'TARNISHED CROWN' is the second full length book in Caitlyn Dare's 'Gravestone Elite' series. It picks up where the previous book (Shattered Legacy) left off. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'

This by far surpassed my expectations, and admittedly I enjoyed this one more than the previous book, so many unanswered questions come to light with so many more still awaiting to be uncovered.
I inhaled this, couldn’t put it down, more angst, more suspense made for a high octane kind of read. This series just gets better, I’ll even forgive the author for throwing me over yet another cliffy. Now that waiting game starts for the next book.
After the way things left off in 'Shattered Legacy' we knew these two would have a rough road ahead of them especially when Bexley realises what exactly went down.
We watch as Mia and Bexley race against the clock to unravel all the mysteries surrounding the Gravestone Elite, placing themselves in danger as they learn that the secrets delve deeper than either of them suspected.
Their all pawns in a deadly game of power.
If you’ve not read this series yet definitely do so,
I guarantee you won’t regret it 💋

I really wish authors would stop with these pointless trilogies. 🙄 Almost every single one could have been 1 long book and been the better for it. 🤷🏼♀️ Like usual, I am wholly unimpressed with book 2. I mean I read it like it was my job, don't get me wrong 😅, but we could have cut out 70% of it and still been fine.
What I liked (tolerated):
- I was kinda eyeing Cade, the very evil twisted villain, as a switcheroo anti-hero. 👀 At least he knows how to get sh*t done and has some follow-through. 👀
- yeah, I got nothing. 😐
What I didn't like:
- the h, Mia is all over the place - she's strong, "I'm gonna save myself" warrior kickass girl one second 🙄, and the next she's all helpless and whiney and wishy-washy - she pushes Bexley away and pulls him in over and over - I was really annoyed that she KNOWS Bexley was drugged and basically raped in the last book, but still is mad at him about it. 😒 *sigh*
- the H, Bexley, talks a big game. 😐 He's got tons of swagger and "MINE! MINE! MINE!" vibes, but does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to back it up. 🤬 I mean he's got that clenched jaw thing down to an art form 👌🏻, and boy am I sucker for a good j/p jaw clench 😍, but #jebusmaryandjoseph, DO SOMETHING MAN! ARRRRGH!🤬 I'm not even sure I'd really call Bexley a “Hero” in this book. He does nothing at all even remotely heroic. 🤷🏼♀️ #wompwomp
- all the secondary characters are just reprehensible. From every single "friend" of Mia's and Bexley's to the parents of all the kids. Not a single person lifted a finger to help Mia. They had months in advance to do something to stop The Very Bad Thing, and absolutely NO ONE did anything at all. 🤬🤯 Not her parents, not her boyfriend, not Any One. They all just shrugged "it is what it is" and sent her off to a sadistic monster. 🙋🏽♂️🙋🏼🙋🏼♀️ "Good luck with that, Mia!" 😘🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
- Alex, Bexley's best friend, who was a breath of fresh air in book 1, just turned into the worst possible "side kick". What a waste of space. 🤬
- this book is filled with scene after scene of the same thing over and over again. Helpless MCs, gratuitous violence, public forced sex, and druggings... 😵💫 Friends, sometimes less is more.
Bottom Line? This was an unnecessary miserable book. Not a single character was likeable and I was just ready for it to end so that I could see how the author was gonna tie this series up with a bow. 2-stars.

