on the hot as Hades steam.

J Rose worked her magick with this mindtrip of a tale weaving her signature style of angst and emotional pulls with a supernatural twist. I loved how she didn’t make this your typical good versus evil, she took this story and made it completely her own by showing that owning your darkness can be a saving grace. The character development and world build is perfection, to say the least, and kept me glued to my kindle. But, it’s this talented author’s way of creating a world with characters that I didn’t want say goodbye to that made this one of my favorite reads of the year.

I didn’t even realize that I was getting an ARC for this, but I’m so glad I did! J Rose’s books always blow me away and this one did not disappoint. I love everything about Emery. I love her attitude, style, and her craziness lol. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love crazy? Also, Luther? 🥵 Not that I don’t love Atticus and Kody as well! This is second chance romance and a little bit of enemies to lovers.

Departed Whispers by

J Rose has converted me to a RH PNR reader I LOVED it. Babe you have smashed it once again!!

Emery is a dark witch, with good morals, but has a WHOLE personality packing behind that dark side. Let's just say you would not like to get on the wrong side of her but she is loyal to an absolute fault and will always protect those she loves. She has other witches after her as they see her dark magic as pure evil, when in fact, its not (well, not entirely 😏).

“𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒓’𝒔 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖.”

Emery's childhood best friends, Luther, Kody and Atticus come back into her life and need her help with an evil demon that has taken over their town. The whirlwind between those three and Emery will give you all the butterflys and feels. Luther with his alpha self claims Emery straight away. Kody with his sweet/nerdy self just missed his best friend and wants her back in their life in whatever capacity he can have her. Atticus is your moody a-hole who can't forgive her for leaving them all those years ago. What they all go through together is so tragically beautiful. The love they have for each other is so strong with a bond that is unbreakable.

“𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒇 𝑰 𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒌𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒄𝒌?”

They all have dirty as fuck mouths but Luther's is 🥵 and the actions live up to it and more!! The chemistry between Emery and each of the boys is sizzling! They're all alpha in their own way with her.

“𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒕?”
“𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒍.”

This book was intense and freaky as hell. I had no idea what way the book was going to go or what was coming. I had ghostbumps through most of the book. Azazel scared the living shit out of me. Emery is one brave witch to go up against him. I LOVE Maude, I want a sassy ghost best friend. Lots of things happened in this book that I did not expect whatsoever. Expect the unexpected when diving into this.
The ending was just perfect but I'm not ready to let them all go. I want more😭😩.

I’m speechless after finishing this book. J Rose once again swept me up into her dark and exciting world with dynamic characters and intriguing plot. Departed Whispers follows Emery Lockwood as she is brought back to her childhood home by one of her ex-best friends. Reaper’s Hollow is being terrorized and as a witch who practices dark magick, she’s the only one who has any hope of helping the town. This is the perfect second chance romance in a dark setting that had me swooning over the love interests. There’s Luther, our dominant leader of the group who takes care of Emmy and his brothers. He’s cunning and controlling in the best ways. Kody is a nerdy bookworm who tried to compensate for Emery’s absence by doing his own research. He’s such a sweetheart and I absolutely adore him. Atticus is a tortured soul with secrets and takes the longest to warm up to Emery’s return to Reaper’s Hollow. He’s an amazing compliment to Emery’s character as they both have a similar darkness residing in them.

Departed Whispers has everything I love in a book. The romance between the characters is scorching hot with lots of kink involved. The plot is captivating in a way that has you desperately turning the page to find out what happens next. The characters themselves are complex with lots going on, and are written in a way that I can connect with them on an intimate level.

You can expect secrets to be reveal, relationships to be tested, and lots of twists and turns in J Rose’s newest release.

Dark, twisted and sexy story!

WOW! This was one hell of an explosive paranormal RH romance that was absolutely phenomenal! The outstanding imagery and detailed world building had me instantly transported into world filled with witches, demons, violence and magic. I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, with my heart ready to explode out of my chest and unable to put the book down. I was instantly captivated and enthralled and I devoured the book in a few hours.

