While Bonnie Bennett might not have been the main protagonist of The Vampire Diaries, these are all the times that she emerged as the real hero of Mystic Falls

Note: Spoilers ahead!

An extraordinary witch with remarkable powers, Bonnie Bennett was undeniably one of the most loved characters of popular supernatural teen drama The Vampire Dairies. Played by Kat Graham, her character emerged to be really influential and iconic throughout the show. Fierce, determined, and a loyal friend, Bonnie Bennett always saved the day and was not only there for her friends but also the entire town of Mystic Falls. Even after years of the show’s end, fans still look back and praise the character for her dauntless attitude.

From fighting the Original family to evil warlocks and the Devil himself, we have rounded up our best Bonnie Bennett moments- every time she proved to be the unsung hero of the show. Phesmatos Incendia, it’s time to cue the Bonnie Bennett supremacy!

When She Stood Up Against The Vampires

At the beginning of the show, right from when Bonnie learns of her magical roots, she takes a stand against the vampires and aims to protect the town from them at all costs. She fiercely stands her ground no matter what situation she finds herself in or despite repeated threats from Damon and the notorious “tomb” vampires. Even though her equation with Enzo and Damon in the later seasons seems contradictory to this stance of hers, she remains a passionately protective person who saves the town from the fears of the fangs time and again, throughout the series.

When She Took On The Originals

I

While Klaus might have emerged as one of the most loved anti-heroes of the fictional universe, when he first made an appearance on The Vampire Diaries, he was dangerous and absolute evil. Bonnie, however, did not back down and made it her mission to fight him as well as the entire Original family, even though she was well aware of her lack of experience and the accompanying threats. Thanks to her determination and self-belief, she almost succeeded too.

When She Sacrificed Herself For Her Friends

I

Every time Elena Gilbert or the Salvatore brothers found themselves in a new supernatural dilemma, Bonnie Bennett was the first person that they resorted to for help. So did all of their friends and Bonnie would always be willing to put herself in harm's way to help them all. She was an absolute saviour, always saving her friends and the entire town. However, in a bid to do so, she often lost her close ones and even ended up sacrificing herself way too many times. By the end of the show, we see a beautiful development as she chooses to prioritize herself and her happiness while also saving the day, yet again.

When She Banished Kai Parker

I

Yet another nefarious antagonist of the TVD universe, Kai Parker betrayed and tortured Bonnie several times in the Prison World. Even though he apologizes to Bonnie after he goes through some transformation and instils a sense of compassion, the confident witch does not let that blind her of all his ill-doings. She recognizes his potential to emerge as a major threat to the covens, the humans, and herself and decides on banishing him once and for all. With this, she also emerges as her own hero- a woman who takes a stand for herself against all odds.

When She Fought The Devil And The Hell Fire

In the final season of the series, hell comes to Mystic Falls and so does the devil himself. Bonnie makes it a point to defeat Arcadius, the devil, and destroy hell even though she struggles with her powers throughout the season. Rounding up Bonnie’s character arc in the best way, the series ends with Bonnie fighting the hellfire and saving the entire town. The entire scene of her doing so is sure to give one goosebumps and hereby prove that the Bennett witch is perhaps an incredibly strong woman who always fought for what she believed in.
