Woah. Now this is a pirate romance I can get on board with, ahoy mateeeey 🏴☠️! Full steam ahead! 🛥🗡🔱🦜🌊🏝
A women who is born of nobility is raised by a bunch of pirates after her parents are killed during a raid as a baby. Her heritage is kept a secret. BUT WAIT - another pirate clan comes to the island in secret to kill them. The captain, Morgan, falls for the women. He then leads the attack, killing most of her family, and takes her with him back home. She cannot forgive him for killing her father or her family - OR for lying to her.!
** bring on the lovers to enemies …. to lovers again trope!! ** Shiver ME Timbers ⚓️ 😉
• what made this romance GREAT:
- Our captain wasn’t a feral pig headed man. He was actually a Lord who doubled as a captain. And although he was stubborn, annoying, and frustrating he was a gentleman.
- A strong heroine who can fight, but also be a damsel in distress ⚔️
- A strong family foundation. 🥺 the big scary pirates loved our heroine. They were all like a father to her. Everyone supported our couple. Also the relationship of our hero’s mom and our heroine!! Uggghhh
- Our hero would fight the world for our heroine❤️
• what I DISLIKED:
- The book was solid until a secret comes out half way through! COME ON!!😡🤬
- Also, half the book took place in a piratey setting and half took place in prim and proper society, not in the open oceans like most pirate romances. 🙄
- They both hit each other during the book🙄 with good reason but still. I hated that part.
- The ending was way too abrupt.!.!.!.!.!.!
- I hated some of the characters, you know who you are.
📖Tropes: soul mates, strong heroine, stubborn hero, pirates, traveling, confined spaces, hot tempered hero, secrets, class differences, pregnancy, dangerous situations, loving family, enemies to lovers, bantering couple, friends supporting the couple.
