Desire the Star

Rate this book
What do you want, Star?

I arrive at Pacific Crest University at the lowest point of my life. After a stumble on icy steps, my promising music career is gone.

I don't know what my purpose is. All I know is that Nathan Davis is at Pacific Crest. My childhood crush, my best friend’s older brother.

But Nathan has changed. He's bigger. Angrier.

And he has three new friends.

Reeve McClellan, Blake Phillips, and Evan Hayes – they’re rising stars, close-knit and secretive. All of them want something from me.

As for Reeve, the mastermind of the group? He wants everything from me.

While Nathan tries to push me away, his friends entice me into a world of debauchery, wicked dreams, dark desires . . . and magic.

Yet they’ll learn that I’m no mere toy. I have plans of my own.

At Pacific Crest University, nothing comes for free.
Not love.
Not sex.
And definitely not magic.

The Serpentine Duet is a twisty NA romance with supernatural and reverse harem elements.

3 Fallen Stars ⭐

All the gratitude for storytelling that got me out of my reading funk. Beautifully written, poetic, sexy. But, truthfully the story itself was not for me. Supernatural themes / mythology, it never has been; and all the secrets to unravel had me feeling impatient. In all fairness, the vague blurb and the author itself was what sold me.

We want you, Daisy. We see you. You’re a star.

Daisy is wonderfully talented. On the cusp of becoming a professional flutist, it takes one slip up for all her dreams to end. With New York behind her, she's back in her hometown attending college. An empty shell without any real direction.

Four Kings of College. Popular and Rich, they are who everyone wants to know. Ironic since Daisy already has ties with one of them. But it's more than that. It's like Reeve, Nate, Evan and Blake have been waiting for her.

“There are signs. Tests. For the Star, we’ll find a way. Be cautious, my friends. If she’s what we want, what we need, the one — then she has the power to destroy us all.”

Desire the Star is a story filled with an abundance of mystery and more questions than answers. Yes, Yes Part 2 is coming, however I have no inclination to read it. Honestly this story was really well written, it's simply a case of its me not you...

Umm what does 'reverse harem elements' even mean??

Either a book is RH, meaning the heroine has equal emotional relationships with all the men and ends up in permanent relationships with them all, or it just has a single main MF couple with the occasional group sex scene involving other men. Unless those men are also equal emotional partners, the book isn't RH.

According to another review this is 'MF with sharing', so like... it doesn't seem to be RH. In which case honestly the phrase RH should never have been used, because that's just false expectations.

I actually have had this issue with the author before; she has a series labelled MFM which ends as MF. This is really disappointing, because it wasn't made clear from the start that there wouldn't be an established threesome relationship.

This is the only book that could keep my attention in my reading slump this month, Miranda is so skilled at writing fantastic hero’s and in this duet we get FOUR!! If you like books that leave you kinda confused and super natural/god vibes this setting is totally intriguing. The more you read on the more there is to uncover about the four boys daisy entwines her life with. How are they so powerful and what secrets are they keeping?? It was so interesting and the men were HOT with filthy mouths. I’m so excited for the second installment to see how these 5 figure all their shit out because i have absolutely no idea where this is leading and i love it !!!

Desire the Star is book 1 in the Serpentine duet. A paranormal romance. It’s polyamorous and Daisy is definitely lucky to have 4 men wanting her. The reason why they’re interested, drawn and fascinated with her is still a mystery. The 4 men Reeve, Blake, Evan and Nate share a connection which is why they’re very close. One I can’t wait to find out more about.
The steam is definitely on point.

I was immediately intrigued by the magical elements of the story. Also by the serpent which feeds on desire. I have a favorite of the four men and I’m eager to find out more about them and what they want with Daisy. Sadly I didn’t get answers, only more questions. A lot of telling instead of showing. There’s progression but it’s a slow pace.
Still I’m going to read book 2 cause I’m very invested in the story and its characters.

This is super disappointing and messy :/

I've been looking forward to this book before I even knew what it was about, when the author was posting the first teasers on her Twitter. And I'm genuinely sad that it's such a let down. I tried narrowing down why I just couldn't enjoy this book at all:

❌ The writing. I read Priceless a while ago, and from what I remember from that book, this feels like an entirely different author. In short, it's super messy and disorted. The pacing is off - we jump from one scene to the next, flashbacks or visions are weirdly incorporated into the text and not very well marked (as in set apart from the main text, you sometimes don't know if what's written is a flashback or the story or whatever else). The style is also weird to me: the dialogue is a bit cringy at times (like it tries very hard to be deep and poetic, but it just feels pretentious), and the way the characters were describing each other?

