Christine Lakin on why she was fired from Fuller House [Image @yolakin on Instagram]

She had an opportunity to star in the Full House reboot, Fuller House, but was quickly fired. Meanwhile, Lakin believes this happened because she mocked Candace Cameron Bure’s brother, Kirk Cameron.

Christine Lakin appeared on Friday’s episode of Jodie Sweetin’s How Rude, Tanneritos podcast and said that she was nearly cast as a recurring character on Netflix’s Fuller House, but was unexpectedly let go before the table read.
Fuller House was a sequel series to Full House, which aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995. Fuller House aired from 2016 to 2020.
Lakin said that she had a “great” meeting with creator Jeff Franklin and “was stoked” about appearing on the show.
“And then about two days before the table read, I got a call from my manager saying, ‘Yes, something happened. They’re pushing the table read. I think there’s some stuff with the script they want to rewrite,’” Lakin said.

It’s been 30 whole years since the release of Clerks, and Kevin Smith’s breakout slacker duo Jay and Silent Bob are still popping up in movies, TV shows and the occasional Degrassi-themed rap video.
At the end of last year, Smith revealed that he’s currently writing yet another Jay and Silent Bob movie, a follow-up to 2019’s Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, which starred Smith, Jason Mewes and every working actor in Smith’s phone contacts.
While not much is known about the movie at this point, Smith recently took to Instagram to share a photo of one of the upcoming sequel’s props — an evil book, bound in human flesh, that resembles Silent Bob’s tortured face.
Obviously the prop is a facsimile of the Necronomicon from the Evil Dead series, just with a beard and a backwards baseball cap. Smith joked that it is “The...

To understand "Left Behind," one must understand a version of Christianity not widely practiced by many people outside certain pockets of the United States. In some American Evangelical churches, they preach of the coming Rapture, when all of the Christians on Earth -- including the dead ones -- will be bodily scooped up by God and transported into Heaven. The idea of a Rapture is taken from an interpretation from the Book of Thessalonians which didn't enter into the Christian lexicon until about the 1830s, making it a very recent development. When Evangelical churches began to become popular in the United States in the 1950s, a stripe of fundamentalist theology began embracing the Rapture as a prophecy that was almost immediately nigh.
On December 31, 1995, Baptist minister Jim Lahaye and author Jerry B. Jenkins published the Rapture-themed book "Left Behind: A Novel of the Earth's Last Days" to much ballyhoo. "Left Behind...

Bill Abbott, the Chief Executive Officer of the media company, Great American Family, tried to distance the organization from the controversial opinions made by former Full House star Candace Cameron Bure, the network’s new chief content officer, after her anti-lgbtq comments.
Back in November 2022, the actress gave an interview to The Wall Street Journal about her new position at the network. She said that due to the network’s focus on “traditional” marriage, viewers should not expect any LGBTQ plot lines in its movies.
Her comments in this interview were quickly denounced by other celebrities like JoJo Siwa and groups that support LGBTQ rights.
Abbott had no other choice but to speak up about Bure’s comments.
“We’re proud to have her here, and she works so well with the team alongside me, and we have a really talented and dedicated team that’s committed to high-quality faith and family content,...

Actor Kevin Sorbo, after promoting a children’s book by lashing out at gender-affirming care for minors, has denied the new release is “anti-lgbtq,” saying a blogger who posted a link to an interview with him “has no clue what he’s talking about.”
Sorbo said in a story published Monday by The Christian Post that his children’s book, “The Test of Lionhood,” is about “letting boys become boys to hopefully become men and strong men, strong providers for families as they grow up.”
But the “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” star also quickly took aim at gender-affirming care for minors in the interview, comparing it to “these transgenders going in and racing against women in sports now, boxing matches.”
“It’s just crazy to me,” he added.
“You know what?” Sorbo continued. “I’m all for [anyone] wanting to become transgender [as an adult]. I’m not bashing that world. I’ve been in Hollywood for 40 years.

Bury the Bride, which recently debuted as a Tubi Original, is the second film from director Spider One and co-writer Krsy Fox after last year’s Allegoria. Spider One, for those not into the industrial metal scene, is the singer and only consistent member of the band Powerman 5000; and probably more important to his expansion into filmmaking, he’s Rob Zombie’s younger brother.
And Bury the Bride certainly opens like one of his brother’s films as credits playing over an old-timey love song give way to green-tinted footage of a woman hacking at someone or something just out of sight. And then to a group of women talking about the dick size of someone’s fiance while another tries, and loudly announces her failure,...