Prepare yourself!
I went in this book 2 simply expecting to learn more of this incredible secret society plot laced with forbidden love, but I came out complete struck! I am at a loss as to writing this review because I was so shaken by this story, so enamored with the intricate, engrossing plot; medley of characters whose motivations were not readily apparent; and unexpected, explosive ending. I'm not OK. I was not prepared to be enraptured this way. The more the storyline pealed away, the more heart-pounding it became.
A continuation from book 1 in which Mia is pledged to Cade yet in love with Bexley, but there is more to this story than a mere semblance of a love triangle. There are forces at play -- power struggles, debauchery, and treachery that elevate this interplay to more than simply a love story, and instead a captivating suspense thriller.
Perhaps mildly dark by my standards, I didn't find the story dark, but others may. It certainly contained dark themes, and was much more adult than these authors' first six-book series situated in high school. It was set in college, and even included older adults (thank you) in the mix. Character development was exceptional; not only from a variety standpoint -- old money and society ties, patriarchal, Stepford wives, young adults on the cusp of greatness, characters with privileged ties and those on the outside looking in. There were characters one would be suspicious of, hate even, and love to see realize their happiness. Friendships were tested. The initial sweet Mia evolves into a strong and determined heroine, and Bexley, reverting to behaviors of his past as he is coerced into dark measures to protect Mia and his friends.
Steam level was unholy, particularly wrapped into stolen love and constantly under scrutiny. Setting was vivid, gothic, ceremonial. Pace was excellent; I arrived at the end without realizing it, screaming in fact that it couldn't be over. One of the better books I've read this year, impressive. Book hangover commences until I can get a refill in this series' conclusion. Epic read.

FIVE TARNISHED STARS for Mia and Bexley 🧡🖤🧡🖤!!!

OMG!!!
Again I was left speechless which could mean how amazing the book was and I look forward to the last book of this trilogy.
The authors wrote an intriguing and interesting sequel that captured my attention from the beginning until the very end when the cliffhanger completely broke my heart.
"Tarnished Crown" is a dark college bully romance with a secret society trope, which you won’t be able to stop reading until the very end, and then you’ll look forward to the next book in this trilogy.
Mia and Bexley's relationship and through this book she experiences numerous difficulties and encounters obstacles, while they can only have happy moments for a short time.
Honestly, I don’t know if their relationship will get its happy ending especially after that kind of cliffhanger, but I cross my fingers that everything will turn out somehow and that theirs will eventually get their HEA.
If you're looking for a dark college bully romance and you also love "Shattered Legacy", then this is the book you need to read next!!!

Holy Shit!!! What an insane ride was that!!!
Yep, I loved the first book in the series, but the second book was even better and I'm dying to get the last book on my hands.
This story is full of mystery, hidden secrets, lust and dark intentions.
Everyone is a pawn in here and where this dirty game will lead our heroes???
OMG!!! Bexley and Mia are running out of time and what will happen in the end???
"We're all pawns in Kingsley's game of life, right?"
The book picked up exactly where the previous book left us and things are starting to get even more complicated for Bexley and Mia. They just have to let go and go with the flow.
He is one of the Electi now and she is another's prosapia. So these two are never meant to be something. They just have to bury their feelings and go on with their lives.
But can their hearts shut out the strong feelings that are feeling toward each other??? Or are they bound to end up on loss and heartache???
"You're mine, Mia. No matter what."
Unfortunately, I can't say more about this story, but I can assure you that the second part became more intense, more mysterious, more of everything.
Our heroes are running out of time and if they want to survive they have to play the game, while they are trying to find answers. But are time and luck by their side or destruction will find them either way???

"Maybe I like the burn."
I loved Bexley and Mia even more than before.
Both of them are very strong and they can do anything, but they had a mutual weakness. Each other. And that could be against them!!!
My heart was breaking while I was witnessing their struggles and their heartbreak. It was unfair what was happening to them!!!
And after the cliffy here, honestly, I don't know what to think!!! I believe that they are ruined beyond repair and how are they going to survive???
"I want to fight. I want to find a way out of this mess. But what if she's right... What if there is no way out? What then?"
Honestly, I can not wait for the last part cause I need something good.
I want to see Cade to pay for his sins, not only to Bex and Mia, but to everyone around him. I really hate that guy and his god complex. I desperately need salvation!!!
If you haven't pick up these books, you don't know what you're missing. I devoured them in one go!!!

