Do any of you hardcore horror fanatics remember Mirror Mirror from 1990? It had a theatrical release, but garnered much of its popularity on the shelves of Blockbuster Video stores nationwide and became a late-night cable staple for several years throughout the decade. And yes, it should be considered somewhat “popular” since it spawned three sequels. If you haven’t seen the original Mirror Mirror, don’t worry because Dark Force Entertainment, headed by Demon Dave, has released it in 4K Uhd. That means you Og fans of this B-movie classic can relive some sense of nostalgia from that decade, now in 4K clarity.

Let’s dive into the film’s plot. Megan Gordon and her mother Susan move to L.A. and into a new home to begin their equally new lives. The previous residents left behind a lot of their belongings that are being sold by an auctioneer named Emelin.

February is known as Women in Horror Month, when the spotlight is put on female filmmakers working inside our favorite genre, and many horror sites run pieces about movies directed by women. I’m a bad Full Moon fan. I really am… I can now cross Bad Channels off my list of Full Moon flicks I know of but haven’t seen.

Yet another collaboration between Charles Band and his Subspecies director Ted Nicolaou, Bad Channels tells the story of Dangerous Dan (Hipp) a newly employed DJ at Kdul who is returning to the airwaves after a six month suspension by the FCC for a stunt he pulled while on the air. Covering Dan’s return to the airwaves is Lisa Cummings (Quinn) who doesn’t trust Dan and thinks he’s a hoax. She becomes the butt of his jokes when she spots a UFO landing near the radio station and Dan is quick to laugh until the alien breaks into Kdul.

The Puppet Master series is very dear to my heart. Discovering the films many years ago as a teenager browsing the shelves of my local video store, I have grown up with the franchise, following it through thick and thin, good and bad… I’ve owned every iteration of the films on rental VHS, sell-thru VHS, DVD and now, thanks to the good folks at 88 Films, on Blu-ray.

Actor Jason London has wed his girlfriend of two years in an intimate ceremony in her native Vermont.

The Dazed and Confused star exchanged vows with actress Sofia Karstens in North Hero on 16 July, and London admits he found the big day overwhelming.

He tells People.com, "It's been wonderful. I was in a daze. I couldn't believe it was mine (the wedding). It was a fairy tale.

"I'm not a mushy guy, but I was really mushy that weekend. I wish we could have slowed down time a little bit. It goes by so fast."

London was previously married to Charlie Spradling. Their divorce was finalised earlier this year.

Actor Jason London wed Sofia Karstens over the weekend. He is best know for playing football player Randall "Pink" Floyd in " Dazed and Confused " -- the movie that launched Matthew McConaughey's career. London, 38, proposed to Karstens last November with a ring passed down from her grandmother, E! Online reported at the time. Actor Jason London has asked a judge to reduce the amount of child support he pays to ex-wife Charlie Spradling after losing his job.

The Dazed and Confused star was ordered to pay $1,000 (£6,250)-a-month to his former partner for their 15-year-old daughter, Cooper, after their divorce was finalised in March, eight years after they first split.

However, in a new court motion filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, London claims he can not afford the full payments any more after losing his job.

A hearing into the matter will be held on 26 July.

London is preparing to marry his new girlfriend Sofia Karstens the same month.

This past April we had the opportunity to chat with writer/director/producer and all-around entertaining guy Charles Band (read it here) about his latest project Evil Bong 3D: The Wrath of Bong and how he was taking the film on the road to share with fans in selected cities.

The "Dazed and Confused" star split from Spradling way back in 2002 but the L.A. Superior Court has just now granted the official divorce documents, reports TMZ.

Spradling, who filed the final paperwork on Thursday, March 17, will maintain sole custody of the couple's 15-year-old daughter, Cooper.

The court ordered the occasional actor of "Grey's Anatomy" to pay $1,000-a-month in child support. Neither was mandated to pay spousal support.

London exchanged vows with Spradling back in 1999. Three years later, he decided to split from her. However, he and his estranged wife did not get around to filing for divorce until February 2010.

After the debacle of Puppet Master – Axis of Evil (review here), I was asked to list off some of my favorite Full Moon films. I listed Meridian despite having seen it last in 1992, recalling it as both an atmospheric and original romantic horror film. I was thirteen then. Most probably it was the sex and nudity that won me over.

Meridian is notable for being one of the first films produced under Charles Band’s Full Moon banner, with Band himself handling the directorial reigns. It’s quite a contrast against the company’s current state for a number of reasons: it employs quality actors (or, actors with a resume, at least), features interesting and notable locations and enlists a number of professionals to operate behind-the-scenes - most surprisingly, a score by Pino Donaggio. It’s an unmistakably low-budget affair, but not without some polish and a sense of style.

To his credit, Gil Cates Jr. has tackled a serious theme for his debut as a feature screenwriter-director in "Spent". But at this stage of his career, he lacks the dramatic means to achieve his goals. This examination of the psychological mechanics of addiction hugs the surface without ever getting to the heart of the matter.

Regent Entertainment has limited ambitions for this film after today's opening in Los Angeles. It opens Aug. 11 in New York and will perhaps surface in five more cities -- which is just as well because even excellent films about compulsive behavior have spotty boxoffice records.

The addictions examined are gambling and drinking. Although given the number of cigarettes smoked by the characters -- or is it the actors? -- yet another compulsion is on display here.

Our victim-heroes are Max (Jason London), an actor who works sporadically but consumes his days wagering on sports, and his girlfriend Brigette (Charlie Spradling), who continually badgers him about his gambling without realizing she has a similar problem with alcohol. The film soon gets caught up in a waiting game to see which character will be the first to grasp the depth of his or her addiction.

"Spent" runs through the usual gambling-movie cliches -- the ridiculous wager our addict cannot possibly pay off, his adamant denials of any problem, the frantic manipulation of finances and friends to stay afloat.

The film is curiously uninterested in Brigette's drinking problem other than in how it mirrors Max's gambling compulsion. In fact, women in general are ill-served here: The only other female role of any consequence exists mostly for a tasteless scene revolving around the size of the woman's nipples.

As a writer, Cates tends to state themes rather than dramatize them. Subtext and subtlety scarcely exist. Characters talk about their problems like callers on a radio shrink's talk show.

Supporting roles are poorly designed. The worst belongs to James Parks, playing a closet gay who hangs himself when he can't express his feelings for Max -- a plot line that feels like a relic from a movie made 25 years ago.

Erin Beaux's Nathan is singularly obsessed with the aforementioned nipples, while Phill Lewis' Doug is obsessed with getting his screenplay to Jack Nicholson at a Lakers game. That he stakes out courtside seats at the Forum rather than Staples Center shows how long this film has been sitting on the shelf.

The camerawork is functional at best, and a musical score turns on and off with little relationship to what's on the screen.