There’s George Foreman the boxer and George Foreman the grill. The Sony biopic out this Friday offers a different George. “I want to spread the word of God,” says Foreman (Khris Davis) in the trailer for “Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World.”
It’s a production from faith-based Sony Pictures’ label Affirm Films. Its first film in 2008, “Fireproof” starring Kirk Cameron, grossed $33 million on a $500,000 budget. To date, the (mostly domestic) global theatrical gross for Affirm titles stands at $520 million — $400 million more than the films’ total production costs.
Directed by George Tillman Jr. and with Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker in a supporting role, “Foreman” may represent the biggest Affirm budget to date. (One source lists it at $34 million.) Prior Affirm budgets topped out at $20 million. It’s also got one of Affirm’s biggest releases, with 2,575 theaters.
Opening prospects are unclear.

Hollywood was in the midst of its Brat Pack fervor when the director/screenwriter team of Tim Hunter and Neil Jimenez jolted moviegoers with "River's Edge." It was the grimy, dead-souled antithesis to John Hughes' peppy tales of suburban woe. The Northern California high schoolers in Hunter's film are dead-enders who, aware of their paltry worth to society, have little value for human life. When their friend John (Daniel Roebuck) claims he's murdered his girlfriend Jamie (Danyi Deats) and takes them to see her nude corpse, which he's discarded like a dog toy next to a riverbank, they do not recoil in horror. They are at most dumbstruck, and at worst eager to aid John in covering up the crime.
We should be shocked by their lack of revulsion, but Hunter lets us hang out with these kids for a good 15 minutes before taking us to Jamie. They're future burnouts...

If you see just one thriller this year in which a climactic car chase is followed by the director-star breaking character to deliver a five-minute sermon straight into the camera — followed by three more minutes of Mike Huckabee leading viewers in prayer to accept Jesus into their hearts, before the end credits roll — then make it “Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist,” the latest in a series of apocalyptic films based on the bestselling Christian book series.
Although “Rise” is the sixth feature derived from dozens of rapture-iffic novels and spinoff novellas published under the “Left Behind” banner in the mid-’90s through mid-2000s, it’s the first in the film series to have Kevin Sorbo as a leading man as well as director. Where past installments were relatively coy about their evangelistic purpose, Sorbo opts to add a literal come-to-Jesus epilogue. You may recall that the last actor...

It may not be particularly fair to say that this is a bit of a duff weekend, because there are indeed new wide and moderate releases. It’s just that very few of them are screening in advance for critics and therefore might be seen as less than. Can any of them topple Week 7 of “Avatar: The Way of Water”?
The one possibility is “Infinity Pool,” Brandon Cronenberg’s follow-up to his 2020 thriller, “Possessor,” which was stymied by the shutdown of movie theaters due to Covid. This one is equally enigmatic, though it has more of a name cast, including Alexander Skarsgård (“Big Little Lies”) and Mia Goth. Skarsgård plays a writer on a luxury vacation with his wife Em (Cleopatra Coleman from “Dopesick”) who becomes involved in a fatal accident that throws him into the locale’s world of horror and violence.

Actor Kirk Cameron is claiming that more than 50 libraries across the nation have rejected his offer to host a story time for his new children’s book, As You Grow. The book, published earlier this month, promotes Christian values of “love for God, love for family and love for country” to children.

Don’t expect any holiday cheer for gay characters in a Candace Cameron Bure Christmas movie moving forward. When asked if her new made-for-tv Christmas movies at the conservative-leaning Great American Family network will feature same-sex couples, the “Full House” star demurred and said that it will “keep traditional marriage at the core.”
Bure, who has been referred to as The Queen of Christmas after making over two dozen movies with the Hallmark Channel since 2008, explained in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that she left Hallmark earlier this year because of a desire to “tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them.” But she hinted that even Hallmark, which is working on a Christmas movie featuring an LGBTQ love story, may have gotten too woke in recent years.

