Frequently Asked Questions

We have been frequently asked various types of questions by our customers, e.g What is the most popular color for gutters? Should gutters match the roof or house? What is the best color combination for gutters and roofs? How do I choose guttering? And many more, as when someone is going to get gutters installed in their house, they want to make sure the material and color they are going to pick are the best choices. There are various factors which contribute into selecting the material and color but some is based on the customer’s taste and area they live in. We are happy that you are trying to do some research to make a best decision about choosing gutters. But in any way you have a question, we can give you a professional answer!

Choosing the right gutter color is an important decision that can significantly impact your home’s curb appeal. Since everyone has their own taste and choice, in our view, a color that blends with the exterior of your house is a better choice. There are some other factors you can consider while choosing the right gutter color for you:

1. Consider the Roof Color

Complementary Colors: Choose a gutter color that complements your roof. If your roof is dark, like black or charcoal, a similarly dark gutter color can create a cohesive look. Lighter roofs, such as beige or gray, pair well with lighter gutter colors.
Matching Roof Colors: Some homeowners prefer to match the gutters to the roof color to create a seamless appearance, making the gutters less noticeable.

2. Coordinate with Trim and Siding

Matching the Trim: Gutters that match the trim of your home can create a unified look. If your trim is white, white gutters can blend in seamlessly.
Contrast with Siding: Alternatively, you can choose a gutter color that contrasts with your siding to make them stand out as a design feature. For instance, dark gutters on light siding or vice versa can add visual interest.

3. Consider the Architectural Style

Traditional Homes: Classic colors like white, black, or gray are timeless and work well with traditional home designs.
Modern Homes: For a modern home, you might opt for sleek, monochromatic colors that match the overall minimalistic aesthetic.

4. Assess the Surroundings

Natural Environment: Take into account the colors in your landscape. If your home is surrounded by lush greenery, earthy tones like browns and greens can help the gutters blend with the natural surroundings.
Neighborhood Trends: Look at other homes in your neighborhood. While you want your home to stand out, it should also harmonize with the surrounding houses.

5. Long-Term Maintenance

Dirt Visibility: Darker colors may show less dirt and require less frequent cleaning, while lighter colors can highlight dirt and stains more easily.
Material Options: Some gutter materials come in specific colors, so your material choice may limit your color options.

By considering these factors, you can choose a gutter color that enhances your home’s aesthetic and fits your style preferences.

Yes, colored gutters are generally more expensive than white gutters. The price difference is due to several factors:

1. Material and Finish

Standard White Gutters: White is often the standard color for gutters, especially in materials like aluminum. Since white gutters are produced in larger quantities, they tend to be more affordable.
Custom Colors: Colored gutters often require special finishes or coatings, which can increase production costs. These custom finishes might also provide added benefits like UV protection or enhanced durability, contributing to the higher price.

2. Availability

Limited Availability: White gutters are widely available and typically in stock, which keeps costs down. Colored gutters may need to be special-ordered, which can drive up the price.
Custom Orders: If the color you desire is not a standard option, you may need to place a custom order, which can be significantly more expensive.

3. Installation Costs

Matching Accessories: If you choose colored gutters, you may also want matching downspouts, brackets, and other accessories. These matching components can also be more expensive than their standard white counterparts.
Complexity of Installation: Installing colored gutters might require more care to avoid damaging the finish, potentially leading to higher labor costs.

4. Long-Term Value

Curb Appeal: While colored gutters may have a higher upfront cost, they can enhance your home’s curb appeal and potentially increase its resale value.
Maintenance Considerations: Some colored gutters, particularly those with high-quality finishes, might be more resistant to fading, chipping, or corrosion, potentially offering better long-term value despite the higher initial cost.

Overall, while white gutters are typically the most economical option, investing in colored gutters can provide aesthetic and long-term benefits that might justify the additional expense.

The most popular color for gutters is white. But in some neighborhoods, trends can change what’s the most popular color in that specific area. So what makes white the most popular color choice for gutters? We have gathered some factors that contribute to its popularity:

1. Versatility

Matches Most Home Exteriors: White is a neutral color that complements nearly any exterior color scheme, making it a safe and popular choice for many homeowners.
Blends with Trim: Many homes have white trim, and white gutters can seamlessly blend with the trim, providing a cohesive look.

2. Availability

Standard Option: White is often the default color for gutter systems, especially in materials like aluminum. It’s widely available, which makes it more accessible and often more affordable.

3. Reflects Heat

Helps with Temperature Control: White gutters reflect sunlight, which can help in reducing heat absorption, particularly in hot climates. This can be a minor benefit in terms of energy efficiency.

4. Timeless Appeal

Classic Look: White is a classic color that never goes out of style. It’s a timeless choice that works well with both traditional and modern architectural styles.

5. Neutral Background

Discreet Appearance: White gutters tend to be less noticeable, allowing other architectural features of the home to stand out.
