3.5 insta jp goodness stars
I love reading safe sports books, and Fiona Davenport delivers 🥰.
Roan (32) got custody of his cousin’s two daughters, a 9-month old and 3.5-year old. His cousin was silently battling breast cancer and didn’t tell anyone ☹️. Roan steps up and takes custody. He understands he’s busy as the New York Nighthawks kicker when he’s in season, but he’ll get help from his two younger twin sisters. All’s going well until he finds out that his daughters’ aunt also wants to share custody of the girls.
Ava’s (20) brother is a scum bag/addict/abuser who shouldn’t have custody of his daughters, but she’s willing to help with them since the girls’ mother was her best friend and the girls are her nieces. She asks to see them and maybe negotiate custody terms so that she’s be the girls’ lives.
She visits the girls and once Roan sees how great she is with them AND that she’s NOT a gold digger trying to make a coin by being in his life, he becomes enthralled 😅 and he wants her.
What I liked/loved:
—how obsessed he becomes with Ava, and because he’s NOT a manwhore, I liked this a lot❤️. He sees the relationship she has with the girls and decides that she’s IT for him, which is pretty 🥹. He knows that whoever comes into his life NEEDS to accept his girls, and it’s PERFECT that Ava already loves them 🥰
—how protective he is 🥰, which is expected since he’s a father of two little girls, but he’s also protective of Ava ❤️
—the subtle way he bulldozes 😈. I mean, if I don’t have to work, why would I 😅
—the couple of 🔥 scenes. Their first one’s a SURPRISE v scene so 👀, I enjoyed it 😉. Plus, he enjoys drinking his breakfast 🔥
—the epilogue are super cute ❤️ because it showcases the breeding kink 😅
What I wanted more of/questioned: possible spoilers
—he calls her baby, kind of out of nowhere, without a buildup to it. At that point, we know he’s looking at her differently, but SHE doesn’t so… wouldn’t she side eye him a little?
—he has an engagement ring just chillin in his drawer like… 🤔 where did it come from? We weren’t told he went shopping for one… I was questioning that a looooot
—the girls’ dad drama was resolved too quickly and not exactly realistically. I get it- this is fiction- but…

—I know that this is Insta/short etc, but I needed more buildup. I didn’t necessarily take points away from that, but I still wanted more: maybe some close encounters where some fast-breathing got involved, or some more innocent touches that made some tummies flutter? Something 🤷🏻♀️

This is very fast pace and sweet with some tiny drama. If you need a quick read.

But he gets a call that the douche fathers sister wants to see his daughters and he’s already like nope thinking she’s the same but when he sees her and sees how the girls love being around there aunt he gives in doesn’t hurt her already wants her moved in lol.

It was the meh. Not great , not too boring. Punter on a football team gets two kids he's uncle to and then his brother in laws sister comes to visit the kids band they to get custody. Then he falls in love and they get married and have kida. Do I need to click the spoiler button?......🤔🤔🤔

I love Fiona Davenport's books so I don't know why it's taken me so long to start this series. But I can say that the saying "Better late than never" is definitely true.
Finding a safe sports read is like finding a unicorn in the wild. This had an alpha male who knew what he wanted and didn't hesitate to go after it.

I was surprised at how instant love this was. Like by two chapters in, we're suddenly babies, holding hands and all cute.
But I closed one eye and did not judge it too much; it's a short quick read.
The adorableness of the characters was cringe but SO DAMN CUTE. I want to squeeze them so badly. Of course, the focus was romance, so we didn't get many side characters other than the children.
I love the small add-ons of humour, and even if it was short, the piece scenes, though, were WOW.
I can't wait to read the others in the series!

Roan & Ava are definitely on my favorites list!! I love this sweet & fun single dad story! The kids are adorable and precocious, and there might be a character named Carrie, and I might always love seeing my name in a book! 😉

Roan and Ava’s story was a great addition to the series. They met when she arrives to see her nieces. Roan has custody of his cousin's daughters after she dies and expected Ava to be like her brother, the girl's dad. He went from being grumpy that Ava wanted to help with the kids, to a full on alpha male screaming “she’s mine!”

Weird but fun, classic Fiona Davenport's story.
He calls her baby before anything happen, not even clarifying that he likes her. She's also alright with him taking her to his bed to spoon, before any of them say anything about their feelings.

