Mumbai, March 3 (Ians) ‘Kanpur ka Tarana’ Vaibhav Gupta has lifted the coveted trophy of the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 14’. The trophy came with a cheque of Rs 25 lakh and a ‘Hot and Techy’ Brezza car.

Vaibhav was one of the six finalists, who included Shubhadeep Das Chowdhury, Ananya Pal, Adya Mishra, Piyush Panwar and Anjana Padmanabhan.

Shubhadeep and Piyush were declared the first and second runners-up, and they went back home with a trophy and a cheque of Rs 5 lakh each. Ananya was the third runner-up, which entitled her to Rs 3 lakh, besides a trophy.

Mumbai, Feb 24 (Ians) Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan walked down the memory lane and recalled the shooting of the track ‘Satrangi Re’ in Ladakh, from the 1998 romantic thriller ‘Dil Se’, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala.

She shared how during the filming of the track she was on a drip, while Srk was wearing thin cotton clothes on the frozen lake.

In the new episode of the celebrity dance reality show, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, who was though unwell, gave a ‘Paso Doble’ performance to the mesmerising tune of ‘Satrangi Re’, along with choreographer Anuradha Iyengar.

Farah, who originally choreographed the song, reminisced about the shooting of this song, saying that like Shoaib, she too wasn’t well at that time.

Minimalist in instrumentation, the song features little more than some melodic whistling, piano, bass, and synthesisers, the vocals of Sonu are the highlight. Simple and rooted, there is no dramatic flair or over-the-top singing.

There is little voice modulation as the singing maestro knows just how to kick in grief, pain, and longing in the darkest and most realistic way possible, meaning he just goes with the flow.

The background score by Harshwardhan Rameshwar however should not be taken lightly, because that is what helps the singer really belt out the full emotional gravity.

On his birthday, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has finally given the first glimpse of his much awaited and discussed film ‘Dunki’. Titled ‘Drop 1’, the video combines action, socio-political comedy, love, and bleakness.

A rather experimental yet a mainstream film, ‘Dunki’ looks like a mix of bleak action with some social-comedy. Also touted to be a political-commentary, ‘Dunki’ is tonally very different from ‘Jawan’ though harbours the same aesthetic.
