... Post-apocalyptic days.
What have you done to muhfuckin' self? I am completely consumed by this trilogy. I need the third book like now!
Note: This is an apocalyptic dystopian romance.
Fighting for Rain is the second book in the Rain trilogy.
I have so many things to say right now, but I'm afraid to spoil the book and I'm in a hurry. So, I'll just make this review spoiler-free and brief as possible.
The turn of events wasn't what I expected, but it wasn't a bad thing. I loved watching the main characters battled with their inner struggles and dealt with different new situations in which they could learn how to survive. Aside from that, I'm looking for more romantic development between Wes and Rain. I loved these characters, they're one of the best couples I've ever encountered, but I want them to completely trust each other emotionally because we didn't get enough of that in this book.
I feel like I will love the third book so much based on that ending. Diving into the next one!

Everything intensifies in this installment. We get some plot action, character development, and relationship drama. The romance is not as prominent as it was in the first book. However, considering the progress it makes on the other aspects of the story, this book is still very much gripping, emotional, suspenseful, funny, sexy, and just all around fabulous.

Wes and Rain might have survived April 23, but they don’t know that what lies ahead could possibly be even more dangerous than the apocalypse. Left with nothing to brave the new world, Wes and Rain find themselves at the town’s local mall where they are confronted with the ghosts of their pasts and their worst nightmare, yet.
“Fuck’ em all and survive anyway.”
In this book we learn some truths behind the Four Horsemen phenomena and April 23, and let me tell you that it’s absolutely crazy! I loved this apocalyptic aspect of the book where people are forced to survive and huddle together with very limited resources. It’s like some refugee camp, and it’s full of mean looking bullies and a bunch of hilarious folks.

Wes and Rain are also dealing with their own personal turmoils. Wes with his abandonment issue and Rain with her grief and panic attack. I really appreciated the journey they went through to overcome those struggles. I was not, however, very keen on having one new character from Rain’s past to pop up and ruin everything for her and Wes. I was just relieved they were not downright evil—or so I thought.

Can we talk about those Wes/Rain moments inside the Barnes and Nobles and by the fountain? I swear I swooned hard and cried harder. Gah! They are so sweet. I can’t believe the author actually made that ending happened. I mean, I’m so excited for Wes and Rain though. I can’t keep sit still waiting for the conclusion to drop.

I gave the first book in this series 5 stars and it was one of my favorite romances I read last year. This book was okay. I still love the relationship between the main characters and this post apocalyptic world is so cool, but I felt like this suffered too much from second book syndrome. For a good 50% absolutely nothing happened and it felt like filler. I am still excited to read the 3rd book and see how it all ends!

I was lucky enough to beg BB Easton for an early copy of this book and she actually sent it to me. Buwhahahahahahaha. Anywhose it, I thought the first one was one of the most amazing books I'd ever read. The second one is even better!!!!! I can't wait for you guys to read it and I can't wait to get my hands on the third.

That ending thooooo... I don't even know what I'm going to do with myself while I'm waiting for Dying For Rain. Rain and Wes made it. They survived April 23rd. Sweeeeet! However, the world had descended into even more chaos and survival wasn't guaranteed. They needed to find food and shelter. They needed to save their friend. And they needed to figure out what their future, if they even had a future, would be.
I found so much of this story absolutely hilarious. The introduction of Q and her insane antics kept me extremely entertained. I wonder if I'll see Mz Ridiculous in the next book 😆😆😆 BB Easton has a knack for snagging my attention within a few words and leaving me hungry for more. This trilogy is hypnotic with its despair and its hope and its love. I can't wait to find out how it all ends!

Overall Opinion: I'm a little bummed by this one tbh. I wanted it to be as good as the first, but I'm afraid it is the dreaded 2nd book in a trilogy. It felt a lot like filler to get us to the last book. I'm still going to jump into that one because I want to know how it will all end -- but this was just okay for me 🤷🏻♀️
(Very) Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Rain and Wes' story. It takes off where the first book ends and they are fighting to survive in a different way with different people now. There are some suspenseful moments, some big reveals, and some sexy times...and this ends with a cliffy.
Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Rain and Wes' POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Alright. I never skimmed but I did feel like nothing was happening for a while and was tempted.
Instalove: No, but they already have strong feelings (of love) for each other when this book begins.
H (Hero) rating: 3.5 stars. Wes. He wasn't in a good sized chunk of the book but I was glad when he returned.
h (heroine) rating: 3 stars. Rain. She was kind of a heartbroken shell in this book, so I didn't really like her as much as I did in the first book tbh.
Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed
Push/Pull:Yes
Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Yes
OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Yes

