I survived the first year of the bugpocalypse safety tucked away in my cabin in the mountains. But now, the raiders have found my home. Not only did they ransack my house, but they also left me an unexpected surprise. There’s an injured Xarc’n hunter passed out in my yard!
A storm is brewing, and I can’t leave him outside. He’s bleeding and will lead the bugs right to me. I do the unthinkable and wake the massive, horned warrior. He wakes angry and growling, and I find myself trapped in his arms. I’ve made a huge mistake!
TURR’K
I know the moment I open my eyes that she is the one. I’ve scented her on my mountains all season long and protected her from the deadly scourge. She is mine. Now that she’s in my arms, I will never let her go.
Lynnea Lee is a recovered serial monogamist who now lives in her forever home with the man of her dreams. Still hopelessly addicted to the feeling of falling in love she now feeds her habit with a routine prescription of romance novels and rampant imagination. When she is not dreaming up fantastical stories of love, lust and romance, her hobbies includes talking to her plants, putting on a full face of makeup to stay home on Saturday nights and hugging her dog longer than is appreciated.
Another great story by Lynnea Lee! Even though this story was shorter than the other books in this series, it still had the same flow as the longer ones. I enjoyed the easy relationship between Sandy and Turr'k. He protected and cared for her without being overbearing, and she didn't protest because she knew she needed his help. Right from the very beginning, Sandy knew she could trust him because when he went to warn her of impending danger, he was injured.
This book was short, sweet, and spicy and managed to hold my attention as the story progressed. I will read this book again in the future.
Lynnea has created an interesting world, bugpocolyse. With the help of huge purple aliens, some humans are surviving and fighting back. And of course there are some very bad humans that take, destroy and leave little behind. Sandy has stayed at her family cabin since she realized her parents were not coming back from a supply run. All alone she thought. But Turr'k has followed her scent and protected her from bugs and bad humans. He's sure she is his mate. A well written tale full of danger, humor, friendship, struggle, and so much steam. Great characters and locations and Lynnea's world gets richer and fuller with each amazing book.
This story was shorter than the others and very interesting because I got the feeling that Turr'k wasn't as good a fighter as the other hunters. Or at least I got the feeling because he was always getting hurt by humans (he was never wearing his full armor) whereas the other hunters only ever got hurt by bugs.

This was definitely a cute little prequel to the first book. Follows Sandy, who we meet briefly in Hunter’s Quest. I didn’t like this as much, mostly because it was very short and didn’t spend enough time developing the relationship between the two. It was very very insta-resolved. There was a lot packed into this one story. Cute addition to the world though! And as always quippy, easy to read writing.
When everyone finds this series they’re gonna power read just like everyone did IPB.
The bugapocalypse has hit earth and Sandy is just trying to survive in her family’s cabin. One day she finds a wounded alien in her front yard and of course love ensues. This was a quick read and an okay story.
Sandy and Turr'k I received this through signing up for Lynnea Lee's newsletter. Having read the Xarc'n warriors series, naturally, I started the Xarc'n mountain warriors series. This is a great start. It will be fun to read about a new location and group.
Loving the Mountain crew spin off. Sandy and Turr'k were a fun couple to follow. Just the right amount of conflict to enhance the story. Makes for a quick, slightly steamy read.