It’s a dark and twisted story with touches of extreme violence and gore but with an underlying layer of passion and love.

Emery is an remarkable woman who has been through hell and back but doesn’t let that stop her. She’s a survivor, a force to be reckoned with and one badass witch! The three brothers from her past, force their way back into her life and show her how strong they are together. Their connection with Emery is unparalleled and undeniable and the chemistry between them was intense, passionate and extremely hot!

This story was extraordinarily well written with characters that were complex and relatable, and with a plot that was so very twisted that it continually kept me in suspense of how it was all going to end.

I loved every second of this amazing story!

Departed Whispers is a very original storyline and remained unpredictable throughout the book. It brought elements of BDSM, paranormal and reverse harem all into one book with drama to boot! The author could have easily ended the book three-fourths of the way through but the end added a truly suspenseful element and took it to the next level. Great read but beware there are some triggering elements within the book!

“I’m gonna brand my name on your tight ass so everyone around here knows who you belong to. My brothers and I own you, Emery Lockwood.”

Departed Whispers is a perfect read for the witchy season - dark paranormal romance with second chance and friends to enemies(?) to lovers vibes, a dark witch, demons, blood, death, and chaos.

Great world-building. I loved the witchy world Jessalyn designed. The differences between the dark and light witches and the true cause of witch trials that killed so many centuries before. Specifically, I loved how she highlighted the hypocrisy of the witches who claimed to be good.
The FMC might have been labeled dark, but she was the most morally sound witch present. I was grinning wickedly, reading her bloodlust for the truly evil people who suffered her attention.

FMC was a strong character, but I felt like she granted forgiveness too readily. I like a bit more groveling to go with my lies and betrayal. I wanted to see genuine remorse from the MMCs for the multiple lies that hurt her.

The romance is a bit insta-lust/love with minimal on-page relationship building. But it makes for a fast-burn and very spicy romance with a bit of punishment, hate fucking, degradation and praise, knife and blood play, bondage, and sensory deprivation. There are MF and group scenes.

I have a big issue with one of the smutty scenes:
Proper anal prep? 👍
Spit as lube? 🤔 Maybe…
P to A? 👍
A to P? 🚫🚫🚫 Fuck no! Please, god, no!

A very dark PNR; everyone is morally grey by the end yet gets the HEA they deserve.

Genre: Dark Paranormal Romance
Tropes/Features: friends to enemies (maybe?) to lovers, second chance, dark witch FMC, brothers, ghost BFF, violence, demons, daddy kink & darker kinks: punishment, breath play, knife and blood play, degradation, dp
Narrator: Multipl1 1st Person POV
Relationship Type: Why Choose MFMM, fast burn, very spicy (numerous kinks)
Book Type/Ending: Standalone with HEA
TW/CW: Available in Author’s Note

Picked for the cover. The snake one around the ouji pick, not whatever Goodreads just replaced it with. Time of death on this one 70%. After that it was because I had to get through the thing. One dark witch and three childhood friends. One family murder later and a whole new life without the boys, until there's trouble at home years in the making. Given what the guys were going through, it's surprising that two out of three were so inviting. Grumpy Atticus, Bubbly and nerdy Kody, steadfast Luther with the whole daddy thing.

Actions speak louder than words...usually. The dark evil witch thing was constantly reminded. It's a shame about Maude, since I did like the ghost sidekick thing. Atticus' magic was interesting as well. Then it's the demon and secrets. I lost interest at 70%. End of the world imminent, yet still time for sex to forget and the to battle speech. Like a fairytale, light and dark sweep history under the rug to work together. It felt rushed and contained given what the leaders put the group through. 2.5 stars.

This is a rebrand and re-release of Departed Whispers.
Emery is badass dark witch who has been on the run after the death of her family leaving behind her three best friends and vowing never to return.
Years later Luther, Kody and Atticus search for Emery and try to convince her to help them rid a curse on their town. The twist and turns had me not wanting to put this sorry down.
The guys are so different which really makes their dynamic come together and make Emery feel complete.

