Vintage Opalite Floating Opal Pendant and Earrings in Original Box. The natural opal chips in this set are lovely, with beautiful play of color in red, green, and blue. The chips are in teardrop shaped glass orbs filled with glycerin. This set dates to the 1940s and was purchased from an estate in its original brocade box with satin and velvet lining. The box lining reads "Opalite "Gem With The Burning Heart" and has the original foil tag reading "1/20-12 Kt. Gold Filled Genuine Opals". All three pieces have four petaled tulip caps in 1/20 12K Gold Filled.
The pendant has a diameter of 13.5 mm and is 32 mm long, including the fold over bale, suspended from a 16" rolo chain. The earrings are 10.2 mm x 32 mm long to the top of the flowers. The earrings have screw backs.
All three pieces are marked 1/20 12K G.F.
In Excellent Vintage Condition, with no damage, no glycerin loss, and no bubbles. The original pendant chain is missing and has been replaced with a base metal chain. We will also send a new gold-filled chain that suits the pendant well.
