Poor Quality Control on What Could've Been NiceLanceChair is comfortable - I loved the in store model - but I've built it twice now and I'm annoyed. The back of the first was incredibly crooked at its connection point to the frame, so I returned to the store and exchanged it. Took about 40 minutes at the store, plus the 30 there and 30 back. Got the new one home - and then the bottom AND back are crooked! Not as bad as the first, but I see it every time I look at the chair. Why should I have to return and rebuild this a third time, wasting all that time and gas, for a product this expensive?1
Love this!RoxanneThis chair is very comfortable. Glad we made the investment.5
Review after 6 years of useTweshI bought this chair back in 2018 and have used it regularly everyday since then. As a full remote worker, a comfortable chair is an essential tool. I’ve seen and sat in chairs 3x the price but I love sturdiness and consistent comfort of this chair. It still feels as comfortable as it did the first day. The leather is really good quality and has aged very nicely. I don’t ever write product reviews but I thought i would take a moment to share my positive review of this one. 5
Nice lightweight office chair!MaggieThis is a cute, comfy home office chair, with good ergonomics for proper posture while working on laptop. Assembly was quick and easy. Light brown leather is soft and sleek. The only adjustment for me is getting used to rolling chair around when not sitting in it, because wheels are somewhat locked up - but that’s a safety thing, and no biggie! This chair is a lovely upgrade in our home! Thank you IKEA. 5
Awesome BorisI feel this was 100 percent worth its price. It’s beautiful and comfortable. 5
Great Chair! JamesChair is very well made and comfortable. It was easy to assemble and came with all needed for assembly. The 10 year warranty is a plus. While it was expensive, I believe you get what you pay for.5
I likeRichardReally good assembly and quality 5
Great chair, minor fixesSannaSitting down for extended periods of time makes my back hurt so wanted to invest in a good chair when working on my thesis. This has indeed been a great chair to sit in for longer, although I still get some back pain (not due to any deficiency to the chair).
I have a couple of minor complaints thus far: firstly, the wheels are almost too smooth, and since our office floor is a little crooked, the chair doesn't stay in its place but rather slides off from the desired position behind my desk, even when I sit in it. It would be nice if the wheels had a locking mechanism that functioned sitting down as well.
I also noticed people mention that the adjustment knob in the back rest wasn't functioning properly, and I also had this problem initially. However, I noticed that if you push on the back rest while you adjust the knob, it'll fully lodge into the screw hole. Seems to have fixed it!4
good qualityConnieSitting very comfortable 4
Looks good but not the best everyday office chairAaronAfter 3 years of ownership the two big problems I have with this chair are the casters and the lumbar support.
The lumbar support is too low even with the back in its highest position. I'm 5ft 9in and the lumbar is about 4 inches lower than where it needs to be causing me to lean forward most of the day and create soreness/fatigue in my shoulders and upper back.
Secondly, the casters are made to lock in place if there is no weight on the chair. So after you get up it's hard to push the chair under the table. Now after 3 years of use the casters no longer roll freely even with my weight on the chair so I have to hold my table to push or pull my chair into the position I want.
All in all I wish I could return this and buy another2
Almost greatJohnThe chair feels high quality, smoothly reclines, no creaks or noises. I have not had any problems with the back or seat sliding out of position, they are secure for me. It was simple to put together. The cushion is firm but comfortable. Wheels roll smoothly.
However, almost a GREAT chair, aside from the nonsensical convex hump in the back cushion that's trying to be "lumbar support". I'm 5'10 and this hump juts into the small of my back, pushing me forward, so I can't fully sit into the chair which makes my back tired. The chair would be a billion times more comfortable if the back was concave to cradle the back, like, you know, how chairs used to be before ergonomics crazytown. I just want a minimal chair that cradles my back, not juts into it like a balled up towel. At the very least, the back should go up higher so the hump can actually fit into my lumbar.
IKEA: Please reconsider the "lumbar hump" in this chair for your next iteration.3
Perfect.HelenQuality leather. Comfortable. Good looking. It's perfect.5
Very disappointedJuliaWhile this chair is stylish, it does not hold up to standard daily office use. After using this chair almost daily for 7 months, it has developed an extremely obnoxious loud squeaking sound (not fixable with WD40) every time you move the smallest amount. Additionally, one of the buttons on the seat popped off, out of nowhere. Of course, this happened about a week after the "return after opening" day count. This chair costs a lot of money for the quality [you don't] get. Very disappointed and don't think it's worth the price. Buyer beware.1
Office chair for home officeWillieLove the color and leather that matches perfectly the blue Alex desk that I bought for my home office.5
Great but FLAWEDRicardoI bought this chair about 3 years ago. I LOVED it, however it had one flaw from day one. The bolt that holds the back/lumbar support in place would loosen and the back would slide down. Over and over again, I would have to re-tighten it to hold it in place. An annoyance, but not a deal-killer. But then, just recently, the bolt's threads became stripped and now it won't even stay in the chair. For such an expensive chair, I would expect a better system to adjust the back. The rest is perfect.2
Comfy and sturdyLeslieI am loving this chair so far! I've used it for a week for work at the computer. The material is soft and my skin doesn't stick to it. I'm happy with the quality.5
Great Office Chair for shorter peopleLisaLove the color! Definitely comfortable to sit in for hours. I wished the bottom would come out a little more. I am 5’4” and it’s a little short for my legs. However I have a bigger butt than most. I’ve had it for a few months and it looks just the same as the day we bought it.4
Noisy and uncomfortableGaetanThe lumbar support is way too big and too firm for me, causing back pain. It is also very noisy/squeaky. The reclining strength is not adjustable, so that's useless too for me (too loose). I'm just beyond the 180 days, otherwise I'd return it.1
SplurgedJoannThe cost of this chair made me question my decision at first but it is so comfortable and sturdy. It was very easy to put together for IKEA and a beautiful, comfortable office chair.5
very comfortableYinghsuanThe wheel is easy to move, and the cushion is very comfortable. This chair is beautiful than it is in the photo.5
