History Of Shree Siddhivinayak Temple

Shree Siddhivinayak Temple was constructed on 19 November 1801. The Siddhivinayak Temple the original building was a little 3.6 x 3.6 m square brick building with a brick shikhara in the shape of a dome. Contractor Laxman Vithu Patil constructed the temple. Deubai Patil, a rich Agri lady, provided the money for the construction. Deaubai constructed the temple for Ganesha to bestow children on other infertile women because she was childless owing to infertility. Local lore claims that Ramakrishna Jambhekar Maharaj, an ardent devotee of the Hindu saint Akkalkot Swami Samarth, buried two idols in front of the Siddhivinayak statue at the guru's orders. 21 years after these two idols were buried, as Swami Samarth had predicted, a Mandar tree began to grow there. The tree had a picture of Svayambhu Ganesha on its branches.