Candace Cameron Bure was the undisputed queen of Hallmark Channel’s slate of popular holiday fare, with more than 30 credits to her name. Who could forget her work as a high-strung doctor who moves to Alaska in “Christmas Under Wraps”? Ok, just because you haven’t heard of it, doesn’t mean it wasn’t a huge hit. The 2014 made-for-tv movie has the distinction of being the most watched Hallmark Christmas special ever, landing almost 6 million viewers on its debut airing. So, when Bure, 46, split with Hallmark to join rival upstart cable network Gac (now Great American Family) earlier this year, not even Santa himself could cheer up Hallmark.
The brains behind this Christmas steal wasn’t the Grinch. Instead, it was Great American Media president and CEO Bill Abbott, the former chief of Hallmark Channel’s parent company, who stepped down from his previous post in 2020 after he faced...

The late summer/early fall box office woes continue. Though the new releases opened well on their own terms in this post Labor Day weekend, they weren’t enough to keep this from becoming the year’s second worst grossing weekend. With an overall box office of 40.3 million, it comes in only ahead of the 34.9 million weekend of January 28-30, which didn’t have a single new wide release. If there’s a positive spin to put on the weekend, it’s that the newcomers overperformed slightly and the weekend fell less than expected, "only” dropping 28 despite larger than usual drops on the holdovers thanks to inflated grosses last weekend with the National Cinema Day 3 ticket promotion last Saturday. If the coming weeks’ releases such as The Woman King and Don’t Worry Darling hit their targets and then some, it could be enough to keep the box office from falling...

Disney has both the #1 and #2 film this weekend, exactly one year after last achieving that. Sony did it two weeks ago with “The Invitation” and “Bullet Train,” but it is something the House of Mouse did regularly in years when they were the dominant studio for theatrical releases.
Their lead this weekend is more of a default situation than last September when holdover weekends of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and “Free Guy” held the top two spots. The latter was a Fox-produced title distributed by Disney. This year, both “Barbarian” (also out of Fox) and “Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva” (from Fox Star India) placed as two titles that might not normally be associated with the Burbank studio.
This is likely to be the rock bottom weekend, possibly for years to come. Total grosses amounted to 43 million, second worst for 2022 (1/28-30 lower). That’s only 31 percent of 2019’s post-Labor Day weekend gross.

September just keeps getting worse! With the top ten accumulating just 33.2 million this weekend, it marks the second lowest Weekend take of 2022 behind the weekend of January 28 when Spider-Man: No Way Home took first place in its 7th week of release.
The weekend had potential for a breakout hit with the Stephen King adaptation of Salem’s Lot originally scheduled for release, however Covid related issues saw that film delayed several months. Disney (who acquired Barbarian’s original studio: 20th Century Fox in 2019) saw a horror shaped void in the schedule and pounced on it.
That schedule change may have actually paid off as Barbarian opened better than expected (although our predictions were right on the money) to 10 million. That may not seem like a big victory, however the film was tracking to open in the same underwhelming range as The Invitation with around 7 million, so anything above that is a win.
The weekend had potential for a breakout hit with the Stephen King adaptation of Salem’s Lot originally scheduled for release, however Covid related issues saw that film delayed several months. Another weekend in the box office dry spell has gone by, and while a newcomer has taken No. 1 with 20th Century/New Regency’s “Barbarian” opening to 10 million from 2,340 theaters, industry estimates have overall weekend grosses sinking to 43.8 million.
That would give this September weekend the second-lowest total of any weekend in 2022. The only weekend with a lower amount is the weekend of Jan. 28 with 34 million. It likely will be more than a month before the box office will get a serious rebound with the DC film “Black Adam” coming Oct. 21, though theaters are hoping that films like next weekend’s Sony release of “The Woman King,” and Universal’s “Bros” and “Halloween Ends” can help stem the tide before then.
For now, “Barbarian” leads the charts with an opening slightly above its high single-digit projections, thanks possibly in part to strong critics reviews and a 92 Rotten Tomatoes score. Audience...

The new horror movie Barbarian overperformed at the domestic box office, where it won the weekend with 10 million in ticket sales from 2,340 theaters.
That puts the well-reviewed film far ahead of an expected 5 million to 6 million opening. Still, the post-Labor Day weekend was more quiet than usual. Not to mention, most of the movie industry is focused on the fall film festivals. Toronto is underway in earnest, with Steven Spielberg’s The Fablemans sparking instant Oscar buzz when making its world premiere at the Canadian fest before hitting theaters in November. Another high-profile Toronto entry, Sony’s The Woman King, debuts next weekend at the box office.
From 20th Century Studios and New Regency, Barbarian did big business in Imax and premium large format screens, which contributed 29 percent of the gross.

