For Regan Penhaligon, there’s no better place to run to than the exclusive Ardnoch Estate in the remote Scottish Highlands. Her impulsive behavior has finally caught up with her and Regan’s visit with her sister, Robyn, is an opportunity to hide from someone who has grown dangerously obsessed with her.

Determined to make amends for her mistakes, Regan plans to repair her relationship with Robyn by staying close. And when an offer of help comes from Thane Adair, Regan gratefully accepts.

Widower, Thane, needs a new nanny housekeeper for his two young children and when they bond with Regan Penhaligon, he offers her the job. But as the weeks pass and the complex American reveals who she really is, Thane struggles with his growing attraction to her.

Regan never expected to feel so intensely for Thane, but she can’t deny her passion for him or her love for his children. When someone from Thane’s past threatens his family, Regan wants to be his pillar of support. However, his continued inability to trust her might just destroy their chance at future happiness… and the person who drove Regan to Ardnoch might snuff out her chance for any future at all.

i really, really enjoyed the first book in this series earlier this year, so the sequel being released only months later is a massive win.

however, when i read the synopsis, i was worried. i did not like regan. shes portrayed pretty negatively in the first book, so i really had no interest in her as a MC. but its SY, so theres no way i would miss this.

and i have to say, fans of the single dad trope will drool over this. its not my personal favourite, but i cant lie. its done really well and i melted during every single interaction between thane and his two kiddos. and dare i admit that i actually like regan? she has her issues, but no character is perfect. she is genuine, so that helped me warm up to her. and i think the story overall has a good balance between personal/character growth, the romance and chemistry, and the little drizzle of suspense.

but as much as i love SYs stories, it drives me up a wall that she STILL hasnt done any research about the process of americans living the UK. her MCs are always american and they always come to the UK, so the fact that she still doesnt care to get it right really annoys me. i have harped about this enough times that she should know by know that americans can only stay on a passport for 3 months, not 6. plot hole #1. they legally cannot work or make any money on a passport. plot hole #2. they can only apply for a visa on US soil. plot hole #3. in any other book, these mistakes wouldnt bother me. but its a repeat offence for SY and her plots always depend on them, so i am once again rolling my eyes. sigh.

but my own personal rant aside, this is a really strong sequel and great addition to the series!

Happy pub day!

"I'm happy wherever I am, as long as I'm there with you."

After loving Here With Me earlier this year, I knew that book two in the Adair Family series, There with You, was one I had to get my hands on as soon as possible. It was so nice that these two books are being published only a few months apart, although the long wait until Arro and Mac's book will be excruciating. Thane and Regan's book is somewhat set up from the ending of book one, almost on a cliffhanger but not quite, and I was ready to delve deep into the romance, but also into the resolution between the conflict between Robyn and Regan and finding out what has kept Regan MIA for the past 18 months.

If you like:
✔️ Age Gap Romance
✔️ Forbidden Romance (Nanny/Employer)
✔️ Breathtaking Scottish Setting
✔️ Adorable Kids
✔️ A Tinge of Mystery/Suspense
✔️ Strong Family Bonds

...then you need this book in your life. While There with You can *technically* be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading Here With Me first. If you're planning on reading the first book, book 2 does spoil the overarching plot from book one, so proceed at your own risk. Samantha Young knows how to create the perfect balance of slow burning steam and meaningful emotional development, so you don't want to sleep on this series!

*Many thanks to Valentine PR for my review copy.

Regan Penhaligon had seduced him past the point of no return.

I had mixed feelings about this book if I'm being honest. While I couldn't wait to read about
widowed daddy Thane, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Regan. But at the same time, I needed her redemption and to understand her reasons. I'm happy to report that not only did I get that, I loved her even more than I did Robyn, which I didn't think was even possible. I highly recommend reading this series in order to truly experience the full effect of the story and all of the secondary characters. And while I can tell you that I really enjoyed Here With Me, I loved this one even more.
His nanny. His brother’s soon-to-be sister-in-law. His employee, thirteen years his junior.

That up there is basically a summary of all of my favorite things. Forbidden romance, age gap, brooding grumpy alpha and sunshine heroine. GAH. Give it to me.

Regan was relatable the second you meet her on the pages. She has a sunny and fluffy shell, but beneath that fake exterior is a bit of a damaged soul. My heart hurt for her. And even though I wanted to judge her for leaving her sister at a time she needed her the most, I also understood it from her perspective.

Regan shows up unannounced, hoping to mend fences with her sister. Falling in love with the absolutely adorable kids of her sister's fiancé's brother give her the opportunity to stay. She has to do some convincing to Thane to talk him into being the nanny. Thane is desperate for a nanny but also hesitant to take on who he originally thought is Robyn's flighty sister. But his kids absolutely adore her, he's desperate and has no time to waste, so an arrangement is made.

The sparks between these two were immediate. And while Regan has no problem going after what she wants, Thane fights it with everything he's got. His way of fighting it make him be a brooding, intolerable a-hole, and I ate it right up. I loved the push and pull dynamic between them. I loved watching Thane screw up over and over, Regan give him the cold shoulder, and him trying to get into her good graces again. I loved Thane's adorable children, who were my favorite secondary characters. But most of all, I loved watching the chemistry between Thane and Regan get too incendiary to fight off.
Go wait for me in the annex,” he demanded. Her eyes widened slightly. “Clothes off. Keep your underwear on because I want to take it off. And lights on so I can see you. When I get there, I expect you on the bed with your legs spread.”

