Fantastic!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: blackmail
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Dark, twisted, and super hot! I think this is my favorite FMC of the series with her quick wit and her ability to slice and dice with tongue, lol. The story was well written and super fast paced. Loved all relationship rollercoaster. Camrynn was the only one who could hold her own with Declan. I think they're my fave because it reminds me of me and my hubby, lol. Seriously good read and I have really enjoyed the three books I've read so far. Looking forward to finishing the series!

★★ A NOTE FROM MARLEE ★★
¸.•*´(¸.•*´ (¸.•*´(¸.•*´★`*•.¸)`*•.)`*•.¸)`*•.¸.

Wicked Demands is a new adult romantic suspense novel with an indecent proposal that the heroine feels she must accept. Although it has some of the same elements found in the 1st Dark Knights story, there are some big differences, too.

Most of my heroes are self-made men, rather than heirs to vast fortunes. But I am fascinated by the lives of the super rich, and by the fact that fame and fortune can’t protect a person from tragedy and loss.

When I began writing about Declan’s friendship with Shane, I knew one of the things that bound them together as friends was that they both lost their mothers young. In Declan’s case, I imagined a mysterious death for his beautiful, glamorous mother. One that has haunted him all his life. (Her death is somewhat reminiscent of that of actress Natalie Wood.)

But let's face it, at the start of story, Declan has everything going for him, and he's certainly aware of the power he wields. The thing about Camrynn is that she pushes back against his arrogance, which deep down makes him respect her more.

They are from such different backgrounds that they interact with the world in totally divergent ways. And the chemistry and the struggle between them means that the ending involved some pretty powerful emotions. It was really satisfying to see it play out on the page.

I hope you love it!

xoxo, Marlee

I can’t’ believe I waited so long to read this book 🤦. It was a delicious dark romance and Camrynn and Declan had amazing chemistry 🔥. The dialogue between these characters … especially when she tuned him in was epic.

The mystery of Casanova is ongoing into the 3rd, final book which is Erik’s. Gonna start that right now 😏

3.5 stars rounded down for GR. College girl has a steamy encounter with the school's rich quarterback, which her conniving family uses to blackmail him behind her back. To settle the debt, she agrees to be "his" for two weeks.

The author did a good job of portraying Declan as entitled and arrogant, such as having a personal security team or respecting his servant Briggs while also holding him at arms length. His chemistry with Camrynn was exceptional, and some of their early scenes in particular just about lit my Kindle on fire. 🔥 Declan knows what he likes in bed and expects Camrynn to follow his every order, a dynamic they both really enjoy, but she also gives him plenty of sass along the way. I adored how Camrynn kicked him to the curb without hesitation when he was acting like a complete d*ck near the end of the book.

For cons, some of the dialogue was strange, like it didn't sound like how someone would actually talk. There were also some spots where things were overexplained, or we get details that don't contribute anything noteworthy to the story. And this is perhaps a silly thing to quibble over, but sometimes chapters ended abruptly which made for a weird transition to the next one.

This is #2 in a series and I think it would work ok as a standalone, but reading book #1 first would be a better experience. I'll definitely be reading book #3 when it's out.

Absolutely loved this story. Wanted to ignore Christmas TV so I could read it!
Camrynn's got herself mixed up with the Heyworths, a wealthy and influential family at Granthorpe University, and so she agrees to be a 'sex slave' to Declan Heyworth (a friend of Shane Moran, the hero of book 1) for a fortnight. He's the only man she's ever been interested in after a brief encounter at his family home.
Neither expect more from the arrangement. But, the serial killer, Casanova is still a threat at GU, and there are other dangers for them both, especially given that Cami is a journalist.
Cami maybe young and a virgin, but she is strong and feisty and no pushover. A brilliant heroine. Declan is stunned by his feelings for her, and grows as a character during the story.
Book 2 of the Dark Knights does not disappoint. Bring on the next.

~ mf virgin h, experienced H
~ debt repayment
~ cnc/free use
~ Dom/brat
~ insta love, he falls first

✅ no ow/cheating/sharing, no pregnancy, no mc death, it’s a pretty safe book other than the free use non con

Cami agrees to be Declan’s sex slave for two weeks in order to pay off a debt. While Declan is an experienced lover, he isn’t a manwhore, having recently finished a one year relationship because they of different bed preferences. Cami is of course a virgin.

