Ruth Elise Fraser was the daughter of prolific silent and sound film director, producer, writer Harry L. Fraser and his second wife Janet Findlay. When Ruth moved to California, she decided to give acting a try. She appeared in 10 films that were mostly directed by her father. Growing tired of film work she decided to concentrate on having a family. She first married Grant O'Donnell but eventually married character actor Lou Yaconnelli whom she was with until he passed away.