There was a bit of a suspense element to this book, which I also enjoyed, though it was a touch predictable. But the romance was so delicious and the main characters were so good, that I just couldn't find it in me to care.

I'm so gone for this series, it's not even funny. It just keeps getting better and better with each book and I can't wait to see what the next one brings.

Regan Penhaligon is a 25 yr. old woman whose bad decisions have finally caught up with her. She needs to get away from all her troubles, so she decides to flee Boston and head for Ardnoch Castle and Estate. She's going to visit her older sister Robyn in the Scottish Highlands. While there she also hopes to mend their damaged relationship and make up for her past mistakes. She's in need of a fresh start, so when the perfect opportunity presents itself, she takes it. Her sister's soon to be brother in law Thane Adair is in need of a nanny housekeeper for his two young children, and she needs a job. She has to make a great first impression and make her sister proud. Robyn has always been her hero and favorite person. Responsible and tough, where she was the impulsive, rebellious, extrovert of the two.

Thane Adair is a gorgeous, wealthy widowed father trying to hold it all together. He adores his children, but lately is overwhelmed doing everything on his own. He finds assistance in the form of a beautiful American who bonds instantly with his kids. Soon she's gotten under his skin, and he can't quit thinking of her. He needs to keep things professional and keep his distance, but their connection continues to grow.

Regan's growing crush on her boss is inconvenient and inappropriate. She knows he's off limits, but her attraction to the sexy single dad is out of control. The rugged, bearded lumberjack/Viking vibe he has going on is clearly working its magic on her. Then watching him with his children completely melts her heart. She's in over her head as lines get blurred and everything between them turns extremely complicated. Will they both get a second chance at happiness, and will Regan end up falling in love with more than just the Scottish countryside?

First off, thank you Christy for gifting me the e-book version as a holiday gift, much appreciated!! Xx

There With You is the second book in the Adair Family series and I recommend you read the first book before this one so you can be more acquainted with the full cast of characters. This book is about Regan, a young American who has been estranged from her sister, Robyn, the past couple of years, and who just shows up unannounced at the estate where her Robyn and her fiancé Lachlan live. There she meets Thane, the single father of two adorable children. Thane needs a live in nanny, and Regan needs a job near her sister, so it seems to work out for the both of them. But Thane and Regan are both hiding from their pasts and may find solace in each other.

There really isn’t anything as comforting as a Samantha Young book. Reading her books feels like sliding into a cozy bed on a cold day, they’re just so comforting. I loved this book and I loved Regan. One of my favorite plot devices is when a misunderstood character gets a chance to redeem themselves and I love that we saw who she really was and not just the perceptions of other characters. Thane, well Thane really tested me. I honestly cannot even say I really like the man because he was truly really horrible to Regan. Like, if it were me, I would have only stayed for the kids. But that’s just me.

I’m excited/dying for the next book in the series and while it comes out next year, I hope the release is sooner rather than later. I’m sure it’s going to be amazing.

So I'm not quite sure what it was about it, maybe it was my mood, but I liked this one even better than the first one. There was quite a lot of family/sibling dynamics involved here, and even more dysfunctional relationship fodder to wade through. There was also a very likable heroine (rare as that is), and a stubborn dick of a hero, who you still couldn't help loving, and of course his two sweet kids. There were also dead wives, and psychos from the past to keep things interesting. And even some smoking hot sex scenes. There were even kilts. The only thing missing was the dog!

“This is madness.”
“Then let’s just be mad,” she whispered..

I can definitely see myself reading this again. Looking forward to the next book!

Age Gap - 13 year gap (she is 25, he is 38)

UM HELLO DO YOU SEE THESE TROPES? I loved this book so much!!

I usually HATE reading books if the story takes place in Scotland (where I’m from) because the representation of our country and our culture is always overly exaggerated and not very accurate. But I was very impressed with this book. *** edit: after looking into this author, I have learned that she is in fact Scottish lmao. No wonder the representation was spot on lol***

I am becoming obsessed with the nanny/single dad trope and this book gave everything that I wanted it to give.

I did go into this book first, which is the second in the series, because I’m so impatient that I didn’t want to have to read book one to get to book 2 lol. I saw that it can be read as a stand-alone but just a heads up, loads of spoilers are in it for book 1.

Thane pissed me off on occasion because where was his ability to communicate like an adult?! This dude was 38 and acted like an immature teenager. He said some mean and nasty things to Regan during the third act break up and I wish he had grovelled more.

Overall I still loved this book and I hope the series continues with a book for each sibling!!

“People don’t want to know if you’re sad or hurt or angry or depressed, Robbie. Not even so-called friends. They just want you to say that you’re fine so they don’t have to expend emotional energy on you.”

Exactly what I was looking for. Ticked all of my single dad romance boxes!! This was SO much better than the first one, and was even more engaging. I couldn't put it down once I started!

I fell in love with Regan (Robyn's sister from the first book) pretty much right away. She was more relatable than Robyn, even though she was a little more complex than her sister. I became protective of her instantly with everyone treating her like a loose canon, which made the reading experience better in my opinion because I loved watching Regan defend herself and prove everyone wrong. But I admit I liked Robyn and Lachlan a little less in this book, just because they appeared a little self-absorbed, but that might be because I was reading it through Regan's pov. I just felt like there were moments when Robyn (and Lachlan by proxy) made things about them instead when it should've been more about Regan.

