- Made his stage debut in Sweden on March 8th 1945, his own country Norway were occupied by German troops, and he had join the Norwegian military force in exile. First film appearance in: "Englandsfarere/We Leave for England" 1946, a film about Norwegians killed by the Nazis after trying to run away by boat.
From 1948 stage actor in Trondheim, Stavanger and Oslo, he played both in comedies and in the social drama, always with a great human insight and with a solid stage presence. Popular film actor with many leading roles, at his best in films like "Jentespranget" 1973 and "Bobbys krig" 1974, also much on radio and television.