I couldn’t wait to get my hands back on Wes and Rain because Ms. Easton did such a great job of hooking me in book one. I wanted, no I NEEDED, to find out where she was going with the plot and book two was a seamless transition into what turned out to be some awesome twists and turns. I’m usually pretty good at predicting but I was kept on my toes and pleasantly surprised.
This book included new enemies, stronger bonds, and a rollercoaster of emotions. While we got some more insight into our main characters and what motivated them, we were also left with many questions and quite the bombshell cliffy. While I’m admittedly not the biggest fan of cliffhangers, there are a few authors that I’ll gladly jump into that pool for, Ms. Easton being one of them.
There’s not a whole lot that can be said without giving away key elements that are best left to the experience of reading it but I highly recommend picking this series up. Book 1 went into my favorites in 2019 and book 2 is joining the favorites ranks. I’m more than ready to see what’s next for one of my favorite couples.

I am just speechless right now. I didn't think it was possible to top Praying for Rain, but this one certainly did just that. From start to finish, I was completely and utterly hooked on this book. Fighting for Rain was intense, gripping, sexy, and absolutely amazing! It definitely brought out all of the feels in me. I smiled. I cried. I raged. And I fell in love with Wes and Rain all over again.
The world was supposed to end on April 23rd, but it didn't. Wes and Rain are alive to see another day. But with no family left to go home to, the two of them find themselves at the town's local mall. There they are faced with new obstacles that neither are even remotely prepared for. Will they be able to survive their new enemies or the new laws enforced in this new world?
Fighting for Rain is a fantastic read that more than checked off all the marks for me. It was well written with a perfectly executed plot and well developed characters. This angsty and exciting tale will have your heart pounding while keeping you on the edge of your seat. You will be left shocked and surprised with all of the twists and turns. Please do yourself a favor, and READ THIS BOOK! As soon as it goes live, be sure to one-click this baby. It is an exciting ride that you will not want to miss.

!Mildly Spoilerish!
How do you rid the Earth of humans? Rid the humans of their humanity. Simple as that!
So April 23 comes and goes , Apocalypse was actually a hole set up , conspiracy if you want, so the planet itself can get rid of the "excess".
Wes and Rain don't get to far from book 1..just like 20 miles away , in a mall, where other people are living under the ruling of an evil girl( this was so Walking Dead...with people living under a persons dictatorship and not making any protests to injustice). Anyway...it felt like the drama and angst here was chocking me...
Rain ....Rain Rain... you stupid girl....GAH ...she annoyed me so much in this one. Why was she so insecure and childish and paranoiac and sooo weak ? I understand PTSD, but this was on a very different level. Wes.. he was way insecure than his former self in the first book, but still much better than Rain , At least he was still very resourceful and calculated.
“I’ll fight to keep you alive. I’ll fight to keep you safe. But I will never fight to keep you, or anyone, from leaving me.”
We learn about all this new government and the plot develops into different scenarios for the next book. TBH this felt like a mix between Hunger Games ( control of population, executions) and Walking Dead ( with the small settlements living under dictatorship, where one person-here a girl no less- can control the lives and ordering everyone around. )
The cliffy at the end is kinda brutal...so yeah I wasn't very impressed how thing went into book 2, but I will read book 3 because I still like this series and the dynamic in the story.

Wow!!! This story keeps getting better and better...
I loved how the events turned out and literally, i'm itching to get my hands on the last book...
Especially after THAT ending!!!
An ending that left me with my mouth wind open on surprise, my heart broken in the possibility of what will happen and with a big WHY??? repeating on my mind!!!!
Phew!!! That ending stressed me out so damn much and i don't know what to think after everything that had taken place in the last chapter and through out the book!!!
"The impending apocalypse made people do crazy thing.
Some burnt entire cities to the ground...
And me? I let myself believe the desperate ramplings of a lost, lovesick teenanger.
But the fours horsemen never came for us.
Reality did..."
Well, Rain and Wes survived April 23 and now, we are on April 24...
They're still trying to survive and to fight this storm together...
But the things very soon will become very complicated in many aspects...
Someone is tumbling back in Rain's life and it's making it really hard for Wes to stay unaffected.
The nightmares are still there but they had taken a different turn...
More people are appearing, new people, but what are their intentions???
And the apocalypse had come in a different form... A more chaotic and unpredictable form...
What will happen after all when everything are falling apart???
"He looks like the man who refused to let me go when everybody else had left me behind.
But he did let me go. He must have.
Because this guy sure as hell ain't him."