I wanted to love this, but I just couldn’t. The writing felt very stiff in places. I understood the kind of domineering energy the author was going for with Declan but for some reason it fell flat for me, and I didn’t understand exactly what he wanted from Cami. Free use? Pain? CNC? Just rough dominant sex? I loved how Cami pushed back against him, loved the banter and sarcasm, plus she booted his ass to the curb when he needed it.

I really enjoyed when Declan was jealous and possessive, we all know I’m a huge fan of other man drama. A drunk Declan is a fun Declan and I wish we had his drunken rant to the other man who never was, Erik. I wish the author had explored more Cami/Erik interactions, but I’m never satisfied 😂

In addition the timeline was too short for me to buy both his insta love or his change of character, the book happens over a matter of days, it lacked details where details were needed, this would have been better as a duet, which I rarely say!

The big emotional scene towards the end also fell flat, with too much plot device, and I didn’t viscerally experience Declan’s feelings or his sense of loss. I should have been crying but my eyes were dry.

It was nice to see Shane and Avery again, one other note we learn that Declan blames his dad for his moms death, and we find out not only is that not true but his Dad loved her despite her many flaws. Some type of reconciliation of family was missing. I will still read Eriks book even though his heroine doesn’t interest me much.

I am really enjoying this series so far! This is a total standalone romance but it is so much better if you’ve read the first one as it talks about Shane who is Declan’s best friend, In this story, Declan is upset that his family is being extorted by Camrynn’s family. However, he cannot deny that he is attracted to her. These two strike a deal but something more sinister is happening in the background . This book is intense, steamy and so riveting to read. I cannot wait to see what happens next!.

I received a free advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest review.

I've gone back and forth about how i feel about this book

So Declan and Camryn met a year before the start of this book. He thought she was her sister cos it was dark and they look alike. He spanks and she likes it and then the sister (Taylor i think) walks in has a fit and they both leave.

Her mum and sister blackmail Declan for money so that Cam can get into college but her and Declan don't know about it. His uncle pays them off. Then everyone finds out and her mum is in trouble so she is in a doctors office making sure she is still a virgin to be offered to Declan. I don't know why she felt she needed to do that when it was out in the open and had nothing to do with her. Its setting up the story but it didn't make a lot of sense. Even Declan didn't understand why his family paid.

She goes to Declan to try and sort the mess out between the two of them and he says he will forget everything if she submits to him for two weeks. He says she doesn't have to worry cos he isn't taking her virginity until after the big game and she is saying he isn't having her virginity then on the first night she is begging for it and he gives it willingly.

Declan gets hurt during his game and she is in the stands worried until his creepy ass uncle shows up and his highly inappropriate. Shane scares him away. I like Shane more in this book than i did his own. The way he talks about Avery, so sweet but in Shane's book it made it seem like Shane was the 'leader' if you will but this book made him seem like Declan's bodyguard or henchman.

After the game there are some real sweat getting to know each other moments. There's a bit were they share a bath that i really enjoyed. They go to a party and someone tries to kill her. Shane saves her again and everyone is pretty sure its his uncle.

His Grandfather tells him to end it and he does. Just sends her on her merry way which i didn't like. Declan finds out his uncle was having Cam checked to see if she was a virgin not for Declan but for himself. He planned on kidnapping her and her sister and gang raping them but Declan got to Cam first and Taylor hadn't been a virgin for years. His family are great!!

So he turns up at her tiny little room she has and he spends the night with her and she thinks its special but then he calls it an affair and she flips out. She tells him to leave and to stay away. Honestly i think it was good for Declan to have someone tell him no and stand up to him.

His Grandfather tells him he knows he is still seeing her and if he doesn't stop he is cut off. Declan says fine, he isn't giving her up which i liked. He should stand up for her. He tells his grandfather that he always taught him to stand up for himself and what he wanted so that's what he was doing.

So she gets kidnapped and honestly, didn't see who it was coming! So i actually gave an extra star for that reason. I like been surprised! So she nearly dies and he rescues her and he realises that he loves her. When she wakes up she wont see Declan. When she leaves hospital she still wont talk to him no matter how hard he tries and it takes Shane actually shouting at her to see sense.

She goes to see him and they talk and decide to give it a go which was really fast considering she refused to even speak to him the day before. No epilogue unless you subscribe! No!!