Wow I freaking loved this story 😍😍 Roan is the guardian for his cousins children. Sadly Carrie past away and now he's got the custody of Daisy and Cassidy. But one day the sister in law of Carrie wants to see the children too. Ava is finally able to afford a lawyer to fight for joined custody. But as soon as Ava and Roan meet their whole plans change😉 Roan just found the One and nothing and nobody can stop him from getting his woman and a new Mom for his children 🥰🥰🥰 Instalove, insta family, sweet, romantic, steamy and safe with an awesome HEA and no drama(teeny tiny bit bio dad drama😉)😍😍😍😍😍😍 can't wait for the next story in this series🥰🥰

This is book number 5 of The New York Nighthawks series and focuses on Roan and Ava. When Roan’s cousin asked him to be the guardian of her kids if anything were to happen to her, he definitely didn’t think that a few months later he would have custody of them. When she dies a few months later, he is there right away to take care of his girls. He dives into parenthood headfirst and without reservations. Ava had been heartbroken when her ex-sister-in-law and best friend died and her nieces were moved away. When she was finally able to save up to get a great lawyer, she went to work to try and get joint custody with Roan. Roan is annoyed by this fact until he sets eyes on Ava and knows that she is the one for him and that he is keeping her. I absolutely loved Roan and Ava together! They were exactly what the other needed and were able to create such a wonderful family dynamic together. This was an excellent story and an excellent addition to the series!

A pesar de que está ocupado como pateador de los New York Nighthawks cuando está en temporada, recibe ayuda de sus dos hermanas gemelas menores. Todo va bien hasta que descubre que la tía de sus hijas también quiere compartir la custodia de las niñas.
El hermano de Ava es un escoria, un adicto y abusador que no debería tener la custodia de sus hijas, pero ella está dispuesta a ayudar con ellas ya que la madre de las niñas era su mejor amiga y las niñas son sus sobrinas.

After his cousin passes Roan is left the care of her daughters since his family have a bad reputation and he ex was not someone you wanted to leave looking after a bowl of fruit let alone a child he became their guardian, when his adoption starts to go through he is agitated to discover his cousins ex has a sister and she wants joint custody of his girls. Aware this is probably a scam for money, even his lawyer is suspicious. He allows a visit but just to see how things are going to play out. When he opens the door to Ava, he knows he is wrong and that all their lives just changed. The Nighthawks have something in the water with love at first sight, and this is just another amazing book to add their series. It's Hot with an Alpha who knows just what he wants and the perfect girl for not only him but his girls too... Another brilliant peice of work by the dynamic duo we know as Fiona Davenport. Roan & Ava’s story is fun, flirty and full of sweet little girls. Roan becomes guardian of his cousins daughter after she passes away. He is getting into the groove of this whole parenting thing when he gets a call from his attorney. It turns out the girls Aunt Ava also wants custody of them.
What he didn’t expect was to get knocked on his a$$ when she comes to the door. She is everything he’s wanted but didn’t know he needed. Watching her with the girls cemented the idea in his mind. Ava is gonna be his.
There was definitely plenty of Fiona heat and chemistry to love and spice up your kindle as well. Can’t wait to see who is next to get their HEA.

This is such a cutesy romance. This is about Ava and roan who met each other through little babies Cassidy and daisy. The daughters were left to roan because of his cousin dying and Ava wanted to file custody or joint parenting with roan for Cassidy and daisy but what happen was Ava and roan eventually fell in love with each other. Overall I enjoyed this book, it was a quick/short read romance book. Highly recommend it! This is also part of the New York nighthawks series this is the book 5. I don’t normally read short stories but I needed a pallet cleanser. This was a super super quick read, with extreme instalove but it was sweet. Roan and Ava were good together but obviously because of how short these quick reads are we don’t get a lot of plot or character development to help the MMCs relationship. So for what it is, I liked it.
POV: Dual, 1st person.
SERIES or STANDALONE: 5th in series, can be read as a standalone.
TROPES: M/F adult, age gap (h is 20, H is 32), sports (NFL), single dad romance.

My favourite so far in the series
The 5th in the series, Looking To Score follows Nighthawk player and single father Roan as he navigates guardianship of his late cousin's children. When Ava, his cousin's best friend (and aunt to the children) arrives on the scene he's initially suspicious. Until he meets her face to face and falls hard and fast.
Though there is less football in this book, it's my favourite. I LOVED Cassidy, and the relationships between Ava, Roan and the children is SO pure. I also enjoyed the little Prentice cameos.