Things to know
paranormal, why choose romance, occult, death, death of parent(s), blood play, breath play, knife play, and light BDSM, strong FMC, witches v. demons

I was excited to get an ARC for this book. It's the first one I've read by this author. I dabble a little bit in paranormal romance every now and then. I enjoyed the story of Emery and her three guys! It gave me supernatural (the show) vibes.

The story was interesting. A dark witch on the run from her old coven. She had to leave her 3 best friends behind but they came together again to form an interesting group. There were some twists I didn't expect and some I found a bit predictable but I enjoyed them!

The writing was done well. The author definitely has a great imagination because I felt immersed in the story. I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters though which is usually crucial for me when rating a book.

I struggled with the reverse harem aspect and the dirty talk in this book. I am a smut reader (guilty pleasure 🙈) so it just wasn't it for me but that's okay! We all have our own tastes. Some of the pet names were original but a little cringey for me (short stack).

The way the author ended the book was strange. It left off seeming like there would be another book to continue which I liked but then there was the epilogue and bonus scene years in the future. It was odd. I think the author was trying to give the readers some closure and a HEA.

I have received an ARC of this book, but I did pre-order it as soon as it was announced because I love everything J. Rose has written so far.

Departed Whispers is the third book in the Twisted Legends Collection and it can be read as a standalone. Just like all her other books, this one is a dark one. It is a paranormal reverse harem romance that includes witches and demons.

“I have always been more comfortable with the dead over the living. Less complications.”

The story follows Emery and her three childhood best friends who have to work together in order to save Reaper’s Hollow. Emery is a really well-written character. The way she holds herself doesn't change once her best friends come back into the picture and I loved that so much.

"Whether we live or die, I don't give a damn. As long as I die with you in my arms, I'll happily walk through the gate of Hell, hand in hand.”

The plot of the book was amazing, although there were moments when I felt like the pace of the story slowed down and there wasn't much happening. But the twists and turns kept me glued to the pages.

If you liked J. Rose's previous books or if you are a fan of paranormal romances then this one is most definetly for you.

J. Rose loves hitting all the emotions and this one was no different.

Emery and her guys take us on a wild, emotional adventure where good vs evil might actually be good vs good or evil vs evil…up to you to decide. But however you choose to see it, this is one kick ass ride that has me wanting to go out and slay some demons!

I love the dynamics of this group. They are fiercely protective of each other and a whole lot of naughty in the bedroom. Give me all the kink with a bunch of alphas! But however alpha these men are, Emery is still a queen. She’ll do whatever it takes to keep her loved ones safe; even if it’s not always the best choice. Gotta love this gal!

From witches to demons to humans, this story will have you entranced from the very first words to ‘The End’

Ok first thing ever since I bawled my eyes out to J.Rose forever ago I have literally loved her.
I thought Forever ago was such a compelling and moving book and nothing else would meet its standards until I read departed whispers.

This book had everything from a sassy Female to a group of protective hotties.
This book was a rollercoaster of epic proportions.

I literally had to read this book twice as it was so well written and at some stages i felt like I was in the story fighting along side Emery and her guys.

Did I cry; yes ,yes I did I cried like a blubbering baby at a certain scene and boy oh boy did J.Rose keep me hanging on that one but I carried on my painful read up to the epilogue and then I cheered like a fan girl at a concert.

I really cannot wait to see what J.Rose brings out next.
Well done you beautiful woman.

Departed Whispers is a paranormal reverse harem standalone. When Emery Lockwood starts to show signs of forbidden left-handed dark magick, her family goes on the run from their coven to Reaper’s Hollow, where everything changes. She makes the decision one fateful night to save herself, choosing to run and save the lives of her three best friends as well. But, all actions have consequences, whether we're aware of them or not. When she's called back to Reapers Hollow thirteen years later regarding deadly chain mail terrorizing the town, she must face what she ran from on all fronts. Can Emery not only fix the three left behind but the tear in the town as well?