❌ The main female character. It's one of my major pet peeves when the heroine is annoying or embarrassing, and I'm sad to say that Daisy was both. I didn't hate her, but I also really couldn't root for her.

❌ This might also count as writing, but I think the way the characters are all introduced was atrocious. Idk it might just be me but we don't even get to know Daisy before her life-changing accident, and then suddenly she is at Nathan's house, he randomly appears, kisses her, and leaves. And it happens exactly as abrupt as I've written it. This way of introducing characters and pacing in general continues like that, which resulted in me not really caring for any of the characters, cause I couldn't connect to them.

❌ The... "plot"? Listen, the magic system introduced here is interesting, and I was super curious as to how things worked in this world. But that is not enough for a book - you need an actual plot. And characters keeping secrets from one another is not plot. Seriously, if you removed their secret keeping (which was really annoying), what's left?

❌ As mentioned above, I did like the general idea of this magic world, but the way it was presented to the reader was kinda stupid. Like, we get like a page just randomly mentioning Daisy has been practicing "magic"/casting spells since she was fourteen, and that's it? Just randomly mentioning this before going to the next scene/chapter? No more background info on that? It felt super disjointed.

If I'm being honest, I started struggling with this book in the very early chapters. Had this been a random read I would have just DNFed, but because I've been looking forward to this for so so long I pushed through, cause I was hopeful it would get better. I don't really know what happened here, because the major turn off for me is the writing, and I've always enjoyed this author's book before.

Wow! Get ready for the edge!

This is such a delicious story, working at so many levels. It edges the reader just as the heroine herself is constantly edged by her four very twisty, slippery boys. She never wants it to end and neither did I! I can’t wait for book 2!
Edited to add: I should also praise the worldbuilding. The author's use of the Tarot is incredibly effective - perfect little touches here and there. Although this is paranormal romance, it never felt divorced from reality. It's reality+. Amazingly well done.
Highly recommended.

What a peculiar, paranormal book with lots of spice and an overall sense of mystery. 🔥

I'm telling you right at the start to go into this book blind. I didn't expect Miranda Silver to do anything even similar to this. It's so different from her other books but so magically good.

I don't want to spoil even the smallest thing, so I will try my hardest to do that. This book isn't a reverse harem, but it's more so MF with sharing, voyeurism, with the promise of MM and I believe rituals?! Daisy is this innocent character that gets her dreams shattered who meets four guys, who got their dreams fulfilled. You get the reserved, beastly pianist Evan; a flirtatious, sunny chef Blake; a brooding, protective assholish sportsman Nathan and a dominating businessman Reeve. She has a crush on one of them and gets mixed up in their lives. I wish we got to see more of all of the heroes, there was a definite focus on one and he got me curious and wondering about his whole backstory. The sense of mystery and danger is very prominent in this book and I'm looking forward to book two because I desperately want to know more. 🙈

When it comes to the smut, I have to say, it was spicy, sexy and new. There is some strong object play in this book, voyeurism, sharing scenes and a very thorough introduction to the world of sex for the heroine. There is so much smut you might even miss there isn't the main act anywhere in this book. Also, some light FF which got me excited.

My favourite scenes were definitely the sharing ones, but Evan's orchestra concert takes the top spot.

If you saw the movie Jennifer's Body this has the similar overall vibe. Like a combination of a fairytale, witches, dealing with the devil and so much more. I can't put my finger on it, but it sucks you in and doesn't let you go. Go in blind and enjoy the spooky ride.

Is is possible to read something and love every single syllable of it...but have no idea what you just read?
After devouring Desire the Star, I can unequivocally say YES.
Desire the Star is filled with mystery, sensuality, and magic. It was impossible to separate what was real and what was in our characters' minds.
Who is the bad guy? The real bad guy? Who are the good guys?
I don't know!
I have a clear idea of who I want Daisy to end up with (since Miranda has said this will end in a M/F relationship with some sharing), but I don't know if I'm right yet.
Normally, all of the unanswered questions and the lack of a clear hero would bother me, but Miranda Silver has such a brilliant way of weaving a story, of immersing the reader into this trippy, dreamlike world, that none of that matters. I felt like Daisy, falling into the abyss and loving every second of it, even though I had no idea where I would land.
I can't wait to get my hands on book #2 of this duet, because I trust Miranda to give Daisy (and me) a soft place to land...eventually. It might take some time to get there, but I cannot wait for the continuation of this journey!

