Jaime Camil (Jane the Virgin) and Sandra Echeverria are set to star in My Boyfriend’s Meds, a comedy from Lionsgate and Televisa‘s Pantelion Films, Fuego Films and Traziende Films.
Jason Alexander, Brooke Shields, Brian Baumgartner, Ana Belena and Kevin Holt have also boarded the ensemble cast of the indie pic from director Diego Kaplan and screenwriters Gary Marks and Randi Mayem Singer.
In the pic, Echeverria plays Jess, a talented, high-powered marketing executive who falls for Hank (Camil), a charming mattress store owner she meets while shopping for a new mattress.
My Boyfriend’s Meds is being produced by Jay Weisleder and Ben Silverman and executive produced by Camil, Leo Zimbron and Monica Vargas.
Camil is best known for playing Rogelio de la Vega, the telenovela star and Gina Rodriguez’s father on The CW’s Jane the Virgin. Most recently, he lent his voice for the character Chupacabra in Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.
Echeverria recently starred in the film comedy Mas Sabe el Diablo por Viejo and on the Telemundo series La Querida del Centauro, and lent her voice to the character of Maria, the heroine in The Secret Life of Pets.
Pantelion Films produced Instructions Not Included, the 2013 Mexican comedy considered the most successful Spanish-language film ever, having grossed nearly $100 million worldwide.
