Rate this book

A sweet and supernatural office romance! He’s invisible, and she’s blind. Can an invisible sleuth woo the woman he’s fallen for at his detective agency?

Yakou Shizuka, a quiet and bashful woman, works at a detective agency. Her boss Tounome owns the company and is the gentlemanly type–kind and dapper–though he also has an unusual trait: he’s invisible! This is perfect for detective work, but he quickly comes to find it doesn’t work on Yakou, who is blind and always knows if he’s near. Charmed, Tounome is determined to get her to date him and isn’t against using his many “skills.” Yakou’s quirky coworkers kindly watch over her as she stumbles and blushes through the uncharted waters of office romance.

OMG, fave new manga. I'm obsessed.

The art is done in a really different style from normal manga, with backgrounds done in a beautiful cerulean blue to help characters and focal points of scenes pop. And the artist is fantastic at clothing - Tounome's sexy suits and casual outfits vary really delightfully, and Yakou has some adorable looks herself.

I love the setup, various characters working in a detective agency. It allows for action and danger and interesting plots of the day, and Yakou's blindness is rarely a hindrance as she effectively handles administrative tasks for the others. There were so many little romantic moments between her and Tounome, I was squealing. Jarashi is a bobcat-human hybrid who is delightful as the muscle of the team, and Kikira is a stoic and blunt but surprisngly charming tech and research guy.

I can't speak to how well Yakou's blindness was handled, but it seemed well and sensitively done to me. She's portrayed as 98% capable on her own, with apps and all sorts of ways to complete her work. And the author mentioned interviewing lots of vision-impaired college students at the end, and how their surprisingly varied ways of going about life all contributed to Yakou's character model.

I loved this! Looking forward to more.

₊˚ʚ 🌱 ₊˚✧ ゚. I also read this manga yesterday and it was very wholesome.

It's a romance manga about an invisible man who owns a detective agency! He also is crushing on his cute blind co-worker, so the main plot revolves around their romance and how they start dating. You will also meet a lot of different characters, both human and creature-like. They live in a world where monsters, magical creatures, and humans co-exist so you'll see aliens, beasts-like humans, people with powers, and more, walking around and even coming into the agency to ask for their help! It's a cozy story for sure°˖✧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚✧˖°

I'm so sad the next volume doesn't come out until August omg? That's so far awaaaaay. Why do you do this to me, Seven Seas!!!! I just need them back asap.

So many manga I'm reading lately seem to be these super-gentle slice-of-life stories that are all warm-and-cozy atmosphere and barely-there plots. Here, an invisible man and a blind woman who work together at a detective agency start to fall for each other. There's no suspense in their relationship and their cases unravel in a mild manner with good outcomes.

Apparently, there is a genre in Japan called "Iyashikei" that encompasses these low-key, feel-good books and aims to instill calmness in the reader.

The opening chapters of this particular book are cute enough for a thumbs-up, and though I feel I may bore of the series in the long run I will give the next volume a try.

Cute art, I loved the unique pops of bright blue color throughout the standard black/white art style.

I’m coming to realize that the super light, super soft and lighthearted manga stories aren’t for me. I need some action/angst/drama! So not the fault of this story at all—but it was just fine for me.

Recommended for fans of cozy stories, low stakes, and slice-of-life soft romances!

I loved loved loved reading this!! Was exactly everything I hoped it would be and more!

Though a fun surprise was all the different races! I thought everyone would mainly be human, but right from the start, you realize that this world is made up of humans, beast folks, elves, aliens, and a bunch of other interesting races. It added a really great element to this story, especially with the detective work! (Can we please please PLEASEEEE see Dark Elf in volume two? I love him! LOL!)

I LOVE the relationship between our leads! It was SO cute seeing them slowly make their feelings known and gave me all the butterflies! Tounome is the utmost gentleman who is also dashing and charming, despite that we can't physically see his looks. And Yakou is such a sweet and beautiful heroine! I really loved seeing her personally be bold in small ways and how she was such a strong young woman. <3 The ending was a TOTAL cliffhanger though and already desperate for more of these two!!

I also super enjoyed their coworkers as well and love how they bring some humor to the story. It was also interesting knowing this is sort of a colored manga? I mean, I guess not really, but I was surprised to find the one blue color throughout the entire volume! Wondering if that will continue with each volume in the series?

