Sausage Party might be a disturbingly hilarious movie, but its stars are taking promoting the animated film pretty seriously.
We know that because at its Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday night, the biggest names attached to the film showed up to the red carpet in suits. Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen, and Nick Kroll—who all lend their voices to CGI characters in the movie—each took the opportunity to wear sharply tailored clothing. But instead of the boring gray and navy suits that can dominate other cinematic affairs, these guys took the edge off of their kits with color, pattern, and other little details. It's a handy reminder that it doesn't take much to turn the volume on your favorite suit up to 11. See what we mean below.
The ageless actor donned a blue suit and striped tie from David Hart, shoes from Jimmy Choo, and a pocket square from The Tie Bar. He swapped navy for a brighter blue, and both his shirt and pocket square are pink. It's a color combination that works just as well on an adult as it does in a nursery school.
The thing that separates this gray suit from the one your local CPA wears to work every day is that it fits Rogen well (notice that he's not wearing a belt, which indicates a pretty precisely made pair of trousers) and its lapels are razor-thin. These are details that keep the look young and modern, and align well with the actor's trim frame. (The equally slim tie and pocket square also come from The Tie Bar.)
A khaki cotton suit is the standard summer go-to for a lot of guys, but Kroll's is anything but boilerplate. His features a bold peak lapel and trousers that have been tailored to fit really close to the comedian's legs.
