Neil Woods was the man in charge of Grimsby Town as they headed for their Lincolnshire FA County Senior Cup semi-final clash against Boston United.
The Academy Manager took a young Mariners side to the Jakemans Stadium where a place in the final of the pre-season competition was up for grabs.
And, although the game ended in defeat for them, Town's up and coming stars gave a good account of themselves against their more experienced opponents.
With the first team only recently arriving back from their tour of Devon, Woods took charge of a team made up mostly of Town's Youth Team.
Jack Keeble, who turned professional back in April, captained the side, with fellow young pro Tom Sawyer also among the Mariners squad.
Meanwhile, Max Wright got another chance to impress as he hunts down a new deal after being invited back for pre-season training.
