The year was 1999 and as congratulations for my group's project getting the highest score in the class, our teacher invited us to have lunch in her room for a week to watch a movie. We chose the Tim Allen/Sam Huntington flick "Jungle 2 Jungle," which includes a character played by a young Leelee Sobieski. One of the kids in my group was also the class bully, and he wasted no time pouncing on this slip-up. "Are you a d**e or something?" It wouldn't be the last time he'd call me that, nor would he be the only one to do it. After years of therapy — I'll fully admit that my years of hypersexual behavior with men in my teens...

Second Nature couldn’t have found its place in the world at a more opportune time. A balls-out funny-as-hell comedy about a woman who against all the nay-sayers is going to run for Mayor against a womanizing, no morals and for lack of a better word Ass-hole who thinks the job is already sewn up. Seems standard right?? Well no not really throw in a Magic Mirror and some Freaky Friday gender-swapping and you have Second Nature.
Without jumping into spoilers though, the kicker is this… It’s not our main characters who have swapped roles like in most of these movies. It is the world around them!

James Gunn has confirmed one classic DC character who will appear in Superman: Legacy, as he plans to include Jimmy Olsen. The writer and director of the first DC Universe movie has the responsibility of relaunching Superman after Zack Snyder's take on the character played by Henry Cavill. Details on Superman: Legacy are still sparse, but it is known that it will not be an origin story for Clark Kent. Instead, the movie will explore his life on Earth as he grapples with his Kryptonian heritage and what his parents on Earth taught him. Who Superman will fight and who will join him on the adventure has not been revealed.
Shortly after announcing a big update on the movie and revealing it is now in pre-production, James Gunn used Twitter to confirm that Jimmy Olsen is in Superman: Legacy.

The wait is almost over, “Psych” fans. Among the many offerings that will be available when NBCUniversal’s new streaming service, Peacock, launches nationwide Wednesday is “Psych 2: Lassie Come Home,” the long-awaited sequel to “Psych: The Movie.”
Now, seeing as it’s been a while since the first “Psych” film debuted on USA Network in December 2017 — and even longer since the detective dramedy series ended its eight season run in 2014 — we’re willing to bet that even the most die-hard fans don’t remember exactly where we left things with Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill). Well, don’t worry, because we’re here to recap it all for you so that you’re fully prepared for the premiere of “Psych 2: Lassie Come Home” tomorrow.
Ok, so “Psych: The Movie” takes place three years after the series finale, with Shawn, Gus and Juliet (Maggie Lawson) still living in San Francisco,...

I do have to admit that the simple reason for me watching Seven Stages To Achieve Eternal Bliss is because Taiki Waititi stars in it. As is often the case, just because one actor yu like is in a movie (particularly low budget movies) it might not be the best reason to view it. But it’s Taiki Waititi right?!
As you might be expecting Waititi isn’t actually in the movie a whole lot but on to that later. Seven Stages To Achieve Eternal Bliss is a ridiculous comedy about a young couple who move in to a place that is clearly to good to be true. It’s well located, super cheap and is home to ritualistic...

Claire and Paul (Kate Micucci and Sam Huntington) move to La for her new job at an ad agency. They find a very cheap apartment, but there’s one catch: the cult members who drop by on a regular basis to commit ritual suicide in their bathtub.
Seven Stages To Achieve Eternal Bliss is an odd little film; a small scale but often self-consciously wacky comedy that also has a streak of black humour running through it. The tone is slippery from scene to scene, meaning the screenplay by Christopher and Clayton Hewitson and Justin Jones doesn’t always knit together well, but two things help the film find some consistency.
The first of these things is Kate Micucci, who came to my attention through Garfunkel and Oates; her musical comedy project with her friend Riki Lindhome. Here, her wide-eyed expressiveness works perfectly as Claire is at first baffled by...

"The more we learn about Storsh.... I can see why these people follow him." MarVista Entertainment has debuted an official trailer for an indie comedy titled Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss, which is the shortened version of the original full title: Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss By Passing Through the Gateway Chosen By the Holy Storsh. This funky offbeat comedy is about a couple that takes a chance on a place with impossibly low rent, not knowing the former occupant was a cult leader. To make matters more bizarre, an endless string of followers routinely break into their home to ceremoniously sacrifice themselves in the same bathtub he died in. Starring Sam Huntington and Kate Micucci, along with Dan Harmon, Mark McKinney, Rhea Seehorn, and Taika Waititi as Reginald Storsh. This looks kooky and crazy, but potentially absurdly funny, thanks to Kate Micucci above all bringing the good humor.

The cable network has given a series order to Moffat’s adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s novel, which was previously made into a 2009 film starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams, our sister site Deadline reports.
The show is described as an intricate and magical love story about Clare and Henry, whose marriage has one major problem: time travel.
“I read Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife many years ago, and I fell in love with it,” Moffat told Deadline.

Excessive absurdity is to be expected from a film titled “7 Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss by Passing Through the Gateway Chosen by the Holy Storsh,” and Vivieno Caldinelli’s feature doesn’t disappoint in that regard. But the outlandishness proffered by this comedy is of such a strident sort that any possible laughs quickly turn to eye-rolling groans. Despite inclusion in the Midnight movies section of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, this atonal affair is unlikely to elicit much good will from audiences of any genre persuasion.
Ohio transplants Claire (Kate Micucci) and Paul (Sam Huntington) have no sooner moved into their new Los Angeles apartment than they’re discovering the reason for its unbelievably low rent: It’s the former home of the Holy Storsh (Taika Waititi), a cult leader who killed himself in the bathtub, and is now a place where his disciples come to follow his fatal lead.