“Whenever I was having a strenuous day or week (or month!), I liked to reread my favorite books. There was something comforting not only about a happy ending but also in going through the emotional angst of a couple’s roller-coaster relationship, enjoying their pain and passion, because you already knew how it ended.”

The romance was PERFECT. I was rooting for Regan and Thane from the first second they met. Thane's reservations and initial mistrust towards Regan made me so excited to see him fall in love with her. I loved how I could see why he would love her, too, it made their romance believable and more emotional. Sorryyyyy Lachlan but Thane is definitely my favorite Adair brother lol. He loved his kids so much, and he also grew to love Regan SO much.

“You’re my woman and I’m your man, and fuck what anyone else has to say about it.”

I never doubted his love for her, but he wasn't the most open guy and he was terrified, so it was interesting to read it from Regan's pov and see her struggling because she thought the love was one-sided (rightfully so, because it did look like that from her pov), but then we switched to Thane's pov and even though he never said it outright because he was still battling it, it was SO obvious Regan was his entire world (along with his kids of course). It was a real page-turner because I just couldn't wait for them to figure shit out.

“The reminder that Thane couldn’t sweep her into his arms and bury his face in her throat so he could feel and hear her pulse rushing, alive and healthy, was a gut punch.”

I enjoyed how angsty this book was (it was SO angsty lol), to me there was never a boring moment, because in between the angst, there would be some filler scenes with the kids which honestly were my top favorites.

I ADORED the kids. I appreciated the author for making them have big personalities & they acted and talked exactly like their ages. The way Regan acted around them was also very heartwarming, I swear I fell in love right alongside Thane every time she interacted with the kids. The kids also loved Regan a whole lot. Like, SO much. It was SO cute to see and I loved it because it added a little something to Thane & Regan's angsty love story.

As for the suspense, it wasn't as intense as the last one because it wasn't the main focus for most of the book, so we got to see more romantic stuff and family stuff. It did get chaotic near the end, and I very much enjoyed the conflict. It wasn't dragged out, and resulted in some great moments so I had no complaints. I'm greedy though so I did wish I could see more of Regan & Thane as a couple in the epilogue.

“Happy here?” Thane asked gruffly.
“I’m happy wherever I am, as long as I’m there with you.”

Regan + Thane

We heard a lot about Regan in Robyn's book and she didn't seem very likeable. But of course she had her reasons.
She's currently on the run, or rather hiding from a stalkery psycho guy. And what better place to hide than her future brother-in-law Lachlan's exclusive members-only castle in Scotland?
Thane is Lachlan's brother. He's a widowed father of two little kids - who immediately fall in love with Regan.
But Thane is not sure if he can trust her to be his new Nanny - after everything Robyn said about her. And what would people say? A single dad falling for his young Nanny?

What will happen with Regan + Thane + the kids?
Will we get our happily ever after?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

Well, what do you want me to say? Beautiful!

Such a sweet and heartbreaking and funny love story. With some very scary and suspensy moments thrown in. Just perfect!
I just adored Thane as a dad and Regan as a Nanny. They're both so amazing with the kids.
And our love story. It'll be a long road until we get that happy end. Age difference, boss-nanny situation, her stalker, his past ... so many obstacles to overcome!
But the reader loves every second of it all!

Now I can't wait for the 3rd book - finally Mac and Arrochar!!

Like I already said in my review for the first book - I could totally imagine this as an amazing Netflix show. We already basically 'see' everything Sam writes about. She describes everything so beautifully. The people, the places... everything.

Beautiful cover, beautiful content!
I loved reading this. Amazing series!

THERE WITH YOU was such a beautiful love-story!
Family. Fun. Heartbreak. Danger. Suspense. Sparks! Sexy times! All the things!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Thane - this one is MINE!

I knew I had a jewel in my hands as soon as I started the Adair Family series from Samantha Young earlier this year. Samantha is one of my top favorite authors, she stole my heart with her Dublin Street series and I believe she will do the same with this one. I am looooooooving this new crew of characters and Thane and Regan were no exception. I actually had a few reservations regarding Regan, she seemed so very different in Here with Me, but I actually loved her so much. This couple is one of those you weren't expecting to connect with and then, the complete opposite happened.

So, There with You is the second installment in Young's Adair Family series and it focuses on Thane Adair's story, the second oldest sibling in the family. Thane lost his wife a few years ago, he is now focused on his two adorable children and getting back to work. He does have a problem. He needs a nanny. Enter Regan Penhaligon. She is Robyn's "wild" younger sister, a woman looking to mend her relationship with her sister after many mistakes. But Regan is hiding behind a mask and those layers start to peel when she arrives in Ardnoch. She becomes Eilidh and Lewis' nanny and she and Thane find themselves fighting against a very strong chemistry. Will these two opposites find happiness together or is it just no-strings-attached sex?

Too much trouble?
That was an understatement.
Regan was trouble.
But only because he wanted her.
Like really, really was seriously lusting after her.

