On Sunday, January 24, 2021, David M Charles, loving husband, father and brother, passed away at the age of 66.
David was born on December 18, 1954 in Corpus Christi Texas to Felix and Elida Charles. He joined the U.S. Army in 1974 where he was an Army Tank Mechanic, for two years until he was honorably discharged in 1976. He continued his work as a mechanic from 1992 where he worked at The Regional Transportation Authority, working on buses and the Corpus Christi Army Depot, where he worked on helicopters until his retirement in 2015.
In 1976 he married the first love of his life, Susan Lynch where he became a beloved step-father to two little girls, Priscilla and Lori Lynch and were happily married for 10 years until Susan passed away in 1986, and he became a widow.
Six months later he met another widow Sylvia Ramirez, and became the second love of his life and step-father to three more girls, Veronica, Barbara and Jessica Ramirez. Later having two girls of his own, Melissa and Ashley.
David loved football and basketball. His favorite teams were the Cowboys and the Spurs. He was also an avid music lover, the Beatles, Sytx, and Elvis prestly were a few of his favorites. He also loved to karaoke and sing his idol Elvis greatest hits. When he wasn’t Karaoking you could find him with his friends and family around a table and playing poker. He was known for making people laugh, cry, mad, and happy with his vivacious spirit.
David is survived by his wife, Sylvia; his six girls: Priscilla, Veronica, Barbara, Jessica, Melissa and Ashley. His Brother Felix Charles; his two sisters: Diana Gonzalez, and Patricia Leyba; his son-in law Robert Canales and several cousins, nieces and nephews that will miss him greatly.
A service will be held on Thursday January 27, 2021 at the Guardian Funeral Home at 3 pm with Full Military Honors.