Well, Wes is still my favorite guy in the world...
He is so strong, so determined, so capable to survive, so protective of the one he cares about...
But in here, we saw that he can have also insecurities and that he can take the easy way out, even though he might rip his heart out...
As for Rain??? I think that the day after, stressed her even more than before... Because then, there was an expiration date, so she could keep her problems on arm's length and now, they are suffocating her and she is acting a little bit crazy...

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
This trilogy is a really good surprise!
I'd never read dystopian before, and this is my first "apocalyptic" romance, so maybe it's that feeling of something new, but I'm enjoying the shit out of these books!
Seeing what's happening to their minds as they try to survive a world where everyone only cares for yourself and that healthcare is a punished with public execution, it's kinda of thrilling!
The beginning of this one was a bit slower than the previous one, but with new struggles and new problems altogether.
I love Wes and I can totally understand Rain's fears... She suffered enough, and after that end, it seems like she still have more shit to pile up!
I'll start the last audiobook ASAP!
Highly recommend it!

2 Eh Stars
I don't really want to be mean in this review, but what in the F did I just read? This was worst than the first one, and I'm surprised I even made it this far. Again, I don't feel like doing a long review especially for such a short book, so this will be just a quick rant (again, hopefully).
SPOILERS!
So the first thing I didn't like, was how much Wes wasn't even in the book. We had pure Rain POVs up until maybe like 50% and then Wes didn't reappear until about 60%, so ya, that's kind of dumb. But then again, most trilogies with couples always go this cliche way of making the couples part in the second book for a useless reason, and this trilogy so far is full of cliches.
I also hated Wes being gone because I legit couldn't stand Rain or the mall people. I don't care about most of what anyone did, especially the cliche evil Q lady, who I couldn't stand. The heroine was WEAK. She let everyone stomp all over her, especially the Q girl, and did NOTHING about it. Literally! The Q girl drags her by her hair and slaps her with rings on in front of everybody, all because she didn't eat any of the mall peoples food because she has her own supply, which everyone does, and what does Rain do? She BEGS to stay! Legit begs! She was afraid to go outside because it "reminds her of home". She legit has a panic attack just from going outside to rinse off in the rain even though she was totally fine with it in the first book. I hate how she acts like she's the only one that really has had something bad happen to her. Shes afraid to leave the place, and yet the people inside treat her like crap, and offer nothing but what? To be around more people?? So pretty much instead of having growth and development in these last 2 books, she goes from weak to super freaking weak.
I didn't care for the first book too much, so I was at least hoping this one would be better, but nope. This book went from something useless happening to more useless things happening. We got more time with the mall people and Carter especially, that alone almost made me want to DNF, and then we got Wes leaving for no reason, then coming back, then having to leave again. Then we have a weak heroine, and of course that little somethin' somethin' happening right at the end which I think everybody expected to happen, and was again, very anticlimactic.
So overall, not a great book, it was boring, drab, and I won't be reading the next in the series.

Praying for Rain was one of my favorite books of 2019, so I have been DYING to read more to see what would happen next after that ending. I was so in love with the romance between Wes and Rain as the end of the world approached and I couldn't wait to get more of them in this book.
Page one begins literally right where book one left off. We are dropped right into the action, but that action quickly declined until the story kind of went stagnant for a little bit. When a certain thing happen in this book, we get Rain moping around for a good 40% of the novel. I loved the nonstop action and the angsty romance in book one. We didn't get enough of that in this book, but I definitely have a feeling we'll go right back to that in book three based on how this book ended.
What I did enjoy, though, was watching Rain survive in a whole new situation and finally dealing with the emotional trauma from book one. Our main characters were thrown into an entirely new situation and they had to figure out how to survive while still recovering from everything they experienced from the first book. Definitely suffers from middle book syndrome, with not a lot happening for the middle portion of the book. There's lots of talk of getting out of the mall, but very little actual movement. However, I did like that Wes and Rain weren't together all the time as it helped to develop them as separate characters as opposed to a unit with one goal. That ending certainly grabbed my attention too, and I'll admit I immediately started the third book after finishing.
Look, it's not amazing literary fiction, but it's certainly a fun time. And while I'm currently filling my brain with a lot of information for university, this is exactly what I want.