I am so happy with how Samantha developed There with You. I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did! As I said earlier, Regan seemed like such a different character in the first installment and I did not like her much. But she actually is a very vulnerable and charming young woman, hiding her fears behind a mask that starts to peel when she reconciles with her sister. Also, Regan is very good with kids and all the scenes with the children are cuteness overload. I am a sucker for single parent/nanny love stories! Also it looks like age-gap is a running theme too (which I am not complaining about!).

“This is madness.”
“Then let’s just be mad,” she whispered back before pulling his head that last inch down to her mouth.

Thane is such a wonderful hero too. He adores his children, he is very focused on them but he is a bit afraid of starting a new relationship. That especially is enhanced when he finds himself extremely attracted to his children's nanny. He doesn't want to act on it and he keeps hurting Regan in the process. Regan falls for him very fast and, even though she is scared to get hurt, they start a passionate and forbidden affair. But what happens when that starts to affect the family? And what happens when the past keeps screwing things up for the Adairs and the Penhaligon sisters? And what happens when passion turns into love? You have to read this novel to find out! But it's all very much worth it in the end, trust me.

I have everything I need when I’m with you.

Therefore, I am rating There with You with 5 STARS because I believe Samantha Young has created a whole new world that many romance lovers will absolutely adore. These characters have already found a place in my heart and I am sure they will steal many others! Regan, Thane and the children finally have the HEA they deserved and what started as a secret and intense affair ends up with two soul mates finding true love and happiness. I seriously cannot wait to read more in the series and I am so excited for the next story. Highly recommend reading this one!

I have been on roll this month with few first-time authors whose books have all worked out wonderfully well. Samantha Young’s There With You is an absolute cracker brimming with intense emotions and unbridled passion so much that I felt that the sexy chemistry between the central characters was just leaping out of the pages.

First off, I want to thank Samantha Young for making Reagan a lover of historical romances and justifying her love for it, and secondly, for giving her the strength to fight off the stalker and not wait for a hero rescue. YES, There With You is perfectly good to be read as a stand-alone but I would advise you to read from the beginning as the story is about the ADAIR family and there is a strong presence of almost all the family members in the story. So now, I just need to get my hands on book #1 Here With Me ASAP.

Thane and his two adorable munchkins are easy to love. Eilidh is the mischievous entertainer while Lewis is the serious and fierce brother. One couldn't ask for anything more from this novel: a widowed handsome hunk with children and the forced proximity of a sexy nanny. The loss of their mother and the events in the first book had some effects on the children’s lives and Thane finds it difficult to trust his children to another person. In walks, Reagan wanting to stay on at the estate to mend the differences with her sister Robyn and finally be responsible for her actions. The slow-burning chemistry was sizzling between the leads and the author is simply exceptional in creating some beautiful and tender moments between them whilst playing the happy family. And naturally, the sex scenes causing all that increase in heartbeats and flaming cheeks. SIGH! There is also the angst and worry what with Thane having trust issues, and not wanting to clip young Reagan’s wings even before she flies but, of course, there’s only so much ignoring love and desire as much as a steamroller rolling down the hill.

The suspense and the tensions surrounding the issue of the stalker were not that acute as I had expected but the fact that Reagan uses her own skills to save herself was laudable. Scotland has never sounded so alluring, the author’s writing imbued with a sense of calm and serenity with the description of the beautiful locales. The trace of humor that runs thru the banter between Reagan and Thane was thoroughly enjoyable, Reagan having the knack of saying things that inadvertently cause laughter.

Adair family has left their mark on my heart and I would be immensely happy to read all the books in this series.

5 stars!

I am so in love with this book! A slow-burning, emotional and chemistry-filled age-gap romance between a widowed single father and his younger nanny, this story completely swept me away.

This is the second book of the Adair Family series. You could read it as a standalone, but there’s a lot of character crossover and it does follow on really nicely from the first book, Here With Me, which is also a 5-star read, so don’t miss out on that one!

We know a little bit about Regan from the first book. She is the younger sister of Here With Me heroine, Robyn, and even though we didn’t actually see Regan until the final page of that book, she was set up as a selfish and irresponsible wild child travelling the world and pretty much ignoring her family. Now, she has made it to the Scottish Highlands, and Ardnoch Estate, to reunite with her sister, and let me tell you, nothing is as it seems. From pretty much the first moment we see her, we learn that there is so much more to Regan than we have been led to believe, and the happy, perky front she puts on in front of others is just that – a front. She is complex and troubled, and she is determined to stay in town and make amends with her beloved sister, and I adored getting to know her.

Thane is the brother of Lachlan Adair (hero from Here With Me). He is the widowed father of two small children, and he’s in desperate need of a nanny. Though he’s initially wary of Robyn’s flighty younger sister, his children form an instant bond with her, and when she begs him for the chance to work for him, he agrees to employ her for the duration of her stay.

So Regan moves into a guest house on Thane’s property, and becomes his nanny/housekeeper. She’s great at her job and is instantly swept up into the family, and she thrives on the stability, comfort and friendship that she finds in Thane’s home. And as Thane and Regan get to know each other, attraction blooms.

OMG, I loved the set-up for this book, and I love Thane and Regan so much. They’ve both been through really hard times, and though they are at different stages of their life (he is 37, she’s 25), they have a lot in common, and they very quickly come to care for each other. And the chemistry is off-the-charts hot. I could feel every little interaction, every laugh, every smile, every meaningful glance and unintentional touch, and I fell so in love with these two, I was desperate to see how they would come together.

