In The Force Awakens, Kylo Ren speaks to Darth Vader's mask. "I will finish what you started," Ren says in the film. In a way, that applies to actors as well. Like James Earl Jones before him, Adam Driver served his country admirably.
After the September 11th terrorist attacks, Driver chose to enlist in the United Marine Corps. He served for two years before an injury to his sternum forced him to be medically discharged. His final rank while in the service was Lance Corporal. Since Driver began to garner worldwide acclaim for his acting, he has continued to work and support military causes.
He founded the organization Arts in the Armed Forces, a cause that was to bring art programs to military members and their families. The organization was active from 2006 to 2023. While active and following the release of The Rise of Skywalker, fans donated over $90,000 dollars to the organization.

Grant Gustin was the definitive Flash for a generation of DC fans when he starred in the CW’s The Flash. As part of the network’s Arrowverse group of shows, Gustin made his first appearance in Arrow, which served as a backdoor pilot for his own series. The show saw him tackle many antagonists as the fastest man alive.
While Eobard Thawne a.k.a Reverse Flash is Allen’s primary antagonist, season 2 of the series saw the appearance of Zoom, an evil speedster who is a serial killer before gaining abilities. Though physically performed by Teddy Sears, Tony Todd reportedly gave the character his menacing voice.

When a sitcom runs for upwards of 10 seasons or more, showrunners and their writing staffs have to get creative to keep things fresh (as any faithful "Cheers" fan could tell you). Actually, that's not entirely true. Depending on the audience, sometimes an endless string of celebrity cameos is enough to keep folks tuning in long after the novelty of the original hook has worn off.
It's probably not fair to say that a show as beloved as "The Big Bang Theory" relied heavily on splashy cameos to remain buzzworthy, but the rate at which the sitcom deployed them felt a tad shameless. Some of the one-and-done guest appearances made sense for the geek-skewing show -- e.g. Mark Hamill, James Earl Jones, and Leonard Nimoy were natural fits. On the other hand, "Big Bang Theory" guests like Jessica Walter, June Squibb, and Billy Bob Thornton seemed to come out of nowhere.

Tony Todd, an actor known for his strong roles in horror movies and science fiction shows, died at his home in Los Angeles on November 6. He was 69 years old.
Fatima, Todd’s wife, revealed that he had died after a long illness. The actor left a remarkable impact that spanned over four decades. He was in more than 200 movies and TV shows, which showed his versatility.
The scary part he played in the 1992 movie “Candyman” made Todd a major figure in the horror genre. His performance as Daniel Robitaille, a hanging victim whose ghost could be called by saying his name five times, showed how strong and good he was at acting.
“I got stung 23 times” while shooting “Candyman,” Todd once told The Guardian, which shows how dedicated he is to his job. “Everything worth making has to involve some sort of pain.”
Todd’s work included much more than scary movies.

Today, Disney released the final trailer for the upcoming “Mufasa: The Lion King” film. This live-action film is set to be a prequel to “The Lion King.”
This new story tells how Mufasa became the Lion King. Many have had some issues with the trailers indicating that Mufasa was an orphan, when in “The Lion King,” that did not seem to be the case. However, they might explain it in the movie.
Here is the Mufasa: The Lion King” trailer.
The film synopsis reads,
“Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline.

The Broadway League will no longer be involved in announcing the dimming of marquee lights to memorialize the deaths of performers, writers and other members of the Broadway community.
The announcements will now be made by an outside press spokesperson for the Broadway Theatre Owners Committee, the group of theater owners that oversees decisions regarding the light-dimming tributes. Previously, the group’s announcements were released by the League – the trade organization representing theater owners and producers – despite the fact that the League has no participation in the tribute process.
The shift follows recent controversies over the Committee’s decisions – since reversed – to dim lights at only select theaters (rather than all Broadway theaters) for the actors Gavin Creel and Adrian Bailey. Since those decisions were announced by the League’s in-house communications team as a service to the Owners Committee, the trade organization itself was associated in the public’s mind with the decision-making process.

