Fledgling filmmaker Jasper (Olivier Paris) has landed a gig as a production assistant to director Max Wolf (Lin Shaye) on upcoming horror film Dead House, only the job seems to have little in the way of perks and lots in the way of one-way belittling as Max shows Jasper who’s the boss in front of the production team. Max also takes the credit for Jasper’s ideas, one of which is to indulge in a little field trip to a long abandoned orphanage, where they intend to hold a séance.
Said séance is to be conducted by local realtor and horror fan Felix (Bill Moseley), who happens to be a big fan of genre icon and Dead House cast member Gregory “The Grog” Grogstone (Kurt Deimer) and is keen to offer his medium skills for a cut price in order to meet his idol. Pigeon Shrine FrightFest Glasgow audiences were treated to a séance gone horribly wrong this weekend as Scared to Death made its International Premiere on Saturday 8th March. Produced by Eric Barrett and directed by Paul Boyd, this comedy-horror hybrid blends Hollywood satire, supernatural terror, and pitch-black humour, all wrapped up in a delightfully sinister premise.
Starring Lin Shaye, Bill Moseley, and Rae Dawn Chong, Scared to Death follows an ambitious young filmmaker who convinces his cast and crew to attend a real séance in the abandoned children’s shelter where they’re shooting their latest horror film. But what begins as a quirky publicity stunt soon descends into a nightmare, as the ghosts of long-dead orphans – and something far worse – come out to play.

Paul Boyd’s Scared to Death is set to make its international debut at Pigeon Shrine FrightFest Glasgow 2025 on 8th March, offering up a terrifying blend of supernatural horror and Hollywood satire. Starring genre icons Lin Shaye (Insidious), Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), and Rae Dawn Chong (Commando), the film follows a group of filmmakers who, in their pursuit of authenticity, find themselves trapped in a real-life nightmare.
The story centres on Jasper (Olivier Paris), a young production assistant desperate to prove himself in the film industry. When he suggests attending a séance at a supposedly haunted orphanage for research on their latest horror film, Dead House, the idea is met with enthusiasm. The location in question—a long-abandoned children’s shelter—has been shuttered for seventy years following the mysterious deaths of five children in 1954, all of whom were reportedly found with expressions of terror, as if quite literally scared to death.

As of this writing, there have been nine film in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series. Tobe Hooper's 1974 original, "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre," remains one of the best horror films of all time, dredging the audiences through violence and filth that has rarely been matched on the big screen. Hooper's film feels dingy and oily, and if it was made and edited by the cannibal hillbillies it features.
The many sequels are of dubious canonical value. The series features multiple reboots and reshaping of the continuity, with at least three that restart/reboot the franchise, or that serve as direct sequels to the original. Only the central concept remains: In the wilds of rural Texas, a remote Sawyer clan has been cut off from civilization, relying on cannibalism (and possibly incest) to survive, and a group of unsuspecting cityfolk drive through the Sawyer family's property and are attacked,...

Of the hundreds of pieces of entertainment Full Moon founder Charles Band has brought into the world, one of my favorites is the 1984 sci-fi thriller classic Trancers, which also happens to be one of my favorite Christmas movies. Now, Full Moon has revealed that they’ll be releasing a black & white version of Trancers, called Trancers Noir, on the Full Moon Features streaming service this Friday, February 7th!
Directed by Band from a screenplay by Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo, Trancers has the following synopsis: Welcome to Angel City, 2247. Trooper Jack Deth (Tim Thomerson) is wiping out the last disciples of Whistler, who used his psychic power to ‘trance’ those with inferior minds, forcing them to follow his every desire. Though he’d been thought dead, he’s very much alive… in the year 1985. Whistler’s master plan – kill the ancestors of the City Council. With the Council disbanded,...

Lauren Lavera is back and being terrorized by a very different kind of demonic force in The Fetus. Lavera leads the cast of the horror movie as Alessa, a woman who is shocked to learn she's pregnant and, with her boyfriend, begins investigating the source of her pregnancy, which turns out to be of a demonic origin. Alongside Lavera, the Fetus cast includes fellow horror genre icon and frequent Rob Zombie collaborator Bill Moseley as Alessa's father, Maddox, and Are You Afraid of the Dark? alum Julian Curtis as her boyfriend, Chris.
With just over two months remaining until the movie hits theaters, Shining Light Pictures has released the first The Fetus trailer. The video begins by introducing Alessa and Chris, with the former being surprised by the revelation from her doctor that she's pregnant, while also warning the latter that her body doesn't work in the way most others do.

In 1968, director George A. Romero re-defined the word “zombie” with his feature debut Night of the Living Dead, one of the most highly respected and beloved horror movies ever made. Unfortunately, Romero and his collaborators didn’t make as much money off of that film as they should have, due to a copyright mistake that instantly put Night of the Living Dead in the public domain. So twenty-two years later they decided to produce a remake with legendary special effects artist Tom Savini directing. The 1990 version of Night of the Living Dead (watch it Here) didn’t have the smoothest production – in fact, Savini has described the experience of making Night ’90 as “the worst nightmare of my life,” and says that the finished film only represents a small percentage of the vision he had for it. The rest was lost due to budgetary limitations, clashes with the producers, and the wrath of the MPAA…...