It’s not an easy road for them. Their situation causes some boundary issues, and a sense of the forbidden, and the age gap is a big concern for Thane. There are stops and starts along the way, but it’s exciting rather than angsty, and through it all, Regan shines as a woman who knows what she wants, and who puts her heart out there for the man she feels so much for, and I loved that!

“We can go around and around in circles for days, weeks…but it won’t chase this away, Thane. You want me. It isn’t convenient. It’s complicated…but it’s unavoidable.”

The sexual tension is fantastic. I felt it all, and I was just as antsy as the two of them for something to actually happen. And when it all becomes too much, their passion for each other pretty much explodes, and oh holy God, it’s so freaking hot!

“Go wait for me in the annex,” he demanded. Her eyes widened slightly. “Clothes off. Keep your underwear on because I want to take it off. And lights on so I can see you. When I get there, I expect you on the bed with your legs spread.”

Thane is a bit of a demon in the bedroom – lucky Regan – and they begin a no-strings arrangements that rocks both of their world. It’s passionate and intense, playful and sweet, and I could see them falling harder and harder for each other. But they keep what’s between them just for them, and (in practice at least) they don’t stray away from their original agreement, staying ‘just friends’… until their feelings for each other prove too complicated to navigate.

“I’m so in love with you, it scares me.”

I love these characters! Regan with her huge heart, desperate to find her place, and semi-serious Thane, who lives for his children and is still struggling with so many conflicted feelings after the death of his wife. Both so relatable, they have flaws, but they are realistic flaws, and I love how they were there to encourage and support each other through everything that they go through. They tease, they laugh, they banter, and their passion for each other is unreal. Regan and Thane are so gorgeous together, and I could not get enough of them.

There is some drama in this one, but it’s well-written, understandable, and ties into the story beautifully. Regan and Thane have both been through a lot, they both have secrets, and threats from the past emerge that put their family in danger. And when they should be pulling together, doubts and insecurities will threaten everything that they’ve found. It’s intense and emotional, and I was so invested that I couldn’t put this book down, and read to the early hours of the morning to see how it was all going to be resolved. And was I satisfied? Hell yes, I was! The ending brings the feels and wraps the story up beautifully, with an epilogue that left me grinning madly.

“I’m happy where I am, as long as I’m there with you.”

Obviously this is a romance book, and it’s such a gorgeous love story, but it’s also a story of family, and I adored the way Young wrote Thane’s family. Little Lewis and Eilidh are absolutely adorable, and sensational characters that bring so much to the story. The love for their Dad, and for Regan, is so beautiful, and the way that Thane and Regan adore the children is just gorgeous. Too often in this kind of book the kids are pushed to the side, but Thane is a family man, and this is a realistic reflection of family life. The children, and Thane and Regan’s interactions with them, are such an important part of the story, and I love what a huge part they played.

We also get to see lots of the rest of the Adair family, which I loved! Their relationships are not always easy, but the dynamics are fantastic, and I loved seeing the interactions between them all. I loved the special bonds between Robyn and Regan, and Thane and Lachlan, and we get to see mysterious brother, Brodan with a hint of his future romance (I’m here for that!). And OMG, with all of that sexual tension brewing I cannot WAIT for Mac and Arrochar’s book up next!

I’m slightly obsessed with this family, and this series, and I cannot wait for more.

Another amazing read from Samantha Young, I absolutely loved it – 5 stars!

I immediately went to read There With You after finishing Here With Me because Robyn’s younger sister Regan shows up in Scotland at the end of book 1. And I enjoyed this sequel just as much! We knew Regan did Robyn dirty in the first book – Robyn was always there to care for Regan but the one time Robyn needed Regan, she wasn’t there for her. Now, Regan is in Scotland at the Adair family home and she wants a chance to make things right with her sister. She also has another reason to hide away in Scotland: a stalker who’s obsessed with her.

There With You is a single parent romance with an age gap, two of my favorite tropes. Thane is the younger Adair brother and he’s a widowed father of 2. He reluctantly hires Regan as his new nanny because he’s heard not the best things about her, but he gives her a chance anyway and ends up falling for her. Like the first book, there’s a good dose of suspense with the dangerous stalker, but I loved the romance here! I’m such a sucker for single dad/nanny romances and Thane and Regan were so angsty together. There's so much push and pull between them, even though yes, Thane drove me crazy with how hot and cold he was, but I thought the chemistry was great.

I especially loved the development of Regan’s character. The rest of the characters think that Regan is selfish and unreliable, which is valid from her previous actions, but she tries so hard to prove that she’s changed. I really felt for her in this book and was going through all the emotions right alongside her. She is a total sweetheart with Thane's kids. If you love single dad romances, read this!

5 stars for 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂 by Samantha Young! It’s been 2 days and I still can’t stop thinking about Regan and Thane.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂 is the second novel in the 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. It’s not required that you read the first book, 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲, however it has a lot of the information about these characters as this is a series and the characters all intertwine. If I were going to read this, I would read 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲 first. It’s an amazing read that will lead you right into this one 😊

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂 is an age gap, single dad, close proximity, forbidden romance with some suspense.

