Ahead of United's home clash against Watford this weekend, Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney talked to British GQ for a Facebook Live chat at Old Trafford.

José Mourinho's men currently lie sixth-place in the Premier League and will be hoping to secure their first piece of silverware this season when they take on Southampton in the EFL Cup final on Sunday 26 February. We talked to Wayne to discuss the United boss, the current season and everything that goes on in the changing room.

Here are the highlights:

On José Mourinho

He’s obviously a top manager - all of the clubs he’s been at show that. He knows what he wants from the players and the players know what the manager wants from them. As long as you do what he wants, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

On what Mourinho has brought to United

You can see he's got a winning mentality. Not that we didn’t have that already, but he certainly reminded us of it.

On the current season

I think it’s going okay. We’re in a good position in terms of making the top four. Obviously our ambition is to try and be champions, which would be difficult now. We know that. But we’re right there in terms of trying to place ourselves in the top four.

On the atmosphere in the changing room during United's 17-game unbeaten run

It’s always good when you go on a good run. The dressing room was good and it’s still good now. It’s important to feel disappointed when you don’t win, but it’s also important to be upbeat and be ready for the next game. But in terms of the unbeaten run, it’s a happy dressing room.

On what he hopes United achieves at the end of the season

The Europa League - to be in the final, obviously. Also the League Cup and the FA Cup. They’re trophies we believe we’re strong enough to go on and win.

On what his favourite trophy has been

I’d probably say the first Premier League [title]. It’s the one where at the time Chelsea looked like they were going to win the league, and we stopped that, and then we went on a run after that for three or four seasons. To win the first Premier League was a special moment.

On the new TAG Heuer Manchester United Watch Collection

Yeah I think it’s very nice - it’s obviously exciting for the players as well as the fans to see the new watch. It’s very trendy and it’s something which the players can now wear and enjoy.