Saturday numbers are beginning to roll in, and they are looking in line with our predictions from Thursday.
Leading the pack is the new R-rated Horror film Barbarian with a Friday haul of 3.8 Million on its way to around 9 million for the weekend. It is possible this one can hit double digits if crowds turn out tonight, however with a C+ Cinemacscore and a 92 on Rotten Tomatoes, it appears this one is having quite the divide between audiences and critics.
The other new releases for the weekend are the Hindi language Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, which saw a 1.9 Million Friday and is expected to finish the weekend just shy of 5 Million. This is another case of a studio picking the right time to launch a film aimed at a niche audience stateside. With over 8000 screens worldwide, this marks the widest release ever for an Indian film.

It’s hard out there for former child actors. Often, a lot have ended up tabloid fodder or have tragically died at a young age. Others have found a career on the reality show circuit -remember Vh-!’s “The Surreal Life” and “Celebrity Fit Club”? And the recent edition of The Food Network’s “Worst Cooks in America, Celebrity Edition” featured former child stars from the 1980s.
But transitioning to adult roles has been getting easier as witnessed in the 2022 Emmy nominations. Numerous nominees began their careers as child or teen actors including Jason Bateman (“Ozark”); Nicholas Braun (“Succession”); Kaley Cuoco (“The Flight Attendant”); Elle Fanning (“The Great”); Melanie Lynskey (“Yellow Jackets”); Will Poulter (“Dopesick”); Seth Rogen (“Pam & Tommy”); Juno Temple (“Ted Lasso”); Christopher Walken (“Severance”); Tyler James Williams (“Abbott Elementary”); Reese Witherspoon (“The Morning Show”); and Zendaya (“Euphoria”).
A lot of these actors started taking control of their careers at a young age.

Amid the last gasps and bellows of the Trump presidency, it seems no place is immune to recent spikes in outgoing Maga madness — not even deeply blue Los Angeles County. Over the past few weeks, numerous sites across the city have been converted into ideological battlegrounds pitting maskless, Trump-supporting agitators against, well, everyone else, even as more than 7,000 people are hospitalized for Covid-19 around the L.A. area and ambulances are being told not to bring in patients unlikely to survive.

Actor-turned-evangelical Christian activist Kirk Cameron has been receiving criticism for organizing two Christmas caroling protests in Southern California. The criticism arose after the actor hosted two events where dozens of mask-less people gathered and stood less than six feet apart as they sang Christmas carols. This was a form of protest to the state’s stay-at-home […]

Candace Cameron Bure is speaking out about her brother Kirk Cameron's recent protests. After the Growing Pains actor received backlash for hosting caroling events in California amid stay-at-home orders, the Full House alum took to Twitter to make it clear she was not involved. "I did not attend any recent caroling events," the 44-year-old actress wrote. "Also, I choose to follow the greater guidelines by wearing a mask and social distance when I'm in public." However, Candace noted she did not "appreciate the vile tweets" about her family. "I believe respectful dialogue is the key to being heard," she continued. "Stay safe." Kirk hosted the...

Paging Kirk Cameron. Kirk Cameron to the E.R.
As footage was shared online of actor Kirk Cameron smiling while hosting a maskless yuletide singalong/protest with about 100 people on Tuesday night, another piece of video provided a stark counterpoint.
Released by Kaiser Permanente of Southern California, the footage shows prone patients lined up outside a local hospital on Emt stretchers, apparently waiting for admittance. It shows other prospective patients waiting — again outside — under pop-up tents in wheel chairs while hooked up to oxygen tanks.
The video recalls horrifying images seen in countries like Italy early in the pandemic where patients were dying in hospital hallways.
The images come from inside — and outside — Kaiser Permanente’s Downey and Fontana medical centers, and they portray a stark reality that local public health officials have been trying to communicate for weeks.

