Her Dad's Friend

Rate this book
He was my dad's best friend—and my first crush.

Falling for him was bad. Flirting with him and trying to get in his pants the night of my 21st birthday party was definitely worse.
But can you blame me? I hadn't seen the guy in years and he comes back looking hotter than ever.
Our fling shouldn't have even begun but now that it has, I don't want it to stop. I'm crazy for this guy—and he's obsessed with me.
Too bad my father will kill him if he finds out.
So we can't tell him. We just have to keep it secret. Right?
That might have worked... until he got me pregnant.
How can we keep what we've done a secret?
And what if he doesn't want us to?

I've been looking for a hot taboo book for awhile, so I was really excited about this one when I came across it on KU. Unfortunately, though, it fell short for me and wasn't exactly what I had wanted. Was it taboo? Sure. But it didn't keep my interest very well and I found myself skimming some.

Basically the story is Rachel who wants Paul, her dad's best friend. Not much else to it, which is okay! Don't get me wrong, I had no problem with the plot. It was more the story as a whole that I had issues with. I felt like there wasn't enough depth to the characters to keep it interesting. Honestly I just felt like everything was very anticlimactic and I kept looking for more to come from the book.

It was this weird combination of no information and too much information. If it was pure smut I wouldn't have minded. But instead we're told facts about the characters and their lives that weren't followed up, leaving me wanting to know more. At the very very end we did get a few answers that I had been wondering about, like the characters' actual age, but by then it was too late.

Overall, I think anyone that likes a fast and dirty story will enjoy this and I still recommend it for anyone looking for a taboo, smutty story.

I am a total cock gobbler for Father's friend / age difference books and, with this being both of those, I swear if I had a penis I would have jizzed in my pants just from the description.

Oopsie. Anyway, clearly I enjoyed it (and let's add a quick hooray because there were NO hymens in this)

OMG! This book was hot! I loved it! Rachel is a 21 year old woman who has always had the hots for her dad's best friend Paul. She wants him like she has wanted no other. During a night of drinking a dirty text is sent and Rachel doesn't know what is going to happen to her relationship with Paul. This book is seriously sexy and smoking hot. Paul is the perfect blend of sexy and kinky and completely loveable! I devoured this book in one sitting, I couldn't get enough! Now excuse me I have to go change my panties, lol!

Dirty, Sexy, smutty little quickie read, it could have used a bit more story buildup, but the lustful sex between the two main Characters, Paul and Rachel, made up for it, and it was a freebie, so it’s a win, win, with a HFN

This was a fun little smutty read. Raechel has wanted her dads best friend for years. He's secretly wanted her since she was about 18. He fought his feelings to the point of moving across the state and trying to forget about her. A drunken text brings them back together and it's explosive. Wish the epilogue had been a little further into the future. I would've liked more of Paul's POV as well. But a cute quick read.

Very quick and pretty decent read. Predictable plot.

Older man? What's not to love.

Great fuck like a rabbit. Why not?

My favorite scene is when they bought sex toys and try them all. Whoah! Everything was so agreeable and fast paced. I didn't feel any emotion beside lust and love. However, the ending was too soft and fairy tale. Over-the-top kind of romance. No love no hate. This is a kind of a book for short escape from shitty reality ;)

This booked started out with so much promised, a great start to a short plot that was hot and had touches of humor that made me want to give it five stars. But the back end of the story became slightly unbelievable and way too predictable for me to over look. I think that changes to certain things without extending the length and this short would have rocked. But as it was it felt rushed and not in length, but... I can't explain without spoilers. The writing went flat and certain plot elements just killed the story.

Yes this heroine was a whore. She says she is in love with the hero but she is about to have sex with a guy she just met but they get interrupted by the hero. Not my idea of a heroine. Author to avoid for sure. Not safe!

The first few chapters were okay and I'm glad it got better. Because of my personal preference, I didn't like some parts of the story. See safety.

The story is about Paul and Rachael.

Paul and Rachael's dad are best friends. She wants him so bad and he's falling hard for her. She was 18 at the time. He thought he can't have her so he sold his company and moved away.