We first heard of Regan Penhaligon in Here with Me. Dubbed the “irresponsible sister” for years, Regan feels that the label is unjustified. Still, as I’m sure everyone who read Here with Me wants to know is… where were you? How could you? Those two questions plagued my mind. I am so happy with this book and couldn’t have asked for a better conclusion for Robyn and Regan. Regan more than redeems herself but you 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 read to find out her reasons.

As Regan visits Scotland to desperately repair the broken relationship with her older sister and best friend Robyn Penhaligon who now lives with her fiancé Lachlan Adair in the picturesque Scottish Highlands, she meets Lachlan’s older brother, single dad, Thane Adair. Thane lost his wife and now raises his two young children alone but nearby his loving family.

Lachlan runs his family’s estate that is now a getaway for Hollywood elite. As Regan is navigating her new surroundings she runs into Thane and his lovable little kiddies as they live right next door. Regan quickly takes a liking to the children and soon becomes their live-in nanny.

In true slow burn and angsty form, Regan and Thane fight their feelings for each other. The lust burns from both sides however the older Thane, 38 decides Regan is much too young, wild, and free to be with him. Regan is 25 and has traveled the world. Still, she knows what she wants.

Regan and Thane both have to grow in different ways. Letting go of past trauma is never easy. We find out several surprises that were unexpected.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂 has romantic suspense elements, emotional scenes, and beautiful touching moments! The bond between Regan and Thane’s children is beautiful to read. Thane’s children are a large part of this story.

I highly recommend 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂 as I could not put it down once I started!

Stayed up way too late last night reading this book so now I’m too tired to review properly so here’s some scattered thoughts:

- Lachlan > Thorne
- The angst was SO strong in this mostly because Thorne is an idiot
- Seeing the Robyn/Regan situation from a different perspective was great
- Thorne gave me whiplash
- Regan was a lil bit desperate and way too into Thorne sometimes
- The Adair family really needs to learn to mind their business. They get so up in arms ready to defend over situations they have limited knowledge in. It’s frustrating to read and also sad because someone’s always being punished by them over things the Adair’s don’t even understand.
- Eilidh’s monster voice made the whole book.

(insert song clip gif of Chris Pine singing Agony from Into the Woods here)

Phew, well, I had expected this one to go a little awry considering Regan didn’t make a favourable non-impression in book one, and it’s true her introduction here was rocky and I was not very inclined towards her, but while she did grow on me a bit she won’t be a favourite. Instead what ruined this was Thane, the love interest.

This went hot and cold and then back and forth more chaotically than a spring day in Canada. It was actually painful. But somehow, what was worse, was this preoccupation with people making assumptions about Regan. She’s leaving, she won’t stay; she’s young (twenty five, but from the amount of times it was mentioned you’d think she was eighteen) and will regret settling; she doesn’t know her own mind or her own feelings. Did anyone fucking ask her what she’s doing or what she wants before she was forced to set things straight multiple times because everyone was, once again, steering her around as if they knew her? No. No they did not. I may not have really liked her but ugh she deserved better.

And tied into the age thing, I’m sorry, this isn’t a historical novel, why was there such a preoccupation with her being a little bit younger and taking up with the single dad? Just because she’d started out as the nanny? Who cares what the town had to say? Again, she was not underage. The whole reason for this relationship being played out on the downlow was just dumb.

Don’t even get me started on Robyn and Regan’s mother. Do not.

Anywayyyy yeah this wasn’t a favourite. I’m kind of glad there’s only one more member of Robyn and Regan’s family that’s left to hook up with an Adair because it’s getting to be A Lot (and I can only imagine how weird the family tree will look). So after Mac seals the deal with Arro in book three, which I’m sure will be angsty as hell but I’m keen on it regardless because Mac has been a gem this whole series, I think I know who might wind up with one of the remaining brothers; and as this is a five book series, which makes sense as there’s five siblings, I guess the last one will be a surprise. Though I’m not too enthused about what I assume will be book four (Brodan) because he was a gross jerk in this one.

But yes, I’m reading on.

Headlines:
Too Scot to handle
Gentle suspense
Sense of family

I've recently been informed by the author that this is a five book series and I am pretty exctied to keep the Adairs going; this family, this setting are everything. I really enjoyed book one and I loved book two. This series is clearly building into a favourite contemporary romance/romantic suspense.

While the suspense in There With You felt gentler than book one, it was no less gripping. There was something very tangible about Thane and Regan's story. With a nanny(ish) trope and the most engaging family, this story had me struggling to put my kindle down for the 24 hours that I read it. Thane could be an a**e but he had valid reasons and Regan was so misunderstood; I really enjoyed people realising her character just by being around her for a while.

"These Adair men...emotionally constipated, I tell you."
"So what are we? The laxative?"

The chemistry between these two was so believable and had all the feels, as did the reluctant emotional connection. On top of that, I have been reflecting on the thoroughness of plot points, large and small in many of Samantha Young's books and There With You was a great example of this. I was never once left feeling something was loose ended, nor were things neatly tied; she hits a great balance.

Sign me up for more Adair, I want more, I need more and I will definitely re-read this series. Oh, and I read this book in Gairloch on the NW coast of the highlands...pretty perfect all round.

Before I get into my review, I will mention that this novel has content/trigger warnings involving sexual assault.

