It tackled temples from a Mormon perspective, but goes through the history of temples (Old Testament, etc).
Each page has a large pop-up, a message on temples, a scripture, and a second pop-up. Our child just loves it. My only dig is that because some of the pops are so intricate we had to be super careful when he was little and wanted to paw it!

I suspect it is made from heavier stock because boys and girls will want to look at the marine mammals all the time.
I am a big fan of books that make science fun. This book does that. It's not done as a story, it's non-fiction and interesting. I think it's out of print, but readily available through many second-hand sources. Ours came from a used bookstore.
Strongly Recommended, especially for classrooms....more

Kids like picture of other babies. This one manages to show a number of babies from different counties. I'm sure this was a focus of the editors, but I particularly appreciated the effort in showing babies from normally unsung countries (Bhutan, Mali, Malawi, Fiji). Once your child is old enough to know those are places they aren't familiar with, it will spark some discussions on geography too. It's just awful short and he production quality is so-so.

Where it gets a little silly is how there are both toys and non-toys in it. I found it a little confused, as to the focus. But, my son still enjoys it and it is quick enough that I get right through it with no pain.
Grab it from your library. Since they might not own it, insist that acquire it because it's an excellent library book. ...more

This is not my personal favorite, but my son loves it. The repetition is good for early learners, and the rhyme scheme helps to keep children captivated. Since he was around 14 months, he would sit on our laps captivated as many times as I could read this book before wanting to scream (5-6).
It's cute, and classic. Lots of useful words, and some silliness. ...more
