Thanks for visiting our website about our wonderful holiday home in St Fillans, on Loch Earn in Perthshire in the Scottish Highlands, situated in a slightly elevated position above the loch, with wonderful views from the living room, dining room and bedrooms over the water and the hills.
SPRING, SUMMER AND AUTUMN – July and August are peak months so if you’re not restricted to school holidays, think about May or June or September, or April, when the days are getting longer and everything is coming back to life. We are surrounded by trees, and the autumn colours in October and well into November are wonderful. Usually, we only do Saturday to Saturday lets during April – October but can sometimes do part weeks – call us on 07850 660378 to ask.
WINTER – Fortrenn is great all year round, and over the winter months short breaks are available of 3 nights or more, as well as weekly lets. The house has central heating and we also have log fires in the living room and dining room.

Fortrenn is a special house in a special location. The house was built in an Arts and Crafts style in 1902, a few years after the arrival of the railway to this part of Scotland. The house is a Listed Building and has character in every room and every corner. If you are interested in design, or appreciate a beautiful home, or you want to get on the loch, or go walking, or cycling, or you just want to relax in a lovely home in a stunning location – or all of these – then we might be ideal for you.
The house is set a little up the hill above Loch Earn, with beautiful views up, down and across the loch to the steep hills opposite. All the rooms to the loch side of the house enjoy wonderful views.
Step outside onto a lovely small terrace at first floor level, or go down to a very large wooden decking, private but with open views over the loch.
On the hill side of the house there is a lovely grassy garden surrounded by woodland, again with marvellous views.
Accommodation and Facilities
Fortrenn has old style beauty combined with modern comfort. So you will find a gramophone as well as music over wifi; an old valve wireless as well as a Samsung Frame smart TV; open fires as well as remotely controllable central heating.
Accommodation – Lounge, dining room, kitchen and pantry, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a games room with desk. Outside terrace, large deck, and grassy garden.