With fools like Kirk Cameron flouting safety protocols, holiday cheer was in short supply today as coronavirus deaths and hospitalizations in Los Angeles County broke new tragic records, according to regional health officials.
There were 145 deaths reported today, according to LA County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer. That horrible data brings the number of deaths due to Covid-19 in LA County to 9,016. Adding to the dire situation in semi-locked down Southern California, there were 16,575 confirmed cases of the virus. That’s a near record that brings the total number of cases in LA County to 647,542.
In that context, Dr. Ferrer bluntly added that we will be “witnessing 10,000 deaths for Covid-19 as our hospitals are overwhelmed.” The top health official added that hospitalizations will increase over the “next two weeks” for a “devestating impact on LA County.”

Onetime Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron hosted yet another Christmas caroling protest with unmasked singers in close proximity. Local news reports pin the number of attendees at about 100. The event was held in the parking lot of The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks. It’s the third such event the Fireproof actor has held this December.
Meanwhile, Covid-19 is hitting Ventura County — where the mall is located — hard. The county recently reported its highest-ever number of daily new Covid-19 infections, and the test positivity rate on Tuesday was 12.6%, which is higher than that of adjacent L.A. County.
There are 737 new cases of Covid-19. There have unfortunately been 6 additional deaths: 68 year old female, 96 yr female, 63 yr female, 86 yr male, 96 yr female and 95 yr female with comorbidities. 4,317 new tests performed. The Hope Rising concert, which will air on Facebook Live on Sunday, Apr. 19 at 8 p.m. Et/5 p.m. Pt, is slated to raise both spirits and funds for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Corey Feldman and Corey Haim remain linked over a decade after Haim’s death in 2010.
In Feldman’s new documentary (My) Truth: The Rape of Two Coreys, which premiered in Los Angeles on Monday, the actor, 48, alleges that his friend told him that Charlie Sheen raped Haim on set of the 1986 film Lucas. At the time Sheen was 19 and Haim was 13.
According to Entertainment Weekly, several others featured in the documentary claimed that Haim had also told them of the alleged sexual abuse, including Feldman’s ex-wife Susannah Sprague, with whom he shares son Zen, 15.
“These sick, twisted and outlandish allegations never occurred.

A great bad movie makes you ask, “What did I just see? And when can I see it again?” as opposed to a run-of-the-mill stinker, the kind you wish you’d never watched and will immediately forget that you did. The great bad movies inspire think-pieces, podcasts, watching parties and feverish cult adoration. The regular ones merely wallow in mediocrity. Here’s my alphabetical list of the greatest bad movies the 2010s had to offer:
“Collateral Beauty” (2016)
Will Smith is sad, and his best friends gaslight him by hiring actors to pretend to be Love, Time and Death, but we’re supposed to find their efforts — noble? Charming? None of this makes a lick of sense, but it’s all delivered with hilarious gravitas by the likes of Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren. Make sure to stick around for the shameless third-act twist, and a labored explanation of the title.

The first half of Fuller House‘s final season is loaded with fun guest stars, from ’90s icon Lisa Loeb to Dancing duo Val and Maks Chmerkovskiy. But no cameo will excite fans — especially fans named Kimmy Gibbler — as much as Candace Cameron Bure‘s real-life brother Kirk Cameron, who plays himself in Episode 8.

The Evolution of Leonardo DiCaprio: From ‘Growing Pains’ to ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ (Photos)
For nearly 30 years, Leonardo DiCaprio has managed to maintain an image as a handsome, Hollywood heartthrob and as one of the industry’s most bankable and pedigreed performers. While he’s consistently been at the top of the A-list, the roles DiCaprio has taken have changed dramatically. In “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood,” DiCaprio lends his star power to help Quentin Tarantino shape a new Tinsel Town legend. Here’s how the actor has evolved over the years:
“Growing Pains” (1991)
After guest starring on “Roseanne” and “Parenthood,” DiCaprio landed a role on the long-running sitcom “Growing Pains.” He played Luke Brower, a homeless student in the class of young school teacher Mike (Kirk Cameron) that the Seaver family take in until he is reunited with his father.

Scott Foley isn’t afraid to admit his love for late 1980s family sitcom “Growing Pains.” “I watched everything about that show,” he told Variety’s “My Favorite Episode” podcast. “From the ‘Entertainment Tonight’ backstage clips where Kirk Cameron got a Honda Prelude — I mean, I remember what kind of car he got. I was a big fan of it. I had a crush on Tracey Gold. I still now will read the People magazine articles on these actors.”
Foley said “Growing Pains” was more than a sitcom to him — it was the dawn of his realization that he could act, on television, for a living. “It was one of the shows that I think I realized, ‘hey I can do that.’ I was at the age where I was starting to form ideas on what my future would be. I loved that time in television. We don’t really have that now.