I have to say that I knew after reading "Here With You", the first book in the series, that it would be hard to beat Lachlan and Robyn's story. There was something truly captivating and powerful about their romance. Well, I hate to admit it but...I was right. Don't get me wrong, I sill liked the romance between Thane and Regan but I didn't have that same attachment to them and had some issues with their romance (specifically Thane's character).

I am fully supportive of a slow burn/angsty romance and they are some of my favourite romances to read; however, the amount of mixed signals and the degree of 'hot and cold' Thane threw at Regan bothered me. I know the reasoning behind it but the frequency of how back and forth he was was whiplash worthy. Originally I really liked his character but I think some of his actions towards Regan eventually made him irredeemable for me.

Looking past some of my criticisms, this was a really atmospheric read in respect to being located in Scotland. I hope this series continues for the rest of the Adair family because I'm really interested in each of their individual stories and I loved the cameos that each of them had in this novel.

This was a fast paced and gripping story that gave me all the feels.

Regan Penhaligon arrives at Ardnoch Estates to escape her past and make amends with her sister, Robyn for flaking out on her when she was fighting for her life. Thane Adair hires Regan to be a nanny to his children during her stay in Scotland. Sparks fly and tensions rise when people from both their pasts threaten the family and their chance at a happily ever after.

There With You by Samantha Young is the second book in the Adair family series by Samantha Young. Although it can be read as a standalone, it is more enjoyable if you have read the first book.

I hated Regan when she was introduced in book 1 and I was nervous to read her story. But through the course of the book, Regan shows the readers that the labels that have been associated with her for so long are unjustified. We see a wonderful sister relationship between Robyn and Regan. Regan is her own brand of badass and her strength shines through as the story progresses. Regan’s character development was the most satisfying I've read in a while. At the end of the book, I had a newfound appreciation for this character.

Thane is a difficult character to talk about. He is a loving and caring father and an overall amazingly sexy guy. I loved the explosive chemistry between these two and I do understand his doubts and guilt regarding the relationship. But the emotional trauma that he put Regan through seemed uncalled for and made me hate him just a little bit.

The element of suspense in this story does not have the same edge of your seat, whodunit quality as in Here With Me. The tension arises due to troubling elements from Regan and Thane’s individual pasts. Nonetheless ,Samantha Young makes this story unputdownable with its angst filled relationship between the MCs and the wonderful, if sometimes too perfect, kids and their adorable antics.

This story is also particularly angst filled and I loved every second of it. I hurt along with Regan when she initially received a cold treatment from everybody, I raged along with her for the misconceived notions that everybody had about her, I cried right along with her when she thought she loved a man who didn't even trust her, much less love her back and I physically hurt when she finally opened up about her past.

Lachlan and Robyn are wonderful side characters and support systems in this story. They contribute well to the plot and I loved catching glimpses of them and all the other characters in Ardnoch.

Although the first book is my favorite in this series so far, There With You is a heartwarming experience with Samantha Young’s brand of angst, slow burn, emotion, passion and danger.
If you’re looking for an intense and captivating story with hot Scots, beautiful scenery, drama, love and intrigue, grab a copy today.

Samantha Young offers readers the newest entry in her Adair Family series, a wonderful romance with a great mix of suspense, great dialogue, well developed characters, and an angsty romance that had me hooked from the start.

Regan Penhaligon is determined to fix the broken relationship with her best friend and sister. Fearing her sister might reject her, Regan arrives at the Ardnoch Estate without notice intending to stay for however long is necessary, but needs a job. Luckily her sister’s soon to be brother-in-law needs a nanny housekeeper and she’s the perfect candidate.

Reluctant to hire her but seeing how well she bonds with his two kids, widower Thane Adair settles into a new routing with the beautiful woman thirteen years his junior. She’s charmed everyone with her sweet and kind disposition and entranced Thane, but can he trust her enough for them to have a future?

Once again, Samantha Young takes us to the magnificent Scotish Highlands where you’ll enjoyed an emotional tale expertly balanced with delicious tension, a dash of thrilling suspense, beautiful family dynamics that had me glued to my eReader and wanting more.

Thane was such an incredible father I loved how he was with his children who are adorable. Regan is incredibly kind and loving. It’s impossible not to fall for her. Although there’s an age gap between him and Regan, they both quickly and naturally find common ground and reason to care for one another.

Their chemistry is sizzling but their journey is not an easy one. There’s a sense of illicitness because of the age gap, the fact that he’s her boss and will soon be somewhat related. They also have some baggage from their pasts they have to overcome.

Thane and Regan’s story is lovely and it was enriched by their friends and family who rallied around them. I loved having the rest of the Adair family around and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

There With You is book #2 of the Adair Family series by Samantha Young. It is told from both points of view with a happy ending.

“I’ve just gotten into the habit of being happy-go-lucky no matter how I’m really feeling because I know most people don’t want to hear the truth.”
“You don’t have to do that with me.”

