Petar Lalovic(1932-2015)

He finished Theater and Film Academy in Zagreb and graduated from
Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. He has made over 200
documentaries, in which he was a screenwriter, director and cameraman.
He also filmed feature films and TV series. Lalovic's vocation are
metaphorical films about nature, for which he won over 150 awards both
in Yugoslavia and abroad. His long feature film Ptice koje ne polete
(Some Birds Can't Fly) received more than 20 awards, including four
Grand Prix in Europe. However, the film critique and the movie theater
audience feel that his greatest achievement was the fact that, with his
documentary films Poslednja oaza (The Last Oasis) and Svet koji nestaje
(The Vanishing World), he managed to make the documentary film find its
way back into the movie theaters.