Plot Summary :
Mia's whole life seems hollow now. After the betrayal of the one boy she had grown to love there is no light for her now. She can only accept and go through what has been decided for her and she does not have it in her to fight anymore.
Bex has been tricked. He knows things are wrong yet he can't tell why. He knew that these people were not trusted and yet he played right into their hands. He wanted to save Mia and in the end he became the one thing which broke her beyond repair. And now it was his turn to feel the pain, because these people , they were not done with them yet.
Overall Opinion :
After that disastrous ending of book 1 , I have been chewing my nails and waiting crazily for this one! The author sure did not disappoint me. I has a shit ton of theories for this series and am glad to get a few answers.
Although the ending of this one was as Brutal as that of the last one and I am back to square one with me being crazy excited for the next read!
Bex and Mia are amazing. They have a lot of troubles to face with so many people being hell bent on keeping them apart but there is no way they are going down without a fight.
A must read for all the enemies to lover romance trope addicts out there!

Tarnished Crown can only be characterised as captivating, twisted, and depraved!
It follows Bexley's and Mia's story after the cliffhanger from Shattered Legacy! Hurt from Bexley's "betrayal", Mia makes it her aim to get her life back from Cade. But her love and lust for Bexley is very strong to keep her away, resulting in her risking her plans again and again whenever she is close to him. Everything in this second installment of the Gravestone series points to the fact that there is no way out really from what is supposed to happen! But even so, i can't help not pining for Mia and Bexley!
Caitlyn Dare provided us readers with a magnificent story from a world so different to ours. College years but not your average college experience. Picture secret societies, arranged marriages, rites of passages, initiation tests, and everything else you can think of. I loved how different this book is to anything i have ever read. It kept me at the edge of my seat throughout the ride with all the suspense and all the theories that i can't help but have for every main or secondary character, the secret society, and how the story will develop.
I thought reading the 2nd book would help me get some answers. Nope! Now i have many new questions and theories of how the story will pan out in the third and final book of the series.
Will Mia manage to avoid becoming Cade's?
Will Cade finally be overruled? How?
Will the Quinctus change their traditional ways?
I am so looking forward to the next book to get all the answers i need!

Tarnished Crown is book two in the Gravestone Elite series. An interconnected story these books must be read in order to understand Mia and Bexley's journey. This book picks right up where book one finished.
This series is so unique. Although it is formulated on the basis of a dark suspenseful college romance is has this underlying mystery with customs and practices that I haven't read in any other books. Just as we think we are starting to unravel the mystery a whole other set of twists and turns are thrown in. Things that seem clear get blurred and leave us hanging on the edge of our seat for more.
Would highly recommend Tarnished Crown which in turn means the whole Gravestone Elite Series.
Looking forward to what will surely be an epic conclusion to this series in Fractured Reign.

Ummmmmmm I am not okay!! That ending had me yelling at my iPad 😳😱
This is book 2 in this trilogy and in my opinion it’s even better than book 1. We get to the bottom of a lot of secrets in this one but so many more questions take their place. I love the heroine in this book. She’s quiet but fierce. . I can’t wait for book 3.
If you enjoy bully style books with a brutal secret society thrown in this is for you. It’s a roller coaster of angst and emotions. Loved it!

No no no no no, that ending!!! No way, really? Oh my gosh!!! Holy smokes! These cliffhangers are killing me. I am not sure which one is worse, book one or this book?!! The writing in this book grabs your attention from page one. You are desperate for answers after book one’s cliffhanger. Only to in turn get so many unanswered questions in this book! This book was intriguing, heartbreaking and pulled at my heartstrings like ever other chapter! I just want Bexley and Mia to figure this all out! Just when you think they do something else is thrown their way.
Caitlyn’s writing is phenomenal, entertaining and the endings keep begging you for so much more! I am absolutely loving these books. Mia may come off as helpless but she is far from it. She is fierce and a fighter! And Bexley, hot as all heck Bexley! This guy is determined throughout the entire book! This is a must read! It will grab your attention and have you holding on tight!!