Fighting for Rain is book 2 in The Rain Trilogy and it was another awesome read. Wes and Rain find themselves looking for shelter after the explosion in book 1 and Rain comes face to face with someone from her past. This situation will test their relationship and we will see a different side to Wes. The confident guy we first met will be replaced by a boy afraid of being left behind. This was something that really broke my heart and I couldn't wait for him to come back. Rain showed a very confident side at times but the debilitating panic attacks slowed her down. The why's of what happened to the world are shocking and I knew it was only a matter of time for the other shoe to drop. That ending shocked me but I'm thrilled I only have to wait 2 weeks to get answers.

Well, if I ever doubted BB’s bad assery before now, (which I didn’t), I can promise you I never will. Ever. She brings that attitude to her writing with this whole series, but especially this book. I’m still trying to come up with the words to articulate the feels this book evoked within me. Never would I ever have imagined that I would be into a dystopian romantic suspense story, but leave it to BB to make me a believer.
This book is so much darker, angstier, and way grittier than Praying For Rain. This book actually made me think about the future, and shuttered to think about some of these things actually happening here in America. *Shivers*
I love these strong fierce characters, Wes and Rain, that are the real heroes of this story. Both have been to hell and back, and it’s shaped them in different ways. If I had to describe this book in 3 words, those would be it. I honestly cannot BELIEVE what I just read. Since this book starts right where PFR left off, there was no trouble getting into it. It was like hitting resume on my favorite action movie (which is laughable because I do NOT watch those. But with BB’s stories, I am totally game for my heart to race like a frickin jackhammer). I’ll admit: I was uber afraid to start this book. I barely survived the emotions brought on by book 1. I honestly have no idea how I survived this book either. Because really, for all the action & danger within this book, (believe me, there’s SO MUCH!) what really got to me was the nostalgia & heartache Wes and Rain experience in this desolate, unforgiving time. They’ve had everything taken from them. They each deal with it in very different ways. But the fact that they craved normalcy and comfort from each other the most in the most desperate of times was so obvious. I love their connection. Wes acts like this intense brick wall with absolutely no feelings when really his biggest weakness is Rainbow Williams. And Rain? She is trying to figure out just exactly who she is now that her version of normal has disappeared. And Wes is such a huge part of that. They deserve everything perfect and good in the world.
BB Easton, my lady, were BORN to write. Your stories are phenomenal. They never disappoint. Let me tell you something: I remember when I went to Book Bonanza 2019 last year. Staci Hart was talking about angst in books and how authors keep readers on their toes. She said something along the lines of how the relationship is like a cookie. You dangle that cookie like it’s your job and just when readers think they FINALLY have the cookie, you take it away. Okay well, replace cookie with my heart & that’s what happened to me the whole book. You see BB, I HAD my heart at the start of this book. As evidenced by the rapid beating of it. BUT! I gave it gladly with some sweet moments. Got it back. THEN! THENNNNN! You straight up STOLE IT! TOOK IT! And didn’t give it back until 60 something percent of the book was over. And I thought, oh okay cool we’re FINE! No. No no noooooo. Because it just kept happening after that. It was like you played tug of war with my heart. I was happy then angry then worried then hopeful then scared then back to happy. And by the end? DEVASTATION! But it was WORTH IT! I’ll just say “fuck em and survive [my heartache] anyway.” 😌
I need book 3 like I need to breathe, okay? I’m not joking when I tell you I’ve been a fumbling screaming mess since I finished. My mom literally wants to ship me off to Crazytown. I definitely shouldn’t have had that coffee while reading. I legit couldn’t catch my breath or form a coherent sentences for like 2 hours. It’s a miracle I’m writing this right now.
I should probably point out Dying for Rain comes out the day before my birthday. I really don’t think I can handle it, I’m so excited. And don’t even START with that freaking playlist. I’ve played one particular song a bazillion times and cannot quit crying. I NEED ANSWERS!

