The Christmas Kilt
One kilt, two people meant to be together, and a dozen complications equal a Christmas fiasco in the making.
No matter how Santa Claus tries to crunch the numbers, he can’t make them add up to equal a love match between museum curators Jack Lantz and Kirsten Nichols. I love Caroline Mickelson’s Christmas cozies. This is the third one I’ve read and I enjoyed the first two so much I bought her entire collection for myself for Christmas. “The Christmas Kilt” was a wonderful addition to the world where Santa Claus and his family and elves and reindeer keep things at the North Pole running smoothly. Two lonely adults have each written Santa a letter, requesting an ancient Scottish kilt that is a relic from a battle. Both are museum curators and both have personal reasons that mean they’ll stop at nothing to get the kilt. And little do they know, Santa will stop at nothing to nudge them together and make this a match. Some hilarious scenes, lots of ho ho ho and touches of Scotland as Jack and Kiersten search for the “missing” kilt. This was a Christmas treat!

This book was so cute! I loved Jack and Kirsten, they made a sweet couple. I also love Rapz and am happy that he will have his own love story.

This was an awesome book that I really enjoyed. The story and characters grabbed me from the beginning and I couldn't stop reading. I loved the characters and watching them grow together, they were well written and went well together. I found this book amazing with great word building making me feel apart of the story and watching it unfold in front of me. A definite must read for any fan and I can't wait to read more from this author!!!

Another Delightful Book in Holiday Romance Series
Until I started reading this book, I hadn't realized that it was by the same author, and in fact, part of the same series as a story that I just loved, Mrs. Saint Nick. In fact, we see the featured couple from that book briefly in this one. This is a charming little holiday love story that is a smooth, delightful read. The hero and heroine, both museum curators, want to acquire a particular historical kilt for their museums. They had both written a letter to Santa asking for this kilt for Christmas and also to find their other halves. While some at the North Pole may think that this is a job better suited for Cupid, Santa says it is their domain because the letter was sent to him.
It turned out both also wanted the kilt for personal reasons as well, her because she hopes it will help her a promotion that will allow her to help assist her sister to provide better for her niece and nephew after the death of her brother-in-law and him as a way of paying homage to a relative. As they try to get the issue of the kilt sorted out, they develop a growing attraction, and it is clear to the reader that they would make a wonderful couple.
Again, this is just a delightful, slightly quirky holiday romance. I like this series, where Santa and the North Pole are so real, worrying about modern business practices even, while still being magical (adults writing to Santa?). It's just a lot of fun.

This was a sweet, cozy, refreshing Christmas themed novella by Caroline Mickelson. I found the main characters to be wonderfully paired and the supporting folks were a wonderful delight.
The issue between Jack & Kristen, the curators, at the outset of the book, gradually morphed to a completely one by the end. They each had personal reasons for finding the kilt, and they both centered around family! Jack was trying to convey just how important his foster father was to him, how much he loved him. Kristen wanted to provide a bit of normalcy and stability for her niece & nephew following the trajic loss of their father.
The pair quickly grew close as they searched for the kilt, and then wondered at their surroundings. With the growing attraction, they also understood the other's desire for the kilt
With the help of a jolly fat man, a contancerous 'junk' store owner, a pampered pooch, and a handful of North Pole helpers, will these two discover that the real treasure they were searching for was much more valuable than a historical kilt?

Jack and Kirsten want the same thing and will not stop until they get it. They both wrote a letter to Santa Clause telling him that each one of them needed to find a certain thing plus they wanted to meet their other half and fall in love.
Jack wanted the kilt for his foster dad to see before he passed away. Kirsten worked for a museum and if she can get a hold of the kilt then she would get a raise. Her sisters kids had just lost their father and Kristen wanted to make sure they could stay in the school they were in. It was expensive and her sister did not have the extra money for it so she was going to pay for it from her raise.
Will Santa help Jack and Kirsten find what they are looking for or will they fail?

Jack works at a museum in Texas. Growing up with a foster dad, he wanted to show him just how much he cared. To do that, he wants to but a special kilt. Kristen works for a museum in London and she wants the kilt to get a promotion to help her sister with her family. Both had written Santa to Santa asking hi to find their other half.
This is a delightful, cozy romance set in Scotland and Christmas Central. The characters are likeable and genuine, making you want them to find happiness. After a series of twists and turns and with Santa’s plan perhaps things may go right after all. This is great holiday tale that leaves you feeling positive. It is everything a contemporary cozy Christmas book should have, love, family, selflessness, and caring, oh and the humour of course.

THE CHRISTMAS KILT is the eighth book in the Christmas Central series. While each one stands on its own, I have loved every one that I have read and recommend them all.
This is a perfect, light, and sweet Christmas romance. It has a bit of humor and a couple of cute little twists to keep you – and the characters – on your toes.
I can’t wait for the next book. Rapz is finally going to going to find his girl. He deserves her!

