How will the new 8-class realignment impact your school's title hopes? A deep dive into postseason success

The N.C. High School Athletic Association has its first look at the Average Daily Membership numbers for the 2024-2025 school year, the enrollment figures it will use to determine the upcoming realignment. In 2025-29, the top 32 schools will be in 8A, while 1A through 7A will receive an even split of the rest.

The upcoming alignment will be based solely on ADM numbers, unlike the current alignment. The 2021-25 alignment used ADM numbers, but also factored in each school's Wells Fargo Cup points (which measured postseason success across all sports) and the ISP numbers, which indicates the amount of government assistance a school population receives (because socioeconomic factors have strong correlation to overall athletic success).

Below, we've listed every NCHSAA member school in its expected new classification, sorting them by their average Wells Fargo Cup points average from the last three years. Schools who do not have three years' worth of data were listed as "N/A."

This gives some insight into which schools would be best suited to excel in their new classes across multiple sports.