Here we are again. Me trying to articulate just how phenomenal of a storyteller BB Easton is. Fighting for Rain delivers so much more than I ever could have imagined. The action and intensity start immediately when the world DOESN’T end. The damage is done. The world has unraveled into a lawless chaos. Wes and Rain have no time to revel in the fact that they survived, and with a couple found friends along the way, they very quickly have to seek shelter while they deal with the aftermath of a terrible accident. Little do they know that they are walking into a place already swimming with past ghosts and new antagonists, not to mention learning the mind-bending revelation of the vile psychopathic reason behind all of it.
Something obvious but still needs to be shouted—Wes and Rain ARE the stars of this crazy, raw, stressed show. Period. Rain is still so broken, and she can’t outrun the horrific memories that led her to be at peace with dying in the impending apocalypse. Wes fought tooth and nail to ensure her survival and tada, the apocalypse didn’t happen. No jumping for joy for Rain though. She’s too fractured and the one reason she is barely hanging on is because Wes is by her side. Wes is there, the only thing knocking down the cage in her brain, one bar at a time. And oh my Wes. WES! For me, he is the SUPERstar of the show. Damn this man has been through hell and back…only he had to kick and punch and drag himself tortuously slow out of it, just to find himself spending all of his energy on one thing—survival. Until Rain of course. The shitastic life he’s been dealt has left him with an extreme case of self-doubt. No one has ever cared about him before and though he loves Rain more than anything, he can’t fight his insecurity. But this man of men, this legend of a man, this epically heart-achingly loyal man shucks that doubt off the back of his motorcycle and fights for Rain with a renewed fervor.
I said it after Praying for Rain and I will say it now with my own renewed fervor—Wes and Rain are two of the best characters I have ever read. BB dives deep into each of their beings to vibrantly splash every anxiety-ridden feeling, every idiosyncrasy, and every single trait onto the pages with a flourish. And I would be remiss to not point out that the secondary characters wholeheartedly support this story. And it’s a story completely original and extraordinarily written. Bring on the finale! 5 plus plus plus plus plus stars for Fighting for Rain!

First off, the normal stuff:
1. Rain goes from survivor to spineless mess. PTSD makes sense. But everyone should have PTSD in this world.....what was the point in all that survivor talk in the last book? A lot of the things that happened to Rain seemed to be a case of lazy writing and dumb manufactured drama. Why didn't she communicate with Wes at the start of the book? Why did she never show any agency? The nursing doesn't really count when it's a symptom of her lack of self worth that she still hasn't dealt with.
2. Wes......why??? Isn't he supposed to be smart and protective? After being ready to die for her a few days ago and miraculously getting her back, he leaves her alone with a questionable group of people in the middle of chaos. Carter's family already proved they don't care for her and he called them out on it, so I don't buy that he thought she would be safe. When he came back, it all felt very lackluster and cheap. More manufactured drama and blatant regression for his character.
3. The world building got a bit ridiculous. How did Wes figure out that subliminal message stuff when the world's top researchers couldn't??
The controversial stuff:
This book was racist. The character of Q was a disgusting caricature. Rain was apparently the blonde trophy girlfriend that every black male athlete wanted. At first I thought I must be imagining it. Maybe I'm overreacting.
Then I looked up the author and her other books, one of which is a love story about a white supremacist who's "misunderstood." Her other books have more complaints about racism.
I'm sure the author thinks she's not racist because she has black friends or votes blue or whatever.
The covert racism in her writing is undeniable though. If you're white and iffy about race, just stick to writing about white characters instead of worrying about bringing diversity or edginess into your story.

"Fuck' em all and survive anyway."
Fighting for Rain is the second instalment in the Rain Trilogy and OMG! What a ride this has been!! I had really enjoyed the first book, but this one was so much better! The action, the side characters, the angst, the suspense... just everything that you would expect in a dystopian world! And the romance..
Wes and Rain are two main characters that you love them both seperately and even more when they are together! They can be so good and their scenes so hot! But I also needed more. I felt a little like the romance element wasn't that prominent, maybe because of the storyline developments or how the characters handled everything. I love Wes, but I really wanted to smash his head at some times, but he's definitely one of the good guys that you'll end up redeem.
This book definitely puts you into thoughts about society and how things can change and what we have to do to survive or how many times people you considered as allies they can be turned into foes and vice versa. I really loved the aspect of the whole thing behind the apocalypse (can't say much about it and it's killing me) , I'm very curious to see how this story will be developed , because it's honestly fascinating.