Rachins died in his sleep of heart failure, his manager Mark Teitelbaum confirmed to Variety.
Rachins played lawyer Douglas Brackman Jr. on NBC’s “L.A. Law” for its entire eight-season run from 1986 to 1984, as well as in the 2002 made-for-tv film, “L.A. Law: The Movie.” He received nominations for a Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe in 1988 for his performance as Douglas.
“In the pilot episode, there was nothing of the more flamboyant or bizarre side of Douglas; he was going to be the hard-line office manager, the penny pincher,” Rachins said in a 1990 interview with The New York Times. “It was kind of limited, and I didn’t know where it was going. But quickly it developed a lot more color and flamboyance.”

Seth Rogen apologized for an uncomfortable situation (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Ah, Hollywood! Seth Rogen revisited an incident with Emma Watson from the production of This Is the End, which reminds us that sometimes, things don’t go as planned on set.
In this 2013 apocalypse comedy, Watson played a satirical version of herself amid a chaotic end-of-the-world scenario. But things got a bit too chaotic for Watson when a particular scene involving Channing Tatum in an instead compromising gimp outfit didn’t sit well with her. Rumors swirled that she “stormed off the set,” but Rogen wanted to set the record straight.
He took to social media, clarifying, “Emma Watson did not ‘storm off the set,’ and it’s shitty that the perception is that she did.” A fair point, Seth! He explained that the scene deviated significantly from what Watson had initially agreed to, citing last-minute improvisation that led to a script flip.

Was Mary Jane Watson almost removed from The Amazing Spider-Man 2? (Photo Credit – Netflix)
Mary Jane Watson was ready to strut her stuff in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. But she didn’t. Instead, she disappeared. Shailene Woodley wanted to bring that fiery redhead to life, but the final cut didn’t have her.
Now, let’s take a trip down memory lane. Mj first crashed the Marvel Comics party back in 1965—and nope, she wasn’t just another pretty face. She gave Gwen Stacy a severe run for her money! After Gwen’s exit, courtesy of the Green Goblin, Mj swooped in, ready to make sparks fly. Kirsten Dunst nailed it as Mj in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, while Zoë Kravitz brought her voice to life in Into the Spider-Verse.
When filming started for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in early 2013, everyone was splitting up about Woodley stepping into the redhead’s shoes.

Did Margot Robbie assault Sebastian Stan in I, Tonya? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Margot Robbie’s career took off with her breakout role in The Wolf of the Wall Street. She starred opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, and her portrayal of Naomi Lapaglia was the turning point that launched her into Hollywood’s A-list actors. However, I, Tonya, showcased her range and versatility as an actress.
In the biological dark comedy, Robbie played the role of Tonya Harding, displaying her complex, troubled life and the media frenzy surrounding her. Her role even earned her critical acclaim, including an Academy Award nomination. Despite that, it took a toll on her, leading her to punch a Marvel actor.
In a throwback interview with the Independent, the Barbie star revealed that she had to undergo weekly Mri scans due to a herniated disc in her neck. She admitted that she felt like she had “lost her mind.

Did Spider-Man reveal a majorly dark secret? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
In a shocking twist from the pages of comic history, Spider-Man revealed a dark childhood secret: he was abused by an older friend. This story, tucked away in the Spider-Man/Power Pack comic, was one of the most important and impactful PSAs about sexual abuse ever published. For years, it went unacknowledged, overshadowed by more mainstream superhero antics. But it’s high time we highlight this powerful narrative.
The comic cleverly split its focus, featuring Spider-Man and the Power Pack, each addressing different types of sexual abuse. While both stories were significant, Peter Parker’s tale struck the most profound chord. Young Peter, the skinny, bullied boy with glasses, was a relatable figure for many. His journey started with innocence, a friendship with an older boy named Skip that initially brought him joy amid his lonely, nerdy existence. But the...