The night before her 21st birthday, she was drunk and sent a text message to him (she typed the message but her best friend, Emily hit the send.)

She had a surprise birthday party at her parents' house. Paul was there and they were flirting with each other. He drove her back to her place and things got a little complicated after that.

There's no epilogue. But I considered the last chapter the epilogue because it was a few months after with a proposal and a baby on the way. But I want to know more about their future.

This story was smokin! Penny Wylder is an author to watch out for. I like that she took a slightly taboo story and wrote it maturely. For a short read, it's not just all about the sex, you actually get a relationship and the younger girl didn't act like a total ditz. I loved it and will read more from this author.

Hello Silver Fox!

When I saw that this was a silver fox story I immediately thought of Alessandro Koln - please do yourself a favor and google him right now. You will not be sorry.

So Her Dad's Friend is short (about a 30 min read with no interruptions) that will have you giggling, panting and smiling like a fool. Sure, you will need to suspend belief for a bit but shit this book is good. You wont get any life lessons or huge revelations in this book - it isn't deep and it wont destroy your soul, but I will tell you what it will do: it will have you giggling at Rachel's sense of humor, it will have you panting and sweating at Paul's sexy-ness and it will have you stupid smiling at the crazy cute ending. A few quotes for example:

Paul chuckles and the deep rumble of it touches me in a place not even my favorite dildo manages to reach.

Jesus, he's big. Bigger than I'd imagined. How the fuck is he still single? This isn't the type of fish one throws back. This sucker is the one you get stuffed and mounted on the wall to show off and brag about to your friends.

Appropriate to read at work? Probably not, Kayley but I did it anyways and I have no regrets! Penny Wylder has a life long fan :)

On to the next!

It was quick, it was dirty, it was full of hot, sexy scenes. In short, it was everything I expected it to be with the added bonus of a snarky FMC. It was a tad predictable plot-wise, but you know that going in with a book like this. Low on angst and high on sexy times, I enjoyed it right up to the last chapter. The entire book is written in the FMC's POV until the very end when we suddenly shift to Paul. This would have been a solid four star read for me if this had never happened. Between the unflattering descriptions he uses for her vagina and the "cream pie" scene, Paul went from sexy silver fox to dirty old man in just a few pages of text. It didn't even sound like the same author wrote it--it was that far removed from the rest of the book. What a shame...

Hot taboo love story that was done very well. Heroine is 21 and hero is pushing 40. (If he is the same age as her parents, he is about 38).

Paul moves away when he realizes he is having feeling for Rachel when she is 18. He doesn't want to ruin his friendship with her father so he sells is home and business and moves across the state.

After a night of drinking, Rachel sends a "drunk text" telling him she wants him. She is disappointed because she doesn't hear back from him right away. A surprise birthday party brings more than one surprise into her life.

-hot silver fox alpha
-young, but mature heroine
-both are experienced sexually but their past sexual history isn't down your throat
-hot sex scenes
-no ow drama
-slight pushing away from hero (maybe 2 days)
-om
-disappointing epilogue

This was a witty, light and smutty story about a 21 year-old who has had a long-time crush on her dad's bestie. Dad's bestie is a silver fox and something of a forbidden secret lust.

It was a short read and quite deliciously filthy so I was all in. It didn't feel quite as taboo as I was hoping but it was a hot and enjoyable read. The banter was really funny, got me chuckling away anyway.

Complete story, standalone and available on ku. Recommended.

So here is the thing. I have a slight kink for younger girl, older guy – especially if that older friend has family ties. So when I saw a very dirty quote on FB, I laughed, shared it and then one-clicked.

Rachel has always had a crush on her dad’s best friend Paul, but a drunken text makes the next day as she is forced to face him at her 21st birthday party. A little flirting leads to a little bit more and then a whole lot more.

I went into this with no expectations, other than it needed to be hot. It was hot (although sometimes I wish that authors used greater care when describing certain aspects of sex), and it had more story that I expected.

Overall it was a hot read that led to fun online searches.

Not bad, especially if one likes their romances light and uncomplicated. The premise, snarky humor in the beginning, and main characters all appealed to me.

