Wendy MacLeod's play The Laugh Track will premiere this fall at ACT in Seattle. Her recent plays Women in Jeopardy! and Slow Food are being done around the country. Juvenilia premiered at Playwrights Horizons, as did The Water Children, which was cited as "the most challenging political play of 1998" by the L.A. Weekly. Things Being What They Are premiered at Seattle Rep and had an extended run at Steppenwolf in Chicago. Her plays Sin and Schoolgirl Figure premiered at The Goodman. The House of Yes, now an award-winning Miramax film, premiered at The Magic Theater in San Francisco, and has been done at Soho Rep, The Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, and at The Gate Theater in London. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, she is the playwright-in-residence at her alma mater, Kenyon College.