OMG!!!! I knew Cade was evil but I saw none of this coming. We pick back up right where book one left us with Mia reeling from what she saw. Bixley on the other hand remembers things wrong due to the drugs they gave him. They both have navigate that as well as so much more as the days get closer to the ceremony that will tie Mia to Cade. I swear it's a giant roller coaster from start to finish that totally blew my mind. I won't even get started on that doozy of a cliffhanger. If you like dark romance with oodles of triggers then you have to try this trilogy. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

This second book had me since page 1 in a trance. I love Mia and Bexley’s story, but I’m frustrated, in a good way, that there’s another cliffhanger ending to book 2 as well.
I am assuming this is a trilogy and we will get our closure in book 3. I need the ending soo much right now.
This book is full of steam, romance, mystery and suspense all into one book.
I love Caitlyn Dare’s writing and enjoying this new spin off series soo much! This second book was soo much better than book 1 in my opinion. This book had more steamy scenes and more of the backstory
I am assuming this is a trilogy and we will get our closure in book 3. I need the ending soo much right now.
This book is full of steam, romance, mystery and suspense all into one book.
I love Caitlyn Dare’s writing and enjoying this new spin off series soo much! This second book was soo much better than book 1 in my opinion. This book had more steamy scenes and more of the backstory

My initial reaction upon finishing this book:

After diving straight into the dark and depraved world of Gravestone in Shattered Legacy, Tarnished Crown managed to carry on and blow the story out of the water.
This book is utterly griping, completely captivating and fully enthralling. I devoured it. It is a hold-your-breath-read-in-one-sitting kind of book, that I just couldn't put down no matter what.

Book 2 in the trilogy following Mia and Bexleys story.
This one has even more twists. And turns than book one as pieces of the puzzle fall into place and truths are uncovered. Mia overhears conversations which she shouldn't have, and bexley is told to look after Mia.....
The big day of Mia and Cades Coglio is coming fast and it's all anyone can talk about. Mia however, has stopped hoping something will happen to save her and goes about trying to save herself, and Bexley is more than happy to help.
The two star struck lovebirds try to stay away from each other - genuinely -, but they can't. Deciding to stuff it and carry on seeing each other and just be careful. It's sad to know that their love is genuine but unless the Coglio can be stopped, it makes no difference, and this will have to stop.
Cade, however, is getting more hands and more aggressive in his actions towards Mia and its only towards the end of the book we get a tiny hint of why. But not enough to know the full reason.
The Elite is still very much under Cades thumb, but bexley seems to find an ally in Channing, who is trying to find a way out. Mia also finds an unlikely ally in Sacha who is the sister of Brian. Channing and Sacha are also secretly in love so understand the frustration and interestingly help each other to get some time for each couple providing alibis
After the Coglio is complete, cade and mia have what's like a honeymoon night. And cade has already taunted what he's going to be like. In fact one of the Quintas told channing to follow behinf them to keep an eye to make sure Mia stays safe.... Not a good sign.

This was one dark captivating intense and twisted ride ! I don’t even know how I feel right now shock maybe or I’m shooketh to my absolute core . This book started right where the first one left off and gets right to it the writing doesn’t miss a beat ! I don’t want to get into the story because I truly believe this is a trilogy that you have to experience for yourself but what I can tell you is this story is explosive it’s destructive it’s dark dirty and full of secrets that stem from over a decade this story is fast paced it’s steamy there is so much going on that I want to know about so many side characters that I love and intrigue me this book is amazing and it definitely is going to the top of my most recommended and favorite trilogies of 2021 ! The cliffhanger in this one was just as intense as the last it’s out right brutal and I don’t know what to think right now! Trust me if you haven’t started this trilogy yet you need too ! I’m going to be waiting anxiously for the conclusion to this epic crazy twisted ride and I can’t wait to see everything come too in Fractured Reign !