There With You by Samantha Young is the second book in the Adair Family series (Here With Me Book #1) and we are LOVING this family! We were excited to get stuck into Thane Adair’s story; the stoic, grumpy, haunted single dad who’d experienced a great tragedy. We knew his story would be a sad tale and we also knew it would take quite the woman to get underneath that hard exterior where his wounded heart lays. There With You was sweet, emotional, funny, and had that wonderful feel-good factor as well as moments of exhilarating drama-filled suspense. We are so in love with this series. The stories are compelling, the scenery wonderful and so descriptive we feel as though we’re in the Scottish Highlands, such is the vivid and picturesque imagery written by Samantha Young. The characters are brilliant and relatable, you cannot help falling in love with them. Whilst There With You can be read as a standalone, we highly recommend reading the series in its entirety. It’s not only a great series, but you’ll also forge a deep connection with all the characters and feel a part of the Adair family. The depth of the characters and their individual backgrounds cements an all-encompassing love and personal interest. You do not want to miss out on that!

‘This…this with Thane, though, I’d remember forever. I wasn’t vulnerable at all. I was relieved. That I’d found him. This beautiful, kind, funny, sexy, sometimes irritating, emotionally suppressed Scotsman whose love for his children only made me adore him more.’

Thane Adair is literally bowled over by the younger and magnificent Regan Penhaligon; the wayward and impulsive sister of Robyn who surprisingly turns up to make amends. Resolving her relationship with her sister is however not the only reason Regan has turned up, she’s also running into hiding from a psycho stalker. There’s almost an immediate chemistry between Thane and Regan, which is only intensified when she becomes the live-in nanny for his gorgeous kiddies. Their romance was drama-filled, angsty and so swoony and hot. Their banter was fabulous, the interactions with Thane’s children, adorable. Knowing what we did about Regan from the previous book, we were completely surprised by her character, and as we got to know her, we fell in love with her spirit, her quiet lioness personality as well as her loyalty and fierce love. Regarding, Thane, well it’s always the quiet ones, right?! Yummy-luscious doesn’t begin to cover it *wink wink*. Talk about sexual chemistry! Without question, this series is just getting better and better. Bring on the next Adair book, we’re more than ready for it, and cannot wait!

Oh my goodness!!! I loved every single moment of this!!
EPIC!!!
I wasn’t sure I would like Regan. Especially after all of what we learn about her from her sister Robyn in Here With Me… but wow what a progression of character development!!
She is an amazing character to read and I loved following her throughout this book.
There With You brings us back to Ardnoch right after Here With Me. Yet we are meeting and getting to know Regan.
I loved being able to read in Regans and Thanes POV. Being in their heads brings you so deep into the story.

This story was fantastic!! It was hot and steamy and so sweet!! My heart melted at Eilidh and Lewis and the unconditional love they have for Regan.. which she returns to them tenfold!!

Just brilliantly written.. capturing you with such dynamic characters that draw you in their captivating story allowing you to get lost in the pages of an enchanting romance!!

"She was too young for him.
Not to mention his brother's soon-to-be sister-in-law.
And he was her boss."

Ahhh, how I LOVED coming back to this Adair family world! Here With Me has been one of my top reads of 2021 and after all the hoopla that went down at the end, I could not wait to get my grabby hands on all things THANE!! Like Regan, the single dad trope is one of my very favorites. And combine that with said single dad hooking up with the nanny in a secret lovers trope and I'm a goner!!

"Regan was trouble.
But only because he wanted her.
Like really, really was seriously lusting after her.
His nanny.
His brother’s soon-to-be sister-in-law.
His employee, thirteen years his junior.
Never again, he vowed."

Going into this book, I really didn't know how I was going to feel about Regan, as she came across as a very immature, spoiled, and selfish little sister in the last book. However, I thought the author did a great job of leading the reader through Regan's characterization and her issues, and watching her work through these issues. I did feel that because of this, the love story doesn't REALLY come alive until the second half of the book. And also, while I understood that this page time was needed for the character and the story, I found myself getting kind of bored a few times during the first half of the book.

Regan has just arrived in Scotland to try to patch things up with her sister. Thane is one of Lachlan's brothers, and the one he is closest to. He is a widower with two small (adorable!!) children. While Regan is struggling to find temporary employment in the small town of Ardnoch, Thane is desperately searching for a live-in nanny. It helps that Thane's children adore Regan, so before long, she is offered the position of live-in nanny to Lewis and Eilidh.

From there, the push and pull, longing, and sexual tension between these two is downright explosive. Regan wants to stop acting impulsively. Thane wants to do right by his children and do the honorable thing.

But, before long, all that shit goes out the window!

"This is madness."
"The let's just be mad."

ae2a157564d87ce366c01efea67fdfd8

Like I said earlier, the love story comes alive during the second half of this book and I could not put it down once it did. As is becoming a theme in this series too, there is a suspense storyline that I really enjoyed and kept me guessing up until the end.

I totally "got" and felt the turmoil between Thane and Regan. The reasons that kept them apart. They were very real and true to the characters and not just manufactured as is so often seen with romance novels.

I freaking loved Regan in the end and how she stood up for the person she wanted to be and the things she wanted.

"Do you know?" Regan asked, half yelling, half crying. "Do you know what it's like to love someone this much and have them only want this one thing from you?"

Such a fantastic and satisfying ending. (Sigh...)

Did I love There With You as much as Here With Me? Not quite, but it was still a fantastic story that stood apart from the first book, and shows that this Adair Family series is going to be a solid one all the way through.

And btw, I will be over here chomping at the bit until it's time for Always You! I am SO here for all things Arro and Mac, ALL THE THINGS!!!!! I can't wait!

"Happy here?"
"I'm happy wherever I am, as long as I'm there with you."