I can’t stop crying. Emery’s story has broken and healed my heart. I love her individual connection with each brother and the bond between them all as a group. They truly understand each other and the writing emphasised that unique bond between them all.
I’m so in love with the story writing, the world building and every single moment in the book that I need a physical copy.

It’s natural and unscripted. Driven by the belief that despite all the pain and heartbreak, some people are simply meant to be together. Their souls recognise one another, in darkness and in light.

4/5 3.5/5 🌶️

Witches, witches, witches! They are the mystical ingredient to make a story successful and this book took full advantage of it with great power dynamics and magic system. I loved the conflict between dark and light witches and how it ruled their entire history. The plot was a very bumpy ride … but in a good way. There were so many plot twists. Every time I thought that we were done with surprises, something else happened. It kept me intrigued and on my toes, so no complaining here.

We start with Emory, the main protagonist of the book, and a crazy firecracker, who is a dark witch, doesn’t bow down, she doesn’t cower and has a “take no prisoners” attitude. Our mmcs had their hands full with her. She was a very strong, independent character, her magic was powerful and just amazing. I couldn’t get enough of her powers.

Her boys… oh her boys were also a handful. Their relationship with Em wasn’t easy. It had so many twists and suffering, but it was also intense and magnetic. Our three mmcs, Lithur, Kody and Atticus had very individualistic traits. Sometimes in rh, the mmcs seem to share only one brain cell and it is tiring. This wasn’t the case in this book. All mmcs were possessive and enamored with her, but each one had his own character. I am not sure who I liked more. It changed from chapter to chapter. They were all hella hot though.

I had a few problems with the book though and I think they all start with the fmc. I love strong fmcs and I liked Em and her powers. It was one of the best parts. But her power came too easily and struggles were overcame too fast for me. It felt as like the book was a spicy, witchy, teen drama. I could easily call our fmc Sabrina … and I don’t like that. Finally, the ending was rushed. I was confused. There’s no sugarcoating that. There should have been at least a chapter before the ending, because there’s a time jump that left me bewildered. In conclusion, I enjoyed the characters, the plot, and the magic system. There were some issues, I just didn’t care as much as I could because… witches.

Did I like it? Yeap.
Would I reread it? Nope.

As I say each time, we all have different opinions so my review may or may not be the same as yours and that's completely okay.

⚠️Please ensure you read all triggers to confirm that you are comfortable reading this book. Though it is apart of the collection, it is still a standalone.⚠️

A badass female, three brothers, dark, witchy, filthy.
Can it get any better? Maybe.
If you sprinkle the fact that it's a paranormal romance with brothers who happen to be her best friends from her childhood and now each, charming, dirty, angry, all want her.

So they decided to share.

But I said paranormal didn't I? I did indeed.
The twists and turns J Rose threw my direction while reading this made me fight, kick, scream, gasp and wish to run for the hills. It made me want to do all that and STILL enjoy every page. The plot of this is quite unique, maybe it seems that way for me because I haven't read many paranormal romances but gosh I really liked this.

This is apart of a collection, my first read from the collection as well as my first J Rose read and I am very much not disappointed. If you told me I'd someday find understanding, comfort and laughter in paranormal romances, I would've thrown you out the door so fast you feel the pain before you register what happened.

Hauntingly amazing, devastatingly cute but definitely dark, memorable and filthy oh filthy, don't forget the filthy.
Ask me to pick a brother and I will cast you out the way Em casted that damn demon.
I just damn well wish I read this in October, I can already see myself LOVING every single page, character, paragraph, word and song in the playlist associated with this masterpiece.

Ahhhhh I likeddd this, I don't think I can say it enough ugh, the ending? Gold🥺🤌. Gosh, I never thought I needed a paranormal romance right now but I damn well did and I loved it!

Thanks for coming to my Tedtalk♥︎
I really liked this and I will be reading more J. Rose!