I like Declan he was by far the better character and i liked his friendship with Shane in this book.

I didn't really like Cam she was just annoying. She was described as been 5.6" which is the same height as me but he says her hands are as small as plums and he can fit his whole hand round her neck. There's no way. Also he is so big she can feel him in her stomach when they have sex. OK then!! Also someone gives him Guinness in a bottle and i'm pretty sure they have to be in a can and then poured in a glass. Never seen Guinness in a bottle and i'm from the UK. Might be a small thing but details matter!

Casanova is back but we still know nothing about him. We don't find out what happened to his uncle. There is some mistakes. He takes off the condom he never put on. Some of their conversations made no sense, i had to reread but still made no sense and neither of them ever attended a class!

It was OK and i think i enjoyed it more than the first but i go back and forth!!

I like Cami. She is an investigative reporter for the campus newspaper and is passionate about her work. He is put into a difficult situation though due to her family, so is forced to spend time with Declan, the campus football QB. I liked her gutsiness and banter, and she wasn’t afraid to call Declan out or let him know her thoughts. She also supports him and lets him get away with a few things, but isn’t afraid to hold him accountable when it comes to her family, her dreams, and eventually her heart.

Declan definitely likes control and dominion. He grew up with a silver spoon and doesn’t allow people to make him wait. I did think his initial treatment of Cami was a bit forceful and over the top, and I’m not saying he should have treated her more gently or a fragile flower, but he should have taken her as a person into consideration. He does treat her like a secret possession, and it takes certain things/events for him to realize his transgressions when it comes to her. Declan does show how much her cares and over the course of the book his character definitely goes through changes.

The pacing of the story was good but seemed to slow down at times. It focuses on the ups and downs of Declan and Cami’s relationship, which at first I wasn’t sure how it was going to work, but by the end it came to a satisfactory conclusion. The book also brings back some threads that started in Indecent Demands with Casanova and the Dark Knights. While there is a HEA for our couple, those threads remain unresolved and I look forward seeing what happens in Twisted Demands.

Dearest Declan

I read this book bc of the intrigue to find out who Casanova actually is. In this book it’s still unclear to say the least.

The FMC is Camryn who at first I liked. She was feisty yet forgiving to Declan and their “arrangement”. Declan is a blue blood so he speaks very proper English and is formal when need be. Yet he has a ferocious appetite for Camryn. This author has ticked me off twice now. Her stories have “meat” and as a reader you want an actual plot and to find out what’s happening and also the HEA. However, her delivery is flat. It’s quite awful. All this hype to not even have a proper ending. Camryn acts rude towards his grandfather in the epilogue- that you once again need to download- SO ANNOYING!!!!! And while he may have had reservations about her - with good reasons - she acts like SHE is the one holding the cards. I thought it was distasteful. Also the way he grovels for her after all he’s done for her (Declan) she couldn’t be more cold.
The last chapter was horrible as was the epilogue. Like what??? Idk big fat flop. It’s a 2.5 at best.

“Nothing compares to you.”

Declan Heyworth is an Heir and Quarterback. He has high expectations and a busy life. He also enjoys spanking and being in control.
Camrynn finds herself in a situation where Declan owns her for two weeks and she must do whatever he says. This includes taking her virginity.
I didn’t really like Camryn’s character and found her quite annoying at times. She’s on this high horse and while Declan is arrogant he did step up for her several times. She’s not greedy and mostly innocent. Even her waiting to say she loves him makes no sense after saving her life and proclaiming his love in public. Declan kept giving in to her which took away from his dominant personality.
The story seemed to lag. While there story is concluded we still don’t know who the Casanova serial killer is which will go into the next book.

I gave the first book 4 stars and really had high hope for this one.

It was a little bit confusing at first. I thought the dialogue was badly written. Some part were a bit cringy and I felt there's barely any plot. It was bland and nothing ever happened. Casanova was just making a cameo in this one. Which was bit disappointing. Nevertheless I'm looking forward for the next book.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

As a football superstar, he's worshiped on campus. As the heir to a famous billion-dollar fortune, he has unspeakable power. But when he tried to buy my silence in the past, I made it clear that I'm not for sale. This time, however, he's angry, and his leverage is absolute. This time, there is no way for me to refuse his demands. Now even when being with him could cost me everything. Including my life.

