(1998) Mukul Anand was working on a film titled "Oscar",which was to feature Govinda as a Bollywood actor who goes to Hollywood. A leading actress, tickled by his unsophisticated ways, takes him under her wing. She trains him in the wicked ways of the West and eventually he wins, what else, an Oscar. The film got shelved after Mukul's death.

(1986) Govinda had signed the film Rama O Rama. But in those days Govinda had signed too many movies. When the producer's asked Govinda for dates he would make excuses. Finally he was removed from the film. In those days Asif Sheikh had approached the Mirza brothers for the lead role. They told him that the role was being done by Govinda so he ( Asif) could be a assistant for the film. Asif accepted this and signed on. When Govinda was dropped from the film, Asif was then finally signed for the film as lead hero

(1992) Govinda starred in the shelved film Shanketan's Associates "Kohinoor". Starring Govinda, Rukhsar. It was to be a costume drama.The project was written by Shyam Goel and story idea by Govinda. The action choreography was by Sham Kaushal.The music was composed by Jatin Lalit and the film was produced by Anuj Sharma. The project was to be directed by Sanjay Sharma. It was restarted as Maharaja with Govinda and Manisha Koirala.

(1988) Produced Dimppy Ramdayal announced the film "Barabar Ki Takkar" with Govinda and Chunky Pandey. The film was shelved after announcement.

(2002 - 2003) Govinda starer, C.Y. Films of producer Cheetah Yagnesh Shetty was announced with the title Yaahoo! Written and Directed by Sanjay Chhel was announced With Govinda and Juhi Chawla in the main lead roles along with Chunky Pandey, Shakti Kapoor, Hrishita Bhatt and Isha Kopikar in important roles. FIlm got shelved after almost entire film and songs were shot in Mumbai and Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Songs were recorded by Music director duo Jatin Lalit and Lyrics by Sanjay Chhel.

(1986) Starred in the shelved movie Sham Ralhan Production's " Shoorveer". Starring Dharmendra,Jaya Pradha, Govinda,Mandakini, Dialogues by Kader Khan,Music by Laxmikant Pyarelal, Produced and Directed by Sham Ralhan. When the film failed to take off, Sham Ralhan started another film with the same title but different star cast and different story line.

(1997) Starred in the shelved movie Mahaveer Films untitled project. Starring Govinda, Sushmita Sen, Produced by Manu Shah.

(2007) Shemaroo had planned a remake of "Padosan". They signed Sanjay Dutt for Kishore Kumar's role, Ritesh Deshmukh for Sunil Dutt's role and Govinda for Mehmood's role. Neeraj Vohra was to direct the film. The project never took off.