Thank you to Miranda and her team for the opportunity to read this ARC. This honest review was based off my experience reading an ARC, which in no way biased me.

I was confused when I started this book, and now upon finishing it I am more confused. That’s not to say that I was not entertained for the journey to wherever this book led me. On vibes alone it was good, but I’m not sure what is supposed to have happened or where this is going to go in book 2. I have a few frustrations with this book, aging up Daisy (she is 19) would have solved at least half of them. The magic system is something I have never seen done before and I wish we would have gotten more information on it, I am hoping this gets explained more in book 2. Three of the four love interests are amazing, it will be interesting to see where this goes as the story continues.

This book felt like a labyrinth. As you continued through the story, you think you are getting somewhere and then BOOM, you’re back to where you started. Just when you think you’re getting answers, you get more questions instead. And if you’re anything like me you’re probably trying to figure out where this is going and to be honest it was a bit annoying (in like a good way cuz it kept me on my toes) that I couldn’t guess what was going to happen before it happened.

Based on vibes this gave me like a feeling of a combo of Lucifer and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, I’m not exactly sure why this book reminded me of these shows, but it did.

This was disappointing, as I've been really looking forward to Miranda Silver's next book. Love Priceless and appreciated Crave.

This book is....overlong. Muddled and vague, with regards to the magic, and a bit pretentious in descriptive terms. It seems to want to appear quite mysterious and dramatic, but ends up with cheese. It, somehow, wasn't nearly as well written as Priceless.

The female MC is vapid, naive, pushy and entitled. Not a fan. She was a talented musician, until an injury, but as we don't get to know her til post-injury, it's all tell, no show. She spends most of the book whining about her crush/injury, panting after boys who are not her crush, failing to ask any pertinent questions, ignoring red flags, planning to steal from the boys she's determined to attach herself to and failing to develop much of a character. But she's gorgeous and a virgin, because of course she is.

The male MCs are of the weird "incredibly powerful, popular, hot and mysterious college students" persuasion (a trope I will never understand - is this an American thing? My experience of uni in the UK was a very different beast!) that run amok in the plethora of 'bully reverse harem' rubbish on the market.

Naturally, they're all terribly attractive, unrealistically important, and somewhat lacking in personality. They each have a 'thing' in place of a personality - business! Sport! Food! Music! Perhaps they will eventually meld, a la power rangers, to become one very well-rounded man.

And they've obviously made some sort of deal with a snake spirit, for talent in their 'thing' and, for some reason, no sex until a big ritual.

What it all seemed to boil down to was 300+ pages of increasingly aggressive fingering. I mean, what? Why?

Oh, there's also a nasty mean girl character, to show how wonderful Our Heroine is in comparison, and provide the occasional bit of lady-snogging, and two featureless roomate/friends, to show that Our Heroine can get along with girls, when required.

3.5/5 stars

I want to preface this review with the fact that I have been a fan of Miranda Silver's work for years at this point. The characters that she creates truly come alive on the page and I love that about her writing. So when I heard that she was coming out with a new duet, I was chomping at the bit to dig into it.

I, like other reviewers, would recommend you going in blind for this one so that you can fully immerse yourself within this world that Miranda has created because I think that that is where this book truly shines.

The book follows the protagonist, Daisy, as her world is somewhat in flux and she is entering a new college. There are four love interests in this story:
-Nate: her best friend's older brother and long-time crush who gives off very untouchable, yet still protective somehow vibes?
-Evan: a wickedly funny and animalistic musician.
-Blake: a sweet, dedicated, and sexy chef (my favorite).
-Reeve: a mysterious, intelligent, and suave businessman.
The author says that the series is primarily M/F with some sharing scenes which I think explains the dynamic fairly well.

What I liked:
-The author does a fantastic job at creating a universe that has intrigue and supernatural elements that I found really refreshing within the genre and a decided departure from her previous works.
-BLAKE. My god, I love that man. He is so kind and sweet. I am hoping there will be even more of him in the second book.
-The build up of anticipation. This point I think is something of a double-edged sword as I feel like this book is very much the set-up for the second in the duet so you are left wanting to immediately dive in to the second book when you get to the end which is great, but can also be frustrating.

