New Balance's 990v6 ‘Pale Yellow is the last great summer sneaker of the year

Well, what a season it's been for New Balance. From big collections to even bigger collabs, hype surrounding the Boston-based sportswear company has skyrocketed over the past three months. And now, just as the days are about to get shorter and the nights are about to get longer, NB is ending summer with a bang with the New Balance 990v6 ‘Pale Yellow.’

Dropping as part of Teddy Santis' coveted ‘Made in USA’ collection, this trainer works on top of a soft yellow mesh base and is overlaid by panels of genuine leather and pigskin suede. Dark green accents feature across the lacing system, tongue, and “N” logo, and to the lateral heel, you'll find the “990” model number that's been stamped in silver foil for an archival aesthetic.

Underfoot, the highly-sculpted midsole is dipped in white and grey shades, and it's infused with New Balance's signature Encap foam for extra comfort and cushioning. The ‘Pale Yellow’ is then finished with ‘Made in USA’ printed around the back, just to remind you that this sneaker was, indeed, made in Uncle Sam's Country. (“Alexa, play Bruce Springsteen on Spotify”).

Even though the 990v6 is a relatively new silhouette (having only been introduced back in December of last year), it has already made quite a mark on the sneakerverse. Back in April, famed rapper/chef/wrestler/television presenter Action Bronson cooked up his own pair, and just last week, Japanese streetwear label Wtaps revealed its own pair that's both understated and over-branded.