Why did Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel face criticism? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Remember when Captain Marvel faced a wave of criticism even before hitting the big screen? Yeah, that controversy was wild. Brie Larson’s take on the iconic superhero sparked a massive backlash, and the movie hadn’t even premiered yet. One early reviewer labeled it “a complete disaster,” while another ranted about “Sjw nonsense,” using the now-infamous pejorative “social justice warrior.” But what stirred the pot? Let’s dive in.
Before the Release: The Build-Up of the Backlash
Over a month before its release, Captain Marvel was under fire from internet trolls. Brie Larson, who starred as the superhero made up headlines with her outspoken views on Hollywood’s diversity issues. She called for the movie to be “a big feminist movie” and pushed for more inclusive media coverage, vowing to seek out underrepresented journalists. Those statements? Troll fuel.

Chris Hemsworth Nearly Passed on Returning for Thor: Love and Thunder—Here’s the Surprising Reason Behind His Hesitation!(Photo Credit – YouTube)
Chris Hemsworth bailed on Thor: Love and Thunder. Can you blame him? The Aussie actor spilled the steaming tea on why he hesitated to suit up for round four. Looking back, he alluded that Love and Thunder didn’t precisely “stick the landing.”
In an interview, the actor was honest about his feelings during filming. “I became a parody of myself,” he asserted, discussing how the flick’s improv and wackiness went way too far. While Love and Thunder leaned heavy on humor, not everyone, including Hemsworth, was vibing with the shift. It felt like the film was trying too hard to be funny, and Hemsworth? Yeah, he noticed.
Directed by Taika Waititi, the film dropped in 2022 and tried to bring back the magic of Thor: Ragnarok.

The action spy films are based on the 1966 TV series created by Bruce Geller. The first film in the series came out in 1996, establishing Tom as an action star and making him a global sensation. It is one of the most popular franchises that Tom has led. They have grossed around $4.09 billion worldwide. Unfortunately, Mi 7, released in 2023, had an underwhelming performance at the box office. It suffered because of the films Barbie and Oppenheimer. They overshadowed every film, even Cruise’s Biggie. James Earl Jones Was Paid $7,500 For Original Star Wars Trilogy ( Photo Credit – Wikimedia )
In a galaxy far, far away, James Earl Jones, who gave voice to one of cinema’s most fearsome villains, Darth Vader, was paid a surprisingly small fee: $7,000. Yes, for just a single day of voice work on Star Wars, the actor received what seemed decent at the time—though only a fraction of what his co-stars earned.
The backstory? George Lucas had a vision. He needed a voice as iconic as the character—Vader, towering, masked, and carrying a voice that could shiver anyone to their core. British actor David Prowse brought the physicality, but Lucas wanted that deep, authoritative tone. Lucas even considered Orson Welles for the part, but he was just too recognizable. Then, Jones’s agent got a call. The rest is history.

"The Big Bang Theory" featured plenty of famous guest stars — like a bunch of "Star Trek" veterans, the late James Earl Jones, and Bob Newhart, just to name a few — but some celebrities either turned down the chance to be a part of Chuck Lorre's show or just missed the boat somehow. Macaulay Culkin was asked to play an unspecified lead role and said no, while Marisa Tomei elected not to play Penny (a role that ultimately went to Kaley Cuoco). According to Jessica Radloff's book "The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series," pop star and actor Selena Gomez actually really wanted to appear on "The Big Bang Theory," but the show couldn't make it work with her schedule.

The Big Bang Theory has had a slew of industry giants cameo in its epic 12-season long run. Be it Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk, or James Earl Jones, there have been appearances that just fit perfectly into a show made for nerds and geeks.

Sandra Bullock, a long-time favorite of Kunal Nayyar’s Rajesh Koothrappali, was also expected to make a cameo in the show, but it was scrapped due to scheduling conflicts. However, it might have been for the best, given the amount of backlash that the character’s ending received.

In the series finale, The Stockholm Syndrome, almost all of the main cast members were given a romantic happy ending.