What I didn't like:
-Miranda's books have always been extra spicy and I love that about her writing. However, I always felt that the spice and the amount of it didn't get in the way of the story development. I think that this book does suffer from this a bit, unfortunately. There were parts of the book that I just wanted to know more of what was going on plot-wise and have some questions answered and found myself being a little disappointed when there was instead another spice scene. This of course could be just a personal preference thing, of course, but I felt it was worth mentioning.
-While I enjoyed Reeve as a character and enjoyed the scenes between him and Daisy, I wished that there had been more development between herself and the other male characters. Now, this could just be because I've decided Blake is my new book boyfriend and I just want to bask in the sunshine-y rays of his sweetness...But I'm hoping I- I mean WE- can do that in the second book.
-Lastly, I wanted to touch on what I made my last point in what I liked. I know that this is a duet so I don't think this is that much of an issue; however, I felt like I was just having more and more questions pile up and I felt that most-if not all- of my questions were left unanswered by the end of the first book. All that being said, it definitely has me very excited for when the second book comes out so I can find out how everything comes together.

I would recommend this book to fans of Miranda's previous work and I think this would be a great introduction to her work for people who love the paranormal romance genre and want to transition into NA romance. This book is darker than her previous books so be warned going in and keep an open mind.

Desire the Star by Miranda Silver will throw you into a maze of magic, madness, emotions, passion and suspense. And you will end up with so many questions in first book of this paranormal reverse harem college romance. Complex and dangerous and fascinating characters will keep on haunting you even after you close the book.

Daisy comes to Pacific Crest university after she broke her wrist and lost her future as a musician. Her childhood crush and best Friend's brother Nathan is here too. But he is not the same guy. He is dark and stormy. And she suspects it's because of his new friends who live in the lavish House. Reeve the stockmarket magician and filthy rich host. Blake the master chef. Evan the genius pianist. She doesn't understand why they create this visceral reaction in her. Are they playing a game? Is Greer Hill really haunted? Why her own magic is causing mayhem?

I loved this whole idea of dark magic and supernatural vibes. These men are slave to a bigger power that controls them and demands sacrifice. They made the deal with the devil and they have to pay. Daisy can be their absolution but they don't know how exactly. It's risky. I love that Daisy knows and understands the power of magic and paranormal elements. The author gave her more power than the men. She is fierce and sassy and sometimes reckless. Reeve is the twisted and unhinged one but he is also the leader. Blake and Evan are more lighthearted. Nate is trapped between trying to protect Daisy from their deviant world and getting freedom. The chemistry is excellent. Desire and passion is the driving force here so you can expect lots of filthy dirty debauchery. The story is a bit too slow. And a lot of time I was going in circles and that made me impatient. Whenever I thought Daisy is asking the right questions and hoped fir answer, the author distracted with steamy scenes and we didn't make any progress. I hope things will pick up in next book as I really want answers.

First I would like to say thank you so much Miranda Silver for giving me the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! This book is unlike anything I've ever read and I loved every second of it. When I say I went into this knowing nothing I mean I knew nothing and I think it’s best to go in fairly blind.

Desire the star is the first book in the serpentine duet and it's a paranormal romance. After suffering an accident innocent and very curious Daisy moves to a new school where she gets entangled with a group of talented, alluring and extremely mysterious boys. First there's football star Nathan, her best friends brother and first crush. Then their is Sarcastic, beastly piano player Evan. And Blake a sweet, flirty chef. Finally there is dark , dominant businessman, Reeves.

The Magic used in this book is so unique and different from what I've read before, it uses witchcraft, herbal magic and tarot cards. it created such a natural, spiritual, and alluring atmosphere that I couldn't get enough of. Another thing I really loved about this book was the mystery you knew something was going on but you don't know what, so it keeps you guessing and reading for clues.

Each of the characters bring something different to the story and I love everyone of them… well except one but I’m sure I’ll come around in the second book! This is extremely important to me with reverse harem type books, because if they’re not distinct enough I don’t enjoy them, but it was done perfectly.

A focus of this book is desire, sexual desire being a major aspect of this story, so yes the smut is hot!!! There is lots of kink and In some ways this might have been the dirtiest thing I’ve ever read! There is reverse Harem elements so a lot of sharing and voyerism goes on. There’s some great praise and degradation combo and lots more

I honestly Can’t recommend this book enough I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I finished yesterday and I need the next book immediately. Miranda Silvers writes such amazing books and spice this one is right up there with priceless in my favourites list.