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this if you're looking for a cute romance! Such a wonderful story that definitely exceeded my expectations!

This is really cute I like the couple dynamic I like the They made one of the main characters blind you don’t see a lot of disability and manga and I like how it was betrayed it showed that she could do things on her own and I like how the invisible Man you could see how being invisible can’t be vulnerable at times this is a really cute wholesome I like the artwork I think you’re a fan of romance you’ll like this one.

Tounome is a detective who can’t be seen, but he can be sensed. Especially by Yakou, an employee who is blind, but whose other senses are quite acute. They start getting closer and the title is very happy to spoil any hint of suspense.

This story’s okay, but it’s a real shrug of a book. Set in an alternate world where all sorts of fantasy creatures are around, it mostly centres on Yakou and Tounome’s burgeoning romance amidst the small office they run with two others.

It does get some very good mileage from its setting, but nowhere near enough. The creatures who all look the same except for minute differences giving their standards of a ‘detailed description’ for a missing person was quite clever. The dark elf and his wife prove very funny when some racial politics enter the fray.

Otherwise it’s… every story like this that you’ve ever seen. Yakou’s a very quiet woman, the mangaka did their research on how the blind operate so I do applaud them going that extra mile for a short little story like this. Tounome is capable, but easily flustered.

They actually get into his character quite a bit and a late-stage reveal is really rather compelling and shows how it’s not always easy being invisible. And it helps illustrate how her lack of sight makes Yakou the perfect person to appreciate his many talents. That whole section is the most romantic the story gets.

It’s just a little too sedate. Something about this just keeps it at a distance and I never felt like what I was reading was gripping me all that much. I’d describe this as harmless more than anything else.

I think it’s that this setting promises so much more than it actually gives. It seems like a good excuse to get a cat-girl in the mix and necessary for the premise, and it’s nice to not see a school around for a change, but I came out more contented than anything and slightly underwhelmed.

3 stars - I mean, it does get a bit more interesting towards the ending, but I don’t think I connected with this one anywhere near strong enough to come back for the next volume. It’s not like I don’t know where it’s going.

A positively charming male lead and an absolutely adorable female lead in an office romance, filled with fun supporting characters? I’m all in!

This was so adorable. I’m going to need so many volumes of this 👀

I also find the setting quite interesting, so many different people and creatures co-existing in harmony. I can’t wait to see who we meet next.

I'm so conflicted about this book. I absolutely LOVE the idea of it, but there's just something I just really don't like about it too.

The Premise is adorable. If you strip away all the setting and all the other characters, I absolutely love this. A blind girl working with an invisible man, and they slowly start to find the beauty in each other. He's invisible in every aspect of the word, doesn't stand out, and often ignored or forgotten about in his past, and she can't see anything... what a perfect couple. 'No one can see me' 'well I can't see anyone'. Genius idea.

I think the part that falls short and made it hard for me to get through was the other Fantasy-esque beings. Where as I don't think they needed to be stripped from the story, I feel like they offered nothing TO the story. When the cat girl pops up early on, my initial thought was "Oh great.... a furry". She had a personality of being that girl at work that is eager to help out our main character, but then I went "Why did she have to be a cat girl for that to happen?" I also was weirded out by the Yip Yip looking things later that they help too, and when the resolution for that happens I even though "What was the POINT of them?". I didn't mind the elves, because well the way they acted was how elves act, they are very stubborn, and the dark elf guy was kind of a rebel.... MADE sense. The cat girl and the Brick wall coworkers she had though, just felt weird... like if the cat girl acted more like a cat or had a few cat tendencies, then maybe it wouldn't have bothered me so much? I don't know. I just felt uncomfortable every time the cat girl showed up, because being around Furries at conventions, most of them are awkward and creepy. (There are some that are just fine, just my experience with running into them is not great).

The positives that I absolutely loved, was this was finally another book that addresses a group of people that are often never seen (Which is Ironic when they're the ones that can't see). I love seeing characters with disabilities and ailments that are not represented. I can truly appreciate this manga for taking that leap, and one of the main reasons TO like this book. Much like 'A Silent Voice' it gives you a look into the character for who they are and what they are dealing with, and submerses you into their world. My FAVORTIE chapter in this book was the one where they went on a date to the pitch black diner, where they eat dinner in total blackness, and she says to him "Welcome to my world". I really wish that chapter went on a little more, and that it didn't instantly turn into a past trauma for the guy, because it ended very quickly because of that. I would have liked to see him get more uneasy about his trauma after saying things like "so this is what it's like to be you, isn't it scary?" and then he could have fallen into his trauma. It would have opened the door to him understanding her, and her feelings and more of a "how do YOU overcome this, if this is your everyday?"