Peter Yates' "Bullitt" is one of the most stylish cop flicks ever made. Those multi-screen opening credits designed by the great Pablo Ferro, that jazzily urbane Lalo Schifren score, those wildly cool outfits donned by Steve McQueen at the height of his laconic sexiness (some inspired by the suits sported by real life detective Dave Toschi) –- it's a stone groove punctuated by spasms of violence and, of course, a raucous car chase through the hilly streets of San Francisco. It's so ineffably pleasurable, you don't mind that the narrative is a sketchily plotted afterthought. Who needs an intricately structured story when you're watching, as Quentin Tarantino wrote in his book "Cinema Speculation," "one of the best directed movies ever made?"
You throw on "Bullitt" for the 1968-ness of it all (it's the apolitical flip-side of the coin to Haskell Wexler's roiling docudrama "Medium Cool"), as well as the...

Exclusive: After Homicide: Life on the Street landed on Peacock several weeks back, Fremantle has struck its first major deals for the remastered version of NBC’s iconic police series, while senior international exec Bob McCourt has teased a potential remake.
Israel’s Yes and Canada’s Bell Media have picked up Homicide, with more deals close, we understand. Starring Andre Braugher, Yaphet Kotto and Melissa Leo, the show based on David Simon’s book ran for more than 100 episodes and seven seasons in the 1990s and is considered by many to be a precursor to Simon’s The Wire. The HD remastered version launched on Peacock over the summer, and Fremantle, which holds non-u.S. rights, is prioritizing at MIPCOM Cannes, according to Fremantle Commercial and International COO McCourt, who said Homicide “revolutionized the crime genre.”

Broadway newcomers Sunset Blvd. and Romeo + Juliet, both in previews, topped the $1M mark in weekly grosses last week, while interesting things were happening over at Wicked: The long-running musical had its best week, by far, of the 2024-25 season, hitting nearly $2.5M.
The Wicked figure is a leap of $440,313 over the previous week and easily bests its previous season high of $2.2M from July. Looks like all the publicity surrounding the upcoming November movie release is having a definite Broadway impact, and — bonus points — Broadway favorite Donna McKechnie recently joined the production as Madame Morrible.
The Wicked take — $2,486,411, to be exact — put it at No. 1 on the Broadway box office chart for the week ending October 13, edging out its usual neck-and-neck rival The Lion King, which came in at No. 2 with $2,198,308.

The Exorcist is my choice for the best horror movie of all time. Some may say Rosemary’s Baby or The Shining or Night of the Living Dead, but as a good Catholic boy, nothing has ever gotten under my skin the way William Friedkin’s original did. But, with great success comes the desire for Hollywood to make a hit into a franchise, but Friedkin was not a franchise director. He famously turned down French Connection II, but the studio, perhaps noticing how the second French Connection turned out decently, decided to go ahead and turn it into a franchise. Still, the results, with one notable exception were a disaster. So without any further adieu, here’s our list of Exorcist movies ranked – from worst to best.
Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977)
So, worst is a degree here rather than a black-and-white fact. All of the Exorcist sequels – with that one...

Moff Gideon has been the main villain across all three seasons of The Mandalorian, and it's hard to imagine how the story will continue without him.
Giancarlo Esposito is also one of the few remaining actors on the show who has been there since Season 1. While the actor seems keen on returning as Gideon, he insists he has no idea what creator Jon Favreau is planning. While speaking at his panel at LA Comic Con, Esposito chronicled his journey to becoming Moff Gideon, which means as much to him as the role.
According to People, Esposito shared where he got the inspiration for the role, and it turns out the actor looked at the work of Star Wars heavyweights, including the late James Earl Jones and Peter Cushing. He says he found Cushing's performance as Grand Moff Tarkin "very interesting," but it's Earl Jones' Darth Vader that gave Esposito a...

Following outrage from members of the theater community, all Broadway theaters will dim their lights in honor of Gavin Creel, as well as for Adrian Bailey and Dame Maggie Smith.

