An Israeli-born Dutch singer/songwriter with an atmospheric, folk-influenced sound, Dotan Harpenau, who operates under the mononym Dotan, found mainstream success in 2014 with the release of his double-platinum-selling sophomore effort, 7 Layers. Born in 1986 in Jerusalem to a Dutch mother and Israeli father, Dotan grew up in Amsterdam, where he lived with his mother after his parents' divorce.