The slasher genre is known for being the most repetitive and formulaic of all the horror subtypes, and the first Silent Night, Deadly Night film was no exception. Its simple concept — a killer Santa slicing his way through a cast of naughty nubiles — was repeated in Part 2, and that's about as much as most fans know. However, the next three sequels are outrageously campy and creative, bringing in elements of science fiction and the supernatural to subvert the stereotype that slashers are pure repetition.
The first two Silent Night, Deadly Night installments are very entertaining despite being fairly conventional, but the next three sequels include what are legitimately some of the strangest movies ever made. This series full of psychic experiments, feminist cults, spontaneous human combustion, and horny robots is sure to make fans forget all about the Grinch this holiday season. The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive was just released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One last year, and the developers have been keeping a steady flow of updates coming ever since. The next update is coming up on December 12th – and with this one comes the addition of Skeet Ulrich from the Scream franchise as a new victim character named Wyatt and Chainsaw franchise veteran Bill Moseley as a new killer family member called Bones. Moseley is best known for playing the character Chop Top in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (and he also appeared as Drayton Sawyer in Texas Chainsaw 3D), but since the makers of this video game only have the rights to base the game on the original film, Moseley has been given a brand new character to bring to life. You can see Bones and Wyatt in the trailer embedded above,...

Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is getting a massive new update for the holidays, with IGN revealing a new Map, new Survivor, and new Family member coming soon.
On December 12, horror icon – and Chainsaw franchise star – Bill Moseley joins the game as Family member Bones, with Scream icon Skeet Ulrich as a Survivor named Wyatt!
Like Barbara Crampton, who previously joined the video game, Skeet Ulrich has never actually appeared in a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, but Scream fans are sure to love playing as a survivor featuring his likeness and voice. But it’s Bill Moseley’s introduction into the game that’s the real treat for horror fans, as Moseley of course played Chop Top in Tobe Hooper’s sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2, and later popped up for a brief appearance as Drayton Sawyer (aka “The Cook”) in the 2013 sequel Texas Chainsaw 3D.

Two years have passed since the release of musician / filmmaker Rob Zombie’s latest film, his update of the classic sitcom The Munsters, and we still don’t know what he’s going to make next (although we do have a wish list of movies we’d like to see him make). While we anxiously wait to hear what Zombie’s going to do next, we have decided to take a look back at all of the movies he has made, from House of 1000 Corpses to The Munsters, to put together a list of some of the Best Scenes from Rob Zombie movies to date.
House Of 1000 Corpses (2003): Home Visit
The feature directorial debut from Rob Zombie (who was born Robert Bartleh Cummings), the horror film House of 1000 Corpses had to overcome production issues, distribution problems, and lost footage on the way to reaching theatres two years later than expected,...

Back in 2008, director Darren Lynn Bousman brought us the rock opera horror film Repo! The Genetic Opera (watch it Here) – and now, 1984 Publishing has announced that they’ll be releasing the book Blood Saga: Dissecting the Cult Film Repo! The Genetic Opera by author Staci Layne Wilson on November 26th.
Based on the stage show (originally known as The Necromerchant’s Debt) by Terrance Zdunich and Darren Smith, Repo! The Genetic Opera was scripted by Zdunich and Bousman. The film has the following synopsis: In the mid-21st century, an epidemic of organ failures leads to the rise of GeneCo., a company providing transplants at a great price. Those who miss their payments become targets of GeneCo. mercenaries, who repossess the organs. In a world of drug addiction and legalized murder, a sheltered youth seeks a cure for her rare disease as well as information about her family’s mysterious history.

Halloween: Resurrection in 2002 seemed to close the door on the original film’s run. It had run out of gas and failed both critically, with a 10% score on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as commercially, with it only bringing in 37 million on its 15-million-dollar budget. The next year would see Freddy and Jason clash with each other and Leatherface get the remake treatment from studio Platinum Dunes. While Freddy and Jason would get their own remakes in 2009 and 2010 respectively, you know you can’t keep a good masked villain down for long. So, before his two main slasher rivals got their day in the sun, Michael Myers would receive his own remake that came out in 2007. With a drastically different take and a new producer behind the wheel, Halloween would get a chance to do something drastically different than anything we had seen before. Everyone will be entitled to one good...

It’s a bit of whiplash to go from covering Psycho (listen), Alfred Hitchcock’s seminal 1960 classic, to Rob Zombie’s Southern-fried feature debut, House of 1000 Corpses, but that’s what Jenn and I are doing as we continue our month-long exploration of Ed Gein. If you haven’t listened to the primer (here), that’s the best place to begin.
In Zombie’s first film, four College kids – Jerry (Chris Hardwick), Bill (Rainn Wilson), Mary (Jennifer Jostyn), and Denise (Erin Daniels) – run afoul of the Firefly clan and fight to survive the night. Of course, the demented family is more fun to watch, especially sexually aggressive Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie) and knife-happy Otis (Bill Moseley).
What’s fascinating about Zombie’s film, apart from how overwhelming his visuals are, is how many horror and true crime homages he packs in. This includes the trio of historical killers in...

Alpha Rift director Dan Lantz’s horror film Hayride to Hell is a movie we seem to hear about once a year. Back in 2022, it had a sold out premiere screening at the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania – the same theatre that served as a memorable filming location for the 1958 classic The Blob. In 2023, it received a wider theatrical release a week and a half before Halloween. Now, just in time for this year’s spooky season, Hayride to Hell is set to receive a digital and VOD release on September 24th. In anticipation of that release, a new trailer has dropped online and can be seen in the embed above.