Fighting for Rain is the second instalment in the Rain Trilogy and OMG! What a ride this has been!! I had really enjoyed the first book, but this one was so much better! The action, the side characters, the angst, the suspense... just everything that you would expect in a dystopian world! And the romance..
Wes and Rain are two main characters that you love them both seperately and even more when they are together! They can be so good and their scenes so hot! But I also needed more. I felt a little like the romance element wasn't that prominent, maybe because of the storyline developments or how the characters handled everything. I love Wes, but I really wanted to smash his head at some times, but he's definitely one of the good guys that you'll end up redeem.
This book definitely puts you into thoughts about society and how things can change and what we have to do to survive or how many times people you considered as allies they can be turned into foes and vice versa. I really loved the aspect of the whole thing behind the apocalypse (can't say much about it and it's killing me) , I'm very curious to see how this story will be developed , because it's honestly fascinating.

I thought I was so excited because I was finally diving into Fighting for Rain which was a long time coming after Praying. But let me tell you I was not ready, and neither are you. Because this book will rip you apart and leave you in a post apocalyptic hot mess of shattered hearts and shredded souls. Now I’m glad that the author waited to finish the trilogy and release the last two books back to back, because that’s only humane to us unsuspecting readers.
Both Wes and Rain are a treasure and must be protected at all costs. I spent part of the book being mad at Wes but I forgot all about it faster than you could say Rain, because that’s the magic of ya boy Wes.
Fast paced and action packed just like the first book, this book is full of twists, with unlikely allies and even more unexpected villains at every turn. The stakes are bigger and more brutal, and Wes and Rain have the fight of their lives before they, well, say F*** ‘em all and survive anyway. Meanwhile I will be not-so-patiently Dying for Rain.

Wow. Just wow. I didn’t know I liked books like this. Hold up, I actually DIDN’T like books like this until Bb Easton started writing them. I really didn’t even know what apocalyptic romance was, but then Praying for Rain came along and it blew my mind. I needed the next book, like yesterday. Then, the next book finally came and I need the final book NOW!
Rain is so strong even if she thinks she is irrevocably broken. Wes still has his trust issues, but you can really see in this book that he wants to believe that Rain will be with him forever. This girl is a giver, down to her soul. She helps everyone but herself. I want her to find her voice and destroy everyone who treated her like garbage in the next book. She will have no choice but to rise up and FIGHT! The introduction of other characters (old and new) was an awesome addition. It kept the story fresh and gave it some extra drama. There was times I was angry and at times I yelled at my Kindle while reading. This book deserves all the stars, I would give it more than 5 if I could. BB, this is GOLD!

April 23rd, aka Doomsday, has passed. Now what?
For Rainbow "Rain" Williams and Wes Parker, that is the big question.
Their plans of escaping the area turn sideways quickly and their new fate may just end them.
What surprised me in this story was the role reversals. Rain seems stronger, given a purpose to help others. Sure, she has moments of weakness when the memories haunt her, and she struggles to overcome her painful losses, but given what she's been thru over the past couple days, that's expected.
On the flip side, I thought Wes' role weakened in this book with the reemergence of someone from Rain's past. He begins to second guess everything, to not feel worthy, and would rather walk away than risk being abandoned again.
He looks like the man who refused to let me go when everybody else had left me behind.
But he did let me go. He must have.
The bond between the two of them begins to crumble and we see whether they can survive on their own.
The shocking twist to this story centers on the truth about April 23rd and what happens next. It is an unfathomable concept that some truly selfish people thought would fix everything. And from the reader point of view, you can see how stupid a concept it is. What's most concerning is that the new "rules" put Rain at a huge risk, and as my kindle book percentage wound down, I knew something drastic, aka a cliffhanger, was headed my way. What it actually was definitely surprised me, and I'm not sure how the author plans to tackle this problem and whether the key characters in this series can survive. Given this dystopian theme, no person ever is truly safe. I'm looking forward to seeing how things play out and whether this author will put my emotions thru the ringer in the conclusion to this trilogy. We shall see . . .