Another cool touch that I liked, but didn't understand if there was a reason for it, was the fact that the shading and color of the manga pages are BLUE. Backgrounds, and cells are all blue. It was definitely a more interesting approach to stand out for sure.

The book was good, really cute, and a GREAT IDEA. I might give it another book or two, but something is off for me and I think it's just the other characters not fitting the narrative for me. I'll give the premise and main characters 5 stars, but that other stuff dropped it to like a 2 for me, so about a 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 because I liked the premise that much.

A delightful romcom with some thoughtful moments, but the mood is very lighthearted and positive, slice-of-lifey with some fantasy elements. Yakou is a blind "human office worker" and the invisible Tounome is the "mild-mannered and dapper" owner of an agency and a detective. The girl who can't see and the man who can't be seen fall for each other and over the course of this volume their mutual attraction develops into something more, as the title suggests. It's really sweet how it all plays out. Yakou and Tounome are super cute together and you can't but root for them. I'd love to see more of the side characters like Jarashi, a beastwoman and the elf couple who run the Elf Bar. 4.5 stars.

The positive aspects of this manga have to do with the romance between Yakou and Tounome and the friendships with their coworkers. The negatives are anything to do with the detective agency where they work. I thought that was the weakest park of the story along with the lack of world building. Overall I think it's cute for the romance but nothing else grabbed me.

The artwork was really cute. The character designs drew me into picking up this book. The MC Yakou is blind, but is able to sense the invisible man love interest Tounome. The author states they interviewed blind students in order to write the character well.

I feel like there should have been more build up and tension leading up to them dating. It felt very sudden. We hadn't even figured out their dynamic or personalities before they went on a date. Also he is her boss and it's just weird that it doesn't come up as a concern. (Like I don't know how long she's been at the company for, but he asked her on a dinner date that she wasn't even sure was a dinner date and ordered food for them both which makes me side-eye big time.)
While a dapper dresser, Tounome doesn't offer much else in terms of personality. He's a hard worker and we get a tiny childhood story near the end, but I dunno anything else about his likes, dislikes, hobbies. A bit bland.

I would have loved to see more detailed stories about the detective agency as well. So far it just seems like a typical office environment.

An aside- the dark elf was very annoying. I genuinely don't know why they were included in this or why his wife is married to him smh.

I would be interested in continuing (that is if my library carries it). That being said, it will be for a light quick read and probably won't be a favorite.

This was really cute but I'm not sure what to make of it. They work together at a detective agency, and there are cases to solve, but they're really just background noise for their budding romance, which is rather sweet. I suppose I'm used to stories like these having some overarching story with the love story taking its time and being drawn out. But nope this is truly about them and the cute dates they go on and getting to really know each other which makes for random moments being told rather than some big story.

First off, I love the disability representation of blindness. The author did a superb job by interviewing visually impaired college students. This is research done right!

This story is just so wholesome. I love the cute little romantic moments between Yakou and Tounome. Based on what I read so far, I feel like this story is going to focus more on their relationship than the cases they get through the detective agency. Which is fine for me because I am here for it!

This is an absolutely adorable romance, with incredibly fun fantasy elements, combined with the setting of a detective agency’s office! Such an eclectic mix but it works so well as a unique slice-of-life.

I really like the emphasis on how they all (not just Yakou and Akira but the whole team) have different lived experiences. It leads to funny moments and also some really tender ones as we learn about them all. Yakou being blind is really fantastic representation and I love that she is the love interest here! She’s so sweet and I’m charmed by the way her expressions always seem to show on her face. The opposite of the invisible Akira, whose face is a mystery unless he explicitly states it.

I do wish some of these moments lasted a bit longer, but I don’t mind the quick pacing and shorter chapters. It’s a very engaging and cute read! I love how open and honest Yakou and Akira are with each other, because that is what their relationship needs to thrive. I didn’t want to put this down!