Cami is an investigative reporter at the university she attends. She loves what she does and is very passionate about it. Declan is the school star quarterback and has all the girls and guys at school worshiping the ground he walks on. He is also the heir to a billion-dollar fortune and has so much power that it isn't even funny. However Cami finds herself in a mess because her family is trying to extort his and he can't stand her, but at the same time is super attracted to her. It isn't long until these two strike a deal that could really benefit them both and they both understand that the agreement is exactly that and nothing more is going to come out of the agreement. Being a journalist and with the Casanova serial killer still looming in the background, she is in danger and he has to protect her. There is a lot going on in this book and I really loved everything about it. I loved watching Declan have to deal with the fact that he just might have a heart after all. Cami is one touch character that I really loved too. This book was really good and a great addition to this series.

Thanks to Booksprout for a copy of this book.

This was a wickedly angsty book with loads of misunderstanding, plot twists, and steaming sex scenes that will leave you breathless and wanting more. Declan and Camrynn's relationship is not at all conventional, but by the end of the book, the reader can easily see that these two definitely have a connection with sparks between them that could burn down a building.

I haven't read the first book in the series yet, but Declan's friendship with Shane in this book was enough to show me that these two young men would kill for each other, no questions asked. I can't imagine any kind of rift between Declan and Shane; there is no way anyone can keep the two best friends apart.

On the other hand, we don't have enough information about Camrynn's relationship with her sister Taylor. We know that they look a lot alike, enough that Declan mistakenly assumed Camrynn was Taylor, but we don't know how this relates to Camrynn's relationship with Taylor. Does she resent looking like her older sister? Does Taylor resent Camrynn for what happened that fateful day? Is that why Taylor did what she did? (Obviously, not giving any spoilers here). And what about their mother? What made her go through with her plan in the first place? Did she do it from a place of love, or was it something more sinister? Camrynn's family remains a mystery even by the end of the story.

I am really looking forward to reading the next standalone book in this series. The author has done a wonderful job at writing both suspense/action and romance.

I gave the first book in this series 4⭐️ and it's great to be back in this universe again, BUT:

The casanova-plot is good and there is a lot of funny and cute moments in this book. But I have to deduct a whole point because some of the dialogue is so cringeworthy I almost DNFed it many times! Also, from a book about a 🌶-slave, you'd think there would be more spice.

Some spoilers below:

Cami is a petit girl, which is fine. But when the author always describes who tiny and vulnerable she is, it's giving me the ick.
Her fist is as small as a plum??? And HIS hand is so big it wraps around to her neck?? How goddamn small is Cami??
The author also describes the spicy-scenes in a weird way. His 🍆 is so big it's tapping against her womb?? Tapping.Agains.Her.Womb. *shudders* I'm sorry, I just can't. It's giving major ailien/monster-vibe and I'm not here for it. It also makes me believe the author is a male and not a female writer.

And seriously, I have a problem with the whole beginning of the book. Who would sell their body for that? The mum and sister would lose the house? Okay, let them??? Lol, stay safe, y'all.

The chemistry between Cami&Dec is so good, so I'm very disappointed with the weirdness of it all. I hope Sørensen's book doesn't let me down! 🙏

Declan is the football star around campus with a kicker of being an heir to a billionaire dollar fortune, so to say he's arrogant is putting it mildly LOL! Camrynn is an investigative reporter for the college paper who is passionate about it. These two find themselves with issues when her family is doing something to his family, and now he's going to take it out on her despite the fact she's not her family. The problem becomes his attraction for her as they have serious chemistry, so he pretty much blackmails her into being his for a length of time, and now things get really dicey & sexy. I wasn't a big fan of our hero for a cool minute because of his questionable decision making, but there's no doubt when you get down to it, they're perfect for each other. On top of all this going on, there's still the serial killer on the loose that provided some twists coming in hot, and I'm dying to see how the situation with Casanova is going to play out. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series, so I CANNOT WAIT for the next book & HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Because of illegal and basically deceitful family interference, two young, college students become innocently involved in family revenge. Camrynn will be the virgin sacrifice, while Declan will reap the rewards. Will Camrynn be able to comply with the wealthy football heroes’ demands? Will Declan be able to rein in his desires in order to be gentle with her? Will she find pleasure along with the pain?

