ROBERT WEBBER
The aged TV and film actor signs his name on this black and white photograph of himself
Inscribed photograph signed: "Regards To/Pedro/Robert Webber". B/w, 8x10 overall, image 7½x9 (one surface). Photograph by Timothy Galfas. Stage, screen and television actor Robert Webber (1924-1989) made his Broadway debut in 1948, two years before he appeared in his first film, Highway 101, in 1950. After being cast as Juror Number 12 in the film version of Twelve Angry Men (1957), Webber would shine as a character actor over the next four decades. His films included The Sandpiper (1965), Harper (1966), The Dirty Dozen (1967), Midway (1976), The Choirboys (1977), The Revenge of the Pink Panther (1978), 10 (1979), Private Benjamin (1980), S.O.B. (1981) and Nuts (1987). Webber, who began appearing on television in early anthologies (from 1950), is best known to small screen audiences as Alexander Hayes, the father of Madelyn "Maddie" Hayes, on the TV series, Moonlighting. He also made a number of TV movies and guest starred on a long list of TV series, from comedies to dramas to Westerns. Ink slightly beaded. Lightly creased at upper right margin and corner, light black marks at upper and lower right edges. Fine condition.