Event cinema is coming of age as movie theaters increasingly look to live events and one-night screenings during the Sunday-Thursday corridor.
Bts concert documentary, “Burn the Stage: The Movie,” pulled in a record-setting $18 million in 79 territories at 2,650 movie theaters in three nights for Trafalgar Releasing — including $3.6 million in the U.S.
Peter Jackson’s World War I documentary “They Shall Not Grow Old” earned $2.3 million at 1,142 theaters in North America on Dec. 17 — marking the largest single night for a Fathom Events documentary. It will screen again at more than 900 locations on Dec. 27.
Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst with comScore, said the numbers show that 2018 is a turning point for event cinema.

Have mercy! Candace Cameron Bure's family reunion landed her in the emergency room! The Fuller House star took to her Instagram on Thursday to document her trip to the hospital, telling her followers that her brother Kirk Cameron "ran me over." "Our fun family day ended up with me in the emergency room," Candace laughed as she told her followers in one social media post. "Got into a go-karting accident and my brother ran me over. I'm waiting to see if I broke my hand or fractured it or what. I think I bruised my shoulder up pretty badly too, but I can't tell because I haven't taken my shirt off." "But they got my rings off and that was one of the most painful...

Christian movies are ready to cross over. Fourteen years have passed since “The Passion of the Christ” became a national sensation, and while no one has managed to match the hysteria that greeted Mel Gibson’s New Testament snuff film, companies like Pure Flix and Mission Pictures International have cultivated a lucrative cottage industry of cinema for the Focus on the Family crowd. Over and over again, these religious offerings have surprised box office pundits and raked in blockbuster numbers, with everyone from Pat Robertson to Joel Osteen spreading the good word in an effort to close the gap between megachurches and multiplexes.
“Heaven Is for Real,” the inspirational story of a little boy who once died for a few minutes, gross $93 million in the United States. “Fireproof,” in which Kirk Cameron plays a porn-addicted fireman, earned $33 million off a $500,000 budget. “God’s Not Dead,” a 2014 Kevin Sorbo vehicle about...

Mark Wahlberg has never been shy about this faith, but it also doesn’t really seem to have affected his career moves in any real way. From hard R comedies like “Ted,” to outrageous projects like “Pain & Gain,” to the foul mouthed Martin Scorsese jam “The Departed,” to a string of action movies and blockbusters — Wahlberg isn’t exactly Kirk Cameron.

Former ‘Growing Pains’ Star Lambasted On Social Media After Claiming Hurricanes Are God’s Punishment
Many people are pointing to the destruction levelled by Hurricane Harvey (which caused record flooding in Houston) and Hurricane Irma (which left numerous Caribbean islands devastated as it barrels toward the Florida coastline) as an example of climate change. Former “Growing Pains” star Kirk Cameron, however, has a different theory. The outspoken evangelical Christian took […]...

Many people are not happy with Kirk Cameron over some controversial comments he's made about the deadly hurricanes that have wreaked havoc inside and near the United States, namely the current Hurricane Irma. The Growing Pains alum and evangelical Christian actor recently took to Facebook, where he often posts vlogs, to give his take on the disasters. Hurricane Harvey killed 70 people and destroyed thousands of homes in the Houston area about two weeks ago, while Hurricane Irma, one of the strongest Atlantic storms ever recorded, has already killed at least 10 people in the Caribbean is headed towards southern Florida. "How should we look at two giant hurricanes coming back-to-back like this?"...

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of film and TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Monday.
This week’s question: “The Book of Henry” has been assailed by critics. But let’s look beyond this particular reviled new release. What’s the worst movie you’ve ever reviewed?
Alissa Wilkinson (@alissamarie), Vox
It’s unfortunately not even a contest: “God’s Not Dead 2,” which I reviewed for Flavorwire and then wrote about it further for Thrillist. (The first movie is actually far worse, but I didn’t review it.) They’re actually not the worst-made movies I’ve seen, but as a Christian and a film critic, I find them so actively offensive and cynical that it’s somehow even more depressing. I didn’t derive any joy from the process, but it felt important that I write about it.
