A new episode of the Revisited video series has just been released, and since we covered the 1991 science fiction tokusatsu film The Guyver a couple of months ago, with this episode we’ve decided to circle back and take a look at the sequel to The Guyver, the 1994 release Guyver: Dark Hero (watch it Here) – also known as Guyver 2: Dark Hero, or, if you saw it in the Philippines, Predator 3. You can hear all about it in the video embedded above.
Directed by Steve Wang from a screenplay by Nathan Long that was based on both a story crafted by Wang and the Japanese manga series Bio Booster Armor Guyver by Yoshiki Takaya, Guyver 2: Dark Hero has the following synopsis: A year has passed since he defeated the Cronos Corporation, but Sean Barker continues to struggle with his ability to call upon the powers of the Guyver,...

Like many kids of the '90s, John Candy was my treasured movie uncle growing up. The beloved "Second City Television" funnyman turned comedic superstar could just as easily make you bust a gut laughing as he could tear your heart out. Heck, he was capable of doing both those things in the span of a single scene. That we were forced to bid farewell to him at the age of only 43 — when he died of a heart attack in 1994 — only makes the time we got him all the more precious.
Candy's fellow wise-cracking Canuck, Ryan Reynolds, paid his respects to the late funnyman on the 25th anniversary of his passing in 2019, posting a short video of clips from Candy's movies on Twitter as "a small tribute to a comedic genius and Canadian hero." Three years after that, however, Reynolds revealed he's also working on a far more labor-heavy love...

President Trump has claimed that he alone — not Barack Obama or other past presidents — has called “virtually” all families of U.S. soldiers who have died in service since Trump took office in January.
But Gold Star families have since lashed out at Trump over his false claims about past presidents, recalling how they were comforted by Obama and former President George W. Bush as they grieved. Trump was soon forced to walk back what Obama aides called an “outrageous lie,” admitting that his predecessor “probably sometimes and maybe sometimes he didn’t. I don’t know.”

Toronto prides itself on being the people's festival. But who are the people? And what do they think about it? Chris Michael delves into the madness to find out
It's 11:59pm in Toronto. A big, blue, inflatable alien is being batted around a cinema. A minute later, a man rescues and escorts it onstage. "You guys are so mean to immigrants," he says into the mic, putting his arm around the alien's shoulders. "They're taking our jobs!" someone in the crowd shouts back.
The man is Colin Geddes, and the crowd is Midnight Madness: 1,250 rowdy but sophisticated genre buffs. Joining Geddes is Joe Begos, the director of tonight's premiere, Almost Human. "You fuckers ready for some alien abduction slasher action?" he asks. There's a sports-crowd roar.
As the chainsaws rev and the slime oozes, it's easy to forget that earlier the same day the city was full of...

The new Kristen Wiig film suggests all men need is a woman to help them scrub up their act, and all women need is a man to let them, says Chris Michael
Like the world's longest advertisement for cleaning products, Hateship Loveship might well have come with the tagline: scrub your way to a better life. Kristen Wiig is our hero, Joanna, a pathologically meek housekeeper hired by the elderly Bill (an unintentionally seedy Nick Nolte) to care for Sabitha (Hailee Steinfeld), his teenage granddaughter. Sabitha's mother is dead: the victim of a car crash in which Sabitha's deadbeat dad Ken (Guy Pearce), drunk and high, was at the wheel. Daddy now spends his time in exile snorting coke with Jennifer Jason Leigh, who defies zero casting expectations by playing yet another trashy lady on society's lower rungs.
In her prim lace and drab cardigans, Joanna is an easy target...