A whole bunch of iconic performers appeared on "The Big Bang Theory" throughout its twelve-season run; hell, the list of "Star Trek" veterans who popped up on Chuck Lorre's sitcom is a pretty hefty list all by itself. Most of the time, people like William Shatner or James Earl Jones simply played larger-than-life versions of themselves, but sometimes TV legends would show up to have a little fun ... like Bob Newhart, who was a repeat guest star on "The Big Bang Theory" as Sheldon Cooper's (Jim Parsons) childhood idol Professor Proton, also known as Arthur Jeffries.
Apparently, Newhart's first day on the set of "The Big Bang Theory" was seriously emotional for everyone involved ... especially Newhart himself, who found himself totally overwhelmed by the live audience's effusive reaction. As Jim Parsons told Parade, tears were shed.

His awards cabinet was well-stocked, but the legacy he leaves behind as a catalyst for change in the entertainment industry and the booming voice of some of cinema’s most memorable characters is what will stick with all who got to witness his work on stage and screen. Throughout those 12 seasons, a lot of "Star Trek" veterans also showed up in cameo roles. Green Lantern has had a rough history on film. In 2011, Warner Bros. bet on the hero being their Iron Man; a B-lister underdog who could kick off a blockbuster franchise. "Green Lantern" starring Ryan Reynolds did not fly high so the character was almost completely absent from the DC Extended Universe. (None of the major Green Lanterns show up in either cut of "Justice League.")
Now, James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Studios is again looking to make the Green Lantern Corps an early fixture of their DC Films. Nathan Fillion is playing Guy Gardner in 2025's "Superman" and a "Lanterns" TV series is currently in development at HBO. A "True Detective" style murder mystery, "Lanterns" will star the two most famous comic Green Lanterns: Hal Jordan and John Stewart (not the one from "The Daily Show").

Kevin Costner has been the face of "Yellowstone" since it debuted in 2018. As the head of the Dutton Yellowstone ranch, John Dutton, Costner is undoubtedly part of the reason Paramount's neo-Western series has become so popular. But it's not just Costner that has portrayed the Dutton patriarch. Josh Lucas plays a younger version of the character on the series, and was actually approached about the role before "Yellowstone" even shot its pilot episode. This was just one of the elements that show creator Taylor Sheridan had mapped out ahead of time, too.
In a 2022 Deadline interview, Lucas recalled being told how, once the location for the Dutton Ranch was confirmed, Sheridan "walked around and pointed at certain points, and said, 'This will happen here in season 1,' and 'This will happen here in season 2. Filmmaker George Lucas introduced arguably the most sinister and menacing villain in cinema with 1977’s Star Wars. The film features the first appearance of Sith Lord Darth Vader, a commander in the evil Empire and the symbol of their oppression over the galaxy far, far away. The character quickly became iconic and remains part of the pop culture zeitgeist even today.

Chuck Lorre, with his remarkable contribution to the comedy sitcom genre, can easily be called the King of Sitcoms. The producer has brought forth several highly acclaimed shows, such as The Big Bang Theory, Cybill, Mom, and Young Sheldon. But in this list, Two and a Half Men gained him huge acclaim. But also brought in a slew of controversies, all thanks to Charlie Sheen.

The actor was going through some addiction issues during the sitcom’s eighth season. During the same time, he entered rehab, and also started a major Anti-Chuck Lorre rant, bashing the showrunner at every chance he got.
It was this very public fallout with Sheen that made it almost impossible for him to watch the show again.

Lauryn Hill was announced Wednesday as one of the lead singers on Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis’s new concept album of The Warriors.
As for whether the concept album, which also features Busta Rhymes, Rza, Ghostface Killah, Colman Domingo and more alongside an all-female gang, will become the Hamilton creator’s next full-length stage show, Miranda said it will depend on the reception.
“The plan is just to release it and see how people respond,” Miranda said at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in Manhattan Wednesday. He added that the project did not have a director or producers yet attached.
The album, due to be released Oct. 18, musicalizes the 1979 film that follows a street gang making their way from the Bronx to their home in Coney Island and encountering other gangs en route.