I am not going to lie when I finished Shattered Legacy I lost it! I wasn’t sure if I wanted to pick this book up, because I was so mad at the ending of the first book. I am glad I did! I liked this book a lot better than the first, but of course there is still a cliff hanger! This one just didn’t make me as mad.
We start Tarnished Crown the next day after the events at the end of Shattered Legacy. Bexley and Mia have a lot to work though in this book, but they need to come together to take down Cade and the rest of the Q. There of course was the same debauchery as in the first book, and the steam was out of this world.
What I liked about this book is Mia finally found her voice and there was a lot more trust between her and Bexley. I am not going to lie Bexley was not my favorite in the first book, but I feel like he redeemed himself in this book. I also liked that we are getting more answers even though not every question is answered. They have the leave some for the last book! Also I liked that we are seeing cracks forming in the Q, Electi, and finally CADE! He is one of the worst villains I have read in a long time!
I can’t wait to see how Dare gets Bexley and Mia out of this horrible situation and to see what happens after this cliff hanger!

This picks up where the last book left off and it kept my adrenaline high out the gate till the end. Mia is at the mercy of Cade but her heart only belongs to Bex against her better judgment, she just can’t stop. The twists and turns are plenty and I have a laundry list of questions I hope get answered in the next one

I dove into this book like a MOTHER CHUCKER, as soon as it landed in my Kindle! Since I was dying to know how it would all play out, especially between Mia and Bex given how it ended in Tarnished Legacy!
The story continues off from the cliffhanger in Shattered Legacy. And once again as the story progresses Caitlyn sucks you back in deeper into the dark abyss that is the mystery of Gravestones Elite.
I couldn’t help but fall in the rabbit hole that was this story! It had me tethered, never wanting to pull away, apart or let go from this spellbinding and enthralling story that was Bex, Mia and the others of Gravestone town.
OMGHHKP the sexual tension between Mia and Bex alone (despite what happened with Bex) was always at a all time high, just from the looks alone. Until they finally give into their desires yet again.
Though Mia may have been angry for what Bex did (through no fault of his own) she couldn’t help succumb with giving in, but at the same time taking what she wanted too when they would get together. With their connection only growing stronger.
HOLY SMOKES BATMAN the heat level of them giving into their lust was off the charts FIRE!
Slow and sensual, but fast uninhibited, spicy and sexy, and sweet and romantic all at the same time! Caitlyn not only showed their growing (and never ending) passion for one another again, but this time she went above and beyond by cracking the heat level even higher, like off the charts HOT! Like a smoked filled volcano erupting burning hot lava all over, causing steam to billow everywhere and carry throughout.
Honestly that was how Bex and Mia were together in all their moments, succumbing and never holding back throughout. Besides the passion, their bond still continued to grow stronger (as it was more than just pleasure involved), even though they’re playing a game in which they can never be together. They still never give up on one another and continue to forge on with fighting, even though they know it is hopeless.
Though Mia may have Bex, we get to see a shift in her relationship with Sasha. Leading to a friendship bond, knowing they are both going through similar situations with being confined to this life. So they are able to rely on each other more with the understanding of each others pain. While at the same time trying to help one another to forge on and not lose their strength, fight or hope.
The mystery and suspense that came from this story alone was off the f*cking charts! It had you sucked in even more (if that’s possible) like a high you need to survive.
The more Bex and Mia try to uncover the mysteries of Gravestones, the more bumps and hurdles they would endure, leading them to more questions and missing puzzle pieces in trying to make sense of it and get the final picture they want/need.
The anxiety from all the mystery, tension and suspense throughout had me at a high. Never knowing when something could occur or someone getting caught out. Seriously Caitlyn Dare had my stress level off the charts with this book! This series so far has been a major labyrinth with everything that goes into uncovering this mystery, especially with Tarnished Crown. But that’s what had me entranced into this dark, twisted, warped and deviant town that is Gravestone!
Caitlyn Dare definitely pulled through yet again withBex and Mia's story, though no surprise there since she already killed it with the first book in Gravestone Elite Trilogy.
She completely obliterated me with that cliffhanger! Knowing I will have to wait in agony for the final chapter Fractured Reign in the Gravestone Elite Trilogy!

