Fledgling filmmaker Jasper (Olivier Paris) has landed a gig as a production assistant to director Max Wolf (Lin Shaye) on upcoming horror film Dead House, only the job seems to have little in the way of perks and lots in the way of one-way belittling as Max shows Jasper who’s the boss in front of the production team. Max also takes the credit for Jasper’s ideas, one of which is to indulge in a little field trip to a long abandoned orphanage, where they intend to hold a séance.

Produced by Eric Barrett and directed by Paul Boyd, this comedy-horror hybrid blends Hollywood satire, supernatural terror, and pitch-black humour, all wrapped up in a delightfully sinister premise.

Paul Boyd’s Scared to Death is set to make its international debut at Pigeon Shrine FrightFest Glasgow 2025 on 8th March, offering up a terrifying blend of supernatural horror and Hollywood satire. Starring genre icons Lin Shaye (Insidious), Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), and Rae Dawn Chong (Commando), the film follows a group of filmmakers who, in their pursuit of authenticity, find themselves trapped in a real-life nightmare.

The story centres on Jasper (Olivier Paris), a young production assistant desperate to prove himself in the film industry. When he suggests attending a séance at a supposedly haunted orphanage for research on their latest horror film, Dead House, the idea is met with enthusiasm. The location in question—a long-abandoned children’s shelter—has been shuttered for seventy years following the mysterious deaths of five children in 1954, all of whom were reportedly found with expressions of terror, as if quite literally scared to death.

Originally created for the film’s 20th anniversary Blu-ray, the full artwork has been turned into a 36×24 screen print. The hand-numbered edition of 150 costs $65.

As of this writing, there have been nine film in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series. Tobe Hooper's 1974 original, "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre," remains one of the best horror films of all time, dredging the audiences through violence and filth that has rarely been matched on the big screen. Hooper's film feels dingy and oily, and if it was made and edited by the cannibal hillbillies it features.

In 1968, director George A. Romero re-defined the word “zombie” with his feature debut Night of the Living Dead, one of the most highly respected and beloved horror movies ever made. Unfortunately, Romero and his collaborators didn’t make as much money off of that film as they should have, due to a copyright mistake that instantly put Night of the Living Dead in the public domain. So twenty-two years later they decided to produce a remake with legendary special effects artist Tom Savini directing. The 1990 version of Night of the Living Dead (watch it Here) didn’t have the smoothest production – in fact, Savini has described the experience of making Night ’90 as “the worst nightmare of my life,” and says that the finished film only represents a small percentage of the vision he had for it. The rest was lost due to budgetary limitations, clashes with the producers, and the wrath of the MPAA…...

The slasher genre is known for being the most repetitive and formulaic of all the horror subtypes, and the first Silent Night, Deadly Night film was no exception. Its simple concept — a killer Santa slicing his way through a cast of naughty nubiles — was repeated in Part 2, and that's about as much as most fans know. Two years have passed since the release of musician / filmmaker Rob Zombie’s latest film, his update of the classic sitcom The Munsters, and we still don’t know what he’s going to make next (although we do have a wish list of movies we’d like to see him make). Back in 2008, director Darren Lynn Bousman brought us the rock opera horror film Repo! The Genetic Opera (watch it Here) – and now, 1984 Publishing has announced that they’ll be releasing the book Blood Saga: Dissecting the Cult Film Repo! The Genetic Opera by author Staci Layne Wilson on November 26th.

Based on the stage show (originally known as The Necromerchant’s Debt) by Terrance Zdunich and Darren Smith, Repo! The Genetic Opera was scripted by Zdunich and Bousman. The film has the following synopsis: In the mid-21st century, an epidemic of organ failures leads to the rise of GeneCo., a company providing transplants at a great price. Those who miss their payments become targets of GeneCo. mercenaries, who repossess the organs. Halloween: Resurrection in 2002 seemed to close the door on the original film’s run. It had run out of gas and failed both critically, with a 10% score on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as commercially, with it only bringing in 37 million on its 15-million-dollar budget. The next year would see Freddy and Jason clash with each other and Leatherface get the remake treatment from studio Platinum Dunes. While Freddy and Jason would get their own remakes in 2009 and 2010 respectively, you know you can’t keep a good masked villain down for long. So, before his two main slasher rivals got their day in the sun, Michael Myers would receive his own remake that came out in 2007. Per Variety, Curry will make his return to the big stream in the horror film Stream, set for premiere on Wednesday, Aug. 21, in select theaters.