Finding your dream apartment is never easy, especially in a city like Los Angeles, and while there are plenty of things worth letting slide for cheap rent, a revolving door of crazy cult members who want to commit suicide in your bathtub probably isn’t one of them. But what if those cult members were on to something?

Every season on iZombie, there’s one brain that stands out above the rest. This year’s memorable noggin comes during this Monday’s episode (The CW, 9/8c) when the undead heroine feeds off a hopeless romantic. Second Nature couldn’t have found its place in the world at a more opportune time (What with Trump vs Hillary and all). A balls out funny as hell comedy about a woman who against all the nay-sayers is going to run for Mayor against a womanizing, no morals and for lack of a better word Ass-hole who thinks the job is already sewn up. Seems standard right?? Well no not really throw in a Magic Mirror and some Freaky Friday gender swapping and you have Second Nature.
Without jumping into spoilers though, the kicker is this… It’s not our main characters who have swapped roles like in most of these movies. It is the world around them!

Gender behaviour is flipped when magic dusts over Sam Huntington (Sully, Superman Returns) and Collette Wolfe (Hot Tub Time Machine, Interstellar) in the hilarious new “bodyswap” comedy Second Nature - the directing debut of Seattle filmmaker Michael Cross. The film will have its world premiere at the Napa Valley Film Festival on November 10th; with a wider release expected in 2017.
Upon the sudden death of a local politician, Amanda (Wolfe) and Bret (Huntington) both jump at the chance to run for mayor; but the two former classmates have very different ideas about how to run their small town. Amanda hopes to protect her frail grandmother and others in need. Bret, on the other hand, has a pro strip club agenda and is backed by the corrupt and inept city council. Their worlds are flipped around when Bret snatches an antique, magic mirror from Amanda’s hands during a heated argument.

What would the world look like if gender roles were reversed? How would things change? Michael Cross’ new comedy “Second Nature” takes a hard look at gender stereotyping by seeing what would happen if a man and a woman campaigned against each other in a world where women experience traditionally male privilege.

'Sully' movie with Tom Hanks as pilot Chesley Sullenberger: Clint Eastwood homage to 'the durable, honorable American male.' 'Sully' movie review: 'Taut, straightforward' drama features Clint Eastwood's latest all-American hero When considering Sully, Clint Eastwood's taut, straightforward account of heroism on trial, it helps to remember that the title character's name works as both noun and verb. And one can see how Eastwood was drawn to both meanings. The noun, of course, is the nickname of airline pilot Chesley Sullenberger, who saved the lives of 155 passengers and crew on January 15, 2009, by pulling off a daring water landing after a flock of birds took out both engines of his Us Airways flight minutes after it took off from New York's Laguardia airport. The Sully depicted here is, like many Eastwood heroes, made of uniquely American clay; a sturdy, rigorous material that the director,...

Yesterday, I got the chance to finally take a look at Clint Eastwood and Tom Hanks’ collaboration Sully. The film is quite good, showcasing both heavyweights at peak skill. This week could have been a pretty barren one, but Sully saves it, just like he did all of the passengers on his plane. In depicting the Miracle on the Hudson, Eastwood could have fallen back on his lazier tendencies, while Hanks could have coasted on his likability, but neither do. This is a high effort and tight work that represents one of Eastwood’s best directorial outings to date. Frankly, it’s a must see and a definite Academy Award contender. Once again, in case you don’t know by now, Sully is a biopic about Captain Chesley Sullenberger (Tom Hanks), the pilot who became a national hero. We all learned about Captain Sullenberger, or Sully, after he glided his...

Later this week, Clint Eastwood will unleash a new film into the world in Sully, which debuted a few days ago at the Telluride Film Festival. Early word is very solid, suggesting a potential awards player this year. I’ll be writing about that movie shortly, but for now, I want to look at Eastwood’s career to date, both as an actor as well as a filmmaker. Eastwood is a unique one, that’s for sure. In just a day or two I’ll be back with a straight Sully piece, but right now, it’s more or less just going to be a look at Eastwood and what he’s done so far. Enjoy! After coming off what is far and away the biggest success of his career at the box-office, American Sniper, director Clint Eastwood is taking on another biopic of sorts with Sully. The drama follows the true story of Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, who glided his plane along the Hudson River, saving the life of all those aboard in an event often referred to as the Miracle on the Hudson. Ahead of a release in a few weeks, an IMAX trailer has now landed.

Late last week, we got two Trailers for what appear to be serious Academy Award contenders in Bleed for This and Sully. They have almost nothing in common, except for one actor…Aaron Eckhart. He’s a main supporting player in both films, with potential Oscar consideration on the horizon. Eckhart has come close to his first nomination on at least two occasions, for Rabbit Hole and especially Thank You For Smoking (with some also being quite fond of his turn in The Dark Knight), but this is his probably his best shot in some time. Both with Bleed for This and Sully, he has the sorts of parts that voters often tend to fall under the spell of. We’ll see if Eckhart can woo them successfully this time around, but he’s certainly got a chance. You’ll see him in the Trailers for both below, but first,...
