- A group of amateur detectives sets out to expose The Crooked Circle, a secretive group of hooded occultists.
- Tim (Tim Ryan) has written what he thinks is a great skit about Antony and Cleopatra for the department store's annual employee show, but the boss insists on his goofy daughter (Irene Ryan) playing Cleopatra opposite Tim's Antony.
- A prominent banker commits suicide. His son thinks otherwise and sets out to prove it.
- Tim has just been promoted to sales manager and his boss says he will be out to visit Tim and Irene in their new country home to see how his employees live. But Irene's wacky family----Ma, Pa and Brother---have moved in with them and converted the home into a hotel.

Knowing only that the server is bald-headed he heads for the bride's home where the marriage ceremony will be held. He has two friends on guard with instructions to stop a bald-headed man. As a result, the bride's father, a judge who was to perform the ceremony and several other innocents are locked into a closet by Ernest's strong-arm friends.
- Professor Pierre is assigned to find a missing heiress whose million-dollar fortune will go to a worthless relative if she isn't found by midnight.
- Dovie applies for a loan tries to conceal the birth of his twins. Burt agrees to help and causes chaos with his own fiancee and her father, who believe Burt is the father.
- Crooner Jimmy Carter finds himself stalked by aviatrix-chanteuse Sylvia Markwell. Against their wishes, Carter's manager Sammy fabricates a romance between the singers for publicity. Sylvia flies back to America unaware that Jimmy has done the same thing.
- Charles Kemper, a contest-entering nut, is engaged to be married, but his prospective father-in-law, a dour Scotsman, won't allow the wedding until he hears Kemper has won a contest. But it is called off when the company holding the contest tricks Kemper into signing a quit-claim waiver. He enters and wins another contest and the wedding takes place, but the bill-paying father-in-law is dismayed when he finds out the prize was only a tooth brush.
- A drunk man in a bar sells another man a ghost. Spooky hi-jinx ensue when the ghost follows him to meet his girlfriend's father.
- Buster West and Tom Patricola are understudies in a melodrama but the star has them fired. They try for a job at a film studio and the producer says he is looking for a romantic-type who can fight. Tom instantly appoints himself Buster's manager an arranges for a prizefight to show off Buster's fighting abilities. The movie producer signs Buster's opponent.
