The Q&A posts list show likes for the first post of the thread. However it sounds more than 95% posts do not have likes for the first post as it is normally the question post. Typically likes are for good answers.
As the image shows and anyone can take a look at the list, first post seldom gets likes and that count is invariably 0. So showing it serves no purpose.
Request AppSheet community portal team to explore if cumulative likes of a post thread can be shown. More cumulative likes will show that the post thread is interesting.
The previous community portal used to show cumulative likes of a post thread.
Thanks @Suvrutt_Gurjar we are going to implement this as you suggested. Aiming to get it updated at the end of April. FYI @Michelle
Thank you very much @AndrewB . I appreciate.
I'd love to know why this wasn't implemented from day one, @AndrewB .
This is still in POC phase, working through page speed implications. We are aiming for this month, but not if it has a negative impact on load times.
Hi @AndrewB ,
Just checking if you have any updates? If cumulative likes are not feasible, you may want to do away with showing likes of the first post, as it practically serves no purpose.
Hi @AndrewB ,
Thank you very much for the updates. I am confident that, you all being from Google team , a company that has pioneered so much in technology world, can do it. Especially if the previous community portal could do it.
Addition of cumulative likes and avatars of recent 4 to 5 posters of a post thread in post summary will go a long way in improving the user experience. Will request you to treat these as priority items.
If for some reason, your testing still shows load time impacts, my request will be to remove the likes in "Q&A" post summary, as currently that attribute does not serve any purpose.