Phew, this is a series so you need to read the first book to even have a clue of what is going on. And again, like my review of the first book, I don't want to give to much away...not that I could because this series is so complex.
The second book picks up after the first ends with a cliffy. I feel like this book was a bridge to some serious sh*t that is about to happen in the next book. It wasn't that long but was chock full of crazy. Mia and Bexley are trying to fight to stay in each others' lives as best as they can without Cade finding out. Other characters are starting to lose their way and others are seeing things clearer . Some are pulling away from the creepiness that is oozing out of this town. There is a countdown that is looming and getting closer and closer. Mia and Bexley know that once this day comes...it may be the end for them.
They are on a mission in this book to find a way to change the outcome of the impending Dooms Day. Yet again, this book ends literally on the Day of Doom and we have to wait to find out what the hell will become of this town. There were more hot scenes, some pretty angsty and WTF scenes. Things are definitely escalating and more of Cade's crazy is showing. Sitting waiting patiently for next book!

Once this landed on my kindle, I immediately dove in. I was dying to know how it would all play out, especially between Mia and Bex given how it ended in Shattered Legacy.
This story picks up right from the cliffhanger in Shattered Legacy. And as this story progresses I was sucked in deeper into the mystery of Gravestone Elite.
And gahh Mia and Bex’s chemistry and tension was off the charts!
The more Bex and Mia try to uncover about the mysteries of Gravestone Elite, the more questions, bumps and hurdles they have to endure. They are trying to make sense of the puzzle with a lot of missing pieces.

This was thrilling to read, I was curious to see how everything goes, and Cade really pissed me off. Sometimes I found it to be concentrated a little bit more on the carnal desires, rather than the story, but hey it's Mia and Bexley, they had a chemistry from the beginning. And the ending, don't even get me started, unexpected, can't wait to read the final part and see how the story of Mia and Bexley ends. I hope that Cade will have a hard life.

Oh my freaking goodness, this book is AMAZING, I could not put it down! Every little detail is meticulously planned out by Caitlyn Dare that I am just dumbstruck after reading it. It picks up right after the first and continues the roller coaster. It is insane and awesome and just wow. If you like your books dark, hot, and gritty oh my goodness is this for you!
The steam is piping hot, the secrets are explosive, and still left with tons of questions. Words cannot describe how freaking in awe I am right now after reading this. Tarnished Crown is DEFINITELY 5 stars from me and I cannot freaking wait for the next book and to see how it goes and everything plays out!

What just happened I m still in shock & a little heartbroken well not a little a lot!!! Last two chapters just broke my heart omg author why Did you do ugghhh..

& Cade Agghhh I just wanted him to be good well we will see what happens in book 3. This book was so much full of secrets , surprises, suspense & the I was not expecting what happened at all really. I m just so shocked .
I like the development in Mia & Bex character also I NEED SASHA & CHANNING BOOK.

Wow I don’t know we’re to start this book left off were the last did and holy shit this series keeps getting better and better . I for one I absolutely hate Cade he piss me off and he is a definitely is on my hit that’s damn sure and There were times that I want to throw my phone. This book Definitely took me on a roller coaster of emotions and Definitely page turner I little Devoured this within 6 and holy shit that Cliffhanger at the end wtf I need the next books please I aam dying for the next book. can’t wait Fractured Reign !!!!!

This book had me nervous the entire time I read it. My thoughts bounced back & forth between god this is extremely unfair I hate all men to Cade is a psychopath. Mostly Cade & Ashton terrify me & that’s all I could focus on.
More secrets were revealed but they honestly just led to even more questions. I have no idea how this is all going to play out. It’s what’s kept me flipping pages! The ending was another massive cliffhanger but I’m thinking there’s more to this ending than meets the eye.

Book 2 in the Gravestone Series is just as intense as the first one. You are left with another cliffy that will have you saying NO!! TC starts off with a bang and ends with a bang. I don’t know which one I felt more!?! This series has my emotions on an endless ride. It’s dark, dirty and downright destructive. A must read!
