John was the recipient of the L.A. Times Critics Choice Award for his performance of Lt. Angel in the revival of "Mrs. Cage" with Judith Weston. John also showcased with the Blank Theatre Company's Young Playwrights Festival in "Storms". He has worked with notable film directors including Michael Schultz, Vicki Jenson, and Mark Fergus. His work in the Indie market has been showcased at film festivals including Tribeca, Sundance, Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival and the Hollywood Black Film Festival. His performance at the Edinburgh College of Art in Edinburgh, Scotland during the Fringe Festival led to an ongoing stage performance at Volupte in London, England. Degreed in psychology, John began his professional career as a mental health, substance abuse and grief counselor before moving into acting.