This is an exciting, intriguing, mysterious, erotically enticing story filled with a young woman’s desire to save her family from bankruptcy and a wealthy young alpha who feels entitled to own her. Will these two diverse personalities find a way to stay alive while they satisfy their needs and desires?

I highly recommend this extremely hot, erotically stimulating story that caught me from the very first page, and then never let me go. As I have come to learn, Marlee Wray is an excellent writer, and I cannot wait to read more of her work.

This is the second book in this intriguing series, and this is Declan and Cami’s story. Declan is the campus star quarterback, as well as being the heir to a billion-dollar fortune, while Cami is sassy and feisty, and is the university’s investigative journalist. Declan is furious when he finds out that his family is being extorted by Cami’s family, and they manage to strike a mutually beneficial deal between them. This is a well written story which is a dark college romance, with humor, witty banter, family, friendships, emotions, suspense, danger, intrigue, mystery, vengeance, and is a steamy and thrilling page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This book is told by 1st person point of view between Declan and Camrynn. This book has a little bit of everything in it has extortion, shady characters, plenty of sumt, and characters from previous books. I enjoy the growth of Declan in this book as well as Camrynn’s growth. This is a great love story. I will like to warn anyone before the read this book there is a lot of of spicy scenes. There’s also a few kinks in this book spanking, domination, and as well forced proximity. Overall I did enjoy reading this book and I do recommend it again please be aware there are a lot of spicy scenes if you are not comfortable with that please refrain from reading as the author worked hard to give a good story.

If the world is a prize, the wealthy, powerful Declan is used to having it handed to him as if it’s his by right. Granthorpe University’s star quarterback has decided that fellow student and investigative reporter Cami owes him and she agrees to a short-term relationship with him. What Declan expected to be a transitory physical affair turns into something much more complicated as he’s blindsided by deepening feelings for Cami. Add in a serial killer who is targeting campus women and you have an intriguing mix of plot and character development.

This is a very addictive dark college romance!! I was hooked until the very end and cannot wait for the next one. This is the second story in the "Dark Knights" series and it can be read as a stand alone read. However, the first one "Indecent Demands" is just as good. This one is about Declan and Cami. He is a star football player and worshipped on campus. Cami is a reporter on campus. They both come from different worlds that are about to collide. I loved the characters and how their story develops. Sparks fly between them and these two are combustible together. Throw in a serial killer and danger you get an incredible story!

Book 2 in the Dark Knights series was simply superb. The character development, first of all, was the best I have ever read from this author. Camryn is my favorite so far…she never wavered from her dreams or ethics but always told Declan exactly what she thought. Declan’s started off as an really unlikable character but definitely grew on me. The storyline had a really good mix of spice, plot and suspense to keep the reader engaged throughout the whole book. The next book features Erik, the Viking and I am so excited to read it!.

Felt like I was reading two different books

The flow of the story was off for nearly the entire book. The investigative journalist part of Cami’s character took over the last quarter of the book along with the character growth Declan experienced. Up until then it was nothing but spankings and sex between the two. It was a decent story with the Casanova & Secret Society side plots. I liked both Declan and Cami, but I feel the book showed Declan falling in love while it told us the Cami was falling as well. I did like the set up to the next book with Sorenson, the groundwork was laid out but will have to see about Arya.

Cami and Declan

Cami is a campus reporter, Declan is the university's football QB. He likes control and doesn’t like to wait for anything. She is feisty and strong.

So when Declan insists that Cami owes him, they come to an arrangement that neither of them expects more out of it. But surely won’t it work out that way. With a lot of happening around them, feelings come out eventually and the characters grow throughout the story and change slowly into better versions.

"Wicked Demands" is the second book in the Dark Knights series. I have read both and i found this second one better than the first.
A college centered story surrounded by a mysterious killer (which i guess will go through the whole series), which however can stand alone as far as the main characters are concerned.
I loved both characters, the banter, the steam and also the darkness and suspense.
I will definitely read the whole series and also more books from the author.

Was worth the wait

From the moment I finished Indecent Demands I started counting down the days to this book's release. I am obsessed with this Dark Knight Series and it seems to only be getting better.
This book has the perfect balance of action, angst, suspense and spice. By the end of the first chapter I was hooked and then I just couldnt put it down.
My only disappointment is having to wait until July to get the next book and to finally find out who Casanova is.
Already counting down the days!!
