Father Bachubai Shah (Nandkumar Munium) was in the film distribution business in the 1950s. He was the pioneer distributor in C.P.C.I. His concern was the Central Talkies Circuit. His office was located at Rawal bridge in Bombay. He also produced Bhojpuri movie Bidesiya. He worked with Ranjit Movies and Wadia Films. Her grandfather Chunnilal Munium brought Universal Pictures to India. It was during the partition that Chunnilal had a setback because his business was based in Lahore.

Tina Munium was suppose to be launched in films with Doosra Aadmi. Rishi Kapoor had seen Tina at Rajesh Roshan's music studio and found her beautiful. He recommended her to Yash Chopra.