Picked for the cover and because the blurb sounded alright too. Going into it I wasn't so sure since there's three things I'm not too keen to read at the moment. School, Teenagers and Cults, no matter how small the gathering. I liked this one though. A lot of mystery and secrecy. One house, four popular and talented guys. One FMC with an injured wrist wishing she could play the flute again.

No penetration but plenty of teasing, sexual exploration and general desire. Pretty Reeve heavy, but I liked that he was the dark seduction type leader with all the control. Blake and Evan were pretty much stuck at the hip with their encounters. Nate was the one trying to protect and screwing it all up, he was my least favourite of the quartet. Mentions of M/M but none yet, F/F with Tara playing seducer. I'm curious about what happens next and just how things will ramp up when the guys can finally do as they want.

Recap:-

FMC - Daisy Fisher (Star)
Guys - Reeve (Devil), Evan (Beast), Blake (Ace) and Nate (Knight)
Bad guy - Tara, Chancellor? Snake?

Broken wrist, dreams shattered...dreams...Reunion gone wrong with Nate...Transfer...Meeting Blake...House break in...Meeting Evan and Reeve...Reeve taking control...Magic woods...Snakes...Fortune telling...Sex and Control...Hunting for the truth...Deal struck with Nate...Kidnapped...Crawling out cliffhanger...

Like other reviews mention, you need to go into this book (and eventual duet) blind so I won't give much away.

This world is so intriguing and you won't know what's up or down, or who's good or bad. Daisy finds herself at PCU after a wrist injury ruins her lifelong work at being a flutist. She's completely lost but has hope that she'll find her way back to herself after running into Nathan, her childhood crush and best friend's brother. Except, Nathan's not who he used to be and the life he's living, the people he's living it with are mysterious and all seem connected to Daisy somehow.

This book has magical/paranormal elements, four very different male interests, and Daisy. I was immediately hooked into this world and it's a really well written story. This story centers mainly on one of the men and Daisy and I wish we got to see her with the others a bit more. I was also left with a lot of questions and they kept racking up. Since it's a duet, I knew there was going to be a cliffhanger but there's a bit too many unanswered questions left for me.

All said and done, I'm very, very curious to see how the story pans out and to see who Daisy ends up with.

It’s my second Miranda Silver book, and I see a pattern. The FMC is perfect or pretty close to it, but she has some problems, and the MMC is some big shot that doesn’t tell her stuff about himself.

Daisy was a great musician, she had a bright career in front of her, but then she broke her hand, and her future shattered. When she moves to a new college she meets these popular guys and hits it off with their leader. Things get hot, and they get weird, and she’s in the dark about what Reeve, and the other guys, want from her. I have to say that keeping her in the dark throughout the whole book, and constantly testing her if she’s the one for them, annoyed me so much.

I like Silver’s normal and easy-to-read writing, although she could work a bit on her storytelling. As I said, I already read one of her books, Priceless, and it had a similar, if not the same, pattern as I saw here. Not letting Daisy know things about the guy(s) till the end, and in this case not even at the end of the book, is frustrating. The reader knows those things, but dragging the mc through the whole book clueless takes away a bit.

The supernatural element was a surprise to me, however, I like that Daisy was doing witchy things. The smut was good too. It’s under “Reverse harem”, but is it a reverse harem book? Because Daisy is mostly with Reeve only, there are a few scenes with most of the guys, but again it’s more only Reeve.

4/5

I had the amazing opportunity to read this as an ARC. Thank you Miranda ♥️

I’m struggling to put this into words because this book came out of nowhere I didn’t know what to expect. But on a lighter note the smut deserves its own 5 stars cause holy sh*t the ✨creativity✨ these men went through for Daisy 🥵💀😂 These four men are just *chefs kiss* I don’t know what Miranda put in these men but they’re god tier.

It’s hard to say if I fully understood the story or not. In some ways I did and other ways I didn’t. I felt as though I became Daisy throughout the story of twists and turns, but even then I couldn’t seem to fully trust her.

I was left alone to navigate what exactly these college kids were up to in this paranormal mystery romance. And when I think I’ve reached an answer as I’m nearing the end, I felt like I was back at square one all over again. But that’s not bad thing because this book was a maze. You get lost so you might as well enjoy your way through the adventure instead rushing for the exit. Reading Desire the Star felt like you’re falling down the rabbit hole but never landing but you’re enjoying every second of the journey.