This one is actually a 3.5, but they don't allow us to give half stars. I really liked this story. The writing was great. The characters were fun and likeable. I loved the magic of Christmas. My only issue is that I wanted more. This was a long novella/short novel, and I think it would have benefited a lot by being another hundred pages long. The parts at the North Pole were well done and fun, but there was no build up to that point. We were told the two MCs fell in love, but we weren't shown them falling in love. I would have liked a little more meat--a little more interaction--and a lot more scenes from while they were falling in love. That's why I had to give the story a 3.5 and not a 4, even though I really enjoyed it.

-Fun short read, great for ages 12 to 99! Clean, funny, and full of magic - real or not.
-This is the first book I read from the series (I have 5 other ones in my possession) and I wasn't lost with all the secondary characters that were present; there are many of them but you are not confused because each of them have their own quirks and attributes. I love the play on the names too.
-Jack and Kirsten travel, work, search, eat together and have a change of mind on their priorities while they fall for each other.

This book is just hilarious, and gets more outrageous as the story goes on. Jack and Kirsten write letters to Santa, asking for a specific kilt that has historical significance, and to meet and fall in love with their "other half". All the Christmas presents are ready to go, but Santa's not sure just what to do with these requests - two letters, one kilt. A trip to Scotland, some time to get to know each other, and a little North Pole magic take care of the situation. This was such an easy book to read, grabbing me on the first page. The characters were wonderful, if a bit devious at times.

This was another delightful romantic comedy story in the Christmas Central series. It had me chuckling at times and gave me hope for the future if we would only believe in the magic of Christmas. This time Santa tries to grant two people their Christmas wish. And of course, Rapz finds himself in a little trouble as usual. This series is so much fun to read and I sure hope this won’t be the last. Wonderful job Caroline Michelson for making Christmas, Santa and the North Pole a happy place for us to spend some time.

Two museum curators are in hot pursuit of a antique kilt. Jack, from the United States, and Kirsten, from England, are both headed to Scotland, where they collide with each other in their quest. At first, they are in an unfriendly competition, but, with more than a little interference from Santa, they gradually get acquainted with each other. Friendliness eventually leads to kindness to, well, I’m sure you get the picture. It’s a quick and fun read, with equally fun characters, perfect for some Christmas cheer.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a quick, easy, and fun read. I liked the characters and the story line. I liked the interaction between all the characters. I loved that there was a little Christmas magic too. I am sure others would enjoy this novella as well. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Christmas romance reads.

Book eight in the A Christmas Central Romantic Comedy series a well written story that had me laughing as I read. Santa is playing matchmaker between museum curators Jack Lantz and Kirsten Nichols. Add in one McLeod kilt a kilt worn at the Battle of Culloden over two centuries ago, and you have the making of a fun book to read. I wonder if we will read more about Rapz and Merrilynn. This was a whimsical Christmas romance novella. Jack and Kirsten are both in search of an antique kilt. Both want it for different reasons, but neither one wants to be the one to give it up. As these two work closely together to locate the kilt, they get to know each other, realizing that they may have found their other half in each other. Very cute, sweet, little romance.

This is the 3rd book I've read written by Caroline Mickelson; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Jack and Kirsten both worked at museums. Both of them were searching for an elusive kilt from the Battle of Culloden. Both of them wrote a letter to Santa which led him to the conclusion that they were fated soul mates that needed help being brought together by the inhabitants of the North Pole. Santa is playing matchmaker once again and throwing Kirsten & Jack together.
Although the story was a bit longer than the last 2 novellas I read in this series, I had the feeling that it was rushed much more. It definitely wouldn't have harmed to go into more depth with some of the scenes.
The twist with the kilt at the end was almost making my heart stop, even after I saw it coming...

When Santa recieved letters from a man and a woman both looking for a rare kilt and their true mate, he hatches a plan to bring the couple together. A lovely holiday romance. This is a well written book with a sweet Christmas theme. The characters are strong,well developed and the story moves quickly and smoothly. I enjoyed the characters and their bantering as well as watching them come together. Another great book to the series.

A funny and entertaining romantic read with a Christmas theme. The characters are great and fun to get to know and the story line is well written and descriptive. The story moves along well and holds your attention. Definitely recommend.

Brit Kirsten and American Jack both write letters to Santa for a very rare kilt. The way Santa answers their wishes is a cute quirky and imaginative story. This is a quick fun read with wonderful chart that let you escape to the North Pole.

If you want a book that will have you laughing out loud and leave you giggling and smiling like a Cheshire Cat then this is the book for you.
The chemistry is electric and the banter is witty and flows naturally and once you add in the secondary characters you get the perfect rom com.

This sweet story was the perfect light romantic comedy fantasy for this busy season. Each character had their own quality that drew me to them. I am going to have to read other Christmas Central novellas to get to know them better.