However, because this is a taboo romance I was expecting something smuttier and way more intense. I felt the conflicts surrounding Paul and Rachael were too easily resolved considering the forbidden nature of their relationship:

I still enjoyed this, but it wasn't as compelling as it could have been.

2.5 Smut-scale Stars

*this rating is for the genre… smut novella… *

Decent smut novella with an age gap, not daddy kink. There’re some cringey moments and the last scene… I could have done without.

Bottom Line- Just Ok for me, it’s 100 pages I pushed through but wasn’t riveted. It takes a while to get going.... to the smut. If you’re interested in a plot or feels keep looking.

This book kinda confused me. I was expecting hot smutty stuff but instead i got a whole load of bla bla bla feelings "i'm soooooooo in loooove with my dad's bestie like forevah". So okay, i get it that she's been crushing on her dad's hot silver fox (haha! I love that term!) bestie. And there i was rubbing my hands in glee thinking oooh...this is gonna be fun n dirty.

Unfortunately there's nothing much to make whatz-her-name a likeable character to me. Call it being young and immature maybe borderline naive.....but having unprotected sex repeatedly with a virile albeit older man will eventually lead to the inevitable. Hmmm.....*eye roll*. And the guy, Paul is a typical ideal older guy boyfriend type - rich, established, indulging....oh also still hunky and tattooed (ok....that got my attention). And her parents? I just thought it was a bit off. Mom comes across as a bit flaky and dad seems to have some strong bromance feelings on his bestie Paul.

And ok read. Cute, sweet and light. Maybe i'm just used to something more hardcore.

It was a quick read romance with a taboo element. Falling in love with your Dad's friend can bring you into trouble. Will she risk it to be with a man whom she had a crush on since she was a little younger? This is a good book if you're looking for something quick and easy to read this is a must-read for you!

I was hoping this one would be wayyyy more forbidden than it was. There wasn't really any shock value with this one, their relationship was pretty well accepted. No drama. And the blurb gives a pretty straightforward preview of what's to come.

This story was fun, sexy, and intriguing at times but I didn't feel like it all came together for me. If you've read the blurb you know what to expect, nothing else really happens. They go to a sex shop at one point and that ends up yielding some hot sex. But, the whole idea of this book being a young girl with an older forbidden guy never really pans out. No one really seems to care that they're together which makes the taboo implication moot. There was this awkward scene at the end when the couple has this very sweet romantic moment followed by an awkward cream pie. It was so odd to me.

Unfortunately, this one didn't work for me. There were a few good moments but overall I was left sort of confused and wanting.

OH MY HOT! Penny Wylder where have you been?

Her dad's friend is a flirty, filthy, forbidden, fantasy that oozes chemistry and heat, delivered in a sexy, sinful package.

Rachael & Paul are literally ON FIRE! Penny executes this book perfectly, the story flows, the connection runs deep, the chemistry is super hot and I don't even have words to describe the naughty scenes.....#ColdShower.

I honestly would have LOVED to read this as a full length novel, I'm not saying that the story wasn't told well enough here but I actually didn't want it to end.. I really, really enjoyed it. I loved that there was no big drama that pulled them apart and that it all just fell into place beautifully and so intensely. From beginning to end, I was sucked into the whirlwind of burning chemistry, instalove and kindle melting sex.

Penny, for sure, will be up there with Alexa Riley for these quickies. It was, in my opinion just as good, if not better!

Her dad's friend is a delicious, dirty fix. Its PERFECT if you want a quick, satisfying read to push all your buttons and stoke your fire! 4 filthy, forbidden fantasy stars!

I rated this for the smutty goodness it was, there was a story but lets be honest its not meant to be art. Its porn with a story and this one was good. It had a bit of a taboo subject and if you are not into big age gaps give this a miss, its a large gap of 20+ yrs.

The h is really funny and I enjoyed all her little one liners in her inner dialogue. I find books like these are great to read in between heavy reads, like a pallet cleanser when you are having a multi course dinner. It clears the mind fog and lets you start all over again.