Either way this book is going to blow your mind. Don’t expect Priceless. Expect different — but a good different. I’m patiently waiting for book two!!

STEAM: 5/5🌶

I’m not one to go in blindly.. just kidding lately I have and I fucking love it. A college, paranormal romance filled with suspense, steamy and spells 🪄?! This dynamic is intriguing as it has RH elements. M/F with sharing so she will pick one at the end of this duet, is what I’m getting the vibes of?! Tell me if I’m wrong?! CAUSEEE IM IN LOVE WITH ALL OF THEM, however one does make it to my heart than the others so I wouldn’t be upset either..

As much as I loved the suspense and steam, there were parts where it was very confusing and hard to articulate bc it happened so suddenly and change course very quickly. Also Daisy, naive Daisy, what’s up homegirl? Curiosity kills a cat , ever heard of the saying?! THINK BABYGIRL

“Draping an arm around Blake, Evan jabbed the reversed Knight of Wands. “That’s our Nate. And here’s Blake in his glory,” he added, tapping the Ace. “This one’s me, obviously.” He patted Strength, lingering on the beast. “Reeve — damn, you picked three for him. He must really be on your mind.” Heat stained my cheeks as he flicked the Nine of Swords, the Devil, and the Tower. “And you, in the middle of us all — the Star.” He stroked the woman’s arm.”

I’m claiming my inner witch now.. thank you very much

🔥🔥🔥🔥

-paranormal romance
-praise, degradation, sharing, voyeurism

mcs: daisy, nathan, evan, blake & reeve

After a career ending accident Daisy loses her scholarship to her prestigious music school and is forced to transfer to Pacific Crest State University. She’s looking for a fresh start and ends up finding a whole new world.

The night before her first day at Pacific Crest she runs into her longtime crush, Nathan. He later introduces her to his friends:

Blake: the sweet, sexy chef. (This man 🤤😍)

Evan: the funny musician.

Reeve: the mysterious businessman.

This is mainly M/F with sharing, voyeurism, and an exploration of many kinks.

There are also paranormal aspects to the story that I haven’t quite figured out, but the vibes of this book are it. Tarot cards, crystals, spell-binding. It is all so interesting! I can’t wait to learn more in the second book!

I highly recommend going into this blind, you will not be disappointed!

Incredibly creative with amazing prose but one of the most annoying female leads I have ever met. It’s such a shame since almost every other aspect of this book is 5 stars. I loved Daisy at the start- her turmoil, desperation, and ego all made her an incredibly compelling character for me. These are traits you won’t find in female characters period, not just in the RH genre. Unfortunately, these traits are quickly replaced by “horny” and Daisy turns into a ditzy bordering TSTL lead. The male leads have incredible depth, history, complexity, and motivations to them, and in comparison, Daisy comes off as a spoiled little girl. It makes the smut awkward to read when mentally and emotionally she’s on par with that of a child. I found the female antagonist to be more likable.

Not sure if I’ll finish the series.

I have no idea wtf that was. It was so confusing I had no idea who’s side I was supposed to be on. The supernatural element made like 0 sense. I also had no idea if it was actually a RH or what. All of the characters except her and the boys r forgotten so easily like her best friend and feel like they’re only there for small moment to try and further the plot. Overall book was just confusing and the writing was not good.

“Something that needs to be there,” he said calmly. I arched my back, rubbing against the object. “If you search my room, Daze, expect to be fucked by what you find.”

….

Also one of the dudes calls her star of the cosmos during like sex and it’s so odd I can’t.

I love that feeling of happily stumbling through a story that is so immersive and hard to get back to reality.🖤 This story does that for me. You meet Daisy who after 12 years of playing the flute and obtaining a scholarship to go to her dream school she suffers a horrible event that concludes her music career. Needing a fresh start, she attends Pacific Crest State University and meets Reeve, Blake, Evan and Nate who happens to be her longtime crush. Definitely go into this blind and you’re in for a wild ride!

The vibes alone are phenomenal. The plot is well thought through and creative. I love these characters. They all have beautifully unique and strong personalities. The emotions of the characters are depicted beautifully and realistically. The pacing is perfect and I never felt bored or like I was rushing through a story. I loved the connection of the characters to tarot cards. After ending in a cliffhanger, I need the next book asap.
